I've done a fresh install of a ROM, done all my settings, installed my apps/ringtones and removed some system apps.
If I do a backup now in recovery mode, will this do a full restore including all above changes?

I have a question:
If I backup my current ROM, flash a completely stock one, then restore only data from the CWM backup. Will I get back my apps and everything I installed and did on the phone?
Thanks。

Can someone please help. Running a rooted GS4 4.3. Made a backup with Rom Manager. was trying some zips to try and get WALLET with tap and pay working, well no go. so I did a full wipe, then booted into recovery and restored the back up I had. Now everything just force closes, making the phone pretty much unusable. There is no Fix Permissions in RM 6.0.2.2 to see if that will help. can someone please help!!!
Thank you
Rick

Try this, before you restore the nandroid backup in cwm recovery wipe data, system, cache, dalvik cache
and last but not least do a "factory reset".
Once that's done go a head and restore the nandroid backup in cwm recovery.
There is a very good chance it will work just fine after doing that.
Good luck!

That's ok too, just do the data wipe factory reset and all the other wipes, system, cache, dalvik cache.

Ok so now in CWM Touch i cannot see my backup. I can see it when I'm in Rom Manager though. I did make a copy of the backup via Rom Manager server and saved it to my computer. How do I restore this back to my phone so CWM can see it.
This really sucks. I can not figure out how to get my backup into the secure section /mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod/backup. I tried to manually put it there using Root Explorer, but that doesnt work.. Really need help here.

Maybe try to restore from Rom Manager. Maybe it will restore through their server the same way you backed up. Just a thought.Good luck.

It only gives me an option to download to my computer not from the computer to the phone.

From the short search that I did, it appears the restore function is only available with the Premium version.

I have the Premium. It is only one way it looks like. It makes a Zip file, which from my research, is a flashable zip. However i try to flash it and it fails;

I think you have to flash it through your CWM recovery. Try to boot into recovery and hit install.Seems there's a backup and restore function through Rom Manager.
You may want to reflash your kernel too, just for the heck of it.

did u make a nandroid backup and/or did u make backups of apps with titanium backup or another app?
u may just have to do a clean flash, always make backups before doing any new install
no i didnt

oh no that was a rookie mistake, what i suggest is, clean flash unfortunately and start fresh, always always always make a nandroid backup, so did u get it working yet? or u can try to dirty flash and see if u just had a bad flash, just clear caches and install OOS full zip
I tried downloading the Pixel nav buttons just for kicks, now the system UI stopped working and I don't know how to remove the Pixel nav buttons. I have TWRP recovery installed so I could wipe, but I'm not sure what to wipe. Phone is rooted with LineageOS nougat.

wipe data.
Or restore if you've made a backup.

It should have wiped any apps installed as a user. Was it installed as a system app?
Download the rom and start over with a clean install.

I am not sure if I installed as a system app, I went to downloads and i flashed the zip.though I would assume it installed itself as one since it is code the system UI uses.
So I wipe the internal storage or system?

If you did any flashing then yes it definitely installed to the system.
Download the rom and reflash should restore your system.

I still get the system UI has stopped message, which renders the phone unusable, but the first setup screen shows up in the background.
Hello. I am currently on TWRP 3.5.2_9.0, and my phone gets stuck while restoring my system partition. The same problem has persisted over many ROMS and even iwhile using Orangefox Recovery. Any help will be great. Thanks.

Are you backing up both system and system image and trying to restore both? Try backing up system image alone and restore (not system).

EFS may also give issues while restoring. So backup everything else you want except system and EFS and try restoring.
