Currently, Phone is stuck on HBOOT whenever the phone is turned on. I've tried removing the battery for long periods of time, removing the SD Card and so forth with no success.
With the SD Card inserted, it does the SD Checking! Sequence where it looks for images I'm guessing, being unable to connect the SD Card directly with an adapter I was hoping if anyone could tell me whether if theres anyway to transfer files via HBOOT mode or any advice on how to recover phone (Perhaps if theres a method to force it into the CWR mode.)
Thank you for any help.

Are u able to navigate to recovery just through hboot with the volume buttons?
If not, if you've used adb before use the command
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Then from there, since you're S-OFF you can do a full wipe and restore a backup or flash a ROM, if you have those things on your sd
Let me know if there are any other problems

Select bootloader option in hboot and then you will see recovery and just hit the power button when you want to enter recovery.

Thanks for the replies, and No, I'm unable to navigate the HBOOT with the volume controls at this point.
Would the ADB allow me to reset and set it into recovery mode whilst its in HBOOT mode? This might be something I'll look into once I get home.

Yes it would
The easiest way to use adb that I've found is to look for leith51's guide to flashing a radio, they have an easy flash guide that includes a zip with adb and all drivers included, and a .bat file for an easy start.
Click start here.bat, then type "adb devices" to see if the phone is recognised (it will print your phone's serial number) then go ahead with "adb reboot recovery"
If you can't find it I'll send it to you when i'm home from work

Format your whole phone and try again

here you go, i had it bookmarked on my laptop
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896597
download the Radio flash.zip
double click the Start Here.bat
away you go

New user needs help - nand backup

Hi all, I just rooted my phone using Amon-ra and unrevoked -- latest one. I am trying to do a nand backup so I can flash a kernel onto my phone, but I cant find the option.
When I power into the bootloader, and navigate to recovery. It gives me a red yield sign with an exclamation point. When I press volume up and power, it takes me to the Android system recovery <3e>. I see options to reboot system now (reboots back to main screen), apply sdcard:update.zip (which gives me some error), wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition.
I downloaded Rom manager but thats only for clockwork recovery.
What am I doing wrong? What do i need to do?
Thanks for the guidance.
Android with the yellow exclamation is the stock recovery. What happens when you hold vol down & press power?
BTW, this is also Q&A material, not development.
If I push volume down and power, it takes me to the Hboot/Bootloader, whatever that screen is called, where you have option to fastboot, recovery, etc.
Sorry I didnt realize this was development. I have been reading a lot of threads on this so I assumed incorrectly. Please feel free to move it, or I can do it manually.
Thanks again

What do you see at the top of the HBoot screen? S-ON or S-OFF?
Also, what H-Boot version?
Sounds like your Unrevoked didn't take. reboot your phone and try again.

Try using ROM Manager to flash Clockwork.

I was told Amon-RA recovery was the best. I followed the instructions step by step. Even saw the $ change to #. What went wrong? Is there no way for me to create a backup with flashing other things? I mean do I even have a rooted phone? I know the superuser app doesnt have anything in it. Its blank! But I have a superuser app.

I think you can do one of 2 things:
1. Redo Unrevoked. If you scroll down to Recovery in the Fastboot/Bootloader screen and it takes you to the stock recovery then it didn't flash recovery.
2. Boot into your phone and, making sure USB is turned on in Settings > Applications > Development, use this from Amon-Ra's post
via fastboot
Code:
Copy recovery-RA-evo-v1.8.0.img to a location where fastboot can find it.
Boot your phone into fastboot mode
fastboot devices(press enter) (to make sure that fastboot "sees" your phone)
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-evo-v1.8.0.img(press enter)
Ok just tried doing the above:
Copied that recovery.img file to my sdcard.
Restarted phone into Hboot
Phone checked for PCIMG -> wasnt there
Then went into Fastboot
the following are the options that i have: Bootloader, Reboot, Reboot Bootloader, and power down.
not sure what to do?
Bumping it like im sooo fine.

[Q] stuck in hboot

i tried doing a factory reset then I was reading a guide on a similar site about unrooting my phone and downloaded a file called pg32img.zip and put it on my sd card. I booted into hboot on my phone and the only things i can do are reboot/power off and use bootloader which automatically goes to trying to flash the file i put on there but it gives me the error "main version is older" everytime, and kicks me out to the main menu giving me the same options. I cant do anything besides try to reflash the thing or reboot my phone. At the top of the hboot it says "security warning" if thats any help.
tried doing adb devices while my phone was plugged in and it said no devices found.

First step is to delete the PG32IMG.zip file off of the SD card. If you leave it on, HBOOT will try to install it every time you boot into HBOOT.
The security warning that is now showing indicates that the PG32IMG.zip you tried to flash was an older version that you currently have on your DInc2.
The adb.exe command will only work when the phone is booted normally or booted into recovery mode. It is expected behavior for adb not to work when you are booted into HBOOT mode.

what can I do???:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Relax you're not stuck. You got s-off which is the most important thing when rooting for the first time.
you can now flash a custom.
I recommend 4ext recovery
recovery trough adb/adb.
Superwipe and install a custom rom.
Will provide some links and such when I get to a computer

I cannot do anything! volume down and power doesn't work either!
when I plug in to pc and type adb reboot bootloader
it says: device not found!
how can I flash recovery?
Boot into bootloader and try to select RUU and se what happens. You could try to flash a ruu using the bootloader method. I'm still not home so try to read and see what you can get from this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396229 there is says how you can install recovery and rom through bootloader. Ask if you have any questions or if anything is unclear.

can I download another recovery? because I cannot download the one that they linked in the guide.
where can I find & download a custom recovery?
Download recovery here:
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/xvpefd1yccx81lu/4EXT_Recovery_Touch_v1.0.0.5_RC8.zip?dl=1
It's the latest 4ext recovery.
Rename the zip to PD98IMG and put into the root of the sdcard (not any folder ) and boot into bootloader. This is also covered in the guide i think.
I formated the sd card and put the recovery file in it but it didn't work!!
I still have the same screen
nothing works please help!!!

- First you need the RUU.exe that you intend to install.
- Run the RUU as Administrator.
- Tick the 'I understand the caution indicated above...' box, and click next.
- At this point do not go any further!
- Navigate to C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Temp (xxxxx is your user name , and ... AppData is a hidden folder)
- You should see one or two folders like this example: {E328FA5C-81C2-4B70-96AE-D5418A9A5B75}
- Go into the folder with "dotnetinstaller.exe".
- Open the next folder. (like this example: {50F2F878-636A-496F-A7CB-544C067E0C4B}
- Copy "rom.zip" into another folder (outside of temp).
- At this point just Cancel and quit the ROM Update Utility.
- Rename the "rom.zip" to "PD98IMG.zip" and put it on to the root directory of your MicroSD card in your phone.
- Shut down the phone.
- Press the Power button + Volume down button at the same time and hold them untill you get to HBOOT (white screen with skateboarding android).
- Wait for the HBOOT to parse the zip file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and boot into newly flashed device.

Did you try the tutorial i posted?
Try what muikkuman said.
When you tried to flash the recovery, did you place the pd98img.zip and then tried to get into hboot? Were you able to get into hboot?
If not you can use the hack kit to flash a ruu/return to stock.

I am not able to get into hboot! and the hack kit says:
Phone not plugged in
OR
Driver not installed
OR
USB Debugging not enabled.
but my drivers are installed
Hmm...
Uninstall the antivirus program, uninstall the drivers and then reinstall the drivers...some people have had this issue and its something i advise a good bit of the time and it resolves the issue.....

Or you could simply disable your anti virus program before unzipping ace hack kit and use the htc drivers contained in the hack kit.

[Q] Droid Incredible Boot Loop Help

Hey Everyone,
I want to start out by saying that I followed the instructions on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1628585, but I'm still not able to get my Droid Incredible (First Gen.) to function.
Here's the problem: When turned on normally the white screen that says HTC Incredible pops up and, then, the screen goes black and the phone reboots.
I can boot into the recovery screen by holding the power button + volume down, but I cannot do anything from that point. The information on my screen is as follows:
***LOCKED***
INCREDIBLE XC SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.07.0000
MICROP-0417
TOUCH PANEL-ATMEL224_16ab
RADIO-2.15.10.12.20
Apr 24 2012, 22:58:40
Then, it gives me the standard options:
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
FACTORY RESET
None of them work.
I placed the two different PB31IMG.zip available on that thread on the SD card (one at a time), and could not get either to install. Instead, I see the SD card recognized for a brief moment, but, it tells me that there is "no image." Everything else flashes by quickly, but, I'm fairly certain it just keeps saying "no image" for everything.
Anyone have any suggestions? Or, alternatively, anyone have any suggestions about how to retrieve data from the phone's internal storage? I'm trying to recover some information from the internal storage and I can't seem to figure it out.
Thanks!

Try backing up, and then reformating your sdcard fat32 with a pc. Then put only this file http://dinc.does-it.net/Stock_Images/4.08.605.15/PB31IMG.zip back on the sd and boot to hboot (vol down +power). Hboot should find the file now and prompt you to press vol up to install, and when done vol up to reboot.

It's still giving me the "No Image" error.
I've quick formatted the SD card to FAT32 w/my (Windows 7) PC.
Put just the file you provided on the SD.
Safely ejected.
Booted to HBOOT
HBOOT scans and says, "No Image."
I've tried this multiple times.
Did I miss a step?

No it sounds like you did it right. Do you have another sdcard you could try. Also make sure the file is in no folders and named exactly PB31IMG.zip, which is what it should already be named when you download it.

Wait i think i am beginning to get you. Pls answer these questions
1. When you boot into bootloader and then select recovery, does it vibrate and gives you a black screen?
2. When you turn it off and connect it to a computer via usb, does the charging light come on and shows up as QHSUSB_DLOAD on your computer?
3. When you try flashing ruu, via placing the ***IMG.zip on your sdcard and boot to bootloader, does it detect the ruu, asks you weather you want to flash. And after pressing volume up for yes, its looks as if its flashing but after rebooting stays the same?
4. Or when you try to flash the system.img via fastboot, does it gets stuck flashing?
1) yes, it vibrates and then 7 vibrations (after 2~3 secs) and then a black screen, and hitting the power button wont reboot the phone
2) yes, and even when it is on and on black screen it gives it to me
3) yes
3) no, never tried it

Lol..you are in serious trouble.
You might be wondering how i knew all that.
Cause it happened to my old Desire HD(Still didnt know weather it was a DHD or Inspire 4G.
It turned out it was emmc problem.
You should think of getting a new device or getting a new motherboard as that was what i did.
I followed an unbrick thread here.
It never worked for me. But you could try.
I remember i installed a wrong QHSUSB_DLOAD drivers which kind of corrupted the bootloader.
So watch out what drivers you use. There might be a possiblity, your might work.
