They are just terrible.
for the first week, it attracted sweat. I was not even sweaty, yet it absorbed the sweat. If i were watching you tube videos, i could see where it was wet and id have to wipe it away.
for the second week. Its picking up fingerprints, in my pocket. its that bad. The fingerprints dont go away either. It starts making bumps. Heres the kicker, if you try to swypeD See what i did there?) it away, more finger prints! They start to make it hard just to swipe left and right in the home screens.
To point out some other flaws-
-OverPriced
-Does not even cover the complete screen
-Attracts sunlight
-cut outs are too large, incase of user error
-comes in a pack of 3, so if i get a new screen protector (no way im not) ill feel bad about it. (yes, this is a flaw.)
So Never, Never, Ever, get the verizon screen protector. Even if you were in my position where you did the living social thing to get $50 to spend, Just get two cases, or the highly overpriced $6 screen cleaners, which are really just the free things they give you when you get glasses.
I don't have that problem with Verizon screen protector.
And if you use finger to clean off finger prints.....there's something wrong with you. It's like using a dust-maker to clean the dust?
I do like the smoothness and clarity of the Verizon screen protector. My ghost armor still left some bumps and lines in the protector. The protector not fitting the whole way isn't too bad because I'm using the amzer case but it would be nice it it was a little bigger. I don't like the fact that it scratches so easy. The ghost armor resisted scratches, but this one just takes it. I had it in my pocket all day and managed to find scratches on it. I guess that's why they give you 3. If it was a decent protector you would think 1 is all you need.

The Verizon screen protectors are a bargain compared to some other options out there, and they're just as good. I've used $13 (for one) BoxWave ClearTouch Crystal screen protectors on my Eris, Incredible, and Fascinate with very very good results. I purchased the Verizon clear screen protectors since BoxWave didn't have theirs ready when the phone was released, and I was able to see how good the Verizon protector was beforehand on my friend's Galaxy Nexus.
Most of the items you listed as flaws will be present with other screen protectors. Sure, the Verizon protector could have extended widthwise more, but covering the curved bottom with this style of dry/static application screen protector will result in the entire bottom edge being lifted off the screen. I haven't seen any screen protector that doesn't attract sunlight compared to no screen protector. Even anti-glare versions tend to attract light, though with a more diffuse reflection. The cutouts for the ear speaker, camera, and sensor are fine and hardly too large. I've never experienced the problem where fingerprints cause bumps.
the Verizon ones beat the other 3 brands I have tried by far. Maybe you should take a shower so you're not so greasy.

Well put when I first got them I made the mistake of getting the anti glare and that was horrible then I bought an xo case fit one that I did not like the fit of so I went back and got the clear one from verizon and I am now satisfied

What's wrong with you guys.. Verizon screen protector is not a bargain. Besides, you can get very good screen protectors from Ebay for negligible amount of money. Lmfao

I agree. A good screen protector will cover the entire glass, not just the viewable screen portion. The price is like $15 or something?
Typically you can order a better one for less. I have an XO brand I paid less for and it's a edge-to-edge wet apply.
I bought the 3 pack, pulled one out and placed it over the screen (before trying to apply it) saw what it covered, and put it back in the little bag. I have 3, never used, waste of money.
I think they're just okay. Great clarity but does attract fingerprints and the prints are hard to wipe off using my T-shirt.
Once I'm done with the pack, I plan on getting the SGP ultra clear oleophobic.

Bought a 3 pack with the Verizon accessory sale for like $7 or $8, they're perfectly fine for me and thought it was easy to apply. The part of the screen not covered is covered up my by gel skin. When I clean mine, I grab a Zeiss lens cleaning wipe, and it works fine for me. I'm pretty picky on screen protectors and typically hate them, but I actually prefer the feel of the VZW protector over the bare glass.
/no issue
/personal preference
Bought verizon 3-pack for about $8 after corporate discount, and nothing's wrong with them. I actually had a bad 1st Gnexus device that I had to return, while they were swapping I asked for a piece of tape to lift and reapply the used protector on the new device, and the verizon rep was astounded at how easily I applied it without a single bubble or dust particle.
Btw, they cover as much as the screen as possible, if it went edge to edge it would be lifted because of the curvature in the glass. I use my nexus to talk about an hour a day, and I do have a pretty greasy face, and my screen is nicely protected from my nasty face.
Count me among those liking the VZW clear screen protectors. As good or better than any others I've used. Cleans fine with a microfiber cloth. No issues.
After using sgp and power support shields, I can confidently say the Verizon protectors are garbage. Save yourself some money and just buy an sgp shield for your phone. Same price and significantly better.

+1 for the vzw clear screen protectors. not perfect, but much better than the wet application skinomi.

My one experience with the SGP Oleophobic was that it scratched very easily. The screen protector scratched while I was trying to rub out bubbles after application. The Verizon clear and BoxWave Crystal protectors never scratched from doing this.
Just installed a VZW protector on my phone.
Crystal clear, no orange peel that I can see. A little less slick than I would like but once it gets "greased up" from normal use Im sure it will be fine.
Only complaint is it doesnt cover the bottom portion of the phone perfectly....sides and top are good in conjunction with my Diztronics rev 3 case, but the bottom of the protector is about 3mm short. Good enough for now, while I decide which better proector I want to buy.
Do people not use invisi shield anymore. Those are nice and pretty cheap.

I will say these are "ok" at best...they look good on the phone but if you put your phone in your pocket they scratch really easily. Mine looked horrible after a week of use.
As some of you may know that Spigen has developed the new version "Ultra Crystal"
Customer service emailed me the answers to questions that I had regarding this protector as shown below in this post. In research I found that the hardness is higher then the "nano clear" and the "ultra curved" therefore being more scratch resistance. The other specification is the size is slightly shorter then the "nano clear". There response didn't describe the actual size but I was able to find it on EBAY New Ultra Crystal
The cons of the other protectors such as in the "ultra curved" where it scratches easily per reviews in comparison and it could lift up depending on the case being used and the "ultra nano" where again it scratches easily per reviews in comparison but is cut short and not a full protector. The cut or gap distance from the bezel to the side edge of the "ultra nano" somewhere in the middle of the frame border whether it is the pebble blue or white S3 whereas the "ultra crystal" lies exactly on the edge of the display. The edge of the "ultra crystal" lining up with the edge of the display "maybe" less noticeable but being a thicker maybe not. Hopefully I shed some light on the pros and cons along with speculation and opinion on these protectors and having said that would you choose the "ultra crystal" over the other Spigen brands described above.
Thank you for contacting SPIGEN.com Customer Service Department.
Hi, my name is from SPIGEN.com.
The improvements we have made to our Ultra Crystal is that it will better
adhere to the curved screen with a stronger silicone bond.
It is cut slightly smaller than the Nano Clear to accommodate the extra
thickness of the screen protector.
In order for the bond to stick securely, we needed to design the size
smaller to ensure that it will not lift at the edges.
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us
again.
Thank you.

Yeah, so the new&improved ultra crystal is just cut smaller so it won't lift. thanks.
Pros: It's thicker and more scratch resistant than the Nano or Curved Crystal
Cons: It's not full coverage (which is also a Pro, if you have tight case that lifts up fullcoverage protectors)
edit: and I think you linked to the OLD ultra crystal on Amazon, because Amazon still shows that I "bought this item on June 12th" (and returned it). should have a new SKU.
Thanks zmore, The link is now corrected. Ebay actually shows the new dimensions of the ultra crystal.
Yeah I ordered from their amazon page last week and the listing even stated that it was the new and improved version yet I was still sent the old defective version that they originally discontinued. Sending it back today for a refund.
i really wanna buy his on amazon because i have a gift card i could use but dont want to take my chances with it being the old version
I ordered a new one from SGP directly on Wednesday and should get it Monday/Tuesday.

I ordered the new one on amazon and sent them an email noting that i specifically want the new one. but just incase they sent an old version, how can i tell the difference between the two?
Got mine today...
Installation was tricky. The width of the protector is the width of the screen. You have to get the alignment dead-on.
Once it's on, it looks good. However, this is not for everybody.
The protector is thicker. You can feel the edge because it only covers the width of the LCD. If you go without a case that has a lip around the edge, the protector edge may bother you.
Got mine yesterday too, it is just the width of the screen and you have to be precise, but the feel is more like the original screen now. And like mentioned above it does have a lip but I have the Incipio case on it and don't notice it.

Can you post a few pics close-up of the ultra crystal on the S3?
I bought it and it is being shipped to me, can't wait.
This was the second install, wasn't happy with the first try, still a little off for my taste but its working for now.
I have the same case, the down to the color.
I don't mind the protector most of the time, but I do notice it whenever I need to run my finger around the edge of the screen. There is a gap between the edge of the protector and the edge of the Incipio silicone.
Is this protector the final solution? For now.
I wonder if I should sell the second protector?

It's identical to the ultra crystal for s2, in which case doesn't scratch easily. I only had micro scratches which are only visible under strong light on my year old ultra crystal.
Been searching on Amazon to see if Ultra cases for Note 2 available yet, and actually came across their JLG Screen Protector for S4 HERE. Just amazing, phone is not out yet but so many accessories already released. I guess a lesson learned from S3 and N2 to get an early start
Although I'm nuts when it comes to N2 accessories (from my signature link lol!!!), if I come across S4 goodies - will post it in this section as well. Perhaps might even get a dummy S4 and start reviewing new stuff since I have been already asked by a lot of companies to review their S4 accessories.
.
I would pay $10 more for Spigen's Glas.t which is real glass. Looks like it provides more coverage because it can go over the front camera and the bottom cut out is better.
Will S4 glass be as curved as N2? That was a big problem with tempered glass protectors where most of them didn't stick to N2 edges due to glass being curved. The one which works is Seidio VITREO but at an expense of only covering lcd visible portion of the screen, not the rest of the glass.
The glass on the S4 is completely flat. There is no longer a curve to the edge of the glass.

I just put on Steinheil Ultra Crystal in place of the 19.99 3-set from the US Cellular store (a woman at the store told me those were clear, they were in fact anti-glare.)
The difference is like night and day.
Highly recommend. You get two of those for 14 dollars. SKU is SGP10174.

it looks like it went upto 11.99 :crying:
Tempered Armor just launched their Galaxy S3 tempered glass screen protector December 2nd. Saw a review video for their Note 3 protector and absolutely loved it (Link if curious: http://youtu.be/Qzhst5jrBtI). I picked it up the same day it released.
It came in two days ago and of course I install it immediately. At first, I thought great, the adhesive is doing it's thing. Then, once I took the blue plastic cover off, the disappointment set it. At a nearly uniform distance completely around the protector, the adhesive doesn't stick. I had used their packaged microfiber and their packaged isopropyl wipes for the install. Thought cool, maybe it will take a few days. And fast forward to today, it still looks the same.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I love how it feels; I've always hated those crappy plastic protectors.
I reached out to Tempered Armor via Twitter and got no help other than them claiming it was user error and/ or the alignment is off. I sent them a Dropbox link with pictures of the alignment and they came back with the protector won't work if it is "off a hair".
Here's our Twitter conversation: https://twitter.com/temperedarmor/status/413801200866574336
Here's the Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i6wur2j57ql99c7/qyw6TAEb_y
So if you are thinking about ordering one, make sure you have a micron microscope to get it aligned correctly.
Meh,
I have had similar problems with SProtectors. I do believe that the glass on most S3's have a slight curve at the outer edge.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Whenever I press down on the outside edge, it feels like the glass protector doesn't even try to stick. I feel like the adhesive wasn't properly applied to the protector before shipping.
What really got me was when customer support mentioned if it was "off a hair" it wouldn't sit right. How are you going to sell a screen protector that has a fault tolerance in alignment of a width of a hair?
Typical lack of customer service or care. This why I try to support companies like, Anker, zero lemon, Amazon. They actually care about quality and their customers. As info,
We have 3 galaxy S3 in my home and all have a slight curve downward at the edges.

I love tempered glass screen protectors. But why spend that much money on that one. I got mine off Ebay and they look way better than the one posted in the OP. The one I have sticks all the way around.
here's an example of one... (not sure which seller I bought from. it's been a several weeks since I ordered.)

I knew of the owner of the company from my days as an iPhone modder. Thought he would be a bit more "in touch" with the community and more helpful than "nope, you broke it. lalalalala can't hear you".

Do you have slimmer one or is that one ok ?

The one I have is .3, so just a bit thinner. on all of the cases I have used, it doesn't interfere with the case. I have used it with the Otterbox Commuter case and it looks fine. Right now, I'm using it with a rubber/plastic case that I found at Walgreen's of all places. There is usually a small gap between the edge of the screen protector and the case. I'll see if I can get a picture up
EDIT
Here's mine with a case and the glass screen on it (sorry pic quality is bad, taken with an Ipad, of course)

Whenever i put a screen protector on my s3 the touch screen glitches, key presses al over the screen like whenever i press the app drawer it opens my notification bar, whenever i type something it scrolls up,so does that have anything to do with the quality of the screen protector?
Hey guys, I'm having trouble finding any brand left that sell tempered glass for this phone.
The only one I found is XGear, base on the image I am certain that the designed is by having the adhesive stickers on the bezel/edges only, while the viewable area isn't adhesive. I have used tempered glass of similar design before and it is terrible. Since the adhesive stickers are thin on the edges, its not very durable and can leave gaps or pop out (especially since this is a curved screen), and let water in. It will also cause "rainbow effects" due to the gap between the two glasses. There are Amazon reviews that reflected my concern.
I'm looking for something like this which have the entire surface being clear and able to stick.
Doesn't seem like there are any available, but I wouldn't mind using tempered glass for another phone model that could fit on the Nexus screen, I think that's the best way to go. But I won't receive my Nexus in a few days, then I can see if the screen protector of the Moto X fit inside the Galaxy Nexus screen.
Bought a Nillkin Tempered GLass for my Note 3. Guess what.....after a month, the screen cracked by itself! I'm very sure it was not caused by wrong handling nor impact. All this 9H hype by Nillkin is just bull! Choose another brand!
Well I just decided to order a second i-Blason for the Moto X and put it on the Nexus. Kind of awkward, but it work. Couldn't fully stick because of the curved glass though, but the adhesive is durable enough so I'm not worried.

funny how purchases get based on "user" reviews. i read all 12, and the bad reviews remind of typical users that don't read directions, don't follow directions and then think if they pitch a fit with the manf and bad mouth the product they'll be redeemed of their stupidity.
dust under the screen or lifts at the curve?
1. poor cleaning prior to affixing
2. repeated removing and reapplying and failing 1.
it cracks? really? it's glass, treat it as such and pay attention to 1 & 2 above.
install tip: align and start from one end. it's not a bumper sticker, do not apply it as such.
dots and rainbow? if turned off and angled just right you can see it. turn it on and they're gone. the rainbow kind of reminded of how some windshields look while wearing polarized sunglasses.
i mostly lurk these forums but couldn't let this go. i've had my xgear tempered glass protector on for 2yrs without issue. i will buy more from them if available and my device doesn't have gorilla glass.
well worth the $30+ i spent at the time, has saved my phone too many times to count.
I'm also looking for a tempered glass that is different from Xgear...
I just installed an xGear Fantom (and just replaced my broken screen), I don't see any rainbow effect. I did notice that the protector at the sides sat flat against the screen, but were it curved it bowed out in the center. Looked clear, but definitely was not flush against the glass. I put a thick sock on the screen and some weight over top of it (a thick heavy hard cover book and a medium sized socket set), and that eliminated the bow and put a massive rainbow bubble into the middle of the screen. I lifted the top right corner of the protector slightly and the bubble moved straight out on it's on. It now sits 100% flat. I don't notice any loss of touch sensibility. As far as I can tell, this is going to work well, and last a loooong time.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Free mobile app
xGear Fantom is expensive to me and it has bad critics. I'm trying to find another alternative although it is to another model of mobile with the similar screen's sizes 135.5 x 67.94 mm and the holes fit well. The Moto X's screen seem too small.
I think only xGear makes a tempered glass protector for the G'nex. Might be able to use one for another model, but I don't think it would work any better and you would have a higher chance of running into poor fitment.
But I do understand what your saying - some G'nex have a sensitivity bug that the xGear exaggerates (I'm lucky I don't), while some people have had problems with the glue giving out as well as sensitivity issues not related to the bug.
I'd think you could run into those issues with any brand of glass screen protectors, and further might run into other issues with fitment if the protector is for a different phone.
I can't say if I'll have adhesion issues (and so far nope - but only been barely a week or so since installing it), though I think I would have both if I had not noticed and taken care to eliminate the slight bulge out where the glass curved.
Mine did lay flat at the sides along the protectors boarder, and while it was clear for viewing the screen (as in it didn't look like I had air trapped under the protector), it was clearly bulged out (due to an air pocket) a few mm in the center of the screen where it naturally curves when viewed from the side - I was able to correct that with the weight and slight lifting of a corner.
Sadly, you may want to run your naked (no protector) or with a PET film protector.

BTW - I only paid something like $11 (Canadian) for my Fantom, and that includes shipping. I don't think it was a huge expense at all.
