you mean something like CWM to flash. and the kernels have their own threads in the development section.. unless the devs don't want to release theirs you can always attain it yourself with simple pulls and pushes.

In case you're not familiar with clockworkmod (CWM), here is a generic how to guide. Of course, plenty of other resources on this site also.
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...-and-how-to-use-it-on-android-complete-guide/

Try Kernel Flasher from the market. I think it has all the kernels for our phone.

Need stock kernel

Hello!
I've installed the Rogue Kernel v1.1.3
"Outlaw"
How can I uninstall this kernel and install the Stock Kernel back? Please, give me a link on the stock kernel only?
I really need it. After I flashed this kernel I started to have some very strange errors.
Thank you!

Please read its not hard to find stock kernel its in the dev section look.....
Its the one that says stock kernel ....

Its not that easy, that Dev section is full of "stock" kernels.

Do some research tw and cm stuff are a little different on this phone. We do have some one clicks to get you started. Go look in development or search qbking77 on YouTube for some videos.

The safest seems to be direct cwm. But I've used several Agat recoveries and love the tweaks especially battery life. But keep in mind Agats recoveries are for TW Roms. For AOSP and AOKP I use direct cwm.

The link at the bottom of this post has great starter information. Start by reading the op. Then read the threads of the developers to know what kernel does what..
The reason I'm am linking it is that you can get to each developers thread or site and this is a very comprehensive list.
Do not go flashing without reading!
My advice to you is to read ALL the stickies in each sub forum for this phone.

Since recoveries are baked into the kernel it really depends on what kernel you use.
TW ROMs are easily solved by flashing Agat's kernel/recovery repack.
You'll be able to flash to a CM rom but I honestly don't know enough about other kernel/recovery options out there for non-TW ROMS to make a recommendation for you on once you get to CM9/10.
Hope that clears it up a little.
Removed my post. Didn't see Garwynn's response.
:edit: I do have to say, that once you flash a CM build, find out what recovery you are on, then do some research on that recovery before flashing from it. Saw a few post about recent recoveries in CM builds that aren't safe or have possible issues.

Stock rooted rom

Is there a one click odin rom thats stock with added root for SGH-T989?
Odin? No. Flashable zip? Yes.

Why do you want stock when you can do well better with Darkside Evolution V4?

I need something ease to flash in.... Do u have a link for that?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
If youre looking for the Darkside Evolution series, its been discontinued. You can search the dev thread for the thread of you like.
For a stock rooted, in the dev thread, do an advanced search for "stock" without the quotes, and search in titles only. You'll find what youre looking for.

Google "thederekjay sourceforge" without the quotations.
Why you want a link of a stock rooted rom? why not root if you are on stock?
Although his kernels are discontinued I have yet to find something thats better, performance and battery life is excellent. My very first rom that I flashed for the S2 was the juggernaught rom and it was basically stock minus bloatware, maybe youd want to look into something like that.

cwm? there are countless howtos, just google search and videos even on youtube that show you how step by step make sure what you double check what you are doing and that the programs you are running are for the t989 specifically

Full factory restore for emergencies?

When I had my S3, this was something super convenient to have in case you have an issue and have to take your phone into Sprint for service. Basically posting this to see if any devs would be interested in setting something like this up.

Yes, I agree we need this for our Note-2.
You should ask mrRobinson about this. Would be easy for him, it's basically the same as his stock rooted tools. (i think my sig links to it...)
And I agree, this would be an invaluable thread to be able to point people to.

I linked you to Chainfire's thread with a Lite version available but wouldn't you still be rooted hence may still run the risk of Sprint's rooted wrath if you brought your phone in?
I'm sure there plenty of ways to go about it fellas. I'd just like it to be as simple as possible. Boot into recovery, flash zip and done without a trace.
Sent from my J-BoMbEd GN-2 using XDA Premium App
Yep, I'll be checking this thread to see if something comes up too.
Get a kernel base twrp and tar, flash non rooted tar with mobile odin lite, than flash non rooted kernel
I just did this last weekend because I had to return mine to sprint due to a random rebooting problem. Here were the steps I took:
1. Made a Nandroid backup
2. Went back to stock LJC rom using odin
3. Flashed the CF's auto-root file using odin
4. Booted phone and installed triangle away
5. Ran TA and reset the counter
6. Opened Supersu to unroot
7. Then take back to sprint
I also made a backup of all the logs (call logs, sms, and mms) and my home screen settings (wallpaper, etc) and restored them to make it look more legit. Sprint didn't really mind but I'm paranoid that way. Sorry I couldn't post links as I am doing all this from work.

Stock restore is a full factory restore. Only thing it doesn't do is wipe your external SD card.

Clockwork vs twrp

Hey so tell us what recovery you like and don't like and why?
I was using twrp but stopped because it screwed up my phone and was having problems flashing some Roms. I just don't think it does a clean wipe just works to fast..... So far clockwork cleans ,wipes more securely and have no problems flashing Roms...
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I see this thread getting out of hand and going south quickly. I'm gonna request a mod step in and make a bold suggestion to people on how to keep it clean and not go south. Also make a poll for the thread, makes it look better and more official..
I prefer TWRP, I've been on it since I got the S III (May of '12). I test roms for 3 devs on this phone, and never had an issue. I used to use CWM on previous phones and never had issues there either. I just prefer TWRPs UI.

I should of posted this with the post I started...
The Rom that gave me problems with twrp was darthstalker but was able to flash with clockwork... Maybe it was something I did wrong.... Don't know.

I've used both and like both, settled on twrp mainly because I find it a little easier to use. CWM looks nicer IMO. I dont' think you can go wrong with either.
I prefer TWRP but with the 4.2+ ROMs I flashed that have the 0 file I have to use CWM.
I'm sure there's something I can do to fix this but I've tried via Google search and have only has luck with CWM. So here I am.

I use twrp because you can name your back up files. That's probably the only reason I use it. It's UI is more friendly because of the buttons and I'm pretty sure you can theme it now, but I haven't tried that feature yet

Yes, that had happened to me multiple times as well, restoring of backups failing. For that reason I stick to CWM for now. Otherwise IMO TWRP is superior.

I do not backup and restore very often, but twice I have made a backup and restored because I was testing a ROM...but both backups failed and left me to clean flash my ROM again.
