** Please HELP**I never had a problem with my 32 gb microsd while plugged in phone or adapter and now it only shows in PC when in adapter(micro>SD>Usb adapter).
Yesterday I was on 4.0.A.42 firmware and i flashed to 4.0.A 0.62 briefly before trying the new GB Mixer custom rom(GB_Mixer_Play_PLUS_EX) and when I decided to go back to stock .42 fw(R800i) my SD stopped showing up. The SD memory shows up in phone as nothing is lost & if I put it in adapter it shows and files can be transferred. The phone is charging while plugged to PC via USB but no SD.???
Also...i should mention that I have a 1gb ext. 4 partition thats reserved & has been on SD for a while so that I can link apps to partition with Link2SD app, but this is not new & shouldnt matter.
I dont know if maybe I deleted a system app that is responsible for my phone being seen on PC, because I have a 2nd Xperia Play on .42 fw and DOOMkernel v.10 and the SD is seen by PC fine so I assume its not driver issue.
Any help?? Sorry for not explaining clearly or if its not related.

[Q] How to unroot a xperia Play

Hello. I have a question. How may I unroot a phone ? I have lots of problems after I made a root (PC doesn't see my phone ). I want to get back - but i don't want make a wipe (i have a lot of things which i don't want to lose [sms, mail's, saves to games etc.] ) . I made root making a downgrade -> Gingerbreak -> OTA. I must do it again and use option i gingerbreak "Unroot" ? Or maybe someone help me with connection problem ? Two PC doesn't see connected phone and on phone there is no indormation about connection .
Download unroot on Android market
I used the XDA App to post this, what did you use?
I'm made unroot using gingerbreak but it still doesn't saw my phone and phone doesn't saw connoction (only battery is charging when I swap connection type in options). I'm made wipe - and it doesn't help ! Could enyone have any idea ?
Anyone have idea what I need to do to make working usb connection ?
I've had the same problem with the usb connection...it's either you rooted your phone and deleted a couple of apps or your memory card is having problems being read... what I tried was unmounting your memory card from the settings menu (settings>storage>unmount sd card) then connect your usb after unmounting the sd.
I tried it with another empty sd card and without card - and it doesn't make a diffrence... Still nothing.

[Q] USB and SD on Xperia Play not working

Hey whats up you guys!
I just bought a Xperia Play and a have a problem...
The SD was working fine, i had tested two of them. So i plug the phone on the computer to access the SD and surprise, surprise, nothing happened. I mean, the battery was recharging but the PC do not find the Phone/SD and the Phone do not recognize USB mode or something like that, it was just recharging. Then, from out of nothing, the phone stop recognizing the SD. When i try to mount it, it works for a couple of seconds and then the phone unmount the SD.
I have formated both SDs to Fat, Fat32 and NTFS but still dont work.
Any ideas about what is this?
Thank you very much!
Update: After several "factory reset", Xperia Play is mounting the SD card, but USB still doesn't work.
try this

Enable USB debugging and check your drivers on your PC.
Also if you have modded your phone you might have to reflash your recovery image because it sounds like a driver problem.

I've tried in "USB Debug" but still doesnt work. And what drivers should i check for? I dont think the problem is in my PC cause i have tried in another one.
The thing is i bout this phone from a guy so it isnt new, but i dont think it was "modded" - at least doesnt seem like it was.
And lets say that i would have to reflash it, how would i do it without USB?
Thanks!
sounds like it might be broke

This will be a problem cause there is none Sony's authorized place and the others are not that good. I guess i will just return the phone :/
Anyways, thanks for your support!
Before you return it just download PC companion and install it then plug in the phone and see if it is recognized then and if not then yea probably hardware problem
sent from my Sony Ericsson Xperia Play™(r800x) Running Slimbean 3.0 using Tapatalk 2™
yup pc companion worth a try
If that dont work try this. Power the phone off and hold the back button while connecting it if it does it would confirm its a software problem.
I had tried with PC Companion and it does not work either :/
So... I turned the phone off and connected it pressing the back button. Something different happened... The screen dont turn on. I mean, the light on the power button gets on but the screen do not. Anyways, the PC still dont recognize nothing.
As i said i have tested other cable and other PC but this other cable is from Lumia 710. Both are micro-USB but Lumia's dont have that thing near to the connections. I have also tested the Sony Ericsson's cable on Lumia and it works fine. But anyway, is there any chance of the problem be the cable? I have found a thread with a problem like this and the guy have tested other "working" cable and it still doesn't worked but when he tried a third cable it worked.
Its pretty weird that in whole internet there is so few problems like this lol
And again, thank you all for the support!
Edit:
I check out the "liveware" when i plug the phone into computer and it recognize as charger.
By the way, my device have Android 2.3.3. Shouldn't it have Android 2.3.4?
try doing this, mount the sd card. right click on my computer select > manage> choose storage>disk management. now look for your sd card space,(eg. if ur sd card is 8gb then look for a space or disk showing 7.45GB or whatever u card size is) right click and select change drive letters and path, now select add and assign a letter from the list for ur drive and now ur sd card must be visible.

Have you tried accessing the connectivity settings on your phone maybe auto mount has been switched off so either turn it back on or click mount if not try media transfer mode. If none of these work there is a fault possible software or hardware. Also make sure liveware is not set to charge only when connected to the computer

Android 2.3.4 is the latest official release for the xperia play however both are just as good i think 2.3.4 had some memory optimizations made

You mean in "Sony Ericsson/connectivity"? If yes, there is no such thing of auto mount in my device. And about Liveware, i cant find this option of "charge only". I have tryed mtf mode, but doesn't work either.
Anyways, i dont think is a configuration problem cause i have wiped the phone several times.
About a "software problem", would be possible to fix it have said that the computer dont even know that the device was plugged in?
Thank you guys!

Not transferring correctly

Hello guys. before you all say I know Dan closed all his work but still maybe someone can help me. I've flashed the Jellyzeus r5 to my Xperia Play R800i used the recommended kernel Turbo kernel 3.1. Everything seemed to work normal but when I plugged the phone to my Windows 7 Ultimate 64x and copied some apps and some music and then unplugged it and opened the music player I saw that I didn't had any on my phone so then I checked things with a file explorer and nothing was showing up. I shot down the phone and restarted it and the files ware there. I put some more file and try this again but this time the file didn't even show up like the last time. I used my laptop to check but the same thing happens all over windows sad everything copied without any error.

what was the status of the phone during your file transfer? was it in usb mass storage mode? if it was there is an issue i encounter that when the phone is connected to the computer it does not show anything in any way (when using ics/jb) but when i unplug my phone waited for the sd card to be detected again by the phone files are there, have you check if media transfer mode is available on your current rom?

[Q] [HELP] Some photos/videos deleted

Hey guys!
I was at a concert last night and took some photos/videos with my ZL. But when I tried to transfer them to my computer, I got some problems. All I did was:
> Connected my ZL to PC via usb in MTP mode
> Created a new folder in my computer
> Opened the desired folder (in this case, Internal Strorage > DCIM > 100ANDRO)
> Then, I simply dragged the 100ANDRO folder to the new one I created
But after doing this, some trouble: the 100ANDRO disappeared from my phone internal storage and appeared EMPTY inside the folder I created before. Result: I've lost all the photos and videos.
I don't even know if I'm posting on the right area, but all I want is to recover the disappeared files. Tried to google a solution. I even found it, but for that I have to root my phone, and I don't want to do this 'cause it's in warranty period yet.
Questions: Can I have my photos/videos back without rooting my phone? If I really have to root it to have my photos/videos back, what I have to do? Do someone knows what happened? PLEASE HELP MEEEE :crying:
@EDIT
Okay, I realized that the only way is rooting my phone. Can anyone explain step-to-step or indicate a thread that a noob can understand?

I'm using 4.4, with 10.5.A.0.230.
you removed device without close usb conection.
It's normal lose data when do this way.
that things were on SD, i think you'll see nomore. Or, use another ZL and copy the original files.

I didn't remove the device before I realized the trouble I was in. By the way, I've done this process so many times before and never had a problem like this, always safely removing my device.
The photos and videos were on Internal Storage. If them were on the SD card, I think I could recover the files; but since I can't connect my ZL in USB Mass Storage mode, pc applications can't scan it to try to recover the files.
I found some ways to try to recover the files w/ an application named DiskDigger, for Android. But in order to use it, I have to root my device first. Anyone ever used this app? Does it really works? What's the best, safely or simply way to root my device for a noob like me? I'm using a C6503 running 4.4 on 10.5.A.0.230 with unlocked bootloader.

According to some information I found over the internet, Google disabled Mass Storage mode in newer Android versions.

Yep. But the Internal Storage isn't available in Mass Storage mode, only the SD card. Since the photos I want to recover were on the internal storage, it don't works for me.
Can you indicate me the best/easier way to root my phone?

I tried to follow the instructions in the link you posted, but I have problems with the second step. It redirects me to this thread, but since I don't have recovery and can't flash the kernel that is disponibilized, I got an error that says that it cant write the boot 'cause remote command is not allowed or something like this. So, I can't flash the kernel with recovery and can't root. Some tips about this?
you must have a unlocked bootloader.
i think your is locked.
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* . Then go to -> "Service Info" -> "Configuration". If there is:
Bootloader unlock allowed - Yes << this means that your Bootloader is Locked
Bootloader Unlocked - Yes << this means that your bootloader is unlocked

Ok, so my device allows me to unlock my bootloader... I read in somewhere here in xda that having my bootloader unlocked cause the loss of the Bravia Engine 2. Is it really true? Or it's a risk that may occur?

[Q] swapped (as shown by ramprasad5394) now all aps stopped

Hi,
Sorry, newbie here.
I rooted my c1905 4.3 with towelroot.
Worked fine.
Then tried this swap method for internal and external memory
There is already a script to swap internal with external memory. i just made it to work at boot without SManager
This is just for the stock ROM!!
how to install:
1.remove SManager if u already have it
2.flash the zip in recovery OR edit the files like i did
what i did:
place the script in system/etc/init.d (script is not mine. credits to whoever made it )
edited init.qcom.post_boot.sh and added the line sh /system/etc/init.d/ext2sd
this will execute the script post boot.
any script can be executed using this method , so it kinda provides init.d support to stock ROMS

My phone rebooted (don't ask me why, I don't know) and now all my apps have stopped working (except google play and google chrome).
Can't acces my file browser anymore to delete changes made, and when connected to pc it only shows my sd-card contents.
UPDATE: Chrome and play store also stopped
Help?
Flasg a stock android ftf through flashtool
Wouldn't know how to do that.
But fixed it by rebooting without my sd card inserted. And then undo all the changes made.
But thanx for the reply
