Hi I'm using supernova xtreme gingerbread . Since I installed it after the first couple of days I've had to do a battery pull atleast once a day because its freezing .
I have kept the stock radio and am using a class 4 16gb SD . I have read that a good quality SD is imbportant . I hot mine off eBay £13 . Is that likely to be the problem . And if sp what SD is best to get , and where from ?

The SD is probably the issue. One important thing about SD cards are their classes, which indicate write speed (in MB/s). Cards can be of class 2, 4, 6, or 10. The number indicating the card's class is written on most cards with classes of 4 and above. Most of the ones that don't have anything on them are class 2. ROMs which use D2EXT scripts require fast cards, class 6 and above. The manufacturer is also an important thing to note, I recommend Kingston and SanDisk, though I'm not really an expert on the matter. They have worked good for me, though. You can get them on eBay or Amazon, as far as I'm aware of.
I'm sure for this Rom it says class 4- 6 . Mine is a sandisk

The desire was designed with class 4 in mind. So class 4-6 yield the best results. Some class 10s work, such sd adata I believe..other class 10s act like class 6, eg Kingston....

So if the SD card is not the cause what is ?

I've noticed it happens a lot more ( but not exclusively ) when using mobile internet . I've had to pull my battery 5 time just to post this .

To be sure I'm going to buy a new SD . How can I ensure I get a 16gb that's compatible ? Shall I just get Any 16gb class 6 sandisk ?

Bought a 16gb class 6 transcend SD and I'm still getting freezes and now random things are popping up with force closes . Any help ?

Hope this help....
SuperNova Extreme is a superb Rom even I tried it but after 24 hours of flashing when more and more apps are installed it starts freezing , droidzone stated this was because of slow sd card I am already using Samsung class 6 . Any way I found runny Rom v 5.xx a lot better with cm7r2 hboot it got just enough free internal memory and is very smooth . Currently I have 200 mb free.

Easy qn..
Higher the class, faster the card and hence better..
Does anyone know if 64gb micro sd cards are compatible with the one v?
I know it says up to 32gb on the spec sheet but it said that on the sensation and that seems to accept them ok.

Tried a SanDisk 64GB Micro SDXC card in my gf's One V today.
Had to format it on the phone, but after that seems to work just fine.
I thought the android OS only supported up to 32GB Micro SDHC, I'm not sure if it supports SDXC, but if it does, that would be the sweetest thing ever, more FLAC on this baby makes for a happy me
Was hoping it would. Looks promising. Thanks for your feedback

Theres no phones that officially suport the 64gb cards but lots of phones that actually seem to work ok with them. Including the sensation, the gs2 and galaxy note to name a few. I would have thought that as long as its been formatted it should work ok.

i have a 64gb kingston and its working fine.
I got my HTC One V today.
The 64GB SanDisk SDXC card, that I had been using on my HTC Wildfire S before works just fine.
Hey, does it matter if the MicroSD (8GB) is Class 4 or 10? I don't understand the difference but i better ask before i buy one.

I have class 2 and about 5mbps write and 20+ read....it isn't true...with a class 6 sdcard you will get 15mb write speed...
Sent from my HTC One V using XDA
The class tells you what minimum write speed the manufacturer guarantees.
Most cards go a good deal above the value because the manufacturers play it safe.

I also wanted to confirm that my HTC One V (from Virgin Mobile) sees 59.5GB of a SanDisk Mobile Ultra microSDXC Class 6 Flash 64GB Memory Card. One of the reasons i switched to Android from the iPhone was the ability to store all of my music collection on my phone and this should be almost enough space.

I had talked to the customer support of HTC regarding using class 10 ,16GB sd card. They told me that you cannot use class 10 card on wildfire s(i am confused wether 16 GB class 10 or any size class 10).
They again told me that you can only use class 10 on phone with processor clock more than 700MHz.
Is it right?

I presume they mean that you wouldn't get the full speed of a class 10 card.
A wildfire S at stock clocks seems to tap out at about 8MBps write, as opposed to the 10MBps a class 10 card is supposed to function at.
The SD card standard requires that a higher rated card must function in a lower-rated interface, just at the lower speed.
Simply our phone cant read and write class 10 at their full speed...so you can use it but for value for money you should go for class 6 16gb..i have it.

The CPU appears to be the bottleneck. It'll push class 10+ speeds if you overclock significantly. This guy clocked at 806MHz is pushing 11.2MBps writes.

If you are buying a new SD card only for being able to use data2sd, then may i suggest using app2sd first and then buy if you are not satisfied with the performance. And if it is for something else, then go for class 10. and overclock your phone!
I am using a class 4 sd card currently.. Would changing to a class 10 sd card
rake in faster loading times in games and apps?

same 8 Gb sd card works fine with my nokia.....
and i tried using a 2GB sd card on my WFS...its working fine... then why it is not supporting 8 GB???
no help????
There is a known compatibility issue with class 4 cards. I had one myself and had to switch to a faster class 10 cards. Unfortunately that's your only option.

That's kinda strange because I'm using a Sandisk 8GBcard. I think it is class 4
Don't forget to press thanks if I helped.
It depends. Idk whats causing this coz even after searching for a whole month i couldn't get to root of it. I had a kingston 8 gb class 4 which worked very well as well .

A hint
Hi, I got interesting story here. I got 32GB V-Gen (Local in Indonesia). I bought that card for about 2 months ago and didnt have this behavior strange mount-unmounting things. Umh...then I started got this behavior a few weeks ago. Tried formating with no luck. Then, I tried something...I use app named alogcat. Whenever I used alogcat, there is no strange behavior on my MicroSD. I dont know the correlation between this logcat and behavior. I hope that you guys with great skill could figure it out what happen to the system or the card. Happy New Year
I don't have this problem with 8Gb Class 6 but I do with 16Gb Class 10...

I'm using a sandisk 8gb class 4 card, it happened to me once but it's gone now. Never happened again. Although in that period of time, I formatted the card twice. Not for this, but worth a mention.
