Seriously am dying for CM7 like many of you. just curious if there is any info. Like a place to read about any progress like a devs blog? An I understand it takes alot of time and effort. I been using CM since i put android on my vouge. I check everyday to see if it the development section. This is the longest i have gone without it since my evo. I am going threw withdrawal D:

There isn't any progress to follow, development is halted until Gingerbread Kernel source code is released and once that happens you can follow their progress at their GitHub.
dammn allright thanks for the info
I hear you man. I had cyanogen on my g1 back in the day. I really don't understand what is going on in github, not my language i guess. lol. I am waiting patiently until it comes out though. I wonder if they have fixed anything since alpha 4, or are they still on alpha 4?
The last update I read about CM7 for the Epic was they were starting from scratch with a new kernel, and they almost had it booting properly, so who knows. Guess once the source drops we'll probably see some action then..
Damn bro you had a G1 too? Maan. Remember the good old days?! We had everything. CM4 through CM7, Blur, Sense, etc... we had a lot. Now we barley have ANYTHING. I woke up this morning, I was like "Damn. I should've gotten the N1 when I was still with T-Mobile." The N1 still has development and probably will even when Ice Cream Sandwich comes out and maybe past that, and we're probably gonna get stuck. Dude. I wonder if the G1 will see Ice Cream Sandwich...?
[QUOTE=Original Android
I would think so, since it got that hc sdk port.

They have gone further than alpha 4, using some stuff from teamhacksung.. but they have to redo a lot, an start with a new kernel.. but as stated, development has halted for the most part... awaiting some colonels sauce..

I decided that until we get our official update to ICS I would go back to my g2x because of the AOKP which is by far the best rom I have ever used it is far superior in every way shape and form to anything including cm9. It is the most customizable rom there is. Anyway enough about the g2x im sure you guys don't give a crap about that but I was surfing around the AOKP forum and came across a thread that was asking for a I727 skyrocket port to AOKP and in that thread A person posted that whitehawkx just tweeted that he has the AOKP running on the t989 already! This is great news So I went and found whithawkx on twitter and went back in his tweets and saw that he indeed did get it working but it is no where near ready for relese yet. But still Once that happens there will be no need for any other ROMS except for updates of AOKP. Just thought you guys would like to know that little bit of info. And for those that dont know what AOKP is it is Android Open Kang project. It is by team kang and they already have it on a whole ton of devices you guys should check it out on rootz it really is a great thing you can customize everything every aspect of the rom. And it is vanilla ICS which is great because touchwiz sucks on ICS actually all of those custom launchers from htc, LG, Samsung and so on suck just plain google software is best
DELETE THIS PLEASE
great news but you're a little late..

An end to an era - RIP Gummy
Well guys I think I am done with Gummy. It has been fun but too costly on mine and family’s time. Over the last few months I have really lost interest and this has become more of a job than something I did for fun. Adam and I have talked and we both agree that the whole project has just burnt us out. To do a proper Gummy with JB would require way more work than I am really willing to put into it at this point.
I am not quitting completely, I am just done running a project. I am sure you will see me here and there helping other teams/friends out. It was fun while it lasted but everything has to come to an end.
Hate to see this happen ... I've run nothing but their work from day one on this phone, it has always been flawless and packed with features. I will stick with the Linaro3 build for now I guess and not migrate to 4.1 until I find out whose is the best out there with some of the features like added buttons and such that I have grown accustomed to. Not into tweaking power settings and such.
Thanks guys for all of the awesome time and work you had put into the community. You were truly under appreciated and will be missed.

I've recently been looking for a good ROM for the epic 4g touch and so far I haven't seen much not even a stable CM9 build yet not just with this phone but Sprint's phone the lack of support or I'm just looking in all the wrong places because I'm trying to root and get a CM9ROM on this phone and even over clock it as well if not CM9 build just root and overclock And some help to root it since I haven't seen any helpful videos on that at all yet .

Whats with some people on this forum?
Anyway humpty123 lots here are ran cm9 but some development moved pretty quickly to CM10 or devs moved to SGS3 around the time we got kernel source. It seems to be stable but there were some battery life issues back in May which is the last time I checked. I ended up running AOKP instead for a bit. Check the latest thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563658
And read, read, read before you flash it. Mistakes = brick on this phone.

I have been running the alpha 6 as my daily driver for over a week now and find it to be great. It has some gps issues that there are many threads on showing how to repair, but i'm too lazy to do anything about. I just installed google now on it and am very happy with it until jb is squared away.

I try not to do phones for friends and family, I end up being tech support for them way too often. Takes time away from my own fun.
I have tried a few others, liquid, alien, atom etc and none just seem to add up. I hate to sound condescending and by no means disrespectful but im looking for some others to play with. Customizable, leds, softkeys, statusbars, are some of the features I use a lot.

CM10, duh. I've tried quite a few as well and ended up going back to CM10. Their new update service is pretty slick if you flash a lot. I stick with CM's own kernel because it was designed for his build. Cyanogen has obviously put forth the most work in building android out of any developer out there and this is why I trust his work more than others on here. Multiple people are responsible for changes to the code and review what is to be submitted and not submitted for a better overall experience/compatibility; not just some random Joe Schmo developer tinkering with code.
You can't argue that Cyanogen and his team are the best devs on here, no one here has come close to what he's done with his build system for all of the devices he builds for. He makes CM a simple extension to vanilla android and compliments it very well.
I didn't even like sorcery when I tried it..
paranoidandroid for me
"I don't mean to be condescending" and "don't want any drama" do not belong in a thread such as this. You were better off trying all of them, and not some of them (and thinking it was all of them) and making a decision for yourself..

Sure you can, and that isn't fair. People have blinders on if they think only CM are the best. CM is a team of over a 100 devs. They have the manpower needed to do what they do. Nobody else does.
One of CM's recent features that they tried to play off as totally original (and many believe it), was in a rom a month prior, the commit provided by someone who has no such "dev" status.
There is talent everywhere. CM is not the answer to it all.
good roms are never supposed to be mentioned. just saying. silly

maguro or toro?
heres maguro http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=rasbeanjelly&device=maguro
if you have a toro, press toro on the right side of the page. if you have a toro plus, UBER started a thread in the toro+ section. all the rasbean jelly rom support can be found in the trinity kernel thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1455874&page=2267
No offense taken. I just think what CM has does is the cleanest solution to a custom build of android for mobile devices. And there's a reason they have so many developers on their team.. and don't forget Cyanogen himself.

From the Roms I've tried (which is every single one) I've found that cm10 is one of the lower on the totem pole when it come to features. A great ROM yes super fast and super stable yes but as for features.... not so much.

You're talking minimal differences man. How many more features does AOKP have over CM10? It's not as many as you think if you list them all, and besides, the CM team has their own that AOKP doesn't have.

What feature? I agree with you, it's not like Cyanogen, steve, whatever his name is, is doing the work for a few dozen devices. I just want to know what feature you're talking about?
Sorcery is nice but for me the performance wasn't there. Xenon HD seems to work best for me
