I'm pretty sure I've read this on somewhere here, but I cannot for the life of me find it. I've looked for it since morning, and yet, nothing. Anyone know how to prevent the Android 4.2 update notification from showing up? I was on 4.2.1, flashed back to 4.1.2, and plan on sticking to it.
you didnt look hard enough, i typed this into the search bar "4.2 update" and it lead me straight to the answer i posted it another post...
download fotakill.. push it to system/app. install it, then reboot
oh yeah i just tried a different set of search terms. found it, thanks.
mods, please delete the thread if you're reading this.
I just flashed my phone to the newest AOKP Task & Ktoonez (1/8) ROM and I always follow the OPs instructions by fully wiping, but for some reason this time my Titanium Backup app has NONE of my backups anymore and I'm not really sure how to fix it or who to go to. I did a quick search but I haven't found anything and I didn't see anything in Task's thread mentioning it. I don't want to mention it in his thread because he is very particular on what questions are allowed in his thread and anytime someone mentions an app he responds by saying that is a third party app and he does not support it. Thanks in advance for the help!
Well I don't know how to close my own thread but I fixed my problem. All I did was went preferences>backup folder location>detect and chose that folder it detected and I was good to go.

Did you try the "whole device" search in TB to see if it locates your backups??
Hi, quick question for somebody that knows their way around this phone better than me... I am on the stock Jelly Bean ROM that came with it when I got the phone in early December... All I've done is root and add some tweaks myself so I can use things like Titanium, MyBackup Root, etc... in any case, I was trying to delete an app earlier this morning in Titanium, and accidentally hit the app above it on the list, and deleted before I uninstalled... the app was com.samsung.sdm... can't figure out via google search exactly what this does... I do know that some have frozen or deleted this file with no ill effect to performance... my question is whether this app has anything to do with OTA updates? Part of the reason I'm temporarily on stock (as opposed to custom ROMs I've used on every other Android phone) is to get OTA updates, and I don't want to have them blocked after accidentally deleting this app...
I found a copy of the sdm file in an older Titanium backup folder on my hard drive, so I know I can restore it, but before I bother, was just curious if any of you gurus could enlighten me on exactly what this file is and does?
Thanks in advance,
-A

Hi, don't see the thread appearing the SGSIII Q&A forum... can you point me to the new link? Thx
Guys, I think this is a bug related to the latest update of Google Now. Previously it worked perfectly, but now the Menu option is totally broken at least with the Note II.
Everytime I open Google Now and I try to show the menu to access to the Settings option, the menu pops out, just goes away the screen, it happens every time I press the menu key on the phone, and it's impossible to press any option inside the menu. I tested with other apps and so far, Google Now is the only one with this issue.
Anybody has experienced this with the latest version of Google Now?
Same here... Sure there will be a fast update
The menu is not in the correct position for me but it works fine. I saw someone with an S3 having the same bug as the OP though.
I had these on earlier roms, IIRC just clear google search data, uninstall the update then update again. You can try to clear 1st see if it works. Think I have also tried removing the system app and install from playstore...
Corrections, above was an old issue.
For the current temp fix, just touch the cursor area, 'Search, or say Google'. Then you are able to access the menu...
