Changing my brightness in the settings doesn't do anything.
It seems like its stuck on auto brightness but its turned off?
I am on the latest jugg rom and kernel
you have to turn off auto, before you can change brightness
I know.
I unchecked it in settings than i start moving the slider for the brightness and nothing happens! I noticed this a few days back.
Are there any adb commands i can run thru shell for screen brightness?

edit: just downloaded some app called screen brightness off the market, doesnt do a thing! i just hope its not a hardware thing.
It used to work just fine im not sure what happened. I read on beastmod thread that melvin included "auto brightness to save battery" but after a complete wipe and fresh install of a different rom wouldnt that go away?
if you're on Juggernaut 2.5 this is normal... update to Juggernaut 2.6
if you are on 2.6 did you wipe everything?
Yes running latest jugg gear. Full wiped & fixed permissions.
Anyone have any suggestions? I've never had this problem before and I've been an android user for 3 years.
This is very strange to me. I wonder if i should go back to stock to see if the issue still persist.
I had the problem for the first time on 2.5 no matter what kernel I used. The problem is gone now on 2.6 with it's stock kernel.

interesting.. i might try and flash the stock kernel to see if it fixes the issue.

I foolishly set my kernel to OC to the max in CM7, with "Set at boot" checked (stupid, stupid, stupid...), and now LPP keeps crashing on boot, so I am unable to get to Performance Settings to reset the clock speed. I was running the Tiamat kernel at the time, but have since flashed stock over it to no avail.
Short of a full wipe, what can I do to get my CPU back to a more sane speed? I haven't done a full TiBackup in a few days, so I'd like to avoid the nuclear option if I can.
Try booting it in safe mode.
Hold the menu button while you turn the device on. (I think that's how you do it.)
It should let you fix SetCPU.

I wasn't using SetCPU; I was using the Performance Settings within CM7. And as it turns out, my problems weren't related to overclocking: I was running at 998MHz once I flashed back to the stock kernel.
Regardless, I ended up being able to get into TiBackup to get an up-to-date backup set, then wiped and reinstalled. Much better now.
I have a problem with MIUI rom. Some days ago, my phone suddenly had FC, now, my phone run really slow and laggy... If I turn off the screen, my phone won't wake up, only four button in the bottom light up.
I wiped everything in CMW (system, data, and cache, also sd-card) but it doesn't work.
The fresh install had the same issues
I have this problem only with MIUI rom
any help
You probably need to provide more info on the issue. What version of MIUI are you running? Have you tried a fresh download of the ROM?

this guy has the same problem with me, maybe he can explain better than me
http://forums.miui.us/showthread.php?3740-Display-won-t-wake-from-sleep
Hey guys, I flashed 1.819 yesterday and everything was going great. The ROM ran smoothly and I was having no issues at all. When I woke up the next morning my display would not turn back on. Every time I tried to turn on the display the soft lights would light up but the display remained unresponsive. The phone still seemed functional as I could hear e-mail and sms notifications coming through.
When I rebooted my phone it was abnormally slow.. mounting the sd card and syncing seemed like it was taking forever and the launcher was very jittery.. if I let my display time out it would not come back on and I'd be forced to pull the battery and try again.
I performed a full wipe through clockwork recovery (everything, including wiping system, data, and cache in 'mounts and usb') and reinstalled 1.819. The fresh install had the same issues.. if I let my display time out I wouldn't be able to turn it back on. I thought I was having some wonky hardware issue but after flashing my previous sense rom and everything is working perfectly.. so I'm pretty much scratching my head here. My phone was kickass for one day and became allergic to MIUI overnight!

Have you tried using a different kernal such as Tiamat or JD's Kernal?
May want to try that. I had good luck with Miui and Tiamat (ran it for a week)

Does this happen immediately after you flash? Or are you installing applications to get back to your preferred setup and then seeing the performance problems?
If it's the latter, I'd run the rom alone and see if it runs normally. Then install your applications individually until you encounter issues.

since we are talking about MIUI issues. I am running the latest version of MIUI with the JDKernal.
The camera has color distortion lines when I take a picture. The picture comes out fine but when taking it the image shows the distortion. It did not do that before so I can only assume its something with the camera in the ROM.
Anyone else see this?

tenchu, your signature says you are not English or American. Are you running the MIUI.us ROM on your incredible 2 in English - and not another language?
.....just a thought.
hey guys, i recently installed dandroid 4.7, a touchwiz based rom
basically my mobile data status on the status bar is permanently showing that I am uploading/downloading something, but I'm not even sure if something is actually even using the data. first of all I tried to let it sit for a few hours like that to see if any apps would end up having huge amount of data use, and found nothing.
I've tried factory wipe, reboot, to no effect. Also tried odin to factory, format internal/external sd cards, then reinstalling rom but didn't solve anything. I would post at the dandroid thread but I apparently can't because I am new to xda, haha.
any help would be appreciated!

yes I have.. I can't really think of anything I haven't tried. I'm surprised that odin to stock didn't work (but when I did odin to stock and stayed on stock for a while, this issue didn't happen. It would happen only after flashing dandroid)
Hello, my name is Josh and I just got done installing the Hyperdrive ROM on my T-Mobile note 3 SM-N900T. I did as the instructions said to do as always and the ROM seems to be not only running well, but way faster and way better looking than my old Wicked ROM. The only issue seems to be that I cannot calibrate the battery. When I try Battery Calibration, no matter what app, it says it cannot locate the "battstats.bin" file. So my readout stays at 100% until the phone dies. What should I do?

Charge your phone all the way up, unplug the phone and dial *#0228# run the calibration and charge the phone again till the stat matches your battery reading.

Hey man thanks alot that worked great! However I am now having second thoughts on the ROM alltogether. It wont let me use PIN for my lockscreen, it just freezes the phone and then it hot reboots. Then there is the matter of the fact half of the features it states it can do arent actually working. The OverClocking for instance resets on every reboot, the wake by guesture features dont work, and there are some other annoying faults as well. I am actually thinking of trying out the PAC Man ROM. Do you have an opinion on this ROM? I would also like to install the ZION Kernel for it but have no idea how to do custom Kernels other than when they are included in a AROMA install package.
What Rom are you currently using?
I dont know much about pac Rom i use Tweaked 3.9 and it works perfectly.
Well I got my Hyperdrive ROM running correctly. It turns out it was because my phone's baseband had not been updated to the N9 update, so I had to unroot, flash back to stock, update, then try again. It all seems to be working so much better. The only issue now is the Viper4 Android sound mod doesnt seem to work. Ive tried the "force v4a", compatibility mode, and now Ive removed the stock music fx app with a system app remover and it still doesnt work.

Thatd be a good question for this thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2745602
Hi everyone,
since I updated to 2.10 software version, I have a recurring bug...
When I activate power saving mode, every time when I turn screen on the GPS icon appears and seems to be trying to locate the phone, although I have GPS deactivated and location settings set to power saving at all times.
I've tried it with many custom ROMs, stock and elementalx kernel, but it's still there. Is this a bug from HTC ? Haven't found anything regarding this on the forum.
thanks!

I have no problems. You problem seems to be because of some app you have installed. Did you try to check after a full wipe without any apps installed or without restoring any backups?
thanks for your answer. Nope, haven't tested after a factory reset but I will try if I can't find any explaination... TBH, I thought as long as GPS is off (when location settings are set to battery saving) no app was allowed to use it. So if one of them does it anyway, I have to find out which one! Is it more likely to be an app with root access ?
