To make it work you have to change drag to cut to click to cut as the touch screen will not cut it on drag.
Works great... html5 on windows phone rocks!
Thx for the info for some reason it seems to lag like hell on my Omnia tho...
Locked up at the loading screen at 71% on my phone.
However, on my desktop I PLAYED AND CAN'T STOP, MAN this game is addicting.
On my HTC titan it seemed locked up. I just refreshed it and it came up. has worked ever since although it pauses while loading at around 73 then moves to the game. I think it may time out if your load time takes to long (maybe cellphone internet related). Very fun game.
If you guys like the game so much, you should take a look at the XBL game Spider Jack. It's basically the same like cut the rope.

Hmmm, indeed it did load. However I cant actually play it. It doesn't register swipes. It just registers taps, and leaves a gray circle wherever I tap. But can't swipe.

For what kind of things you are using swipes in pocket IE? Just for scrolling pages?
Actually it's one of disadvantages of pocket IE. Interactive HTML5 become more and more popular; would be great to have a special "play" mode in IE: kinda fixed zoom, and all screen gestures translated directly to html5.
The question would be; why in the hell won't MS just make the damn app for Windows Phone? I'm starting to think MS has mental issues.

Same here. I even wrote the company who makes Cut the rope (hit them up on facebook). They said they had no plans to make a WP7 version....
I guess if more people ask, maybe....but, did you know there is like 3 or 4 versions of this game ? (kind of like the stupid birds game for iOS)

Wow, is Windows Phone seen as that lame that no one wants to develop apps for it?
with a tiny marketshare like we currently have: yes. Companies are not interested to take the risk and effort to port a game to our platform. I don't really blame them.
Set it to click to cut but it doesn't work. I can't cut the rope by clicking on it. I can however click on the frog or what ever it is and it comes up to me LOL.

The IE9 version does work with the click to cut but, it's only the first 2 levels of the game. The full game is much larger (my wife has it on her iPhony)
I hit the company up again, please make a WP7 verson on facebook, everyone should, maybe we'll get it at some point.

That 'home' menu looks pretty cool, the rest of the phone, eh. What's up with those side buttons?
However, their actual 'phone' functionality niceities are interesting - e.g. call handling while in another app, or during a meeting, etc. I'd actually pay for that as an app for our phones!
Also, their multitasking handling was cool.

Hi ilordvader,
You should go on the official site for more info: http://www.firstelse.com/
Also, it has nothing to do with Windows Phone 7 series (This UI is based on Limo).
To my mind, this thread should be moved in General forums.
Cheers.
This is actually much better than stupid iPhone-like WP7. And it even multitasks.

Of course. I was trying to be sarcastic, because WP7 (just like iPhone) will not have true multitasking.
BTW,
The company which is responsible for this phone is an Israeli company called Else (foremly Emblaze). Another israeli designed cellphone is the Modu (or Modo, i'm not sure) which is intended for developing markets.

I hate tiny buttons
I love WP7 for it's big buttons.
I have said time and again, when you are mobile, you are HANDICAPPED. You cannot be looking for tiny buttons while you are walking down the street and typing an email or browsing.
So you need a phone with a large(er) size i.e HD2, and big buttons.
HD2's biggest flaw is it's array of tiny buttons on the bottom.

they should worry about the 10%, because they are not a very well known company and they could use all the customers they can get, i saw the ui about 1 month ago, and after that i read about it again yesterday in this thread. they would be better off selling the ui idea to a bigger OEM or MS or Apple or Google, because only then this ui will become popular.

Hi folks,
Anyone else been playing Gameloft's Assassin's Creed? I'm stuck in the game and I wonder if I could get some help? How the heck can I make the jump in the attached screen shot? I can't get passed this, I just plummet to my death all the time Is there another path? Is there a move I'm not aware of?
Cheers
Eehm... I played that game on ipod touch before I got my desire.. Was stuck in the very same place.. Just jump the way the arrow tells you, it is somewhat hard to time, but it is as far as I am aware, the only way.
Thanks, but I must have done that jump 20 times now and I just get smashed Seems like a glitch in the game design to me. I'll keep trying, though. Should I run and then jump? Or just walk to the edge and jump?
It's because the game doesn't have multitouch like the iPhone version. So you cant hold run and press jump.
Uninstall it.

It's not a free game, so I'd rather not uninstall it. And there is indeed multi-touch support, since I can run and do various sorts of jumps at the same time. I wonder if the team behind the Android version of the game actually have tried to do that damn jump themselves...
Nokia 'Sea Ray' WP7 handset revealed on a factory floor? (Video)
http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/19/nokia-sea-ray-wp7-handset-revealed-on-a-factory-floor-video/
Stephen Elop himself spilled the beans about Nokia's first WP7 handset, codenamed Sea Ray, when he told a large live audience and some whirring video cameras that he wanted the phone to be kept "super confidential." Now we have a whole new puddle of legumes lying on what sounds like a Chinese factory floor, courtesy of the authentic-looking video above. The clip reveals the N9-like device removed from what appears to be a stealth case, followed by a speedy boot-up into the Windows Phone OS. We're also treated to a quick look at the camera in action -- triggered by a dedicated shutter button that's missing on the N9 -- before a hurried "goodbye." There's not much else to see here, but could that reddish theme be a hint that this particular example is destined for Vodafone? Only time will tell.

WP7 is quicker on this set up than the most powerful android devices, so there's no need to shove juice hungry processors in there if not needed, its all about efficiency.
Count me in for a sea ray when its released, a lovely looking device and im looking forward to nokias great camera optics and mapping
That's a super nice phone. When Mango is finished, that will be the superman of WP7 phones.
Looks ok, I'm not blown away but, we all know it comes down to the numbers.
I know there is a lot of Nokia fans but, for the first Windows Phone 7 models from them I expect them to be innovative and different from the HTC and others. I don't see any sign of a front camera or anything else different.
I guess I'll wait for the numbers but, so far, not inpressed.
bye bye HD7.... welcome sea ray.... i will ask my friend to buy and ship it over when its launched in Europe...

I doubt it, because the switch camera button in the camera app is missing... but i guess we have to wait for the release to be sure.
I like the way screen is protuding outside a few milimeters when you look at it from side.. once we fit it with a hard case covering only back.. it should fit in good and make the phone smooth and look good when holding in hands..
In this vedio it looks mediocre though because of all the plastic cover and stuff... I hope it has gorilla glass scratch proof glass and super amoled like S Omnia 7..
One more plus is earphone jack is at the end and not in middle like current phones..
I am praying their is a way to lock the stupid useless bing search button in this phone..
I don't see any evidence of a FFC. I suppose we'll have to wait though. Also, how is the bing button useless? I use it more often than anything else on the phone.

It looks too square for me, like a brick (not a fancy rounded style). Also, buttons location not too good for windshield mount, if you using handset as GPS (at least in my current windshield mount).
Looking good!
I actually even had a dream about this phone last night, in which I took a picture in low light, and it looked amazing.
The Bing button isn't useless. Sorry, had to respond to that... I find myself looking up things multiple times a day, and I use the Bing button often. Just because YOU don't use it, doesn't make it useless... Even now that I'm running Mango... I don't use the market tile, I just hit the search button, type in the app, and bam, I'm there... Though, as far as the locking, I will agree somewhat. They could include an option where it'll only trigger on a long-press when you're inside another app
Remember this is their first device. Nokia could have design it before Microsoft finalize the "skype-ability". And it could be their entry level windows phone, get it into the hands of the Nokia fanboy masses and spit out another in 6 months (or less) with the full featured device. I don't think the US will see this one. If it is mid priced offering to the EU and Asia. I think Nokia and Microsoft could easily start the takeover of the phone market.

I'm expecting a Lumia 900 in the mail and was left speechless when I learnt about this. They're basically telling you won't stay connected if you're in a no-reception area although the wifi signal is there.
Yeah I find it stupid since they should at least give u the option. In poor reception areas, cellular data will eat ur battery in a matter of hours whereas wifi will be friendlier.

1) Depends. What do you need the phone for? For tinkering, business, gaming, etc.?
2) Most Apps have a great User Interface. Also, the experience is coherent across the apps and the system. The number of apps is ok.
I would adivse you to get a data plan with a smartphone. WP7 is intended as always-online phone. If you don't have a data connection you will miss out a lot of cool features.
If you have time I'd suggest for Windows Phone 8 as it is currently not clear weather existing phones will be update.

No way of knowing whether it is "worth getting one" without knowing a heck of a lot more about your needs. To be honest an iphone, an Andriod phone or a Windows phone serves the needs of 90% of the population just fine. It all boils down to subjective preference. Figure out what YOU need to use your phone for and then see what each ecosystem has to offer.

That you would even need to ask this question tells me you need to do a lot more research on the smartphone market in general. Windows Phone has fewer apps and no one I know has ever accused it of having "better" apps compared to Android. You need to figure out what apps you really use and see if Windows Phone has them. If you use 6 apps heavily and Windows Phone has them then it really doesn't matter if Windows Phone doesn't have 10,000 flashlight apps. Here's my setup...
Nokia Drive (Free GPS)
Whatsapp
Skype
Skydrive (cloud storage)
Netflix
ebay
Adobe Acrobat
Unofficial Samsung Remote
Facebook and Twitter support is built in. Of course you get MS Office as well.
There are a few others loaded but I don't use them much. I don't like a cluttered setup so I don't download a bunch of stupid apps that will only be used once or twice.
I will warn you Whatsapp doesn't do the multitasking thing in the best way on Windows Phone. My understanding is it takes longer to open than on the iphone or Andriod. This may be fixed with Windows Phone 8. I personally just hold down the back button to switch into the app as opposed to clicking on the live tile. It's faster.
4.7 Screen... you clearly have 2 option : HTC Titan or Titan II, both are AT&T Branded in US , Titan II are exclusive to AT&T.
HTC is the best choice in my opinion

Exactly , Id say its more like 99% ,most people that have an android phone really dont know how powerful it is ,same with the iphone (which apple generally under powers) but the average joes doesnt care ,windows phone is no different except the interfaces are all different , I would gather you dont have root or a custom rom or even recovery on that android device , you wont need it on the windows device either (windows device do have some customization but not like android) if your happy with what the manufacturer gives you, your happy with what the software gives you and your satisfied with the carrier ,all three platforms are fine might as well throw in Blackberry and bada and symbian as well ,if your not gonna do anything with it than what "they" want you to do!
If you like customizing stick with Android otherwise apple or Microsoft will be fine!
If you are coming from Android like me get the Nokia Lumia 900 as its bigger and has free Nokia Drive navigation like google maps..

I am sorry for posting this here as I didn't see a Q&A section. Now that MS has killed Spotify + Groove Music, what exactly is going on? IN fact, I just want to know if anyone else is, like me, thinking of letting Windows 10 Mobile go? I am frankly tired of them stalling all the good things that are actually freely available on other platforms. I am talking about apps like Flipboard etc.
What's next? Insta? WhatsApp? It has now come to a point where even an expensive flagship is nothing more than a paper-weight.
When you ask that arrogant Nawzil on FB, the smart-ass laughs at you and sinkers at you as if holding some precious information that is going to magically transform your life.
Anyways, I will not make this a hate-thread and want to focus on the way ahead. Is it a kill and abandon mission? Or walk on and see?
Windows 10 Mobile is clearly facing the same fate as Windows RT. No offical statement from MS that it will be abandoned, but no new devices is coming, no new apps and current apps is losing support. And the OS itself has not seen any new features for a long time, still missing night mode and bluetooth has been buggy for years.

So, I hope, someone will release similar phone with good modern camera(s) and same (or more powerful) battery, with similar power savings.

So point it. There is no progress, there is no need for it because no new OS futures or system capabilities. OK, I will pay someone to make 950 bootloader unlocked and change the system font...nothing more. Give a break

Anyways, I will not make this a hate-thread and want to focus on the way ahead. Is it a kill and abandon mission? Or walk on and see?

For me, the choice is sad but easy: I like Windows phones and dislike Android and iOS. I expect to stay until they no longer provide security updates.
I'm not optimistic about the future of Windows on phones yet the options I know of seem worse.
Your responsibilities are to yourself and it's not as if you are only allowed to switch once. What works best for you at this time?

Thank you for your reply my friend. Something very strange happened yesterday. I shifted to my Nexus 6 after 2 weeks of usage of my Lumia 950XL. And the moment I turned it on, something hit me hard. I missed my Lumia. I dragged my feet through the day with my Android device. And what did I do the moment I reached home? I ripped open my Lumia, put my SIM in and fired it on immediately.
This has never happened before. I used to have cravings for using my Lumia in the past. The simplicity, the speed, the security. All of it. I however never swapped my SIM in a day's time ever before. And now I don't feel like going back to my Nexus at all. Though it isn't laggy in anyway with (Stock 7.1.1). I just felt a kind of aversion to it.
What works for me? Lumia hands down. However, what worries me is the fact that slowly and steadily, every app will go quiet. It has already started. Flipboard is gone and so are a bunch of others with it.
Feels like MS is on some kind of suicidal mission with WP.

We have tried VERY HARD to incent app devs. Paid money.. wrote apps 4 them.. but volume of users is too low for most companies to invest.

Of course we'll continue to support the platform.. bug fixes, security updates, etc. But building new features/hw aren't the focus.

Yea I read. All the news blog channels are declaring the OS dead, RIP and what not. However, as long as the basic apps like WhatsApp and Insta work, we are good. Otherwise it would be seriously crippling. Even then, I don't think I would sell my 950XL.
Same here. Will stay with my Lumia 730 until basic apps are alive. Just feels so bad to move to other platforms after using windows mobile
Even planning to upgrade to an used 1520.
(Have a Nexus 5 for backup)
hold , windows phone 10 still works good and bug fixes on the way .

The UWP apps with mobile support should continue to get updates and work on mobile for a while (2+ years or more) unless a developer pulls the app. The legacy apps will eventually expire off...So unless you are gung-ho crazy over certain media apps (because Groove is dying) or want a Google store experience for some reason, there is no need to move to another hand set platform over apps. However folks should do what works best for them...I personally still find Android somewhat unintuitive so even though the huge amount of apps is there I still only use a handful. I am planning on buying a VZW Elite X3 soon and use that while waiting to see if Microsoft is really aiming for an Andromeda device with Windows Core OS.

Well. I will be honest. I've jumped ship. I've got myself a Xiaomi Mi Note 2. I am honestly very happy. This is just not done. They have a history of abandoning products and I should have known it. My bad Microsoft.
So much bluetooth problems with Windows 10 Mobile, since the it was released. I can't understand that Microsoft never have and never will fix it.
I have no problem at all-

With Bluetooth? If I stream music from Spotify or Groove with Bluetooth and try to use the device at the same time, like open the Maps app, the sound will start to stutter or the sound quality will turn bad. Sometimes it also just stops playing, and I have to wait for the music app to reload before it opens.
Sometimes Bluetooth does not auto connect, sometimes it can't connect at all and I have to restart phone.
Reading the MS feedback forums it seems like the Bluetooth problems affect all devices and all versions of W10M.
On witch phone? Mine is 640 xl.
