sorry to say but none of these helped me when my phone was soft bricked ...so as for me...these didn't work.......but it doesn't mean it wont work in other brick conditions...mine were different..just try it out....you never know

The soft brick ODIN mode worked perfect for me when I got my phone stuck in a bootloop. I've yet to be unlucky enough to have a hard brick as of yet so it's good to know there's an option available if I ever do. Thanks dude! ;D

may be it will work, I don't know correctly.

is it hard to hard brick galaxy y?

the only one who have hard bricked his SGY is doky. I've never heard anyone else reports about hard brick in sgy. In doky's case, its a super hard brick that even usb jig couldn't help him.

search on google "how to brick" sgy

i've searched it, youtube, google, anywhere! none showed up.
i want a video of hard brick issues so badly

I've heard that SGY even survived against washing machine.
btw, there's an easy way. remove the back cover and just put your sgy in salt solution or seawater. it will definetely "hard" brick your SGY (lol)

Bricked my Galaxy Gio

Hi XDA,
I've searched in many threads but i can't find an anwser.
I've bricked my Galaxy Gio when i flashed a custom kernel. It was the kernel in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319816
Now it does nothing, I can't boot in any mode, not in download mode, not in recovery mode...
I have android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
Is there any way to unbrick or is my phone just an expensive decoration now.
Thanks in Advance.
Hi !!!
same new here
This ll work in some cases
Hope this will work in your device as well
Pull the battery to kill the boot loop (or whatever is hosed up), put the phone into downloading mode and re-flash the stock ROM.
Free to try...
Thanks for quick reply but i can't go into download mode as i said. Also my phone is just totally off and won't boot at all. My pc also doesn't detect it when it is plugged in.

If not even adb detects it, i'm pretty sure you're buggered, mate.
did you try and leave the battery out for some 10 min or more?
If adb does not detect the phone after that, then it seems to be a brick for real.
Is your phone stop at the "samsung" when you turn on your phone?
If is this,it's very easy to unbrick
One easy procedure which you might want to try with no guarantee it'll work:
-Remove the battery, microSD and SIM from the phone.
-Prepare the Odin software and your ROM on a known working system
-Connect the phone to the computer with the USB cable.
-With one hand, simultaneously hold Volume down, home and power.
-With your other hand, put the battery in the phone.
I was able to get Odin to detect an otherwise bricked phone this way. I was however unable to get further than the "setup connection" step. Maybe your outcome will be better.

Darkshado

Yes this way usually works. I've tested this way.
that worked for me to on a brick when it didnt even went on, no recovery, download mode etc, after waiting 2 weeks and trying to repair it myself I nearly throw it away, and then suddenly it went into download mode for about 1 or 2 seconds, wich told me the battery whasn't working.. so I started to charge the battery, and hoped it would boot, but it didn't.. using that method given above, I could get into download mode again, and flashes a new stock ROM. now I still have my phone, working.

[q] asking about phone brick!

When I finish restore my back up, I reboot my phone and it get brick (JUGG 5.0)!!! I cannot even press any button to turn the screen on!! Already try with different charger, battery and sim card also!! Does someone have any idea please!!
Try the long power button press. Press the power button and hold it for like 10 seconds (Maybe more, it always feels more then 10 seconds). The phone should vibrate 3 times and then you release.
If that doesn't work, then see if you can get into download mode and get Odin to recognize your phone.
I already try, I press it nearly 1 minute, but the screen doesn't turn on!
what exactly are you doing? you were making a backup in cwm, it finished and then you rebooted?
I flash a new Rom, but I don't like it. So I use Darkside Superwipe to wipe all cache and data of that Rom so that I can do the back up. After the back up process is finished,(I see everything runs well). I reboot the phone and it gets brick.

No, it doesn't work. All the buttons freeze now
You most likely are hard bricked, but you still have a slight chance to get into download mode. Not sure how you managed a brick by restoring a backup, but I'll try to help.
Ok, you are going to need the drivers for your phone. http://www.mediafire.com/file/6onrjbyd46j4lhj/T-Mobile_t989_GSII_ADB_Drivers.zip
You need odin as well, download it. http://www.mediafire.com/?u868rqz4qn0ta34
These links were provided by KonstantinKeller
Go here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ and make an account. I use sammobile because it contains everything in one shot. No need to get radio and crap from other places. After you make an account go to firmware section and type t989 in the search box. download the t989uvkid. ASSUMING YOU HAVE AMERICAN T989
After you have completed the download you are going to need to unzip it with 7zip to extract the tar.
Plug the USB cable into your computer, without plugging it into your phone.
Hold VOL UP + VOL DOWN while plugging in the USB cable to your phone. Stop holding buttons when the ''Warning'' appears.
Press Volume UP and start ODIN (Run as Admin on Vista and 7, just to be safe)
Click PDA and locate the MD5 file you extracted earlier.
WAIT FOR ODIN TO RECOGNIZE YOUR PHONE. THE COM PORT WILL TURN YELLOW AND HAVE A NUMBER
MAKE SURE NOTHING BUT AUTO REBOOT IS CHECKED!!!!!!!
Press 'Start' and be patient. It will take a few minutes because it is a large file.
phone will reboot automatically.
If you can't get the phone to be recognized try different usb ports or a different computer if you have another. This may not work at all, considering it sounds like you are hard bricked. Good luck!
I should download T989UVKID or T989UVKL1? I think my phone get android 2.3.6

I should warranty it through Samsung or ask for replacement phone through Tmobile? (I have insurance in my plan). I wonder if Tmobile find out my phone is rooted and I have to pay for the replacement phone. Do you have any idea?

Bro if you have flashed the bootloader of S5300 then I'm afraid you are pretty and royally screwed! How can you make a mistake like that?
As far as I know, the only way you can fix it is to send it into Samsung service centre.
Sorry to break it to you bro.
Next time make sure you know what you are doing before playing around with firmwares, they are NOT COMPATIBLE!

the only thing that you can do is send it back to the service center and make an excuse that your updating through kies was interrupted by a power black out

on the physical aspect, no
they can only figure that out if they can manage to boot it up without flashing the original firmware which i think cannot be avoided so base on that theory, they will not find out
ps: just tell them the excuse i gave on the previous comment
make sure your warranty isn't expired!!

if your phone was hard bricked, then the combination keys will not work anymore. .you can use "usb jig" to trigger your phone into odin mode. .you can buy a usb jig or a home made usb jig. .you will only need a 300k resistor and a micro usb. .search for a tutorial on "how to make your own usb jig"
that will definetely a hard brick. you've flashed wrong bootloader in your phone. in these case only samsung service center could revive your phone. you can ignore all comment and post about jig, recovery mode, combination keys, odin, bla bla bla since they won't work. save your time and just send your phone to samsung service center.

what reason should i give in the service centre as my phone is in warranty period
@missingchord: I'm sorry if my post migh offend you. I didn't mean that. you're just suggesting something based on your knowledge anyway. aside OP, there's only one person here who have got hard brick on his SGY. its normal if only a few us here know how to fix a hard bricked device.
@sunamit: just say 'something goes wrong when I update my rom'. thats not a lie and not void your warranty. most service center will accept these reason.

NO-BOOT BRICKS
This is where your phone does NOT turn on, no combo of buttons works and power button does nothing.
DO THIS ONLY WHEN YOU PLUG IN YOUR PHONE AND NOTHING SHOWS UP ON THE SCREEN!!! If else, follow the steps from above.
This method is basically same as above, EXCEPT the way you get into Download Mode as your phone is HARD BROKEN.
1. Download all the files required in the "SOFT BRICKS" section of this post.
2. Remove everything from your phone (SD card, sim, battery).
3. Plug your phone into your computer WITHOUT the battery, as you have already taken it out in the last step.
4. Press and HOLD vol. up and vol. down.
5. As you are HOLDING these buttons, reattach your battery.
6. You should be in Download Mode.
7. Unplug phone from USB
8. Follow steps 4-8 from the "SOFT BRICKS" section.
Troubleshooting:
-Odin stuck at some random process?
*Switch to another odin
*Make sure you did NOT check repartition, if you did, just repeat all the steps over again, of course for the downloading parts, obviously.
-Phone not responsive?
*Try the hard brick section right under
-Phone stuck at Galaxy S logo screen?
*Put it in to DL mode, and run Odin again, it's just a bad install.
-All three ODIN is nonfunctional, stuck or giving "FAILED" errors?
*DO NOT CLOSE ODIN ONCE IT HAS FAILED!
*Unplug your phone
*Replug in your phone, get it into DL mode
* Unplug once it is in DL mode
*Replug and ODIN should recognize your phone
*Leave all the settings the same, then click "Start" again.

Is this method worked with you ?
you hold the wrong button..
while you plugin the charge/usb cable, hold power button+vol down(not both up&down, only down)+home button then put again your battery..
if it still like that just go to ssc..

Very Hard Brick E975

Friends, first of all thank you very much. My E975 is a brick, the red light is fixed when I put it to load, the PC does not detect it and I'm sad about it. Rom R RRemix 5.1.1. I would like to know how to load a KDZ to revive ? I tried combinations of power and volume buttons up or down and nothing happens ... lot of thanks
I forget: No Recovery No Download Mode ?
All you can do it is throw it in to trash and buy new phone and dont install custom roms if youre noob!
Can you describe what happened to your phone ? I haven't got that kind of experience, at least I managed to custom recovery..

The most probable explanation is that you're on a custom kernel and you've exhausted your battery to total zero. .
You can recharge it back by using a more powerful charger like a 2A/2000mA charger or above
(but not too much) like provided with Galaxy note 2/3/3 neo etc

If nothing helps. Disassemble your phone, try to disconnect and reconnect your battery from the motherboard.
