Ok, so I found this site that sells wholesale electronics called ElecStreet. It says you can purchase an unlocked SGS II Epic 4G Touch for $202.50 at the lowest "VIP" price.
I need to know if this looks legit or if anyone has purchased merchandise from this site.
The site also says if you buy two items and spend over $400, you get a free iPod Touch or Sony PSP. ???
Please feel free to investigate!

Yep.
On the bottom, their "certifications" stickers are not clickable to verify, which they should be. And their one "Verify" button points to some Chinese website.
Fake. Not a Doubt

I can tell you that they are a China based company. That being said I know nothing else about them, and everything they sell looks in now way legit AT ALL.
For example:
http://www.elecstreet.com/views.asp?hw_id=2485
That is an Apple iMac MC814LL/A for $399(359.10 VIP according to them) That is a $2000 Apple computer. No way in hell a company even at wholesale would ever be able to sell that computer for even their non-VIP price.
They also advertise
http://www.elecstreet.com/views.asp?hw_id=2454
That is a Sony VAIO Z Series VGN-Z591U which retails for $3200-$3400 and they want under $400 for it. Not even possible to obtain it for that price, even if they got it straight from the Sony factory.
My official statement is they are going to take your money and hide in their country, and you will be forced to dispute the claim with your bank.
Yeah don't do it bro. You will send money to them and u wont see anything.

if you do decide to buy one from here, use paypal. your protected. if you dont get your order you file a claim and if its bogus, paypal will investigate and refund you your purchase amount.
this is why i buy crap on ebay from china sellers. if its a fake phone you get, you also get a refund because they are advertising it as legit. take a screen shot of the page before you buy.

I have found that they are a real Trading company in China, they have a phone number, physical address and live chat support that is not automated or a bot.
The live chat person said that PayPal was not available until AFTER the first purchase which is through Western Union.
I can't find any bad reviews or customers saying it is a scam or that they had an issue with the site.
I just don't know.
Ummm hello! That yells you right there, pay by western union, lmao! I hate for you to lose your money, but I won't feel bad for you as there are plenty of people warning you!
Once you pay via western union then you can use paypal, LOL that is a good one!!!

Oh, and the reason you don't see bad reviews is they will burn that site out in a week, change a few pics and make a new site. They post on craigslist all the time, same crap!

the sketchy part is the western union. i mean, the whole site is sketchy, but paypal is safe. if you have to do western union first then i wouldnt do it. you might be able to check with paypal to see if they have any complaints against the site.

I mad this way back in October and kept it as a backup in case Handtec didn't come through but seeing as they did get it, already have my money, and are cheaper I'm canceling this one and going with them.
For anyone in the US who still wants to order one despite the SAV issue and doesn't want to deal with making an international order they're another viable option.
Don't know if 750 is viable.. what a mark up.

They're just passing the import fees along to the consumer and trying to make a $30-$40 profit like Negri did. Personally I have no problem going through a UK retailer but a lot of folks were hesitant.
I just received the same email too.
They were actually expecting stocks due next Monday. It looks like it arrived earlier.
For the price, I think it is OK. There is a $20 coupon which brings the total down to 729, plus they do not charge tax outside IL.
I just placed an order through expanys usa, only because my bank was blocking transactions though Handtec due to "fraud", which is rubbish because they are a legit company. Anyway Expansys charged me for shipping, while advertising free shipping, also none of the coupon codes worked (10OFFLC nor 20OFFLC).
I believe it is free shipping for 3-5 day.

I just placed an order with them clicking through Mr. Rebates to get 2% back and $20 off. The email acknowledgement shows -$20 for a total of $729.99.
I'll check my CC to see if they did only charge $729.99 or added to that.

Anything sold outside its intended country of sale is considered grey market by Samsung and has no warranty. However, during the life of the two-year warranty Expansys-USA will send the phone to their UK affiliate for service on behalf of their customers. Anyone buying from Negri, Amazon, or eBay has no warranty. No one in the U.S. is authorized to sell the phone by Samsung and it's not a U.S. product. Should the phone need service, Samsung UK will ask for a receipt and/or credit card statement. The purchase had to be made in the UK in GBP and from an authorized reseller for the warranty to be valid. They also keep a database of which phone serial numbers were sent to specific dealers/distributors. Many i9100 repairs were rejected because they didn't meet the requirements I described. All us i9100 owners went through this when the phone first came out so what I'm sharing is fact.
I got the same email. My total was 729.99 and I was more comfortable buying from a company with a US presence.
$750 + $29 for 1 day shipping. = $777.94
is it worth it?

Thank you for the clarification. Any idea as to how is their customer service in case something goes wrong with the phone?
Buying from EXPANSYS USA does not void a warranty by any means. I sent my GS2 back for a repair with no problem at all. In fact, I called EXPANSYS and spoke with a rep there that offered to take care of everything for me. I shipped it back to EXPANSYS and they forwarded it on to France for me, got it repaired, and shipped my phone back to me when it was finished. They also gave me all the information I would have needed if I wanted to do it myself. I just went through them to alleviate any huge shipping fees and any unforeseen obstacles. It looks like they do have the Galaxy Nexus in stock now.... It's hard not to buy one!!!

Although I haven't bought from them personally, I know that Negri is a reputable seller that has been around for some time.
Isn't it cheaper to get the phone form T-Mo directly though?
Yes they are a reputable dealer, and yes direct from T-mobile is cheaper by $20-30.
I bought the original Note from them back in the days when it was first released.

That is actually incorrect. The fee is based on many different variables, all of which are covered in the store policies.
You may be referencing a return of a new release. In that case if you order a product at $800, and return it unused after 7 days, your restock fee is based on the current site price, time out of our possession and condition of exterior packaging and accessories within the box. If the price of the device happens to be $600, your restock fee would be close to 25%.
Restocking Fees are not used to generate profit for our business. We use restocking fees to recover costs incurred during shipping and receiving of returned items, as well as price changes that may have occured while the device was out of our possession and unable to be sold.
We are very transparent in everything we do. If there is an issue please contact us so that we can explain in greater detail. Please do not mislead XDA readers. When posting your issue, please provide further detail so that others may make a educated decision as to where to purchase their next device.
We apologize that you are upset, but we do have the store policies posted and do not assess fees as a form of punishment, or to generate profit. We can only hope that you read the policies and ask questions if you have them.
Fair and Balanced - Always.

I got a Verizon HTC One by auction from ebay and the seller claimed it is brand new.Everything looks like it is new but there is a defect on the screen.Looks like a purple blemish and it doesn't seem like a dead pixel or something since I can see the defect even when the phone is powered off.The seller said he got it from craigslist and I contact Verizon and HTC and looks like they only take care of the phones sold by them.Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

You aren't stuck with this. eBay has a money-back program that you reach thru their Resolution Center.
Quote from eBay:
What is the eBay Money Back Guarantee?
We guarantee that you will get the item you ordered or get your money back. We have a simple three-step eBay Buyer Protection process to assist you in case something goes wrong with a transaction. You can go to the Resolution Center and contact the seller. Most sellers will quickly help you, but if you are not happy after a few days you can easily refer the case to eBay. If you haven't received your item, or the item is not as described, we'll refund your purchase price plus original shipping on virtually all items. If return shipping is not payable by seller in accordance with the seller’s return policy, return shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility.

Yeah I'm aware of this. However it looks like it is a manufacturing defect. The seller just claims it is brand new and I guess new device could have defects so it's not the seller to blame I guess. The seller should be an individual though, not a company or something like that.
yes, but
He sold it to you and is obligated to send exactly what was described, not a reject.
And he's likely in a better position to get it replaced than you.
No shame to say you didn't get what you expected and would like a refund.

+1 I buy and sell on eBay daily and I can assure you will get your money back. I also recommend paying with PayPal to add an "extra layer of protection".
next
My cynical take: he bought it from a shady Craigslist seller, discovered the flaw, then turned around and sold it on eBay with no returns.
Even though he specified No Returns, eBay will still open a case if the item is not As Described.
You can explain to eBay that you did not get a New item as was posted by the Seller because there is a flaw.
Clearly describe flaw. Document it well with multiple pictures from several angles.
No fight or argument here; just you saying you'd like to return it because of the undisclosed flaw. Then let eBay decide it.
This happened to me and after a week or so, I was refunded thru Paypal and returned it to Seller's address.

Thanks for the reply. He always emphasizes that it is factory sealed phone and there is no way for him to check if there's defect but actually if you own a One you know the box is not sealed and anyone can open the box and take the phone out.The plastic wrap can also stick multiple times. He just put brand new on his listing and he said he sold me exactly what the listing said.He even said my request is "ridiculous"now I'm done arguing with him.Just wait until Friday to ask ebay step in.

Make sure that you're sending him message through the e-bay page and not personal e-mail. This way you'll have a "paper" trail showing paypal/ebay all of the sellers BS and how rude he is to you. If all else fails you can contact your bank and they will forcefully reverse the transaction and get you back the money. I would use that as a last resort after trying paypal/ebay.

Amazon is issuing refunds for some Galaxy Note 7 accessories
http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/12/13262538/samsung-galaxy-note-7-amazon-accessory-refunds
So I just got of the phone with amazon and although you are outside the return period they will give refunds once they have received the products back. So when you contact Amazon choose the "phone call" option as the means to communicate with amazon on the returns.
I did this and they were very helpful. The biggest PITA part was having to box everything up individually based on how it was ordered but free ship back and refunds coming.
When I referenced the Note 7 recall they knew immediately what I was talking about so +1 for Amazon customer service
I did have a rather difficult time finding an actual phone number to call as they want to solve the worlds issues via chat or FAQs.
Here is what I used if anyone else wants it
1-888-280-4331
I used the chat feature and they set up individual returns for each item. I asked to be able to put them all together in one box but it had to be separate.
I realized that they were charging shipping. The rep said he would adjust the refund to credit the shipping fee back as well.

I got the $2 credit for a case, but one online chat changed all my returns to refund all the shipping.
The trouble was minimal. Print a label, drop the item in an envelope and drop it off.
They sent me prepaid labels. I was told to put all items (4 separate returns in one box) Put 4 separate labels on the box drop off at a USP location. I am doing that today, I will follow up when I get my credits.
Here's what I did.
1)Ask for the labels, explain that these are N7 items and it was out of your control
2) Ship them
3)You'll see that you're charged $6 for shipping
4)Chat with customer service after and ask them refund the shipping charges.

Wow, this is great to know. Thank you guys. I purchased a glass screen protector that broke trying to get off the phone and I threw it away, I'll probably be out of luck with that one, but maybe I'll ask them about it.
Samsung is going to let me keep the accessories and refund my money. I bought the led case and the clear case from the Samsung website with a coupon I had.
I will most likely sell both cases as a bundle on ebay or craiglist for cheap.
