How to get back to stock kernel ? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Ok, I may sound stupid here but bear with me. I love my phone on stock because I believe that's how Google want us to use the phone. The only thing custom on my phone is faux kernel which I used to connect to OTG NTFS drive.
But my experience with faux kernel is not that great. The question is: Do you know where I can find a flashable or fastboot-able version of stock GSM 4.0.2 kernel ? I searched up and down the forum and couldn't find it. If you can tell me how to extract is from Google stock image then it will be even better.
Thank

Faux has a zip file that resets your kernel back to what it is in the Rom you flash.....its located in his thread in the development section, the same one with his kernel

[Q][GSM] Stock Kernell 4.0.3?

Hi guys, i used the search button but I don't find anything. I am looking for the Stock Kernell 4.0.3 for the gsm version of the galaxy nexus. I want to try it on different custom rom instead of the custom kernell provided, but i can't find anywhere where to download it... Any link or suggestions are appreciated...
Search with one l as kernel doesn't have 2
Sorry... Kernel whit only 1 L....
anyone whit this kernel?
I would also appreciate this.
Here you go. This kernel is built from AOSP 4.0.3 r1 using full_maguro-user configuration. Completely stock and is insecure (so you can root yourself).
I'm using my own ROM with this as well. You can flash with fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Franco kernel. How do I update to 4.0.4 IMM76I

I received a notification for the update to 4.0.4 IMM76I and accepted. My phone downloaded the update, rebooted, and started to install the update. However, about 1/2 way through the update, the Android changed from updating animation to having a large explanation mark on it. Nothing happened for 10 minutes, so I removed the battery and hard reset the phone.
I'm using Franco Kernel on the phone. Can anyone help me understand why the update didn't finish? Is this because I'm not using a stock kernel? Will I receive the update through the Franco kernel?
Please help! I'm still battling the signal loss issue and can't fix it! Thanks

The update did not finish. You need to be running a stock IMM76D kernel.
I've posted both an image you can flash in fastboot, and an image that you can flash in CWM. Flash one of those first, then install the update.
Worked! Thank you!
Worked like a charm. I'm now running the latest build. Thank you so much. Hopefully this will finally solve the lost signal issue I've been experiencing.

Let me have a try on your cwm-IMM76-boot-zip, thank you very much
It was the radio!!
Well, I was able to upgrade to the IMM76I build, and the signal lost issue did not go away. Then, I realized I was still using an XXKK1 radio, which didn't seem right. So I flashed UGLA4 radio and haven't had a signal drop in over 24 hours.
Yah!!!! Thanks.
can someone post or PM me the IMM76I stock kernel?
i want to flash AOKP milestone 5 but it uses Faux's kernel
i dont like his battery life, i want the stock google kernel

If you are too lazy to use fastboot, you can try the attachment. I just whipped this up myself right now. I haven't tested it, but it should work.

Thanks I'll give it a shot. How come other people don't like the stock kernel? Its got so much better battery life.

Questions for clever people

Hey, just wondering if anyone can answer a few questions for me. Total newbie here and i'm just currently learning before i take action. I'm slowly getting there
I'm currently on 1.28 (Android 4.0.3) if i were to flash a custom 4.0.4 (2.05) rom would i be able to return to my current state via nandroid?
How do you 'uninstall kernel mods'?
Why can i return to 1.28 from a custom rom, but not from an OTA
Thank you for your time if you answer.
I'll be thanking ANYONE who answers
thankssss

Make the back up before you install anything and you can restore it fine..
Restore will wipe out any mods you have installed but to just remove a kernel you need stock modules to flash and also the boot.IMG.
You will need to flash the boot.IMG in the backup folder from your pc in fastboot as the device is s-on and as a result boot.IMG cannot by flash from CWM this needs to be done.for every ROM you try.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Thanks for your answer. Really grateful. Where would I find these stock modules and I thought the boot.img includes the kernel so wouldn't flashing the stock boot.img get rid of the mods?

say you flash ARHD and then you flash boot.img stock one...there is a thread dedicated to repacking. there you can find the stock modules for that rom...same goes with the other custom kernels. GuyAdams has all repacked boot.imgs with modules there
and no flashing boot.img does not get rid off any mods

Need the stock kernel for 4.1.2 or 4.1.1 please

Hey, I tried (almost) all custom kernels but battery seems to be best at stock kernel.
So I would like to have the stock kernel but I don't know where to get the zip from
I'm running 4.1.1 Can I flash the kernel that shipped with 4.1.2 (assuming it's different and better)?
If not then a link to the kernel with 4.1.1 would be much appreciated.
4.1.1 Stock kernel

what i don't know is what to look for on a kernel and how to instal it, can someone show me a good learning Thread or if you'd like to explain to me how to do it ?
I know what it is and know what it does, just don't know how to push the new kernel and installing it... sorry about the noob thread but i really wanna learn all this

Kernel is boot.img. You can push the img with fastboot (fastboot flash boot boot.img), or get Flashify from the play store.
If you plan on trying different kernels, it is recommended to flash the stock kernel, reboot, then flash the new custom kernel. It has something to do with some custom kernels using a custom ram disk. Not sure on the specifics, exactly.
