[Q] stuck in hboot - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

i tried doing a factory reset then I was reading a guide on a similar site about unrooting my phone and downloaded a file called pg32img.zip and put it on my sd card. I booted into hboot on my phone and the only things i can do are reboot/power off and use bootloader which automatically goes to trying to flash the file i put on there but it gives me the error "main version is older" everytime, and kicks me out to the main menu giving me the same options. I cant do anything besides try to reflash the thing or reboot my phone. At the top of the hboot it says "security warning" if thats any help.
tried doing adb devices while my phone was plugged in and it said no devices found.
screen looks like this

First step is to delete the PG32IMG.zip file off of the SD card. If you leave it on, HBOOT will try to install it every time you boot into HBOOT.
The security warning that is now showing indicates that the PG32IMG.zip you tried to flash was an older version that you currently have on your DInc2.
The adb.exe command will only work when the phone is booted normally or booted into recovery mode. It is expected behavior for adb not to work when you are booted into HBOOT mode.

[Q] Stuck in Bootloop, cannot get into recovery either.

I have searched all over and am still coming up empty on this one. Phone was working with Cyanogen earlier today, then rebooted itself and never stopped. When I try to boot into recovery it simply goes to the white evo splash screen and reboots again.
The only thing I can do is hboot/flashboot. I could not get adb shell to load at all connected to my mac. Under windows when I select flashboot it does appear on device manager under Android USB Devices->HTC Bootloader.
I have tried RUU, connection error.
I have access to both a PC and a Mac and am open to any suggestions.

Sounds like you wish to unroot to solve your problems? If that is the case I can promise you that with patience you can get the RUU to work. If your computer is seeing your phone then you probably have all the drivers. Try to reboot your computer and then plug your phone in, go into bootloader and select the fastboot option I believe it is, whichever one lets you make connection to your computer. I would say to use the reboot bootloader option a few times to refresh then connection then trying to run the RUU.
I've tried doing hboot usb (it changes to hboot usb plug, shows in device manager) and fastboot (it shows fastboot usb and also recognizes in device manager). Cannot get RUU to work at all, period.
Do I want to RUU? No, not really. Just trying to find any way I can get the phone back up and working.
I've never done anything in hboot except by following the recovery instructions, so I am not expert.
If I was stuck in your situation I would follow the root instructions HERE. You will have copy the files to the SD card with your windows computer if that is working. If not find one of the micro SD card adapters and use a computer to put the files on the card and use hboot to flash the new recovery.
Actually go to THIS thread and follow the instruction for via bootloader. Again, if you can't connect to the SD card through usb, take it out and put it in a computer.
Flashed that new Recovery you linked via the bootloader using the PC36IMG method, still bootloops over and over again. Can't get into recovery nor anything other than the boot loader.
Seems like it is something more serious? Bad hardware perhaps? Anything I can do from here to make it seem like the device was not rooted and swap it out at a sprint store?
Is it boot looping at the Cyanogen boot screen or at the white screen that says HTC EVO 4g? Does the hboot screen still say s-off?
If the new recovery flashed successfully it should work.
If you are highlighting recovery and then hitting power and it is bootlooping you have a problem that is over my head.
White EVO screen. Still showing S-OFF, yes. If I highlight recovery and hit power, yes.. still bootloops.
Do what fazulka reccomends and put your sd card in an adapter . Sounds like your recovery got borked,
Search for your recovery of choice
Put on root of sd card and try again
You can find a .img recovery to load up and update/flash a new one thru hboot
Swyped from a galaxy far far away......
Got the RUU to recognize the phone now. When updating it starts by rebooting to bootloader, where I get a darker screen with HTC in the middle. Then not so long after it gives me another connection error 170 and quits.
Edit: Jimdog, I have flashed a new recovery using hboot. Still gives me a bootloop.
Ran the RUU, it finally finished updating this time. Guess what? Still bootloops. Gets to the white evo screen when booting regular or to the recovery, then reboots. Every time.
Still showing S-OFF, is there any way to get this to S-ON so I can take this into a Sprint store for a swap out?
Try sprintlovers.
This may fix it.
go HERE.
The first link that says download it the one you want. When you download it it will be named PC36IMG.zip put that on the root of your sd card. Boot into recovery. Recovery will find the file and ask if you want to use it. I believe volume up is yes. There is long waits then it will ask you if you want to reboot, press up for yes
Should boot (note, first boot is LONG)
Also, it may seem like it is freezing in recovery a few time, look to the top righ and there will be a small loading bar. Some of the actions are pretty slow.
I cannot boot into recovery. It reboots over and over no matter if I try to boot normally or boot into recovery. The ONLY thing I can do is anything in hboot, i.e. flash things using a PC36IMG.
I tried flashing a new recovery, I tried flashing sprintlovers. I successfully ran a RUU even. It still bootloops during the white evo screen.
I think something is physically wrong with the phone at this point, but I am affraid since I cannot get S-ON back without flashing unrevoked in recovery that I will not be able to swap out the phone at sprint under warranty.

Flash Clockworkmod recovery failed.... [Solved]

I am trying to flash rom following thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11557769.
However I met problem during flash clockworkmod recovery. The Error message looks like
"Error while downloading from server. Please make sure that you have a stable internet connection, and that your SD card is inserted and has free space!"
I am pretty sure the above things are right.
Then, If i click reboot into recovery, the device will stop with with an icon with a phone and an exclamation mark in a triangle. Press volume up and power key, screen shows that
"Android System Recovery (3e). xxxx.....
with a error message E:/ can't open /cache/recovery/command"
I downloaded the update.zip, try to manually flash the recovery, unfortunately, signature verification error.
I have no idea what to do next?
Hi,
Can you confirm if your DHD has SHIP S-ON, SHIP S-OFF or ENG S-OFF?

yes, I checked with
1. Power Down Your Device
2. Go to Bootloader
3. If it says Ace PVT ENG S-OFF your phone is ENG S-OFF.
4. use Volume down to get to system info and tap power button to select
5. check CID for CID-11111111 (if you have this all is done 100%)
6. Reboot
Everything looks fine.
Problem solved with manual recovery flash.

Currently, Phone is stuck on HBOOT whenever the phone is turned on. I've tried removing the battery for long periods of time, removing the SD Card and so forth with no success.
With the SD Card inserted, it does the SD Checking! Sequence where it looks for images I'm guessing, being unable to connect the SD Card directly with an adapter I was hoping if anyone could tell me whether if theres anyway to transfer files via HBOOT mode or any advice on how to recover phone (Perhaps if theres a method to force it into the CWR mode.)
Thank you for any help.

Are u able to navigate to recovery just through hboot with the volume buttons?
If not, if you've used adb before use the command
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Then from there, since you're S-OFF you can do a full wipe and restore a backup or flash a ROM, if you have those things on your sd
Let me know if there are any other problems
Select bootloader option in hboot and then you will see recovery and just hit the power button when you want to enter recovery.

Thanks for the replies, and No, I'm unable to navigate the HBOOT with the volume controls at this point.
Would the ADB allow me to reset and set it into recovery mode whilst its in HBOOT mode? This might be something I'll look into once I get home.

Yes it would
The easiest way to use adb that I've found is to look for leith51's guide to flashing a radio, they have an easy flash guide that includes a zip with adb and all drivers included, and a .bat file for an easy start.
Click start here.bat, then type "adb devices" to see if the phone is recognised (it will print your phone's serial number) then go ahead with "adb reboot recovery"
If you can't find it I'll send it to you when i'm home from work
Format your whole phone and try again
here you go, i had it bookmarked on my laptop

download the Radio flash.zip
double click the Start Here.bat

Can't Flash Radio in HBOOT - Please Help

I recently got a Droid Incredible 2. I just went through the process of rooting it using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751796
I have successfully achieved S OFF. At the end of the Revolutionary process, it asked if I'd like to install CWM recovery. I said no since I'd prefer to install 4EXT. The rooting finishing, but when I try to boot my phone, it loads up to the lockscreen but then reboots and continues to do so.
I went into HBOOT and here's my info:

I read that the bootloops could possibly be caused by the outdated radio so I tried putting the newer 0312 radio onto my phone. I added the file to the SD card, renamed it PG32IMG.zip, and went back to the HBOOT. When it searches for the file, it finds nothing.
Please help
I fixed it! For anyone who has the same problem, I was able to flash the new radio via fastboot using a command prompt.

Congratulations! I, too, had a similar problem last night and used HBOOT to flash to a previous radio. Took me a while, but renaming the zip file to PG32IMG.zip on the sd card enabled HBOOT to find it.

[Q] Restoring Android OS

Hi I just found my old phone and wanted to restore it. I honestly have no clue about this kind of procedures so I'll ask you to please be patient. I've been doing some research but wasn't really successful.
When I turn on the phone I get

No signs of the operating system is shown whatsoever. There is a list of options:
BOOTLOADER
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN
I tried all of them but didn't get anything exiting. When I get to BOOTLOADER some screens are shown and then it says
Loading image [PG76IMG]
or something like that and asks "Do you want to start update". Just for the heck of it I pushed no and then it asked me to reboot. Then when I went to Bootloader again it showed the same thing but this time I pushed yes. It did some updating and then it asked me to reboot again but then the same thing happened.
How can I get past this screen? Does it even matter that I do? How can I install Android on the phone?
Thank you.
I think you don't have a recovery installed. Search for a recovery like CWM or TWRP in the forums and follow the instructons. By the way what did you do with the phone last time???

Hi thank you for your answer. I actually was looking for recoveries as suggested in another post but I'm unable to mount the phone on LInux or Windows when it is on fastboot. I have seen that many people can do this when they get into Recovery but I can't. Any hints on that?

I got this phone like a year ago and it wasn't working. Basically it was showing me the screen with the three Android logos and wouldn't start. I remember I tried some stuff I found on this blog to get a new OS on it but I didn't have much time back then as I was having finals. I remember I got the phone blocked and it said S-ON and was told how I needed to unlock it and turn it to S-OFF.
You don't have to mount it in fastboot you just have to take it to fastboot mode and connect to your PC and use the fastboot utility that comes with adb. However if fastboot does not work try to flash the recovery through SD card.....take your sd card connect to PC and delete the PG76IMG.zip that's there.....then download the flashable recovery zip and rename to PG76IMG.zip place it on SD and connect in your phone and again go to bootloader where it asks to apply update. Update it, turn off, delete or rename the PG76IMG.zip from SD and boot.......see if it can boot into recovery....or go to bootloader and select recovery.......for the recovery I will suggest TWRP (google for TWRP wildfire s) and download zip from there.
