Hey was wondering if anyone could help
im looking for an app that lets me take long exposure photos on my DHD
Iphone has this app http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/magic-shutter/id408256708?mt=8
There are older threads which havnt been updated in a while so i was wondering if its either possible to recreate magic shutter for android or port it over?
regards
Hi,
have you tried "Camera Streak"? It doesn't do long exposure but multiple exposures on a single image. Its free, just search the market and give it a try.

Umm, he meant the long exposure as in controling the shutter speed, not timelapse. I don't think that DHD camera shutter speed can be adjusted manually. But still, I hope you'll find the app for soft or hard tweak the camera.
thanks guys il give camera streak a shot but judging from what im reading it may not work too well but its a start

You could try by getting a damp cloth and give it a bit of a wipe at the camera lense.
Photoshop?

No like if there's movement it will come out too blurry to even make out, do I need to change settings?

It sounds like the shutter speed is really slow when you take your photos. Chances are, this is a lighting problem. If you're taking pictures in any environment other than bright, the shutter speed might be too slow which will cause that blur to happen. You can try to use the LED flash if the subject is close enough. You can also change the exposure to +1 or +2 which will increase the shutter speed, negating the blur. The downside to increasing the exposure is that you increase the sensitivity of the image sensor to light which introduces noise into your photo.
camera 360 is free, i think the only difference on the paid version is the colorful effect w/c is useless anyway..
Does anyone have a laggy camera? If I use auto focus itsvery slow.

By laggy do you mean the pause betwee when you press the button and when the picture is actually taken? That is because auto focus is trying to get the best shot. If it is not foccused when you hit the buttin it will pause until it gains focus and then take the shot. I find it annoying, but if i dont use it pictures tend to come out blured.

That's exactly it. I have a 4 year old and a 8 week old so quick pics are important.
Glad to know its just auto focus trying its best and not something else I was overlooking.

I wish our camera had the multi-shot option like my digital camera has. You hit the button once and it will take 5, 10, or 15 shots one after another or if you hold the button it will go indefinitley. But this is a phone after all, and it does still have the best camera of any phone i've ever had.
Agreed. Outside of the auto focus lag its a great camera.
What's auto enhance?

I run CM7 and the camera is just the basic Android camera with a few enhancements. It focuses and takes pictures much faster than the HTC Sense camera. But thats if you like AOSP ROM's. So the lag is really just the HTC camera interface.

Auto focus when you press down, and takes it when you let off. Also has touch to focus. I usually focus to get ready, and when I see a good shot, take my finger off and it gets it right then and there. No delay.
I noticed that my camera auto focus hasn't been working for a while.
But when I use scan app, it seems to be working.
I'm running ParanoidAndroid 2.23 for T989 but I have been flashing around and have this same problem with every roms.
Please help.
Thank you

Hmmm have you tried using a stock rom?
Auto focus doesn't work for me either. it SEEMS to be working on video mode, but definitely doesn't work on photo mode. I believe it has never been working for me, and I always thought why doesn't samsung phone camera autofocus well like my low end HTC phone (HTC One V). I'm on AOKP nightly, which is actually pretty stable right now.
On HTC phone, even when just previewing the pictures to be taken, it autofocuses when the camera gets closer to an object, but this one doesn't do anything. When I press the shutter button, it takes and sometimes focuses correctly, sometimes blurry (especially when too close to the object, which is not a problem with HTC phone). I can long press the shutter key and i will be able to see if it focuses or not before releasing the key, but why doesn't this adjust right away when preview is shown without touching the shutter key?
Hey guys & girls..
I've got a question for you ^^
Is there an app/mod/ROM where I have (better) control over the auto focus while recording?
Sometimes the camera focuses even though the "picture" is sharp, which is annoying sometimes..
So I thought maybe there's something that gives me better control over the focus..
And don't forget, I'm talking about making videos, not pictures..
There are a few apps, which give more controls, but they seem to be picture related..
Maybe someone can recommend an app or something :/
Thanks in advance

Though that will help, night mode increases iso and shutter speed and HDR takes two pictures one underexposed and one overexposed then merges them together.
What you really need for a picture of stars is a much much longer exposure time something you won't really get on a phone.

I didn't say that just because of that BUT because of a glitch in the sense 4+ camera app.
You switch to night mode and then immediately to HDR and it will get stuck between these two modes resulting in 200-300% longer exposure, so you are able to capture stars...
This works on every JB HOX, i have tried it out

The app Camera FV-5 from the Play Store lets you set custom exposure time. And you can get tripod heads for mobile phones.
