Ive tried taking the battery out, i even installed the samsung drivers, nothing, my old sgs2 just connected perfectly to my laptop. What can i do

Well uninstall the drivers and reinstall them
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
use usbdeview to uninstall all the samsung and android related stuff and then plug your phone back in
btw try a different usb port too
Try installing samsung kies software on your PC. I believe the software installs all the samsung drivers.

Tried it already, and ive also tried different usb cables and nothing, dammit ive beem having such bad luck lately
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
did you try usbdeview? because thats different from uninstalling drivers. It looks like it was interrupted when trying to install the phone, so you would need to remove any of those incomplete stuff using usbdeview. it has happen to me several times and usbdeview fixes it.
I ried kies... Nada, right now im about to try usbdeview, fingers crossed

it should work.
I'm not sure of the correct lingo or anything but simply... removing drivers does not remove what is installed when you plug in the usb; therefore, you need to remove what was installed (or incomplete installs). That is what USBDeview is for. And based on that picture. I'm pretty sure that is the case. good luck!
Nope no luck, this just frustrated the hell out of me, Im going out to drink a couple of beers to relieve some stress. Thank you all for responding if you all can think of anything else let me know, I'll be back tomorrow to try again.

ahhh that sucks, you said your previous t989 worked right? so it shouldn't be the issue with drivers. I would suggest trying to install the drivers from one of the rooting threads onto another computer and try plugging it in. Not kies. I remember installing kies caused problems for me. But yeah try a different computer.. if that fails too it's probably the phone.

Any body have this issue? I have tried everything multiple hard resets, clearing cache/data and uninstalling updates. I have searched and found nothing in regards to this issue only that people reported apps came back after a few days, mine on the other hand has been weeks so I have to manually search for my updates which sucks. Any ideas would be much appreciated I'm running complete stock and have sent multiple emails to Google's support team or what they call support with no answers

How or when did this happen? Did you just open the market one day and see this or was it after a new phone or rom flash? Did you check the market website and try clearing out the registered devices?

Thank you very much going to gibe it a go right after the Vikings game, I did go to the online market and its weird it shows all the phones I've ever used and carrier being sprint but on the sph-d710 it shows no carrier little odd
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Made the call, they say this is a known issue affecting any and all phones on all carriers with a fix in the works, not sure if I can completely buy in on this as no one else here has the same issue (so far) and none of my customers have had the issue either. Hopefully no one else is affected but it seems like it could be random

I'm trying to unroot my phone from CM9 alpha 5 because of some issues with the phone not fully shutting down, poor battery life and notifications not working when I get text messages.
However, my computer is not recognizing my phone at all. It charges but that's about it. I've tried reinstalling drivers, using different cables, and the USB switcher app but still not having any luck.

Try a different cable, make sure you have the correct drivers on your computer, download Zatta USB Switcher from the Play Store.

Guys,
Do you think this can be a software problem? My nexus is still charging while is not connected. I don't want to do factory reset I want to keep it as an last option.

I feel your pain buddy, I had a similar thing happen to me. Head to my thread and follow osmosis' advice and for me that solved by charging issues http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086226. Also I'd get your self back to stock rom before you USB completely gives up for warranty reasons

I don't think so. Looks like a hardware problem. Check your USB port.

Ok thanks. I'll try to test it some time and then probably have to send it to Samsung. I tried to clean the port using compressed air but no success unfortunately.../cry
Thank you guys!
I have had this happen twice. Only fix was to wipe everything. I mean everything... then flash stock 4.2.1. Then flash what you like

Hi everyone,
So as the tittle says my phone isn't being recognized. I think this is due to the fact that I enabled fast charge ONE time and now ever since it won't let me access my internal SD card. Does anybody have any idea of what I can do? Thanks in advance
If it helps I'm running orca project with Trinity kernel.
I've been looking around I read that reflashing the ROM might fix it but I only wanna have to do this as a last resort if somebody doesn't know what to do.

If it helps I think that my USB port is broken in some way. It charges but I can't get my phone recognized on 2 different computers even after flashing 2 different ROMs. So I ended up using air droid to copy all files to my computer then to my Nexus 4.
