You're right this is obviously staged. But it doesn't negate the fact that having an "s pen" helps with the tasks demonstrated.
I think the note is too large as well. 4.7 is as big as I would go.

i think i am the NUMBER ONE fan of the galaxy note, and am willing to buy one outright when it comes to sprint. but the tasks he performed were not really s pen exclusive. sure, they wouldnt WORK without the s pen, but only because thats the way it was programmed... i have yet to see the s pen do things that fingers cant... like maybe using the button on it to enable one handed ''pinch to zoom'' or other gestures while pressed? doesnt mean i dont love it more than my family

Yeah I just don't like (personal opinion) Quall and have not for awhile. That and benchmarks don't really show much for everyday use of a phone. Sure the One X looks good but honestly the G2's been great everyday regardless of other speeds in phones.

Nothing to do with being loyal at all. Every phone I've had till the GS2 was HTC (that I personally owned) But I've used other phones on loan for a few days and just never liked them. I have a unique case where I goto school at a Tech college most of the guys I hang around are phone junkies so we all get to mess with each others phones for days on end. The GS2 was my first Samsung in years and I've been happy with it if the GS3 is worth it right now even with the few issues I'd most likely still get it (if it's worth it)

Just search around there are plenty of threads on how to port the epic touch and other phones to virgin mobile and boost mobile. Process is pretty easy but you need a "donor" phone thats already activated on either of those networks. Also virgin mobile sadly doesnt offer the $25 plans any more. They bumped the price up to $35, but still a good deal. I got lucky to hop on the $25 plan and grand father it over.
Nice KIRF.
Definitely not for Sprint, and 99% sure it is fake. Lmao

I highly doubt that is it, but I really hope Sammy doesn't go that route and get rid of the capacitive buttons on the GSIII. The persistant on screen buttons are the WORST design decision Google has made with Android and I refuse to buy an Android phone without capacitive buttons. That was literally the primary reason why I didn't like my Gnex. I've got my eye on the HTC One X with that badass S4 Krait in it (smokes the Tegra3, I don't know why people are acting like it's a downgrade), and if the GSIII has no capacitive buttons, then my decision is going to be that much easier.

IS SPRINT GETN THE s2 NOTE?

Ive been with sprint for a very long time, customer service is what keeps my buisness with sprint. There awesome in this regard. Cell service sux tho...
More to the point,at&t sux all around were im from. Thats 1 mans opinion. BUT!!! They now have a phone thats caught my eye....the galaxy NOTE! With all its 5.3 in screen glory, its hard to NOT drop sprint like a bad habit and run on over to at&t to accuire this phone. I currently have the epic 4g touch and love it. 4.5in screen is awesome! But 5.3 with a smart pen! Very enticeing...
So,has anyone heard anything about sprint pickin this wicked little phone up? A slightly modified version maybe? Or do we galaxy freaks have to jump ship to get our hands on one? Thanx 4 listening to my yammering
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
There is a rumor sprint will get the rebranded note, the galaxy journal.
5.3 samoled sexiness I'm all over it!!
I hope they do and from what has been said we will
It's been rumor after rumor after rumor with no substantial evidence. I hope Sprint gets it, because I would love to have it, but it isn't looking likely.
LOL galaxy journal....What's next? Galaxy diary?
Yes, they are. It won't be until May 19th or after that. Possibly early June.
Sent from the guy who will never buy Klipsch again.
Like I said before, I'm waiting to see what the s3 will be and what CPU the journal will have. If its a snapdragon like the att version, I will pass on it.
Im sure the day it comes out our friends will find a way to root, rom and otherwise pimp the journal. I want it,im tempted to start a at&t acct just to obtain the dam thing. We have all these leaks and what not,why not a leak about this? Leak a release date
I'm hoping the s3 comes with the S pen. Looks very cool on the Note!

I personally think the Note is too big. A coworker of mine has one, and when she uses it as a phone, it reminds me of the giant cellular phones from the late 80's and early 90's.
Plus, you can't exactly drop it in your front pants pocket without looking like a dufus.

[Article] Sprint's network sucks (nothing that wasn't known before)
On a serious note, the speeds were about the same on 3g and wifi.
Nexus had slightly faster uploads on 3g/wifi. E4GT had slightly faster download avg on 3g. They are roughly tied for download on wifi. None of the numbers were very impressive, but that is the fault of the network rather than the phone.
Further supports my decision to stick with the E4GT for now. I need to be blown away in order to even contemplate switching.
Thanks to qbking for the video and sfhub for the recap.

Debatable.
While we will always take better download speeds, upload is used when browsing the web etc as well so having a better balance between them could give better real world usage results.

See I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I never seem to struggle with my data connection unless I'm just in the middle of the boondocks (and in Alabama, that could be anywhere lol) and typically at that point I'm driving, not trying to browse the web. Around town and the cities where my family lives and I visit often I always get a quick connection so, again, just not enough of a difference for me. But for others it might be more than enough.
The overall specs of the Nexus just don't seem like a huge step up from the E4GT, not nearly enough for me to jump on it without waiting to see what else might be in store in the nearish future (SGSIII).

There's no doubt that, if you don't need a new phone now, waiting for the SGS3 is going to be a better decision.
But, if you have the money or whatever, going from the SGS2 to the Galaxy Nexus IS a bit of a spec bump.

If I recall correctly the GPU in the Galaxy Nexus is a bit better.
But yes, LTE and Screen are the two noticable upgrades.
LTE will be relatively significant by the end of the year and into next...
And I can only conclude that the screen upgrade is huge for a lot of people since SO many people buy phones based on the screen.
A pure Google experience with on screen buttons (with no need to root and flash) is also apart of the package.

Actually, what we really need would be Google Wallet support for our GS3's without the hack-around. But we know that wouldn't work with Apple since they're now Anti-Google. Forget where i saw it... think it was on the news earlier, but i like how they put it. Something along the lines of "There is so much competition between Apple and Google, that Apple decided to recreate the world." in regards to Apple's new maps system.

This.
Its almost impossible to get (cheap) nfc tags in Canada. I asked a Best Buy rep at the Eaton Centre store in Toronto a couple of days ago, and he had no idea what NFC was.
I was really hoping the new iphone would have it so that it would become 'mainstream', but guess we have to wait another year now. Also, doesn't help that stupid S Beam is incompatible with Android Beam (try transferring photos to any non-GS3 phone, it will fail..till we get updated to JellyBean)

i remember reading reviews almost 'ranting' about how light the galaxy s and galaxy s ii were. people were saying 'too light', 'does not feel premium because phone does not feel substantial in hand', 'iphone is perfect with high quality weight to it', 'sometimes not sure if in pocket or not'. something along those lines.
and i read this on a youtube comment but I think it could hold some truth. could Apple have not included nfc (even if it wanted to/why wouldn't they want to?), because it already finalized its aluminum design? fail.

it seems this phone is no longer Epic.
What do you think about the change?
Does it matter?
Is that the end of the Epic line?
Will there be an Epic 3?!
:cyclops::cyclops:
Probably sprint distancing themselves considering the legal trouble in re: apple.
Official Sprint support for the OG Epic is going. They are not longer issueing updates for it (IE Official ICS/JB) she stopped at GB (2.3.6 I believe) I just recently left the OG Epic to the touch (got a good deal on it) So Galaxy's are still good to go.. not even worried about Legal issues.. they are still slinging the S2 and S3 so jump on one if you like... (S2 should still be getting a an update, but not 100% sure) Hope this helps clarifiy.
This is only my thoughts on this.. not an official statement by anyone important, just how i understand it to be coming from the OG Epic side of XDA and folks on there..
Are you implying that the form should be renamed to Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II SPH-D710?

Yep. lol.. :silly:
I was responding to EOL on device... for some reason i thought pic was actually of the S2 (oddly i didn't look at mine sitting next to me! lol) been a long day at work.
Sprint is done with "EPIC" as samsung will not make carrier specific modifications as in EPIC and EPIC 4G TOUCH. Galaxy SIII is just Galaxy SIII.

Yeah it's a shame about the EOL, but I'm actually surprised the Hero is still on the page. More bummed out than surprised I suppose, I went threw 9.5 Samsung Moments. I gutted 2 & zombied them together.

Agreed! This is only the 2nd Epic I've needed, I drowned the first one. I'm using my upgrade to get my wife the Note 2 & keeping both our OG Epic's as wifi devices. Maybe then I'll finally sell back the only working Moments I ever owned!

Nice, I found my Epic Touch (S2) for $50 on Craigslist... Loving it.. I'm going to upgrade to the S3 later this year/early next year probaly, but wanted to mess with something different for now. Mom took the OG Epic inplace of her Photon. lol.. I'll prolly sell back this thing when i upgrade. It'll eat some of the cost.
So any idea if there will be another hwkb device? Or is it touch screen from now on? I remember something on the CM9 blogspot about the masses calling for another device with a full layout.

I agree with you. I was a little skeptical at first about going to a phone with out a keyboard, because all my previous ones had a keyboard. I actually like it a lot better, don't get me wrong though I do miss it sometimes lol
I just see friends (with out swype) struggling to enter text as I just smash words at about 45 WPM!! I don't think I could be happy without all my extra working parts
I thought i wouldnt be. But honestly, keyboard on the touch wih the larger screen isnt that bad.

HEY! I'm looking to move to that phone next! I hope so, either that or if the Nexus devices are better this time around I might go with one of them.
