Hello All,
Can anyone give me a proper procedure of how to use the Incredicontrol app? I downloaded the app from the market and checked the posts on the forum. I read it shows two lists with the + & - signs to set the min and max temp. but in my app I can only see the one list with + & - signs and I am not able to get how to set the temp. Please help.. I have attached the screenshot.. Please go through it...
I am with XperiaMod6 with DooMKernel v19.
to undervolt, use that - for All.
it decreases 25. do it again and apply to see how far you can go, yet stable .

Sorry I didnt get u...
I knw that it is for undervolting. I just want to know y my app looks different than that specified on the forum? What do all those nos. mean? are those different frequencies?

This app shows you voltages each frequency.
Why different....its simple and working app.

Try undervolting it with -100 on all... That is stable on mine and then apply the settings

Better try -50mV at first.
Mine was stable from -100mV to -200mV and after 4 months with oc I had to go back to -75mV to -175mV.

Yes -100 and no overclock works great for me.... And my battery life is pretty good with Xperia mod v6 and doomkernel v19 and baseband 64 + patch but try with -50 to get started :-D

Does anybody have any idea how to setup 2 or more voltage profiles?
ETC: Screen off voltage profile and screen on voltage profile
Makes no sense, CPU can't handle different undervolting when screen is off or on.

But why not?
If phone can handle different frequency...why not different voltages.?
If i can change voltages, then would be nice if screen off takes more -25 all frequency and if screen on then +25 to all
Why only "incredi control" voltage app works with Neo? It think wiht Arc too!?
Ummm I've been wondering about this... for a little while. Now I'm trying Incredicontrol and I'm undervolting my Arc -100mv. I'll run with that for now and see what kind of "possible problems" I may encounter if any.

But you need to reboot for the volts to apply, so for that you'd need to reboot every time you want to use your phone ???
There's a setting that sets it on boot.

I keep hearing people say they uv -xx number to save battery, how do you do that?
You can check the kernel thread you installed from. Usually use echo command and point to vdd_table. If you don't understand what undervolting is, you may not want to do it. It can cause issues if you undervolt too much. It can save battery life, but i would suggest using setcpu, you can find a free copy on xda, and setting profiles, like screen off, in call, etc., to lower values. I would say, stay above 300MHz for min. and clock down the max. Min are: 384-540 for screen off; 384-540 for in call. also, with some roms, you can set the main value, on the first tab, to a lower figure in the max column. I don't charge my phone everyday anymore.
Thanks for the detailed info. But I heard there's an app that does uv?

Ah ha!!! I see!!! Thanks!!
I've used up my "thanks" for today but I'll definitely come back tomorrow.
What is the uv number I should generally set to save battery but not have the phone freeze?
If I set it to negative too much and the phone freezes, I just reboot the phone and re-set the number to a higher (less uv) value?
it's different from phone to phone, you just gotta try it out and see.. i UV mine about 100mv under stock at 1.51ghz

Mine can do 100 also
I can only go -62.5. Anything over that will freeze the phone...
How come every phone is different in this regard, does this mean my phone is "born" to consume more battery?
Thought I saw posted somewhere here not to use SetCpu on our phone? FauxClock always FC's on me. Running Jugs overclock on rooted/flashed T-Mo SGS2.
Hey guys, i got cyanogen mod 7.2 installed on my phone, and whenever i tried to change the max cpu speed from the settings, it would now work after boot. Most of the market programs i use freeze as soon as i try to apply my changes. I got "No-frills Cpu control" to work once, so i made it 844 max clock speed. (I confirm using android system info app"). EDIT: after another frozen reboot, the clock speed has gone back down to 787 again -_- . So frustrating!!
So i was wondering, which app do you use to overclock your gio that doesnt freeze?

I'll have to try that, I am using on-demand currently
Which is the best governor for gaming performance?
Performance or smartass v2
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
For performance the best governor is "performance". It causes that processor overclocking is always the highest. It means that if you have overclcked processor at 921MHz, with this governor phone will always work at 921MHz. But don't use it, it drains battery as hell
The best governor for daily use is SmartassV2, because it's balance between performance and battery
And sorry for my English :|
Na szczęście jest TapaTalk
which 1 is best for daily uses????
i am using smartassv2 but sometimes my phone becomes very very slow takes 1mint to slide the status bar phone apps etc.....
what is i/o schedular??? is it effect the speed?? which 1 is best???
Now I just use the On demand governor. Smartassv2 drains my battery pretty fast

Yup,any overclock will drain your battery quicker, this is very logical as you consume more power, right?I use No Frills CPU control, and i have my galaxy Gio set to 921 Mhz....! It realy works like asmall little pocket rocket now...I was already very satisfied with the price/performance ratio of this cheap little phone, but now with this stable OC it really hits it out of the park!!!No complaints from me about this phone..I'm gonna try and achieve an even higher oc,but it's really not a must, just want to know how far i can push it.No Frills has a benchmarker impemented ,very handy.

That's true. But smartass is just like balance between perfomance and battery drain, which makes it the best governor
Which 1 is better?? I've tried both. Cant seem to tell except that SetCpu can make diff profile than No Frills n No Frills can determent whether ur phone is in deep sleep or not.
So, my Q remains Which is better??
Thanks vokal1992
That depends on what you need. I personally like that you can have setCPU profiles for each app individually.
Ya, i'm using SetCpu 2. But to know whether ur phone is in deep sleep or not u gonna need another app like "CpuSpy". Why cant SetCpu hav deep sleep feature/option that can let us know bout our phone gone into deep sleep.

So I have finally got round to taking control of my Play. Unlocked my bootloader, rooted, applied DooMKernel v14 and now have Gin2JelllyBean rom.
I've already managed to squeeze a day more battery life thanks for SetCPU down clocking while the screen is off. Now id like to look at undervolting.
From what I read, there should be an undervolting option active in SetCPU but it's not there. I thought DooMKernel supported this, so firstly I just wanted to ask if there is anything I need to do to activate it or if might have gone wrong somewhere?
Thanks in advance.

I have SetCPU too and it doesn't let me change the voltages. I am using IncrediControl for changing them, and it works
OC/UV Beater2 v1.7, allows setting voltages in an init.d script, so there aren't any unnecessary services running on boot
Thanks for the suggestions guys I will check them out.
Still confused why I can't use SetCPU though.

and i just have to flash it via recovery ? i need to wipe anything like dalvik cache or partition cache?
thanks in advance.
I'm from phone so I won't be able to provide you link right now. You can search it in the development section.
You just need to flash the zip without any wipes or anything.
I personally like smartass v2 as it gives a balance between performance and battery with cfq scheduler. Set minimum to whatever doesn't give you lag and max to 787.

hey i m using cake kernel v1.4 by einstein frat
bt really i dont wana overclock my phone.i changed that setting.
my correct settings are:
122MHz-600 MHz
ondemand,deadline
my phone isnt lag.so is it good for good battery life?
or i should hv chose smartass v2 and cfq?
and really i dont want to overclock my phone so.
Smartass governor works better when it cones to savings battery as well as thrusting performance. I'd suggest you try it once. I really have no specific knowledge about any perfect input output scheduler but cm cones with cfq and i used to go with noop on my sense roms. It's all about smoothness isn't it?

Yes set cpu is good.
You can just flash kernel without any wipes.. Yes it should have replaced the old.
A lower cpu min cpu frequency is preffered but it should be high enough to cause no lag when unlocking the phone. 245 Mhz is the ideal frequency
