[Q] Earpiece speaker crackling sound - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi guys
When I take calls there is an annoying crackling sound on the Gnex earpiece speaker, It sounds like the speaker itself is rattling or something. This gets better if I lower the volume to about half volume, but then it is too soft to hear well. The external speaker is fine and bluetooth to the car is fine so I presume it is the speaker itself.

anyone is this happening, be it a hardware or software problem?

Happened to me and they replaced it.

It happened to mine. I just live with it,

I think I'm going to buy a Earpiece speaker replacement because I bought my phone on eBay from a seller in China and warranty finished, I will try to replace the Earpiece speaker.

Happened to mine too. Too bad I am now out of warranty.
Just did a search for "earpiece speaker galaxy nexus" and found one for $5.35. I will be ordering one.

Microphone sensitivity in video camera

Is there any way, either through a mod or app, to adjust the sensitivity or pick up of the microphone in video camera mode on the HOX? I was filming some bands last night and the picture quality was great, but the sound was pretty bad. The stereo microphone setting was even worse. Any tips appreciated.
+1
increasing audio quality is important as well as video. I am waiting some devs realize it and working to make our HOX better.
+1!!
Sometimes I just watch my videos on mute because of the lack of bass
Ultra sensitive microphone as I've noticed too
on xda for android and mistyping like a boss
I found an app called Voodoo Sound on the market, which has this setting for microphones:

Unfortunately it doesn't currently support my kernel or the HOX in general. Have emailed the developer to add our device. Looks interesting.

HTC RC E190 (HTC stock in ear) for Galaxy S3

I am looking for a cheep pair of in ears...with acceptable sound quality and also acceptable build quality. The stock Galaxy S3 in-ears were totally okay for me with the exception that the build quality is misrable (broken wire within 2 months). I saw the in-ears from HTC...with flat cable. It seems that the build quality is exceptionally good!
Can anybody say how the soundquality compares to Galaxy S3 stock ear buds? Also I read in a youtube unboxing comment that the ear bud somehow only really functions with HTC mobiles...(something about driver error)...I have no idea about this...but it is hard to imagine that hTC will cripple the earbuds somehow. Can anybody confirm if the HTC stock in-ear works with the S3.

Edit: misread the question. Thought you were looking for a good cheap pair of headphones. Can't delete this so I'll leave the link.
Galaxy S3 stock buds suck.

A good and small 3.5mm jack external speaker?

Hi, I've searched but haven't found anything of what I have in mind...
I was looking for a small, plug-in external speaker that could a bit more of out-put than the built-in speaker on the back. I find it very quite and doesn't perform as nearly as loud as the inbuilt speaker on my old Samsung Galaxy S.
Now, I know about those little balls that look like an hamburger and all that but they are too big. I was looking for something substantially smaller that could be put on a pocket and forgot about it. Say, the size of a lighter or USB pen? I'm not looking for a massive performance, just something a bit louder than the HOX speaker and similar to what I had on the Galaxy.
I found these two things...

...both from China and the first costs US$2 shipped, the second around US$4 shipped... so I'm guessing the quality to be terrible. Not a big loss if I try it though...
Anyway, what is there and what can you recommend?
Cheers!
Edit: This would be nice if it was smaller...

Walkie-talkie background sound. Problem with the sound card?

I have an error that is most likely a hardware issue.
Everytime when sound is involved you can hear some constant background noise with some clicking and clacking sound at the end. (It sounds a lot like when you use a walkie-talkie: for example "blablabla, over and out." *chhhhrrrrr click* )
I tried...
rooting & installing custom roms
changing speaker
My sister's P600 works fine with either headphone, so I guess the problem is my specific device. It dropped a tool on the mainboard once when changing the charging port, could that caused some damage?
My primary question is: Where is the position of the sound card? (so that I can search the area for physical damage)
My secondary question would be: Any other ideas what it could be?

Note 10 + auto speaker on Bug

Hello Folks,
Ever since I bought this Note 10+ , i havn't been able to use it as a phone properly because of an issue which is driving me crazy.
On this phone, the outogoing phone calls would suddenly go on loudspeaker, even when i have not pressed the speaker button and the speker does not show as green also.
The same happens for WhatsApp calls also, both incoming and outgoing. The call would start in earpiece but then suddenly the loudspeaker turns on and everyone else around me can hear the conversation.
This is such a huge privacy concern and bugs like this are not acceptable for a phone this expensive.
Does anyone else experience this and if yes were you able to find a fix ?
Check if you have this setting On: Answer automatically.

There is a setting to automatically turn speaker on when the phone is not near your ear, check it out
