Hi all,
suppose that some apps has damaged my phone and I want to do a factory reset on a stock but promoted ROM.
May I damage the phone by factory reset a rooted stock ROM?
If yes how can I reset the phone?

You should reboot into recovery and select the "full wipe/factory reset" option.

Yes, tottaly... but, if I were you, i would:
Wipe data, cache and dalvik, then install a diferent rom..
You have to do some really big crap to brick your phone there... like flashing windows mobile on it hahaha
Hey everyone.... I'm sure this noob questions had been asked billions times. Sorry
To update my "[ROM] CM10/SGT7" do I wipe everything once I boot to TWRP or do I put on SD card and overwrite once in the TWRP??
Thanks,
Marty
Put it on the sdcard, then wipe system and factory reset before flashing.
Wipe cache/dalvik afterwards..
Thanks

Saludos.
If you did factory reset, then wiping cache is unnecessary. Factory reset already wipes the cache partition aswell.

with firmware and CWM embed, than take hold back key to start phone
You probably dont have unlocked bootloader and you installed recovery with x-parts from google play store or runned a cmd file to install it.
When you installed the custorm rom you automaticaly lost your recovery. Each time you install a rom you must install recovery too.
Now that your phone wont boot you must flash stock ics/gb again with flash tool seus or pc companion.
Seus and PCC work only with locked bootloaders.
Hi
Can i reset/format the phone via Settings/back up and reset/factory data reset on a custom rom ?
And what is the difference b/w it and wiping from recovery...?
Can someone plz guide me ?

AFAIK both do the same thing! wiping from recovery is preferred coz it is convenient to flash roms in the next step!
Do you lose root if you do a factory reset? Sprint LG G3 Lollipop rooted with avicohh's one click root. In Settings>Backup & Reset>Factory Data Reset
No, you will not lose root access.
Factory reset deletes your data partition, cache and dalvik cache.
Your system partition will not be touched.

Are you sure about this?
While I'm not familiar with "avicohh's one click root" method I'm 100% sure that doing a factory reset wont remove your root access.
Factory reset does nothing to system partition. You will still have root.
Thanks.
