Cool3D Aces v7 stuck in bootloop - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to flash Cool3D Aces v7. Here's some info on my phone
BravoC DVT2SHIP S-OFF (achieved by Revolutionary)
HBoot 6.06.1002
Radio 2.15.00.02.17
I've wiped everything except my SD. I've created an ext-4 partition using 4ext. I've checked the alignment with 4ext and it was perfect.
I flashed v6. I then flashed hboot_stock. Then I flashed v7, and then the hboot_stock again for good measure.
I continue to get stuck in bootloop.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As you have a BravoC you need to flash CDMA converter from coolexe

v7 is the GSM-CDMA converter. I've done everything to the letter. Would changing to the cm7/r2 bootloader have any impact?

What you mean changing to cm7? did you or not?
all alpharev hboot are DESIGNED for DESIRE GSM
where did you find V7?

First of all, thank you for responding.
I have not changed. I'm using the stock bootloader, as far as I can tell. I am, however, currently running a cm7 nightly(which I know has no impact on this conversation).
V7 is the gsm to cdma script I found on www(dot)cooldevs(dot)com/archives/394
I miss HTC sense in some regards, and really liked the looks of this rom. That is why I wanted to give it a go.

thank god you did not...
1. do back up with recovery
2. wipe all partitions + dalvik
3 flash in this order: Rom.zip > GSM_to_CDMA.zip > weather_pack.zip > stock_hboot.zip
4 reboot
btw one guy posted is not working properly on cdma... Could be your case too?
just have a go... fingers crossed for you...
if not try to pm coolexe for any advice

Still didn't work. I guess I'll have to msg cool exe.

It have HBOOT: 0.75 / S-On
and:
Androïd version: 2.2
ROM Radio: 5.14.05.17
Kernel version: 2.6.32.15
Build number: 2.29.405.5
Software: LeeDroid v2.3d A2SD+
Browser version: Webkit 3.1
is it possible?
what HBOOT take/choose?
what PB99IMG? what is it PB99IMG? what use?

thanks
Follow this guide:

(remove spaces between www)
if you don't know how to boot from a usb drive/cd you just go into BIOS (press either F2, F10, del, or esc while booting, different computers use different keys), navigate to boot order/boot options and move you cd drive/usb port up top.
I did this on my A8181 and it works flawlesly
Just read the S-OFF thread on here - don't need to go to another site
I did it, everything seems OK, but the Phone don't boot: it stays eternally at the first splash screen
did I brick it?
In Bootloader, it displays that:
Alpharev Oxygen
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.93.1000
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101
RADIO-5.14.05.17

No, boot in recovery and flash a rom. If there is no recovery flash one with fastboot, then flash a rom.

already tested to flash LeeDroid 2.3d ROM: no luck!!
I have Clockworlmod recovery, v.3.0.0.5: it's via it, I flash the ROM
but it seems there is hope! Good news!!
Maybe the HBOOT Oxygen is the problem. I don't think LeeDroid fit into oxygen table. Try to flash another HBOOT

The alternative hboot doesn't change the size of the internal memory, it just changes partition layout. Leedroid will never fit the oxygen hboot. Is you want to keep using leedroid use stock bravo layout or slim the rom down yourself and use bravo sense.

Unfortunately, yes. If you accidentally flash a corrupted HBOOT image, your phone will be bricked. You can read more about the s-off's risks on alpharev site.

Yes, I used Bravo Oxygen: I'll try Bravo Data ++
is it good for LeeDroid 2.3d?
Ok done, no change
- flash Data++
- full wipe
- flash LeeDroid
same thing!
The DATA++ table do not fit the LeeDroid. Maybe you should flash the bravo stock table instead

[Q] Cant flash any sense rom ? Need help .

I cant flash any sense rom , i tried to flash leedroid 2.4.1 .
my phone is rooted and s-off .
when i try to flash sense rom the screen remains on "why so serious s-off" screen .
I tried Leedroid , Auraztense , Cool HD, RemixHD , MIUI nd some other roms before
but i can easily install cm7 without any problem nd is fast too .
i flash cwm 3.005 then 3.0.2.4 and finally went back to 2.5.0.7 with flash utility.
on my bootloader screen it is like this :
Alpharev Sense
Bravo PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
Hboot 0.93.1000
MICROP - 031d
Touch Panel - SYNT0101
Radio - 5.14.05.17
what should i do now ??
Nandroid, go back to stock and start the rooting/S-OFF again
can i use this stock rom ??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741775
this one is already rooted !
if not ,
can u pls provide me the link for appropriate one ? pls .
Up to you but you said you can't use any custom Sense ROMs so you'll need to use an RUU to go back to stock. Was your phone branded when you got it? If you did things properly you should already have made a note of your original FW on your unit and have the right RUU for your handset
Not sure about miui but for the rest I'm pretty sure they don't fit the sense hboot. Unless it was a data++ type. Have you tried it with stock bravo hboot?

Good spot, didn't think of the OP using a different HBOOT
To the OP - when you went S-OFF did you flash a different HBOOT? Like the Oxygen one or CM? If so, you need the stock one for a Sense-based ROM

Welcome to the Vision Forums
The DZ hboot will work fine with any other roms and will be essential for all future virtuous releases.
Using the DZ hboot increases the size of the system partition meaning that larger roms will fit on to the phone. Sense 3.0 roms are huge and if you use the G2 hboot its very difficult to get the roms to fit on to the phone. There are guides dotted around the forums if you ever needed to return to the stock hboot.
Changing the hboot to the dz one wont hurt. It simply changes how much space is divided between system and data.
You should be all set if u us the dz hboot and it would guarantee that you can use all the roms from the g2/dz forums.

How to upgrade hboot

Hi all, so I've been trying to update my hboot from 0.75.0000 to .93 but have been FAILING miserably. I'm currently on ICS, and have tried alpharev which didn't work. Trying to flash rom to RUU has also failed but I don't know why. Flashed my radio to match the one with the RUU and that didn't work, which i'm guessing is due to the inability to simply flash from ICS to 2.2 or 2.3?
So my question is, any other tips?
Try to flash the hboot downgrade from alpharev then the right RUU. If that works you can root and s-off your phone with unrevoked/revolutionary. If you want to change hboot to cmr7 or data ++ (example) you MUST be s-off......

Thanks for tip, I've actually done alpharev and it also failed. Reason being it needs a rom that doesn't already have a2sd, any suggestion as to which rom is suitable?
Thanks
Edit: I've actually online done the hboot reflash, and not the downgrade. Will give that a go first and see what happens.
I think that all the rooted roms have some sort of a2sd, that's why I think you have to start from the beginning. Start with an original ruu.bring it back to its original state wich came out of the box...my knowledge doesn't reach that far ;-) its the easyest way I think.

Can you post your complete bootloader. Turn of phone, hold down volume and press power. What info does the left upper corner give you ?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
It is:
BRAVO UNKNOWN SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.75.0000
MICROP-031D
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-4.05.00.11
MAR 5 2010,21:12:15
Still I think what's best is to go back all the way and install a ruu. Then go directly to revolutionary. It will root and s-off your phone and installs the custom hboot.
Maybe I have more time to help tonight, I am at work now :-(

That's what I'm thinking too, hence why I'm trying to flash an RUU onto the device. I however get this error when I do it
Error[140]: Bootloader version error
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone

I conclude that the downgrade did not work ?

Hey there, firstly I would like to thank you for ALL your help and of course the effort you've put in it.
I've actually fixed it by firstly going to page ~16 of the android development forum for the desire, get an old rom, flash it in and then performed the alpharev. Lo and behold it worked because the rom is reasonably old and a2sd was "new" then. Flashed it back to ICS now and I am proud to announced that I S-OFF'ED!!! Partition done and OFF I GO.
That's great !!!! Have fun with your fixed desire )))

@bjornzzz Any suggestion on which rom you flashed. I've arrived at this boot loader while going back to stock from alpharevx hboot / ics rom.
Flashing an Ruu before flashing the alpharev downgrade didn't help much. LOL

HTC Desire doesn't take most Custom ROMs

My HTC Desire "breaks" most times I'm trying to install a Custom ROM.
The only ROM that has worked so far was Sandvold Beta 0.11.
I've also tried: D-Sense 4.0 Alpha 0.4, Cool 3D Runny v7.
Every time I flash those ROMs via Clockwork Mod Touch 5.8.0.2, the installation process finishes without any problems, but when I reboot the phone it hangs at the ROMs boot screen forever (not the HTC screen).
I have a GSM Desire (Bravo) S-OFF, Stock Hboot 6.93.1002, PVT1, Radio 5.11.05.27
I hope someone can help me as I'd love to have the Desire running ICS and some kind of HTC Sense...
Thanks in advance for any help.

Sd-ext configuration?
I'm a bit ashamed to say, but how do I find out what my SD-Ext configuration is?
I haven't changed it, so I assume it's standard...
PS: I have now tried MIUI Android 2.4.13 which (wait for it) worked!!

Most Sense roms require ext partition as they store their data there because of the limited internal memory Desire has. No roms that have ext in their requirements will work this way.
Find some guides on how to partition you SD-card.
OK, I have created a 1GiB sd-ext with ClockworkMod and both ROMs install but they still don't want to boot.
I've checked the SD card in a PC and there is a 1GiB ext3 partition at the end of the card.
What am I doing wrong?
