Just to be certain you have the t989 right? more details! What happened that lead to this "upgrade screen" not exactly sure what that is. Did you download the drivers to use odin?

What made it get stuck on DL? Have you taken out battery, or does it get stuck when you try to put back in DL?
We need details!!!!
(and FYI bro questions go in the Q&A section, not in general)
yeah which phone model do you have?
also which ROM you were trying to flash?

Hi, I am desperately need help.
I've installed ROM root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3.7z using Odin and now have a problem.
When starting phone shows Samsung logo, then Galaxy S III logo. After that screen goes black. Second later i can hear boot sound but phone is unresponsive and screen stays black.
Probably this happen because i loaded rom in the wrong place - in the odin i choose "PHONE" instead of "PDA".
I have tried to unbrick loading "Stock Samsung recovery for AT&T galaxy s3 i747" - no luck.
I still go to the download mode, so maybe there is some hope to bring phone back to life?
PHONE: SCH-I747, AT&T
Try flashing root66 in PDA instead of phone and wipe caches. If it still won't boot, then try a factory reset.

So I was trying to unroot my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 and through my stupidity I have bricked it. I assume I forgot to wipe those all important caches.
Right now It hangs on the Samsung Logo, I can't get into recovery, but I can get into download mode.
I have been searching for a fix for the past couple of hours and all the recovery fixes require the phone to be able to boot which I can't do. I have tried to flash the Stock Rom a couple times and haven't been getting anywhere.
I am going to try what is suggested in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954245&page=3
but the download is taking a while.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Your best bet would be to post in the tmo section. This is the sprint section.
Wow two posts back to back that make me wna rip my hair out. First off, it still turns on. So, not a brick.
Go herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031856 for the fix. And the s3's are pretty much identical. No reason to send ppl off to other sections if u know how to fix it.

Hey everyone
I've got a Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N and I've got a huge problem.
It first started out with me trying to root my phone, everything seemed to go well until i tried to turn my phone on, which resulted in it being stuck on the samsung logo, I snooped around the internet trying to find a solution and was recommended to reflash with different tar files but nothing worked. I tried to reset to factory settings through recovery mode but I couldn't even access the recovery mode. I then tried to get back to factory settings using Samsung Kies but after the whole installation it didn't seem to work either. I tried almost everything possible, I checked out every link on the first page of google relating to my problem yet nothing works. The only thing I can do is enter download mode and that's it.

Very different internals in your Galaxy S3 Mini compared to the tmobile galaxy s3 t999. Did you flash using the methods from this forum? If so youre using the wrong files. Head on over to s3 mini sub forum and see if you can get some answers there.

Yea that was for the original s3 varients not the mini. Spend some time over at the other forum and see what they have to say. Take it slow too! Its better to spend a day or two without a phone and getting it right then to rush a fix and end up ruining it!!
the fact that you can still enter download mode is good though. If kies still recognizes your phone when its in download mode then I think it will be an easy fix. Again though, research over on that subforum as it will be your best bet!
Ynt: [Q] Phone stuck on the Samsung logo and won't go into recovery
You can use Odin to flash another rom. I have been in the same situation and rooted with stock rom via odin and succeed.

Thanks for the new breath of hope! I thought this phone was completely done for. I'd gladly have no phone for a week or two as long as I get a fix for it.
I think we've all been in that situation before! I hard bricked my sprint s3 by flashing an internation rom...oops. there was no saving that one

Me too
yeah well i've got the same problem. I accidentally turn off my phone via removing the battery while its still on . Then after that , it's stuck on the samsung logo . What to do ?
Boot recovery and factory reset. (If it's stock recovery it will wipe your internal sdcard)
If that doesn't work Odin flash the stock firmware.

Go to ebay or one of the other websites, and buy a Samsung Jig. Plug it into your phone, and you'll get into download mode. Best $5.00 you'll ever spend.
Its not bricked.
Use Odin, search next time. This has been covered various amounts of times.

Well guys need help. I think I brick my galaxy tab 3. When I fire her up it upgraded to I guess a new firm where 217s. Went to the forums section Guide how to root, recovery and so forth. Download Odin root, and error message came up then try to reboot and I'm stuck on opening screen and can't do nothing. Can't go to either recovery or anything else. Can't connect to my pc or a battery pull. What do I do to recover from this. I'm not new to android. Maybe should of read more.

Please try a clean install of Stock ROM by going into download mode. Power + Volume down + Home buttons
I try that and it would not do anything. It just stuck on the home screen. With none of the buttons working. And of course can't do a battery pull with the tab.

Well if no one could help me after work I will take the Tab back to sprint and let them see it. I've never in all my years with android have I never brick anything I think this thing is brick.

Just got back from sprint, and they replaced the Tab with a new one. They couldn't figure it out what was wrong with it so they gave me a new Tab and have a nice day. Now I got to root this probably. Any advice I will gladly take.
