Good news. Google Wallet "fixed" and provisioning of cards restored.
My wifes GN is now working fine, my GN that I had reset my wallet is not. All I get is the "Try Again" or "Remove Card" options. I called Google they sent me to Money Network who was a overnight call taker, didnt know much of anything. He created a ticket for the issue. Thank for info OP, at least I know they are not planning to take over the world with my $20! LoL
I tried activating the card, but it still states that service not available....Contacted Google and they informed that the pre-paid card is temporarily unavailable now....am i missing something?
yea this is a serious tease.......ugh
sidenote
the really really odd thing, i just called them about a hour ago when I didnt see these articles yet and neither google wallet or money networks had any freaking idea. they basically said "we hope to have a fix by friday, if not monday"
wtf
That's weird. Mine's working and shows the card/bank info and everything.

Did that, they are claiming Google hasnt done its part when they obviously have. Perhaps I should call again, it was rather early in the morning when I called. The reps didnt seem to know much of anything, both google and money network blamed each-other, lol.
mine isnt working at all ive cleared the cache and even uninstalled and reinstalled
From what I've found, the announcement about prepaid working again is for new users - those that haven't set up Wallet on their devices before.
Folks that have had Wallet and kept their data intact during the "outtage" *should* be able to continue to use Wallet as normal.
Those who wiped their data (as I did in preparation for a ROM upgrade) are still waiting on their prepaid cards to be made available. This is what I found out when I called Google and Money Network this morning; I'll call again tomorrow and see if there's any change.

Just went and tried to buy batteries at Rite Aid with my phone. Payment came up I held it on the terminal, then entered my PIN and put it back on the terminal. After a couple seconds it said "sent" but the merchant never got confirmation. I took it off the terminal and it gave an error saying to have the merchant reset it or whatever. Tried about 4-5 times it did the same thing every time.
Anyone else have this experience?
Also, looking at my transaction record it looks like the first one actually went through... but my balance doesn't reflect that, and it never gave me the merchant name or $ total. Thinking maybe they messed something up on their end? And after the first one didn't get accepted it blocked me from accidentally making multiple purchases?
edit: In the notes area, I wrote that. It was blank.
You most likely needed to hit "ok" on the physical terminal. Some stores you don't, some you do.
My wallet isn't working either. I had data in it (showed $3.XX balance), but it kept failing when I tried to add funds. I reinstalled and now I get the "Prepaid is unavailable" when I try to add the prepaid card.

No prompt on the terminal at all. It just sat blank. Never got prompted to choose credit/debit either as the Google Wallet tutorials say you may have to select "credit" if possible. The terminal was blank the whole time : /
I know it may be having issues now but this experience isn't making me confident about Google Wallet. I really really want to be able to use this.

I heard trying to get your money back is a real pain in the ass. They deduct $5 (maybe more or less) to make you a check, mail the check, and then it takes a few weeks to receive. This whole situation has now become an ungodly mess.

I called up money network a second time today and they claimed that the problem is still going on and it should be resolved by the end of the week. I don't know if this means we'll have to call to get our cards reactivated or if they'll start working again on their own. I'm also a bit concerned that it may involve a software upgrade and if that's the case I've had issues linking wallet to the market on my Verizon GN considering it isn't officially supported on Verizon phones.

My E4GT was stolen from me last night
Left it on top of my car with a bag of groceries (I thought I had it in my pocket) while I ran inside for a minute. When I came outside it was gone.
Sadly, all of my nandroid backups were on the external SD card.
Also, without thinking- I immediately notified Sprint and had a replacement shipped out ($100 deductible/ old phone is immediately disconnected).
I forgot I could install applications remotely to the phone (perhaps a tracking application) :X
Anyways, if you don't already- make sure you have a way of getting your phone back! There are plenty of applications that can track your phone as a last resort (some activate from a specific txt message/ others online/ etc).
Good advice. Even better advice: don't leave your phone on top of your car.

I'm on the phone with Sprint right now- asking them to temporarily active the stolen phone so I can remote-install an App and track it down.
I have a pretty good idea of who stole it- a guy that lives next door (at my girlfriend's apt) who was walking back and forth taking out trash/ he was the only one I saw outside at the time. I asked him later if he saw a phone in the grass and he acted a bit suspicious.
You had TEP? TEP has an app that allows you to track the phone directly from their website, if I remember correctly.

For TEP it looks like you have to have the app installed prior to it being stolen.
I'm sorry for your misfortune. But this now has me thinking about what app is the best for these situations? Anyone have any recommendations for apps to install to help find, lock, wipe the phone if need be?

Understandable. Outside of home and in my office at work, my phone is in one of two places: either in my hand or in my pocket. Always.
A sprint representative told me it's now re-activated.
Although, 3 rings goes to voice-mail. Is that normal or does it go straight to voice-mail when the phone is not on/ not in service?
I should have thought of doing this last night /slaps self

USUALLY, if the phone is off it will go right to voicemail. Don't know about the Out of service though. If it rings 3 full times, it sounds like it's on and someone is ignoring the call. But I could be wrong....

My brother recommended this one too; apparently one of his coworkers had his phone stolen and they were able to track it down with Plan B.
That is the first one I tried today. I've also tried Android Lost and Lost Droid Finder.
I installed the applications through Market remotely and have tried sending activation txts to them but haven't received anything back nor has 'Android Lost' registered itself with their control panel.
I'm guessing that by now the phone's either dead, out of service, or some dbag has sold it/ flashed over it.
You can remotely track your phone for free without any app. I had sprint do it for me one time when I lost it.

I called Sprint to see if it's possible:
- The representative told me she could set up the locator but that 'requires' another Sprint phone in order to receive a temporary password/ complete the process.
- She told me that since it's ringing 3 times, it's probably someone rejecting the call as it comes in and that if the phone was dead/ out of service, it would go straight to voice-mail.
- She told me the insurance company- `Asurion` could track it for me and transferred me to them.
- I talked to an `Asurion` representative- who was able to pull up my claim information. She told me they have no way of doing that and the only way it could be done is if Sprint offers it as a service.
I'd assume that when the phone is in service and able to receive calls (with literally 0 wait time after dialing the #), there's decent enough service for the market to push an install.. but if that's true and they're not installing, perhaps the thief has already broken in/ flashed it/ etc and wiped out my gmail account info from the market.

As long as it still has service it is possible but if you reported it stolen and the service is no longer active on that device you cannot do it so apparently if it still rings when you call it then the service had not been suspended so they are jacking up your phone bill right now

That can't be right. When you reset Google Wallet, the amount disappears unless you sign back up again. The credit is stored in an account.
That said, I don't see a way to get Money Market to cough up your funds other than by using Google Wallet.

If the money you have left is money that you added to the google prepaid card, then:
Call money market, they will ask you for the prepaid card number, which I don't think you saved. But you can also give them the Order # from when you added funds funds (you can find it in the receipt that they emailed you).
I'm pretty sure they can refund it to you somehow.
Note: To identify yourself, they will ask you from your name to how many times a day you take a crap.
I know all this because this is how I transferred previous balance from a returned phone to the new one.
Good luck.
It makes sense you can't keep it. That 10 wasn't just for free, it was to use Google wallet, since you have a phone that cannot use Google wallet now, the terms of the promotion no longer applies to you and you don't get to keep the money. Seems fairly straight forward. Not trying to be an ass btw

I tried when I log into my Google wallet account on the computer the Google prepaid card is not there.
Well anyway I called Google wallet and they transferred me to money market I had to give them first 4 and last 4 digits of the card I used to load the prepaid than had to go thru identity check they need your full name, address and SSN#. They will send me a check in main with deducted 5$ fee for making the check I guess. The only thing it takes 45 to 65 days for it to come in mail. Now I can rest easy.

So middle of last month I bought a playstore galaxy nexus and an at&t straight talk sim. I ported my phone number over and paid for the first month of service with my debit card. No issues. Well fast forward to today I bought a 3 month card from walmart.com and want to add it to my reserve so I can have 3 more months of service but I still have about 10 days until I need to refill. I try adding the pin online with no luck and so I call in to add the pin. The lady I talk to says that I can't add a pin until after my service expires at the end of my month. So essentially I have to wait until my service turns off before I can add a 3 month pin? Does that sound right?
Thanks
You can add it to your "reserve" at any time, and it'll be applied when your current month ends. If the CS rep doesn't understand properly, make sure you explain clearly that you need it added to the reserve.
I just did this on the phone last week with a refill card that wouldn't add to my account properly online (still don't know why). She knew what the reserve was and did it for me no problem.
Do not let your service run out. Always have a refill in the reserve or auto-refill w/ a card on the account. ST is pretty explicit about having something set up to continue your service, otherwise they'll close the account when the service runs out.
Thanks. I'll give them another call on my lunch break. If its always going to be a hassle like this I think I will just do the auto refill after the 3 month card runs out. Saving $5 bucks a month is not worth the hassle. Still love the service for the price.

No problem.
Glad the CS worked for you. I had them run through my account and fix a few issues when they added the card too, so we'll see if I'm able to add a refill to reserve online come the end of this month. I have no problem doing it once a month to save a few $$ if I can do it without calling.
So I think they accidentally added the time to my account twice because now it says I am covered until April, which is like 6 months. Wondering if I should say anything...

What'll probably happen is once they actually take the PIN and apply it to the account (which is when this month ends), it'll then be invalid for the next time it tries to apply it.
It'll likely correct itself. If it doesn't change in 10 days when you start that PIN, you make the call on whether or not to call them rofl.

Holy crap I just got the same thing today! Scared the hell out of me. The top of the letter states that Recently, you reported your Everywhere Reward MasterCard lost or stolen. Attached is your replacement Card.
Freaked the crap out of me! I've had some random issues with someone else with the same name as me, so I was concerned it was an ID Fraud issue. I called to activate and check it out, and noticed by the balance that I guessed it to be my Google Wallet prepaid card replacement. But why the heck would it come as a "Lost or stolen card replacement"? Oh, and it was listed as from "IRR CREAM".
Very strange, indeed!
Wow, just found this post while searching the web for who the hell this company is. Why would Google do the refunds this way? Scared the **** out of me.
Same thing here...freaked me out a bit, but kinda had a feeling it was for Google Wallet since I got an email a couple of days ago saying the refund was on its way. Just odd that the envelope or the letter did not have any reference to Google whatsoever.
WTF I just activated it and my balance is 0 dollars! this is a scam!!! nooooooooooooooo
Edit: So I checked through my supposed transactions and there were 5 inactivity charges of 2 dollars that basically depleted the amount of 10$ that I was going to receive, therefore the card has 0$ left on it. I should have opted for the check.
Haha, I got one too and wondered what it was. Especially since it said I had reported a card stolen. I had $10 still from my nexus 7 and $1.30 from my galaxy nexus. Guess which one I got (hint I can buy 1 mcdouble with it ) . Doubtful the $10 shows up, but we'll see.

Glad I'm not the only one who was a little freaked out by this card. Found a similar post on androidcentral. I got the mail just as I was going out with friends so I didn't have much time to deal with it but i spent the rest of the day thinking my identity had been stolen or something. All that stress for $10!
I got the same thing! What's even weirder is the fact that the "From:" field says "IRR CREAM". Instant Rebate Rushed; Cash Rules Everything Around Me?
Got my check last week
Thanks for posting this! This thread is now high in the google search results for "IRR CREAM", which is the first thing I googled when I got this sketchy-as-hell credit card in the mail.
IRR Cream
I got one today and was wondering what the heck it was but needed the money so I took the chance and activated it, I had 25 on mine so I went to the store and it worked. Good for Google, I have always loved their services and now am even more a fan. yay Google Thank You!
ya.. thank god for the interweb. Hm.. I don't like that google used this company. Need to provide your address and info for a cash card? Alright. Hopefully when I go to spend my $1.20, they don't expect my ID to say Gina Talia.
I got the card thinking it must be a rebate card from all the computer parts I've been buying but was baffled by the wording. Then a few days after I spent it I received an email from Google explaining that it was my Google wallet refund. They apologized for the confusing description in the paperwork. Just glad I got the free money

They only need your info if you plan to make online purchases, since most online stores check if your name and address match the one on the card that you're using
I added my card back to my Google Wallet.....hehe...

Hi. If i get my Nexus 7 from Best buy will it work with a T mobile sim card?. Preferably the new free data plan from T mobile? I just attempted to purchase one in store and they said they couldnt sell it to me unless I activated with there with ATT. But I can go t the website and purchase it. I do not wont to go through the hassle of returning it to best buy if I don't have to . Thanks for your help!

That's a BS from Best Buy Cellular Department - they will ALWAYS try ANYTHING to "activate" something.
I got the same crap at Best Buy, even when I told the BB personnel that the N7 have an UNLOCKED version. He said nope. So in front of him, I pulled my laptop, BOUGHT the N7 unlocked for store picked up. Showed to him, and LOUDLY told him what I did in front of other customer.
The look at his face - priceless...
PS: I am using the N7 LTE with T-Mobile SIM card. The SIM card was bought directly from T-Mobile website when they were selling it for $0.99.

Thank you! I thought it was kinda funny when it didnt say anything at all about activation on the websites checkout. Before we came to that step she asked me if I wanted to buy a case for it. I said " No, I hate to say this but your prices for cases are extremely high." She agreed with me. The guy she asked fr help looked at something on a a monitor and said that this versiong had an att chip. I said "But its unlocked." She said that the register wouldnt let her go any further. I told her would just go back home and order it from there. She said that was probably a good idea.

I had a little trouble with getting my N7 too. They kept asking me if I wanted to sign onto a plan, and I had to keep reminding them that the N7 LTE is an unlocked device. After hassling and almost 30 minutes bypassing some BS about activation, from the associate. I was able to get it. AFAIK, there is a way to get it, without having to activate a plan.
Just order from Bestbuy.com and choose store pick-up.
BB get commission for each activation, just like non-corporate cellphone stores, so they'll say anything to get you to sign-up.
And BB is wondering why they are losing against online retailer...
I must have been lucky. I didn't have to deal with the hard sell when I bought mine. I just showed them the SKU for the unlocked Nexus 7 LTE from my phone and told them I needed it for my T-mobile data sim and they just rang it up for me. They didn't even try to force the extended warranty on me once I told them I didn't want it.
I heard that the t mobile nexus 7 lte that just came out 11-20 has the bootloader already unlocked. Does anyone know if this is true?
Thankyou!

Ah, that's the "secret" - showing them the SKU.

T-Mobile? Why bother with it? Just get the UNLOCKED N7 LTE. This is the SAME ONE as the ones sold by Google from Google Play. It's unlocked - SIM and bootloader.
I did as advised and I am happy. I purchased online and went back to the same store 65 miles away. I know that crazy but i am off this weekend and want to play with it. No muss , no fuss. In and out. Then drove back to my town and had it activated. Of course tmobile has an over sell too. They said they are adding a 2.5 gb plan for the first month for free and then i can cancel. So I figured yea what the hell I have enough sense to cancel a plan. Thats what calendars are for. Plus the one day wait allowed me to cath it on sale for 319. So maybe I broke even on the gas. Thanks for the great advice!

I haven't heard of one coming unlocked from the factory, but it's very easy to unlock it yourself. You can use WugFresh Nexus Root Toolkit, or as I do it, use "fastboot oem unlock" from a command line (once you have fastboot downloaded and the proper drivers installed).
Note that unlocking wipes all user data...
