Maybe we could put that under ICS Flagship, can't seem to edit the poll.
There's a bunch. Love the shape. Love the screen, faults and all. But for me, it's a Nexus and the flagship for the OS that puts Android--in my opinion--over the top.

The resolution by far.
Looking at any other phone looks silly in-comparison for the sheer lack-luster resolution alone.
being able to screen grab without needing to root the device. I guess that would be flagship ICS right?

Check out the Pics thread a couple slots down. People can take some amazing pictures with this camera if you know what you are doing.
It was a touch choice, but I picked ICS Flagship. I chose the Nexus because I liked that while my phone will fall behind hardware wise in a few months, the software will always stay current. After the T-Mobile/Vibrant fiasco, this was really important.
The screen is a very close second. I love AMOLED and the size of the screen. Also like the warm color tone. Reading with the Kindle app and in night mode is really easy on the eyes.

It isn't a 'plus' display. It's an HD Super AMOLED. 'Plus' displays have an RGB matrix, while our phone has a PenTile matrix.
That being said, the screen is probably my favorite feature. The sheer resolution is amazing.

Don't get me wrong because I have a Galaxy nexus and I absolutely love it to death. I actually own all three of them and all are in mint condition. I have to say that the Nexus 1 is still better looking than the other two. It never functioned perfectly but I like to think of them as Super cars. They are pure in form but always have something wrong with them. The buttons on the Nexus one make me crazy. I sometimes have to push them multiple times to get them to work. The Nexus S looks all sexy and black but it crashes a lot and sometimes the screen does some very odd stuff. I have actually seen it sit cocked a quarter turn. The Galaxy Nexus is a great looking phone and mine so far has restarted itself, doesn't like my router, and drops volume yet I don't care its amazing. And I think its crap that Verizon is messing with the google pure experience that makes my gsm unlocked worth the $750 that I paid for it.

Thats a given that the n1 would be slower than the ns and that slower than the GN.
Yeah I also owned all three (don't have the nexus one anymore) and I think that the nexus one was the best built phone.
It felt good when holding it and the design was nice. It's was the perfect size except for the screen size ofcourse.
If I had to put them in order of "likeness" it would be
- Nexus One
- Galaxy Nexus
- Nexus S

I have only ever owned the latest out of the Nexus phones, so I can't say anything as far as performance or build quality is considered.
But in terms of industrial design, I think it goes Galaxy Nexus > Nexus S > Nexus One from best to worst looking.
I think the Galaxy Nexus is very mature and classy looking, one reason I decided to move from SGS2 to the SGN. The Nexus S looked okay but somehow looked like a bastardized Galaxy S phone. I thought the Nexus One looked really funky with the mismatched paintjob and overly rounded corners.
I have to say the Nexus One is probably the best built of them all though, I'm pretty unhappy with the rear cover on the SGN - I was happy with the rear cover on the SGS2 because even thought it feels cheap it actually wasn't... the SGN flexes in the center of the rear cover, and the Google logo on the back isn't entirely flush which makes it kind of weird to hold if your finger is rubbing on the logo.

My Nexus One had poor radio performance and couldn't get a signal in my office.
I couldn't press directly on the capacitive buttons, I had to touch slightly above them for them to work.
I have no idea why, but it is still my favorite phone.
Just recently sold it to help pay for the new Nexus
Must say the nexus s is nicer to hold but that's probably due to the size difference between them I've owned lots of large phones desire HD and the sgs 2 and the galaxy nexus to me falls on the borderline of acceptable size ...still love it tho just harder to use single handed.

Anyone feel like that the Galaxy 3 should have came out with a 5.0" screen instead of 4.8"? I feel like that a 4.8" screen is still too small to do things like access office documents or remotely connect to a PC from our GS3. Can anyone else think about what the GS3 should have came with in terms of specs?

You might want to look into the Galaxy Note if u need something bigger

5.0" is definitely too big. Even 4.8" is too big for my thumb to easily reach the top left of the screen. I'd recommend getting a Galaxy Note if you want something bigger.

no.
I started with the HTC hero and thought the size was good, then I got the Epic which had a 4" screen. Now I thought 4" was big and told myself I don't need any bigger, then epic touch comes out with 4.5" screen, and I grew really fond of it. Now this device comes out with 4.8" and I think this is definitely the largest I'm going.
The note is freaking huge and yes, I've played with it. The screen is nice, but when you're using the phone up to your head, when it's really big, it starts looking, well, stupid.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Definitely not; I already think 4.8" is a bit too large. The kind of tasks you want to do would be far better suited for the Nexus 7.

Eh, all the AMOLED tablets pretty much suck since they're stuffed with Touchwiz (tablet version sucks) which slow them down incredibly.
And the difference between AMOLED and LCD is really miniscule, so unless you care about blacks being a little bit deeper, it doesn't matter.
If you don't believe me, go to a store and try the Nexus 7 - - Once you actually see the screen, you'll be able to make a clear decision.
It's as if the colors and the screen pops more up while ours looks great but not as popped up and more in depth and concave sort of way. As if there is a grainy screen that's all like gauss covering the screen. Why did they opt for a cheaper crappier screen on the GNex?

Yes, the SGS3's screen is also pentile, note the lack of plus at the end of Super AMOLED HD.
Different colour profile, different Q/A requirements (Have you noticed that there is very little black in touchwizz UX, maybe to avoid the low brightness blacks become purple issue).
Tweaks made to the panels and manufacturing process after doing them in blunk for the gnexus?
All of the above?
Your guess is as good as mine

Agreed.
Believe it or not there is a point where too much saturation is bad. It starts to look entirely unnatural. I'm happy where the saturation levels are at with my Nexus currently, still more vibrant than any LCD screen, but not to the point where everything looks like someone took the saturation dial and cranked it to max.

I agree it's design looks creepy, metaphorically speaking.
IMO the Nexus 4 looks like a fake Gnex, but I'm sure it's looks will grow on me.
Well, to my mind, the idea of those dots on back side is good, it looks new and unusual (I mean new in the mobile phone world, generally it reminds some old Chinese toys), but for me it has some significant shortcomings:
straight. Galaxy Nexus has a kind of wave there, and a small hill at the bottom helped to grab it more confident, this one appears to be hold only due to glass-to-skin rubbing;
glass. If you don't like fingerprints and tried to clean the front side of GN every time after touching it, now you have to clean both sides and you just cannot hold it without setting you fingerprints everywhere.
feel. Cold glass is going to feel much more impersonal and indifferent, than the GN's plastic, even if it is not soft-touch.
So I would say it looks more weird, than creepy.
Don't worry. Once it gets dropped a couple times the sparkley look will change to the shattered look.
The only creepy part is when you drop it the wrong way; the dots will be replaced by jagged lines.
Well the back glass is supposed to be a Lil sunk in from the band around it.... not sure if that matters. So when it lays on the table the glass won't be touching it. So maybe it will protect it somewhat

The we don't have this or that threads are people just being nitpicky #FirstWorldPains?
It's an amazing device.... the screen is beautiful 5.55" of a NONPENTILE Super AMOLED, stellar battery life. The quad core exynos CPU and jelly bean makes the user experience super fluid. People are also saying that the phone is too big but personally that's why I like it so much - it makes my old iPhone4S look like a toy.

Best feature this phone has is Android. Hands Down.
Slap a giant screen on an iPhone and it still is tied to iOS. Can't fix that one.
But on the serious side, the best feature to me, is the marriage of a Large screen and the extra sensitive S Pen. The large screen is great, but anyone can do a large screen. And an S Pen is great too, but it would be crap on a screen any smaller than 5" or so. Can you even imagine trying to use an S Pen on a screen the size of iPhone?
Everything else that Sammy did to make the S Pen and Screen marriage work well is important too, as without all the other pieces, this phone would leave something to complain about.
-Waitin on multiscreen, CP
Awesome screen, awesome battery, so much horsepower and gps that really works (coming from ET4G that never locked)...
