Which are the best combo of battery for you??
For example...
Doom kernel v18
Rom arconium v8
Baseband .36
Governor ondemand
I/O deadline
%/hour idle 3g 2.4
%/hour idle wifi 1.33
%/hour idle 0.8
Etc...

The new (!) FXP104 kernel with baseband -36 (included libs) and CyanogenMod7.
I haven't seen such a great battery life on a CM before.
And for me it's even better than DooMKernel v18 with baseband -64 (included libs) and Acronium 6.0.
Maybe I should have tried it with -36 baseband, but either way I'm happy right now.

For me battery drains still fast in FXP104 , no matter which baseband ( i tried: -36,-56,-64)
in 3g-mode akku lasts not even 10 hours with medium Use ( 10 sms, 10 min phone and some news reading (~30 min).
i did a full wipe at upgrade from 103, to be sure everything is clean.

But you have flashed the new kernel from FXP104 too?
For me, my battery lasts about 18 hours with my usually usage.
(constantly 3G mode, brightness at 50 %, a few calls and sms, exchange/gmail/facebook autosync, and about 2 hours internet radio)

Yes i flashed the Kernel which is shipped with the rom.
in 103 i tested the Mugetsu-Kernel too , but no difference..
maybe i am just expecting too much, because with my ZTE Blade Battery lastet at least 48h with the same apps and Settings.
for Example one Night (7h) in Flight-mode : Blade 1-2% Battery Drain, Arc: ~10% ..
Please follow the example of the first post
Thanks

The best is blend miui with the blend kernel from jason.
About 2 a 3 % in 8 hours with all data off.
Second is stockrom based roms with advanced stock kernel from Doom
About 4 a 5% in 8 hours with all data off.

How is this possible? :O I have around 12h of use and it's dead. I sms much though...
Arconium 6.0 alongside doomkernel v18 w'out fix; with htk 512 multitasking from v6supercharger r8 gives more battery life for me.
Went zero after fully utilised from 0700hrs to 2030hrs

Hi XDAers
I’ve created this thread based on a recommended setup from geko95gek which seems to be working great for a bunch of us.
There is a major improvement in battery life, UI lag and general performance. I thought I would never get the battery improvements that a lot of us DHD owners have “desired” (very punny)
Of course, the combination is important, and obviously others have different ROMs that they favour.
What’s yours?
And what is so good about your combo?
(Please mention your reasoning based on performance, battery life etc).
This is mine:
rom: CM7.0.2
kernel: LorDmod V4.5.2 CFS BFQhs + lowervoltages -50mV (SMARTASS, MIN: 230, MAX: 1382MHz)

The Radio work´s wonders for me, never had this god receprion, and battery life.

Well, you can use setcpu..And I think this is for people whose kernel doesn't have smartass governer.CM7 kernel all has smartass governer nowadays,so i prefer you to use smartass..
And here is explanation, may be not all correctly sorry for poor English
Sampling Rate 20000 shorter~speed, longer~bettery prefer 20000~30000
Up threshold 95 shorter~speed, longer~bettery 95 prefered
Ignore Nice Load 1 If you choose 0,For example you open an app,the cpu will go up to 998,but if you choose 1,your cpu will only be set at 614,and it doesn't effect your speed
Powersave Bias 200 shorter~speed, longer~bettery prefer 100~200
MDJ Ultimate Droid V1.7 w LordMod 3.1.3 kernel (288MHz - 1.3GHz)
I absolutely love the battery life. Never gotten such a good battery life.
Moderate usage, including about 2 hour of radio playback, about 18 hours a day and it has frigging 25% battery left!
I'm on this configuration and it seems great!
ROM: CM 7.0.2
Radio/RIL: 12.54.60.25fP_26.09.04.11_M2 (Latest)
Kernel: Stock CM (Looking into alternatives, curious )
[ROM] Android Revolution 5.1.1
[RADIO+RIL] 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2
[KERNEL] mdjs_V8_2.6.35.10_OC1900_SLQB_CIFS_TUN_VR
So that would be latest radio as of this post and that kernel allows overclock up to 1.9Ghz. But recommend at most 1.6-1.7Ghz as maximum using SetCPU app.
Issues with this combination:
1. WiFi disconnects automatically if signal is low. But there is a patch for that, or set high performance in wifi settings advanced or wait for ROM 5.1.2 later
2. Flash is broken. But can use Titanium Backup app to wipe flash cache and uninstall then re-install from marketplace.
No other issues after days of using.
Also what I do is examine everyone's signatures in development section for good combinations.
ROM : CM7 kanged 7.1 with the latest changes
Kernel : 2.6.32.39 cyanogenmod -ga56dc1b
I used the recommended radio 26.04.02.17 but after built 57 i faced a lot of bad receptions+worse battery life so i flashed the latest radio
26.09.04.11_M2 with matched ril 2.2.0131HM .
Now everything works fine, low battery consumption (3% overnight), no disconnection at all and keep testing

I am experiencing the same, was running doom v10 before and it would consume 1% per 2-3 hours. With v11 it is 1-2% per hour. Have checked cpuspy and it is running 98% in deepsleep and battery history only show the usual cell standby as power consuming.
Have only been running v11 since yesterday but will probably go back to v10 due to the battery drain.

I just installed CM7.2 v1.6 because I heard its very stable and have good battery life. However, with light usage, I only get 6 hours of battery life (I used to get at least 15 hrs with the same type of usage with my old incredible 1 using OMGB rom). I checked the battery history. Apparently, my screen has been draining battery DESPITE being off. Do you guys have a solution for this? Is it my kernel?

My guess is it very well could be the kernel... but there is the possibility its the ROM.... I know with most ROMs I have tried I lose hours off my battery with them no matter what kernel I use.... try a different kernel but if it is still short I would suggest a different ROM.

I used that kernel & didn't get good battery life either. I would try aeros v9 & see if that helps. I would wipe cache & dalvic cache & then let your phone drain completely. Afterwards, I would charge it fully & you should get at least a day & half

Sweet. How many hours do you get with 3G on with minimal usage?
It's important to check, adjust & optimize your widget settings, and APPS running in the background, i.e. News & Weather, Mail & Gmail (push, updated every xx minutes,) timeout for screens (30 sec. vs. 2 minute) - along with Friendstream/Facebook & Twitter that are constant "on" - even GPS updates, as all these will "wake" up the phone, switch on 3G signal or WiFi radio, and discharge/drain the battery.
With very conservative and minimal data settings, wife's DI2 is running Skyraider's Zeus V1.3 custom Rom, #79 kernel & .312 radio, and getting as much as 5 days (100+ hours) of standby time with short voice calls, no web browsing or SMS/MMS usage.
Running Sense 2.1/3.0 custom roms, my results are worst, but typically 40 to 60, maybe 70 hours usage - with CM7 and CM9 unoffical roms, 30 to 50 hours are typical for me - the newer roms are power hungry - 20 to 40 hours running 4.x.x.x on my DI2, running modest OC (1.2 Ghz, SmartassV2 governor) with .312 radio and #21 kernel, or, Aero's 10.5 or 12 kernel.
Individual results will and do vary - generalization should be noted simply as such ...
Hi all
i just changed my rom from PA 2.22 to xylon 006 and i think i am suffering from some battery drain issue but i am not very sure ...
first off when i was using PA i am able to get about 18 hours of battery with 3 hours of screen time ( about 100% - 10% ) on stock PA kernel by the way , while on xylon my battery life is11 hours and 30 minutes with 2 hours of screen time ( 100% - 0% ) on Trinity kernel 1420 - 384
( stock/ franco kernel creates a yellowish screen on my phone whereas trinity kernel fixes it ) i heard 4.2 have some issues with battery and i am not really complaining just trying to make sure , oh i just bough setcpu from playstore and i realized i can change the scheduler ( noop , deadline etc ) and some weird stuff called interactive , ondemand etc ..so should i meddle with it ? how should i tweak it to get maximum battery life?
While i am on Trinity on dark PA 4.1.2, I know the kernel has some problems for now with 4.2 so i suggest you try Franco and install Trickster MOD app from the play store. Its free.
When installed, just apply the Trinity colors in screen section. Voilà!
Or reflash Xylon twice then the kernel. This might not be the kernel fault. Could be one gapp sucking all the juice... have you installed spyCPU and better battery stats to see which app was running?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
kays thanks for the great advice downloading the app now! still what is the difference between franco and trinity kernel?

Screenshot from Monday AM. Please ignore the mobile network signal bar, every version of Cyanogenmod 10 I've used has the same problem where it stops logging data after about 10 - 15 hours, but my phone does pretty much always have at least 2 bars of signal where I live and work (split about 60/40 between 2G & 3G/HSDPA)
If it helps, here are the cpu states for the last 55 hours useage:

The best battery saving rom is CM9 with the older 2.6.35 kernel. So for example Arcos CM9 RC2 or RC3, the older Slimbeam ROM or this mentioned SmoothieICS. (The other two ones are just modified and themed CM9 RC2 or RC3) For even better results you need an undervolting 2.6.35 Kernel.
My battery for example lasts 3-5 days with CM9 RC2 and Arcos stock kernel. With my personal uv kernel it lasts even more.

Sure. Just drop me your e-mail via PM and I will compile one with stock voltages you then can adjust with incredicontrol to your needs. It´s because my kernel is preset to extreme undervolting voltages and that might be to much undervolting for your cpu.
Btw Arcos kernel has also deep sleep implemented and all custom kernels are basing on arcos kernel, so not only SmoothieICS is going into deepsleep but all custom roms are doing it as well.

Unfortunately the two main culprits are K9 email and ebay, both of which are pretty important for me to have running and not in a hibernated state.
However, from the last charge on my phone I have got 2 days, 4 hours, 29 mins with 12% battery remaining - so could be worse I suppose
Thanks for the suggestion though :good:
