So lastnight I did an Odin restore back to 4.0.2 since I was getting reboot issues no matter what rom or kernel I was using . Since doing so now auto brightness isnt an issue anymore . Its not dim like it used to be and now acts like auto brightness suppose to . Im wondering if those who are effected by "dim auto brightness" a factory reset or an Odin restore would correct their issues ?

Changing my brightness in the settings doesn't do anything.
It seems like its stuck on auto brightness but its turned off?
I am on the latest jugg rom and kernel
you have to turn off auto, before you can change brightness
I know.
I unchecked it in settings than i start moving the slider for the brightness and nothing happens! I noticed this a few days back.
Are there any adb commands i can run thru shell for screen brightness?
check to see if you have enabled power saving mode

edit: just downloaded some app called screen brightness off the market, doesnt do a thing! i just hope its not a hardware thing.
It used to work just fine im not sure what happened. I read on beastmod thread that melvin included "auto brightness to save battery" but after a complete wipe and fresh install of a different rom wouldnt that go away?
if you're on Juggernaut 2.5 this is normal... update to Juggernaut 2.6
if you are on 2.6 did you wipe everything?
Yes running latest jugg gear. Full wiped & fixed permissions.
Anyone have any suggestions? I've never had this problem before and I've been an android user for 3 years.
This is very strange to me. I wonder if i should go back to stock to see if the issue still persist.
I had the problem for the first time on 2.5 no matter what kernel I used. The problem is gone now on 2.6 with it's stock kernel.

interesting.. i might try and flash the stock kernel to see if it fixes the issue.
Hello iv'e had a similar issue before with a different device
overnight after a sudden crash of the phone itself wifi no longer turned on
it's simply saying that "turning on" but never does
ive tried different roms swell currently on "viperx" and it hapened on "paranoid anrdoid" and tried some variants of CM10 in between aswell
i allways flash the boot.img from the rom zip and using costum kernels just caused a boot loop .
tried to reflash root aswell just to be sure evendough it was working fine before . allso installin gnewest supersu from play store .
no roms even turn wifi on to show any networks not just weak signal .
as i understand the wifi module is mainly controled by the kernel but how can it then stop functioning after a software crash and continue to not work after several kernel reflashes .
would anyone reccomend a "best" kernel for paranoid android scince i really like the tablet mode on most of its apps but with no wifi all roms seam useless
any help appeciated
Tried doing the whole process from start even locking and reunlocking the bootloader .
now latest thing i tried is did a full restore from RUU back to stock and locked bootloader ...
the wifi still wont scan so would this mean it is a HW issue ?/or is there something else to try aswell :crying:
It does not matter auto bright open or closed it isnt change . When i open there is nothing happened. How can i fix it?
N7100 4.1.2 jb stock samsun rom.
I just recently rooted my i747 using the No Trip Counter method using ODIN and the stock ROM with root injected into it already. I had a fair amount of stuff frozen with TiBu but nothing on the "unsafe" list. I made sure screen rotation was on, tried to calibrate via the motion settings (little blue dot didn't move at all), even tried battery pulling, reflashing the ROM, wiping the cache, clearing the cache for System UI and Touchwiz. I don't have a custom recovery flashed. I flashed the unrooted stock ROM and called up AT&T. I've got a new device that auto rotate works now but a bit hesitant to re-root. Has anyone heard of this feature being disabled due to something done during/after root? I've Googled my butt off but couldn't find any issues related to rooting.
Note: I got jumped over the weekend and my phone was swiped. It was later returned to an AT&T store but who knows what it went through. That's my guess as far as why it didn't work anymore (probably thrown/dropped/who knows what) but I just wanted to see if there was a possible software issue that I may not have been able to find.
Cheers!
