It's not very hard to find out what you are: YOU ARE A NOOB ON XDA-DEVELOPERS. But instead of doing something against that, you decided to be rude and offensive and become a bigger noob. You cannot be serious that you thought buying an XDA-App and donating twice will prevent that you have to do something (e.g. using the search)?
Furthermore, you seem unable to write / use normal english language (best example for what I mean is the title of your thread [Soon up I rip my balls out!]). Do you have some problems to solve?
And the answer to your question is: YES, you should put your wife (to be honest, I doubt you have one) in front the of computer and let her search for you. She could not it worse than you.
In the end I am very happy I did not waste my time to help a guy like you. We (the people here on XDA) cannot suffer guys like you.

You really think I will believe you have that disease???? If you really have dyslexia, then you would have my pity and I or rather we here would have helped you.
BUT you wrote absolutely nothing about that in your OP or in your reply to my first answer. You did not even mention you used the search!!
Instead, you came up with that disease after being rude and offensive and getting rebuked. Sorry dude, but for me this sounds like you just made this disease up to have a good reason for your bad behavior (no offense).

I have a sense of deja vu on this thread.....

Like i said.. i have done that for days/weeks. I am not unreasonable. But there is so much to get hands on. I have learned about HBOOT and Recoveries, iv learned about partitioning and what that is, also learned about some apps like data2sd and link2sd. But I'm not sure which HBOOT and how partition with which recovery, and still have my stock froyo 2.2 to just do a factory reset.
And English isn't my mother language, I'm from Norway. So posting this was really like last option for me.

OK, I will try to give you a little help here. For a start, how many apps do you have? For you to be losing all that space on stock Froyo, you must have quite a few. Do you need them all? Can you delete few?
Since you are root and S-off, you really are better off loading a custom ROM that uses a different Hboot. Stock ROM will need stock Hboot. Different Hboots only work with certain ROMs, as directed in that particular ROM thread. You probably already realise that each Hboot will have different partitions and therefore offer varying amounts of space.
Swap partiton will be of no use to you at this stage. Unless you are using a ROM that requires it. And without knowing every single ROM around right now, I don't even think there are many that use this anymore, anyway...
So in short, delete some apps, or load a new ROM. Please don't ask which one is best, there are to many pro's and con's for each one, it has to be your own choice.
Finally, it's good you saw where you went wrong. Let this be a lesson. People here are happy to help people hat help themselves...and if you need someone to sit at the computer for you, then that is what you must do. Only after you have shown that you've gone to the effort, with no results, do you post a new thread, asking a very old question. And never, ever, be rude and act like you deserve special treatment. There are people here that can't even speak English and they get by just fine.
Good luck.

Clawsman, first some general advice: Even though this is the internet you are dealing with real people. If you conduct yourself like you would in real life (that means no talking about your balls for a start ) you'll have no problems at all. The way you started this thread was very rude and surely you wouldn't talk that way when asking strangers for help in real life.
Just be polite
As for your phone: I had exactly the same problem. I used stock froyo and was pretty content with it, except for the low memory. The phone could take just a few dozen apps and it'd be full.
So last week I decided to take the plunge and install a new ROM. It took several days before I got things to work properly. It was a very frustrating experience and I had to trouble-shoot guides every step of the way. But in the end I got it done
So this is just to say I understand your frustration. Flashing your phone the first time is not easy. But if you stick with it you can get it done.
Good luck!

Take ur pills and chill dude, if don't know reading and writing go take some calss, give ur paypal I will pay for it.

Clawsman, what so many people fail to realize, is that a good part of the information on this board is very outdated. Most of the threads that tell you to "start here" are chock full of old information that has never been updated since people started figuring out how to root their phones. For example, none of the noob threads point you to Revolutionary as a very simple means of doing s-off and rooting your phone. My suggestion would be to go to http://revolutionary.io/ to s-off and root your phone. After that, you can choose a different recovery, I would suggest 4EXT. You'll also want to choose a different ROM. There some "simple" roms such as CM7.1 or Oxygen, or you can choose something like MUIU XJ or Supernova that will give you a lot more room for apps by fooling the phone into thinking your SD card is part of your internal memory. You'll want to research a recovery and a rom to use together, otherwise you could run into problems.
My suggestions above are highly simplified. You'll need to do your research to see which will work best for you, and you'll also want to make sure they work with your particular Desire. Some models, such as my US Cellular CDMA, have very limited options and can be bricked if you try to flash the wrong thing (although it can usually be fixed).

I guess I'd take outdated over erroneous anytime now. Cm7r2 is not recovery.

Well said is quite the understatement. Has anyone seriously tried doing searches on this site for stuff? Sometimes you do find what you're looking for fairly easily, other times you can't find a damn thing that should be readily available. And if you're in panic mode because you think you just bricked your phone, are you going to search this entire site for an answer that might not show up in your search results? Hell no, you'd probably just create a new thread begging for help.
If you can't contribute and only talk down to people, shut your ass up. No one needs that type of attitude here.

I have to disagree.
First and foremost, give a man a fish... teach a man to fish...
The post you quote seems entirely accurate. The OP could obviously use more research as the answers are available. A little time with google alone will usually lead me to what I seek right here on xda.
I feel that the majority of xda contributors are more than willing to help if you show some indication that you have exhausted all your resources in finding your own solution. Though I do understand that moments of panic occur when nothing seems to work but it is always best as well as more satisfying to try and work through it yourself.
This forum does have a Q and A section that would be perfectly suited to handle this thread. The development section really isn't the place. You will get more welcome responses over there as that is its purpose.
Finally, as a member of this forum, I appreciate that of all the posts in this thread, yours (and suilmagic) were the only post that really did anything to help the OP.

I understand you point and I agree 100% people need to research their problems on a search engine (including the one we have here built in XDA (very handy)) because the majority of time, it will appear right onthe first page if you type your problem correctly, I agree with you. However, some users rather act in a certain way which would describe them as "assholes" if you cant contribute one way or the other why even post at all? if you dont know then theres no need to post unnecessary things. Just dont post and OP will get the picture and look somewhere else.

I agree with this as well though I hesitate at the name calling as it is also unproductive.
I miss the old days when we were all figuring it out together and questions turned to discussions. With the wealth of knowledge that has been built since then I guess some are not as willing to help others work through the problems. I do believe that if this thread had landed in Q&A it would have, or at least should have, received better response.

Update on HTC G2 Crashed and Bricked
I followed the instructions posted on this site to try and recover my G2 to no avail. After hours with an Android Developer the apparent issue was with the phone's internal memory.
I recieved a replacement and all is good. I've flashed a number of 2.3 roms in addition to roms that have Sense, flashed a kernel or two with no problems.
I hope I don't re create the same condition that started this post. I'm not sure what I did to cause the issue in the fisrt place.
Thanks to all the people out there who tried their best to help.

[Q] ...How Do I root it?

Maybe I'm blind, but I'm searching all over the dev forum for the incredible 2, there are no official links that explain how to root the phone. Please help, thank you.
I would think that if have been searching you would have read that there is no way to do a software root. You probably would have also read that you can buy an XTC clip to achieve S=Off.
Is this just temporary or will there be a way to software s-off? I'm sorry I have been searching and reading I just don't understand I'm a noob the original incredible was easy to do cause I used unrevoked
Again, if you had been reading, you might have come across a thread that discusses the software method of S=Off.
link me please?
to answer your question... no there is no software unlock yet. It is coming, it has been verified to work and has been done to a few testers.
there is no ETA.
if you need it now, buy an xtc clip and you can unlock it immediately.
lastly, this should be in general, not development.
thanks brah

There is life beyond the message board, you might want to have a look.
I understand that this is a matter of semantics, but the I2 was rooted long ago...with software. What we're lacking is an unlock to allow root to be permanent (persistent through reboots). You can root now and gain many of the benefits (and problems) of root if you really want to without paying a dime.
Now if you want to use custom firmwares, that requires unlocking. This can be done with a piece of hardware that is available now, or a piece of software that everyone is still waiting on.

I have done some searching and have found two possible routes. One is AlpharevX (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132920&page=40) and the other is with the Rebel XTC (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1156534&page=5).
The sites are http://alpharev.nl/x/beta/, and http://www.xtcclip.com/.
AlphaRev is still beta though they claim no bricks reported so far. Since it is Beta you are supposed to interactively get a Beta key from their site to activate the software. This key is generated only if it 'likes' the serial number. The latter by the looks of it is a hardware tool which loads on your sd-card. If you go the alpha route then you must manually download and install the viow version of CWM! Still waiting for Unrevoked!

Are you looking for a thrill chill?
WM6.5 would make more sense with SD Card support and retro apps that have much more usefulness.
How would one get past the DRM that’s gives Willy Peeon access to all the content on ones device?
I would rather see a dual boot Android/WM 6.5....
Maybe start with the Fathom V7 ROM and just fix the data drop issue.
Then stick it in the face of that little dictator**** wanabe website LGforum that will ban you for telling it like it is.
If I could just get past decompiling the .wdb file...
The rest is just engineered obsolescence of the Fathom.
Your ROM help those who would consider trying that type of OS.

Hey,

I didn't mean to dis anyone or their hard work.
If you found a way to make it work then that's a whole nother story.
That sounds like something I might just try out in my spare time.
I just thought that with the internal memory limitations of the DInc II and the restriction of WP7 to not allow the use of an SD Card, there wouldn’t be much room to load programs. Kind of like the AndrOmnia project...
I do appreciate the work of just about all of the devs that I have read about.
I didn’t know that it was actually a work in progress.
And that wanabe website I was referring to is the LGforum that could be if it were controlled by someone other than North Korea.
Keep up the great work…
Yehp.. It's still beta... what dows LG forums have to do with this? The rom should be out of beta next week sometime.. IM releasing the blurless version tomorrow"pretty much blurless" I just have a couple more things I need to take care of on x2 side before I can start on this.

well unless someone is willing to do it, i dont know what this poll even accomplishes. I'm under the impression that porting a different OS takes a lot more skill than making a native rom, otherwise the HD2 wouldn't be the only phone with 9000 different operating systems.
I vote yes, more roms are always awesome.

I had spied that awhile ago. Finally tested it marvelc side; didn't work except for the desensing/resensing. That works from all indications.
I also found an apk on the market I've mentioned a few times that does root/unroot; It's called un-Rooting [and the subtitles are in a language I can't read; but it works marvelc side][anyone care to test it gsm side?]; busybox [installer] also available on market. I've found market apps to be easy advice.
As for gsm'ers only known tool [still] to work is the xtc clip; which is a small hardware device one can order for around $40; Simonsimon34 has the latest s-off guide for marvelc.
Alquez's cwm works on both cdma & gsm
Thought I'd drop mention of these tools again.
Rob
PS I found a really useful market app that was started here on xda.. ZDbox I got to find the thread and thank the developer, but it has battery percentage/status & power-saver, task killer, app uninstaller/management [inc Apps2sd], and System Cleaner [cache & history]. Can replace 4-5 apps with this one. Good good end-user tool.
Another misleading thread. l00k, please ask a mod to delete this.
It's already proven that it doesn't work on GSM phones.
The Wildfire S is already full of information on how to s-off CDMA phones.
There is no need to confuse more people.
I guess I can speak on behalf of all WFS GSM users. Please delete this. PLEASE!
Who created the Super Tool and who posted a thread about it on XDA should first confirm if the information is correct. It DOESN'T work on Wildfire S except CDMA versions.
In case you still didn't get it, this is NOT directed to you. It's a general complaint:
It's incredible that so many people post things just because somebody says it works.
Wouldn't it be smarter to confirm first and post after? I'm not talking about you, l00k.
I'm really tired of reading the same crap over and over again, including the people that almost want to force us to buy a XTC Clip. Some say it isn't rocket science because we can sell it after using... but maybe some people just don't have the time, patience or money to do that. It's easy to talk about ourselves. I guess some people should learn how to walk in other people's shoes.
A simple "Doesn't work on GSM" would of done the trick.
You don't get S-OFF for being a ****

Are you happy now that you've insulted someone that didn't disrespect you?
Congratulations for your smart post. Seriously! I love when people are rude and unpolite. It just shows their character.

I think an apology would be in order.

question
Although this thread is a repeat and will get deleted because... well if you read it, its just not what xda is about. Even so, I will ask a gsm'r does this tool seem to perform only zerg-rush, desense and resense like on cdma side? Or does nothing work, differences? It does not work for root cdma side, unroot fails, and the methodology is different so I doubt it would s-off on our side. I will contact the developer to specify partial functionality with WFS but no s-off (upon gsm analysis confirmation). Discuss.

Nobody threw stones at him in the first place.
I explained why this thread should be removed and also took the opportunity to talk about other annoying habits. I think it's pretty clear I wasn't referring to l00k, so I really don't understand why he replied that way.
It seems that he accepted the general criticism as it was directed only to him.
Thanks to d33ps1x for his support. I try my best to help the community and suddendly I get called a ****...
How about an apology instead?
This kind of thread leads to nothing but legacy again...

I apologised in my initial post to GSM users but I wont apologise for my reaction to what was in no way a supportive and useful reply from Migualca. In fact its the most annoying thing anyone has ever said to me since joining these forums backl in 2006. Tact is a wonderful thing (jk)
Anyway this was posted to help and I genuinely do hope you guys get your software S-OFF. I've still got my blacklisted wildfire S and would be willing to rip its guts out testing tools like this to help.

Besides already having clicked "thanks" I felt the need to express my gratitude for your post.
You are also very supportive and helpful, the kind of user XDA needs.
There is one thing on earth that I don't tolerate to ANYBODY: lack of respect/education. That's why my motto is: don't disrespect others if you don't want to be disrespected.

Guys, sry but pls stop it.
As much as i can see both of you told things that could be spelled another way
Miguelca i know, your pissed (sry for the bad spelling, but i think it hits the point) on, because you thought there finally is a way for gsm users to s-off their device without xtc and you where disappointed once more, but because of this it shouldn't be delteted, it should be marked like others with cdma only. I know it's hard and i also know you done much for the community, but try to be happy for others that they got one more option, i'm sure there will come a way for gsm users finally.
And 100k, sry but your rudness wasn't correct and your really should apology for it, there are other ways to tell such things than such a bad language.
At this point Miguelca is right, you should bring more respect to others, if he tells something that you think it's not true or should be handled another way, express it in a normal way not like you did. It's much more constructive and others can accept it or/and discuss it with you, but like you did they get angry and things get badder not better, so pls be patient next time and tell what you want to tell as smooth as you can.

Don't worry tectas. This is definitely my last post about this bad soap-opera.
l00k doesn't care to reread my first post and doesn't want to admit that there is a part he must have overlooked or misunderstood. Some people want to be always on top, even when they have no arguments and need to use rude language. Just one simple conclusion: l00k wrote 212 posts since September 2006 and got 9 thanks. I'm here since June 2010, wrote 114 posts (before this one) and got 51 thanks.
I rest my case.

I think you are right about not deleting the posts like this and renaming them. If other posts hadn't been deleted (and I did search on the subject before posting) then I would have seen it was cdma only.
Sorry for calling you a **** miguelca it wasn't very nice and I should have elaborated a little more as to why your comment and comments like them annoy me so much. I don't spend much time in the wfs section anymore I saw the article in an rss feed from another android site and thought about you guys. I saw no other posts about the unlock tool so thought i'd share it. Seeing as this site is international and this section is not just about gsm phones it is a valid thread. Try not to jump on people so quickly.
FYI the thanks button hasn't been there since the dawn of time.

l00k, thanks for publicly admitting that your comment wasn't very nice and for apologising. I appreciate your gesture.
You didn't explain why I annoyed you so much with my words and that's why I didn't understand the reaction from your side.
Thanks for your intention to help this community and sorry for jumping so quickly on you with a "hard" comment.
As you know a big part of my post wasn't directed to you, but I get the idea...
In the future I will try not to "jump on people" so quickly.
Oh and BTW I know the thanks button isn't available since the beginning.
This was just a way to show you that in general my comments are well accepted and also thanked for. No regrets. Peace.

Chronosphere out!
Hello!
I'd urge you to first take a look at the Note II Toolkit, click here to find it. With that, you should first do two things before you start modifying your phone:
1) Using the toolkit, make a full Nandroid backup of your phone so you have a backup of it on your PC in case something goes wrong.
2) Also backup the EFS, you can do that with the toolkit too! EFS backup backs up the IMEI information and a whole lot of other very very important things that you may need in the future if something goes wrong with your phone.
After you have done those things, you should explain here more clearly what it is you would like to know more about, because I think the people who have read this thread aren't sure about what it is you're asking for! Lots of helpful people here but you should explain a bit more clearly! I will help as much as I can.
Thanks man This is what i needed too hear, just a tiny beginner guide on how to do backups is always nice and this is exellent service !
yes next time i shall not be as grumpy either plus my "slam typings " is understandable if you not only just follow what it says but understand what each word means its clearly says i want too know how to costumnize my phone and i would like help with this ..xD but hey next time
If you ask specific questions and use just a bit more punctuation, we can help you out. I know getting the hang of the Android development scene can be difficult, so feel free to ask, and make the most of the guides on the top of the boards.

You don't have to be 100% grammatically correct. But buddy this is an International forum where as per forum rules only English is allowed.
I'm an Indian, you know the national language here is Hindi, my mother tongue is Bengali, so in that sense English is my third language, but I hate it when I see someone else posting here with non English language or bragging about how to use another language on their Note 2.
Sorry, I just couldn't resist myself, but have absolutely no intention to abuse/insult you.
