Anyone feel like??? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Anyone feel like that the Galaxy 3 should have came out with a 5.0" screen instead of 4.8"? I feel like that a 4.8" screen is still too small to do things like access office documents or remotely connect to a PC from our GS3. Can anyone else think about what the GS3 should have came with in terms of specs?

I'm content with 4.8"
You might want to look into the Galaxy Note if u need something bigger
Sent From My Sprint Galaxy S3

5.0" is definitely too big. Even 4.8" is too big for my thumb to easily reach the top left of the screen. I'd recommend getting a Galaxy Note if you want something bigger.

The only problem is that there is no galaxy note for sprint.

GALAXY note 2 being announced the 16th

go buy a tablet!

I really wanted the note but did not like the UI. The Note is not just a bigger phone, it is a whole different beast.
I would have liked a bigger screen then 4.8.

The GS3 is the biggest phone I'll ever convince myself to own.

no.

I started with the HTC hero and thought the size was good, then I got the Epic which had a 4" screen. Now I thought 4" was big and told myself I don't need any bigger, then epic touch comes out with 4.5" screen, and I grew really fond of it. Now this device comes out with 4.8" and I think this is definitely the largest I'm going.
The note is freaking huge and yes, I've played with it. The screen is nice, but when you're using the phone up to your head, when it's really big, it starts looking, well, stupid.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

Definitely not; I already think 4.8" is a bit too large. The kind of tasks you want to do would be far better suited for the Nexus 7.

4.8 is actually pretty big
but it doesnt FEEL big lol.
that note 2 sounds pretty good. hopefully it's a couple feet in diagonal (sarcasm)

Yeah, me too.....If there were a way to have a bigger screen but a smaller phone that would be perfect, but I don't think I'd want to hold anything bigger.

Eh, all the AMOLED tablets pretty much suck since they're stuffed with Touchwiz (tablet version sucks) which slow them down incredibly.
And the difference between AMOLED and LCD is really miniscule, so unless you care about blacks being a little bit deeper, it doesn't matter.
If you don't believe me, go to a store and try the Nexus 7 - - Once you actually see the screen, you'll be able to make a clear decision.

There's a bunch. Love the shape. Love the screen, faults and all. But for me, it's a Nexus and the flagship for the OS that puts Android--in my opinion--over the top.

The resolution by far.
Looking at any other phone looks silly in-comparison for the sheer lack-luster resolution alone.
being able to screen grab without needing to root the device. I guess that would be flagship ICS right?

Check out the Pics thread a couple slots down. People can take some amazing pictures with this camera if you know what you are doing.
It was a touch choice, but I picked ICS Flagship. I chose the Nexus because I liked that while my phone will fall behind hardware wise in a few months, the software will always stay current. After the T-Mobile/Vibrant fiasco, this was really important.
The screen is a very close second. I love AMOLED and the size of the screen. Also like the warm color tone. Reading with the Kindle app and in night mode is really easy on the eyes.

It isn't a 'plus' display. It's an HD Super AMOLED. 'Plus' displays have an RGB matrix, while our phone has a PenTile matrix.
That being said, the screen is probably my favorite feature. The sheer resolution is amazing.

The we don't have this or that threads are people just being nitpicky #FirstWorldPains?
It's an amazing device.... the screen is beautiful 5.55" of a NONPENTILE Super AMOLED, stellar battery life. The quad core exynos CPU and jelly bean makes the user experience super fluid. People are also saying that the phone is too big but personally that's why I like it so much - it makes my old iPhone4S look like a toy.

Pixel density is lower but gs3 is pentile I believe. This has some hybrid pixel arrangement. Though, I never saw a gs3.

Honestly I think I'm still in partial shock that I'm walking around with a Quad Core in my pocket. There's something ridiculous about that... also the display and once Sprint LTE kicks in in SF, I'm going to be lording it over my colleagues.

Best feature this phone has is Android. Hands Down.
Slap a giant screen on an iPhone and it still is tied to iOS. Can't fix that one.
But on the serious side, the best feature to me, is the marriage of a Large screen and the extra sensitive S Pen. The large screen is great, but anyone can do a large screen. And an S Pen is great too, but it would be crap on a screen any smaller than 5" or so. Can you even imagine trying to use an S Pen on a screen the size of iPhone?
Everything else that Sammy did to make the S Pen and Screen marriage work well is important too, as without all the other pieces, this phone would leave something to complain about.
-Waitin on multiscreen, CP
Awesome screen, awesome battery, so much horsepower and gps that really works (coming from ET4G that never locked)...

Rarely. Operating it with one hand while trying to type can be tough, but that's the only complaint I've had.
I find the size troublesome about 5 minutes a week, which is worth the tradeoff of loving the size the other 6 days, 23 hours, and 55 minutes.

Will you ever own a "normal" sized phone again?

This may be a repost, but if you don't feel like repeating... Don't lol.
I've been with my Note 2 for about 3 weeks now and this is truly one of the best "first experiences" with a mobile device I've had. I've been rocking a screen in my pocket since the old Windows "Palm top" days. Remember those Windows CE devices that looked like tiny laptops? I Even had a compact flash 56k modem (maybe 28.8?). Now that was the sh*t.
So yeah maybe some of the "first" mobile devices back then did blow me away, but man I freakin love this phone!
I picked up and played with my Evo3D and I just dont think I could ever go back. Holding a "normal" sized phone just feels inferior. Not to mention having the Spen. I "grew up" using a stylus so having it is just a huge bonus. Granted a good multitouch, capacitive touch screen is great and practically makes a stylus unnecessary. It's still great to have it when you want it.
So how about you? Can you go back to a 4.0-4.5 inch screen? Or are you a permanent convert?

I was going to wait for the gs4 but I'm so happy I made my move to this device. And by the looks of it that device is only going to be a 1.8ghz quad core with no Spen and smaller anyway so I don't think I'm going to regret not waiting lol! I dont think I could go back to a 4.5 or 4.75 screen. I could see myself trying out the GS4 just because it should have a 5" screen. I love my Note and the screen. I don't think I could go smaller but if I had to, a 5" screen would be my limit. And the only reason I would consider that is because occasionally the Note does not fit my shirt pockets lol.

I was an iPhone lover all the way. Got a new one every 2 years and was just now waiting for the next one to come out and I was going to buy it but then I saw the NOTE and in 5 seconds I had made up my mind to buy it and sell the iPhone. Bear in mind it wasn't JUST an iphone for I have a Macbook Pro, Apple TV, iPod docs, and so on..........but it was gone in a flash and I could never buy a phone smaller than this one, the Note 2. I also picked up a Note 1 I got brand new in the box, unopened for only $125 and threw it on another plan.
I do have an S3 which is almost as big but I am here just to find out how to root it and then I am going to sell it on a forum in my home city although its a great phone, its not as big as the note so i wouldn't keep it

People we are all different by design, just because you're tall with big hands doesn't mean you carry a big screen device, vice versa. People carry the phones they do because they like it physical differences are irrelevant. If you don't like the device then you shouldn't keep it past the return period,I think it's safe to say people communicating in a note II specific forum don't find the device size an issue......

Three weeks with this thing, and it just seems to get easier and easier to hold. The first and second day was a little painful, especially when I tried one handed use like I did with my Nexus 4, and then I realized that it wasn't possible. With that in mind, it is perfectly fine.

Yeah I'm actually the same height and from time to time I feel the same way. It's only when I'm using it one handed, which my hand can manage easily and reach across the screen.. but only by holding the phone precariously, which becomes annoying sometimes.especially considering how big my damn hands are. Everything is so damn pleasing about the phone though that it's hard to really dwell on that. It's only occasionally though, I feel you.
