If you've used RebBox in store you can do it. - http://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/contact-us/find-a-store/red-box/index.htm

How can you transfer contacts into WP via usb (redbox) and not via the cloud?
Even the wesite says WM is supported and doesn't mention WP

Here is the reply from Vodafone!
Apparently they have got a bluetooth app for that! I have no idea how well it works, but the built in bluetooth app for contact transfer is sweet.

Ahh... it works for nokias only then.
Mind you it means that if you have a non nokia wp7 that you want to use as the donor phone you are stuffed

I'm visiting the nearest Vodafone shop tomorrow and will update. From another tweet that Vodafone sent me, it looks like other phones 'might' be able to do something similar. However it is only confirmable in-store.

Yes, but the REDBOX advert doesn't show windows to windows.
It's an advert aimed at not only showing off their REDBOX but also shows quite a lot of Windows Phone. It is a good incentive to get others from other OSes to WP - they tranfer stuff for free from old phone to new WP.

thanks, would love to know

Ok confirmed 100% - they have their own app that will transfer stuff via Bluetooth. I can see what pain it might be if you have plenty to transfer. But yes they are definitely providing REDBOX with all their windows phone. Not just Lumia.
Sent from my TITAN X310e using Board Express

So all WPs now have the contact transfer app?

Bluetooth functionality, cool !
Ask them about using it on other phones and how it works, you know- all the juicy stuff.
What is REDBOX over there ? Here its just a movie rental thing.

The way we are blessed on our HTC phones with connection set up and HTC Hub, I think Vodafone has taken it even a step further. So they don't only get those OEM loaded phones, but then add more tweaks to the OS and add their own apps. One that appeals is REDBOX as shown in recent adverts (of Yoda?)
I went to the store here in London and asked following the tweet I showed in earlier post. The redbox is nothing but an app like that of Orange's app on certain android phones. It lets the user bring in any old Bluetooth supported phone and then transfer pics, contacts, music, videos and docs.
The old WP that supported SD cards, can get everything via Bluetooth and then save on SD card. The Gen2s without SD cards, get it all saved mysteriously in the correct 'sand boxes'. Now that to me was impressive! Their REDBOX is just one app that comes pre-installed on all phones, but depending on their OS, version and hardware capabilities it works differently. What I'm sceptical about like any other Bluetooth question is - who on earth will want to transfer 5GB of songs, 2 GB of pics and about 1300 contacts from old phone to new via bluetooth? However, you don't have to wait and watch while they transfer, but if you want you could. Else they 'securely' transfer your stuff for you while you go shopping around in the market.
So that's the summary of my Sunday morning walk to Vodafone store and talk with the reps. All in the benefit of our little community!
BTW, they are waay more supportive to WP than Carphone warehouse or O2 people. They loved showing off their new Lumia and the staff seemed to know what they were talking about. More positively, they knew a lot more of what OS can do rather than what it can't do. They seemed very unaware of few limitations on certain features i.e. bluetooth file sharing (obviously!), using phone as USB, video sharing.

Vodafone also confirmed the same on twitter

RedBox is a tool that Vodafone UK introduced towards the end of last year.
Vodafone users are able to take their old phone and either:
- a new phone they have purchased from Vodafone before, or
- buy a new phone in store
and the Vodafone team in store will use the RedBox tool to transfer all of the data that is on the old phone, to the new one.
The tool is both hardware and software based - for some phones, like WP it uses an app on the phone, for some phones the phone is plugged into a hardware device.
Either way, the tool is able to connect to and transfer from/to 3000 different models of phone, and as far as I am aware is unique.
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/contact-us/find-a-store/red-box/index.htm
One of the main reasons I am with Vodafone UK is that they are the only network in the country where the staff genuinely seem to care about providing a good service - I have spent 45 minutes on the phone to customer services with an account manager and their manager trying to work out how to sort something out where other networks would just fob me off before.
Similarly, the store staff are always more than happy to help or just have a chat - they even let me have a go with a Lumia before it was released, and apart from showing me a few tricks from Mango they were happy to learn from me as someone who'd been using WP for months - I still pop in every now and then to show them a new app I've found and they always have the time of day to actually engage with their existing customers...now that's well worth the £5 extra a month compared to the cheaper networks (and even better considering O2 and Orange - whos service is terrible on a biblical scale - are more expensive!)
Sorry, went a bit OT there...

Tezawaly from Nanapho.jp has dug up some UAProfs files from HTC’s website which rather conclusively show that the final names of the HTC Omega will be the HTC Radar, and that of the HTC Eternity would be the HTC Titan.
The UAProfs entries plus leaked codenames from the WP Bench app show the HTC Radar C110e is HTC Omega and HTC TITAN X310e is HTC Eternity. Long time Windows Mobile users will remember the HTC Titan as a small screened slider, but of course the HTC Eternity, which is expected to sport a 4.5 inch screen, is the furthest possible from that design.
With the HTC Radar having a front-facing camera I think we can now safely assume the HTC Titan will come with that feature also, with the leaked specs saying it sported a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

So, basicly they just change the name of it? So that mean, this is the confirmation for Eternity?
Hmmm... I prefer Omega and Eternity over the current names...
I will be buying the Eternity/Titan if no other large screen model comes along... and the name change is one I do welcome.
Omega was cool... but Eternity, yuck !

jaja I agree, people expect their phones to be like portable hard drives or something, we've been given 25GB of storage on SkyDrive for a reason as well as the Zune pass streaming. these phones are very far from useless. I'm also seeing design complaints, these phones aren't meant to be a fashion show if one thinks they can do better they should apply to HTC and do better otherwise stop complaining on forums to people who may be excited about these phones.

Agree, I had a 4GB SD Card in my old TP2 & that was more than enough. Ok, yes 8GB is kind of small for WP7 considering how big some apps are & if you're an app junkie, but it's far from useless. I'll agree to the person you're responding to on 1 aspect. OEM's need to learn to create different versions, 8/16/32 GB to give people the choice of size over price like Dell did. My only complaint in SD Card size is that the desktop Zune client is setup to auto sync music, media, etc. I have 30+ GB of music alone nevermind movies/documents/pictures. I need to pick & choose what I want on the device (16GB). I also hate if you move a music file, the auto sync will remove it from your device. Sure it can be turned off, but you have to know how & go into settings. I made a huge mistake when I first got my WP7. I didn't know exactly how the different sync options works. So, I choose, "Items I choose." I copied all the music I wanted most to the device. Well a couple months later I decided to delete all the music off my PC & re-download it. I had way too many duplicates. Well, everything on my device was deleted too. Yes, user error, I know, but still annoying all the same. Now I have it set to "Manually" but if trying to flash mango & have to uninstall Zune Client to succeed, have to remember to set this setting again.
Count me in for the "16 is enough" crowd. I've got 16, and I still have about 8 free.
However if we could actually watch AVI/XviD's, I might have less room, but still, how many movies would you keep on your phone??

That is what i used to think before Windows Phone 7.
Basicly, i hate the media player on Windows Mobile 6.5 because it is just so laggy, but when i came to WP7, i superised about media power of it and i started to transfer movies and video clips in my Schubert.
Far from now, i have used only 12GB

physical keyboard for the loss.
Too each their own and i guess this could fill a niche....but I hate sliders....i have yet to see one that doesn't compromise the structural integrity and durability of a device (hell some of them even feel loose and wobbly out of the box much less after 6 months to a year of usage). Plus....i feel in landscape mode the onscreen keyboards on the captivate and many of the new larger screen devices are as fast, accurate, and functional as any of the physical keyboards i have tested.
i am waiting the month out to see what develops with the Prime.
If it doesn't come to ATT is will either go with the SGSII or wait out the III which could be 1st quarter 2012.
For me a physical keyboard would make me pass even on a nicely spec'd out device.

The Captivate is the Honda Civic of smart phones. They're probably just capitalizing on its good name. I have to wonder, though, how many people will associate the name with a bad GPS and avoid it.

If I'm paying for a GPS, it should work. PERIOD. The box the phone came in says it has a GPS, so I expect it to work. If the GPS in my $200 phone can't tell me where I am on a sunny day, I have a problem with that.
GPS and Google's turn-by-turn navigation are one of the big reasons I chose Android. I travel all over the place for work, and I'm not about to hit up a travel store on every trip to purchase a local street map for $10 when I can get instant directions to wherever I need to go, complete with traffic info, right on my phone.
After a trip to PA with my boss using his Droid X GPS, I was excited to get an Android phone. Except that I got a Captivate that took 15 minutes to tell me I was in the next town from where I actually was. Sorry if it disturbs your zen-like bliss, but I felt that I had been tricked, and I wasn't happy about it.
I don't use GPS because I'm an idiot. I use GPS because it saves me a lot of time and hassle when I'm someplace unfamiliar. I used to draw maps for a Civil Engineering firm...I can certainly read one.
Maybe you don't get out of your own neighborhood very often and have no real use for a GPS. Maybe you have a photographic memory and have every road in the US etched in your gray matter. Some of us have to fly to Arizona or California, Drive to Pennsylvania or into DC, or travel to some other place we've never been before with little to no notice. Some of us even go on vacation once in a while and don't know where anything is. Why would I spend money on a map when Google Maps and turn-by-turn navigation are available at no extra cost?
Just because something isn't important to you doesn't mean it's not important or useful to others...or that their reasons aren't legitimate. People are stupid because they're stupid. Not because they choose one tool over another.
Cant Wait
Been waiting for this phone for 2 years.... not been a decent QWERTY on android. still sat with my TP2.
a couple of things been causing me to scratch my head.
Why is the Power/USB at the top on these newer devices? makes docking a pain.
Why no TAB button? surely a really useful button to have on a qwerty.
and my last question/food for thought, not related to just this Phone, Why no Biometrics’ for security? surly with some for the intended use of NFC security will need beefing up.
either way as soon as it appears on Clove I’ll be ordering

yes i think he just tore studacris's.
[rant]isn't it somewhat ironic to rant about people utilizing technological advancements/tools in a smartphone forum?
I mean say for example studacris cellphone was plagued with poor reception...would he be just in griping or complaining about the devices deficiency? His rant would be akin to someone responding to that with "what..what you want good reception...haven't you ever heard of a landline?" Or pointing out the fact that cellphones and their contact storage and dial by contact/name have all but caused a large percentage of people to not even have their closest loves ones phone #'s memorized.[rant]
p.s. putting "rant" before and after my rant was tongue in cheek to highlight that apparently in addition to not knowing how to add 2+2 without a calculator people have lost the ability to utilize sarcasm and/or properly rant without specifically telling people that it is in fact a rant. =)~

I'm Watch Android based BT & Wifi watch accessory

The Italian firm Blue Sky are releasing their i'm Watch, which is an Android 1.6 wrist based touch screen accessory. It's like the SonyEricsson LiveView, only keeps time natively, has both BT and Wifi, a microphone, a tiny speaker, a high resolution 220 ppi screen, a motion sensor, according to the stuff I've read about it.
One of the possibilities of this device, for those of us who enjoy Squeezebox based music, is for its ability to run the Squeezecommander app and function as a stand alone touch remote control.
I could also see a lot of cool watch faces being created based on this device.
One disadvantage of this device is the screen lights up only after manual button pushing. According to i'm Watch they'll release a software update to enable always on mode. This will likely drain the battery in a few hours, so what would be needed is a motion sensitive app that lights up the screen say, with a twist of the wrist.
The manufacturer will release an SDK, and will have their own dedicated forum. However, since XDA is the greatest mobile related forum in the world, with so many talented hackers it would be great to give this accessory its own thread over here.
Lots of possibilities!
i'm Watch removed the Wifi capability from the final specification as far as I can tell. Too bad.
I'm really interested in one of these.
But i feel that we need a custom rom to fully utilize the full potential of this device. Hopefully they will release the full kernel sources.
Would froyo be possible? Speed/battery improvements would be welcome!
Would this be an Accessory or it's own standalone device? I thought it was a device on it's own, as in doens't connect to another phone like liveview
It's expensive as hell though. At 299 euros, that's about $412 USD. I just bought this last night. $60: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VXLW4E
And if you want the SE LiveView, it's only like $70 on Amazon.
As far as i know the i'm watch connects to your phone. And works as some kind of handsfree or remote.
Something similar to sony ericssons liveview.
But the i'm watch is a watch that works "on its own". The liveview even requires to be connected to a phone to show the time. And it doesn't display either the content of mail or messages. Besides that there are some serious connection problems with liveview and phones from other manufacturers than sony.
I happen to own a liveview which works about 50% of the time you try to use it. Lets hope the i'm watch does a better job!

I've have a liveview and disappointed by it's functionality based on past products from SE. I loved the concept but like others, the LV only connects like 70% for me and the customization is really not there.
And as for the I'm Watch. I have been following this for about a year. I have been on and off their pre-order list because I cannot see myself be an early adapter of this watch because of my experience with the Liveview lol. Well the price didn't help either.
I've seen the demo on their site and it does look promising. I just got an email today that they are going to launch the watch at CES this year so that should create some media buzz. For the price, I decided to put my funds to a bit better use and back a kickstarter project that will launch a clear/glass touch keyboard and mouse that I hope will be pretty user friendly lol...The kickstarter guy is going to be at CES as well.
Mine arrived 2 hours ago. It's on my skinny (16cm) wrist and just fits without looking too stupid, although none of my mates have seen it yet and I can guarantee they'll tell me....
The price, well, my Rolex cost a bit more and it doesn't tell me the date or light up at night. It only tells me the time when there's enough light to see by. It certainly doesn't tell me when I have a new email.
First impressions.... hmmm, so-so.
It is quite fast to flick through apps. Not greased lightning, not even lightening... just adequately fast. Not frustratingly slow.
Getting it tethered to my Samsung Galaxy Note took a bit of fiddling and I ended up rebooting both devices to accomplish this.
The only way to configure the apps is on their i'm cloud webpage.
This only has the basic apps.
Weather
Twitter (I don't have this)
Facebook (which I f'ing hate, so don't have)
Appointments
Images (Picassa, which I don't have)
Stocks (not interested)
News (not interested)
Email (gmail only)
i'music (10 songs that I either have or am not interested in)
You import your addressbook (no editing available, no pictures) via bluetooth.
You plug the cable in to transfer music and pictures.
You will burst in to tears as you watch your 3Gb (they advertised it as 4Gb) get's eaten up at 1Mb per second.
You'll then start tearing your hair out as you uploaded some songs you didn't want and can't delete them on the device - you have to plug it back in.
There's a few ringtones and notifications to choose from but no custom option.
No custom wallpaper or clock faces.
I've emailed them to see where the Calculator app is, where the games are etc but that was an hour ago so I'll give them a while to respond.
***EDIT***
They have replied very quickly to tell me that I'm stuck with the default apps (grrrr) and that the i'market isn't up yet.
Questions?
Could you snap a few pictures of it? I would love to see how it looks. Maybe a video in the real world..
I've got a 16cm (skinny) wrist, I'll put up a few more for comparison

I'm looking forward to seeing if it supports SMS notifications once iOS6 gets released (has Bluetooth MAP at last)
is it true that wifi capability has been removed? or can the watch connect to a wifi network without the use of another smartphone?

First real review I've ever read of the I'm Watch anywhere. Thank you! Let us know if there are improvements in the software. It does sound underpowered in terms of memory, and weird that it doesn't show pictures with the address/contacts. What's the point of that pixeldense screen, then. What about finish? Look classy, would you say. How are people reacting to it?
PS. My interest went away with the Wifi, although at least it does have vibration alerts, which the Motoactv doesn't DS.

There have been a couple of firmware updates but no noticeable changes.
The watch itself performs fine, not slow really - just not zippy.
The screen looks good, I uploaded a couple of pictures and it zooms in and out without lagging.
A photo of the contact popping up when the phone rings should be a compulsory addition to the firmware :-/
I bought the basic black/silver plastic version, it doesn't draw any attention and feels OK.
Vibration alerts? I haven't noticed them....
I have been very concerned with the company - they haven't responded to any contact for weeks and a few people on G+ haven't received their watches yet.
I received my IM watch last week.
I have noticed the following:
It hates recconecting to my galaxy note when it goes out of range
Even with bluetooth keep alive, it likes to disconnect randomly
My bluetooth speakerphone ont he phone is nearly unsuable, either choppy, or not being able to hear anything on the watch.
The apps are craptastic and unusable (for example facebook updates once a day)
It REALLY needs companion software that runs on the phone. Actually, it really needs someone to hack the firmware so it can have custom applications developed for it, the update process is quite easy (upload a rom to the update folder and reboot) and it seems to have something similiar to CW recovery on it.)
It REALLY REALLY feels like an unfinished product, especially considering their firmware versions is 0.5.0. I have a support call arranged with them tomorrow, im not holding my breath.
What are other peoples experiences with the speakerphone? If the apps dont work well (apart from the weather) it would be nice to at least get the speakerphone to work correctly.

Galaxy S2 vs. iPhone 4 vs. LG E900 vs. Lag myth

May I redirect your attention to this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450019
so you focus the lag on browser performance?
...
a dual core would never be better than a single core device /s
like really? I'm trying very hard to find the metric used besides how a page renders data; which is important, but further drives home the point that dual core processors are better at it.
But curiosity killed me
are you running a stock sgsII rom? with no hacks? And the browser is stock?

Either way though that old LG you have to admit is not lagging at all with a single core snapdragon. And my Titan which still has a single core kicks it's butt royally (The LG and is right on par with the dual core Galaxy S2 and the new iphone 4s).

I don't have that option.
XDA is so full of subfora that it's hard to get exposure on some issues which might concern all the fora. That's why I put it in general and put redirect threads which is a common practice done on XDA.

Malware? lol (little poke on that one)
One thing about windows phone is only 5 or 6 apps can run at a time without being tombstoned and the apps cannot effect the o/s
I don't have an SG S2 but i have seen many android phones with high amounts of lag. (felt like i had sticky fingers at times). How is the battery life on it? (with video background i would imagine not as long as it could be)
My biggest gripe though with android is that it doesn't seem to flow from one thing to another. I've setup exchange on 4 different androids at my work in the last 4 months. one was cupcake ... i know ewe... but in each of these, the setup was in different areas. Sometimes it integrated calendars also after an update which the user did not want. One droid broke its exchange connection with an update until google 4 months later released another fix for it (May have been carrier fault but it still took forever which did not make the admin assistant very happy since she booked appointments for the ceo) Needless to say between that and the lag (which for her was probably 60% the crap apps she downloaded) made that phone the last android she would own. She (even though i tried to talk her toward windows phone) went to an iphone 4S. She is however jealous of all the cool free apps i have (most of the iphone ones were paid) and she misses the free apps she had on android, but for stability she is satisfied.
Oh and my Titan only cost me 1 cent with 2 year agreement. She paid heavily for the iphone. Not sure how much SG2 goes for.

My mistake. They gave that option to recognized developers. For some reason I thought they gave it to everyone.
Rules in the dev sections are more strictly enforced, which is where I spent alot of time between 2009 to August of 2011. I still frequent the dev sections, but am not flashing ROMs twice a week anymore so I spend less time there.
Rule 5 in particular is why you are not supposed to do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?a=81

Actually he tried to root it with the wrong kernel, but dream on.
And it took the wrong kernel? Surprized. Most phones won't boot in that case. He got lucky.

1) lag - nice myth, keep it flowin ! (not new)
2) battery life on all smart phones in use is not great. (not new)
3) you mean, like keeping 7+ applications going at once, so you can get directions to a customer, while on the phone, sending an email with said directions along with a PDF they need, directly in the email ? (not new, but not all phones can)
4) i'm sorry you had to use cupcake, really, almost as sorry you have to still use exchange (personal, also not new)
5) just more of 4)
6) just putting the blame where it's convenient ? (not new)
7) see 1), good for her finding a platform that fits great and works great (ios is new everyday)
8) the ios apps are much higher quality, and the huge selection means the tagline "there's an app for that" is still true (not new)
8) continued - if she's setting up things for the ceo, i doubt she, or he, cares less about the cost being $.99-3.99 for the vast majority of very well developed, mature, supported applications available on ios.
9) 'only 99cents on contract' - math (not new, but neglected)
i understand everyone likes one platform over another for personal, business, and sometimes financial reasons. that's fine. if you can't see the benefit of using ios for corporate clients, wether or not you like the platform, something is amiss.

1) Not myth... they would pause and churn. Especially when scrolling. (they weren't all the latest and greatest either as they were ones the consumer picked up.)
2) My sisters Android (not sure which one she has as she is out of state but i see her complaining on facebook about it) lasts 4 hours with medium usage. My titan lasts 15 with heavy.
3) for flow i mean. In one verion of the OS - Email is in one place, in another it's somewhere else. Depends if you have touchwiz, sense ect, and what version of android.
4) cupcake was VERY slow. As for exchange... why sorry? Exchange 2010 kicks butt. not our fault google broke active sync for a few months.
5) Was an example of 4
6) result of example and explaining it may have been her fault but android let her do it.
7) Stability was the plus for her. Free apps though was not with IOS.
8) When you lived in a free world, it gets hard to pay for EVERYTHING useful. Also I work for a nonprofit... she doesn't get paid that much.
9)It was really 1 cent on Blackfriday special. not 99 cents. That was meant for those that complain Windows phone is so expensive.

APP SALE!! "Android Market" is now "Play Store"

SALE ON APPS HERE!!
Google Play APKs here.
Okay so Google has changed a bunch of their apps adding the word "Play", seemingly NOTHING has changed except the addition of the word. Best I can tell it is an attempt to make people aware of their cloud services, which have been in place for a while now. They even changed the "Android Market" on desktop to "Google Play", so pointless. However, they are ushering in the change with a HUGE sale of some of their best apps for only 50c. And the "Play of the Day" is "Where's My Water?" for 25c. My suggestion is buy them all. I already had most of them from the 10c sale they did last year, which was a much better deal, but I picked up the ones I didn't have. Just a heads up.

Nah Apple didn't patent the word "market". LOL.
I always thought Market is too generic for the app store and it can mean anything. Play is not awesome but better than Market, at least it's more identifiable.
Just noticed this new "Play" moniker myself too. Already raped my Visa with a hefty $4 to grab 8 games!
I love it when these types of sales appear...too bad I paid full price for Shadowgun back when it was launched...oh well, the new savings make me feel better!
Good find my man, thanks.
Seems to be a sale on certain music selections today as well.
Best $12.95 I've spent in awhile...

Nah Apple didn't patent the word "market". LOL.
I always thought Market is too generic for the app store and it can mean anything. Play is not awesome but better than Market, at least it's more identifiable.

Apple uses the word "AppStore", and they did sue Amazon over it. I dont think they won, but they absolutely took them to court, because Apple is a bunch of fascist Dbags.

Am I seein' double here? A quadruple post?
I bought Tune in and Shadow Gun. Own a few of the other apps on sale, purchased during the 10 cent sale in December.
I re-did the link hopefully this one is better!
As for the 25c "Play of the Day", "Wheres My Water?", I would say that is a fun game except Disney has pulled a bunch of BS as in excluding levels from the paid version that are in the free version, and then adding Valentines Day levels to the free version ONLY!! Obviously they want you to click on the ads. I have personally wrote them an email and wrote on their fb wall about this, they dont care, they have no intention of updating for users who PAID to support them. They only want you to click on their ads. assholes.
It seams as if the "Play of the Day" thing will be a every day thing now!! That is cool with me. Not quite the Amazon "FREE app of the Day", but I like the Android Market, err, "Google Play" uhm Market better than Amazon AppStore anyways.
Man I hate android's market sometimes. I installed TuneIn Radio Pro from GetJar's market awhile ago. Now it shows up in android's market as having been purchased (which I never did). I'd like to buy it today, but it says it's already purchased. Click on install and it get's declined because I haven't purchased it. I contacted google support over two months ago because of a similar issue with another app and they are 'still working to resolve this issue'. In another year or two, I'm sure they'll get it fixed...sigh. Just give me a delete button.
I guess I can use another google account, but that seems like a pain as well.

Tethered to a bad 3G connection while downloading all the apps I just bought and surfing other pages...a recipe for multi-posting.

It seems that the market has this problem with any 3rd party app store. I got SwiftKey X off Amazon's app store and even though Google's system says I have purchased it, I cannot get it to update. This isn't the biggest problem because I can just hop over to Amazon and do it that way, but it could be annoying if I ever decided I didn't want to partake in Amazon's services anymore...
Hopefully if that day ever comes this issue will be fixed.

I haven't really been watching Amazons FAOTD lately, but when I have looked it seems that the picks are usually not that great. I, for one, would rather have a discounted price on a good app then get a bad one for free...

You'll have to uninstall the GetJar one first.

Had this problem with Osmos HD (got it in the "Humble Bundle" last month, but want updates from Market, err, ugh, Play). I uninstalled, cleared chache/data in Market, "broke" Market links with Titanium Backup, waited about 10 minutes and was able to purchase it on desktop. Hope that helps!

Agreed agreed agreed! And I would rather give 25c to the Android Market than deal with the Amazon AppStore. But just as an example.. Today's app "WMW?" was given away for free from Amazon months ago. Its actually really wierd, I LOVE everything else about Amazon.. Their cloud is the tits! UNLIMITED music in the cloud for $20/year. Their Prime service is double tits! Yes I am a homebody, and Ive been boycotting WalMart for years now. Their customer service is excellent, any time I have a problem and that is rare, but if I do they just credit me back the cost no questions asked. Their Free app of the Day is a really cool concept BUT the Amazon AppStore app itself drives me effing crazy! I dont know what it is about it I just hate it, yes I realize it just got an update recently and the notifications can now be disabled, but I just dont have any love for the Amazon AppStore app. I always kill it after checking the FAotD because I feel like it eats my battery.

Apple did sue Amazon for calling it Amazon Appstore but Google's app market is, was called Market which Apple did NOT patent for it and did NOT sue.
Apple is just capitalism at its finest. There's nothing personal about all the lawsuits, especially after Jobs passed away.

I think you are confusing capitalism and fascism. As for Steve Jobs I hear Apple is releasing an upgraded version this summer. Steve Jobs 2.0 will come with curley hair, a white turtleneck, and not wear "dad jeans".
