No Need, I use my stock 16GB and write at 7MB's and read at 22MB's Just use Sd Booster and set cache from 128kb to 1024,2048,3072,or 4096. So I went from like 2MBs to 7Mbs and went from 12 to 20ish

I would not - sequential read-writes are slower in Lexar and Patriot vs. SanDisk (had first hand experience with all 3 brands). I was using the card to run CM7 on Nook Color from uSD, and the only one that would work was SanDisk.

Can someone post a snapshot of their speed with sd card tester or something along that line? I got the card but the best I can do on the Epic Touch is 5 MBs write. It goes to 10 MBs on my computer and on my Motorola Photon.
I have the same result with my Class 6 micro sd. On my Epic Touch the max it will write at is 5 MBs. The same card goes over 11 MBs on my computer and my Motorola Photon.
Here are my speeds. The lower write speed is on the Epic Touch while the higher one is on the Motorola Photon.
Just got it and ran a couple tests.here's shot of second. Read on first one was 12.87.

I've noticed that for the first 128 mb or so the read write is blazing fast, then it slows down dramatically. Anyone else experience that? We should be testing with more than 300 mb at a time for more accurate results.

I replied to your thread already. it's a hardware problem, it's not something you'll fix with a software. It simply doesn't have the technology to read 64gb SD cards.
When I bought mine they told me the max SD card was 16 GB, that was from someone at rogers that probably doesn't know what they are talking about though
64g NTFS micro sd card for the Captivate.
I have a Sandisk 64g class 10 manually mounted on the Captivate and have never
had any problems so far. The Paragon NTFS app was installed and auto mount
options were disabled. A new folder was created inside the sdcard0 for easy
access. Manually mount the card and go to advanced mode to specify the empty
folder in which to mount the card. I named mine NTFS-64g, once mounted the
card will be readable and writeable as well. Hope it works for you too.

Captivate SGH-i897 External SD Card
Captivate is only allowed to accept 16 GB External MicroSD Card
With Internal and External thats total of 32 GB which the phone will allow
I suggest getting:
Sandisk 16GB Class 10 MicroSD for External Card
Captivate comes with 16GB internal storage, along with a microSD slot which supports up to 32GB

First and for most I am not responsible for anything that might happen to your phone, computer, or sd card. I am simply posting to help anyone ot there who might have an error with there new cards.
So along with alot of others who jumped on the 64gb micro sd sales I purchased from best buy. When I tried to get my phone to register the card which was originally extfat by default it wasnt recognized. So then I tried formating to ntsc to yet again fail. I finally tried to convert to fat32. What follows is a guide to get uou 64gb sd card to fat32.
First make sure you backup any info you might have on you 64gb. Card because formatting will erase EVERYTHING.
Second, connect your micro sd to a computer. I personally used the micro sd to full sd adapter that came with my card.
Third go to the following website
http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?fat32format.htm
And download the gui app by clicking the picture.
Fourth run it. Make sure you select the right location to were your sdcard is.
Fifth click the allocation to your preference (im not sure what this is suppose to do but I set it to max roughly about 64-65) then make sure you select the right destination if not you can format your hdd on the computer. Then press the quick format and start button.
Sixth the script should take less then a min. To be done and have a formatted fat32 64gb microsd card..

How common is this issue? I've got a 64GB Sandisk with exformat in my T889 with no apparent problems (so far).
Im not to sure how common it is but I ran into trouble. I tried the default for the card then ntsc and it wasnt registering with my phone althought I must say I was running perseus kerenel with the memory swap script. Then after I formatted to fat32 it work. Not sure were I read on some other people running in to trouble with the same sandisk card until they formatted.

I just had the same thing happen to me..I downloaded a bunch of albums..they were there..then I rebooted and they were gone...but when uTorrent was downloading it told me I didn't have enough space..I told it to go ahead anyway...they made it but then disappeared..
I have had my 64gb. San disk for about a year and a half without any issues. I formatted the way I outlined in the first post and it has been smooth sailing ever since. I know that the first post could be a bit tedious but it is the RIGHT way. No short cuts. I did have an issue with some kerrnels. For example saber kernel from Jedi Roms says that it can swap your memory partition from external to internal and it does for about a week and then for some odd reason it just locks your SD so you can't download or delete any thing. The combination I have been using is an old school pegasus kernel with a memory swap script. I have been using that for a long time and not only is it the most stable memory swap, but the kernel has never messed up my SD either. P.S. just my 2 cents
