Is there a way I can get Voodoo Control or Voodoo Control Plus to work on my Nexus ... ?
I'm rooted and unlocked so I was hoping to get Voodoo Control Plus to work on my Nexus as it did on my SGS ...
If its possible can somebody point me in the right direction on how to get it running please ... ?
Cheers M.G.
It's NOT gonna happen. That app was written for a wolfson DAC (headphone amp for noobs) where as the galnex uses a Ti DAC. I'm sure supercurio is working on something for the galnex.
good day.

@JosephStPaul hard to answer because there is none, but the closest is definintely #GalaxyNexus, which will get #VoodooSound later.

No ETA but it will be done. It probably won't have the same features as what Voodoo Control App has to offer in other phones, but it will definitely get some Voodoo loving.
How did he make anything up?
It is currently for the wolfson dac and WILL NOT WORK. That is 100% fact.
A little over my head as I'm new to this game and not up with the speech (where as the galnex uses a Ti DAC) ...
Thanks for been understanding zephiK ...
So can I get an app to improve the mic rec levels for the Nexus a the min or do I just have to make do with what I have and wait ... ?

Voodoo Control App is not just a app for sound improvements. It has various other Voodoo tweaks as well, if you read my post based off his twitter feed there will be Voodoo loving incorporated within Voodoo Control App or another app as he's been separating his new tweaks into newer apps (Voodoo Louder).
Good day, since you love to cause problems with me and have a personal problem against me.
@OP: I don't think Volume+ can modify microphone volume but it can modify speaker, in-call volume. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1444224 is the app if you're interested into trying that to increase your speaker volume and in-call volume.
Microphone should be fine.

I am very familiar with Voodoo. This isn't my first dance with Samsung. That said, the app is not currently working with the Galaxy Nexus. I apologize that this hurts your feelings, but it is true. Whether it has other tweaks or not is irrelevant because in this context, he is referring to sound.

Yes it will be rewritten but the OP was asking if there was anyway for him to get it working and at present there is no way of doing so. I don't think the person you quoted at first was being an asshole but simply stating facts..

The tweaks provided by Voodoo MAY be incorporated within the app as its a app with more than ONE tweak. It contains many, if its not included in this app then he will make a separate app featuring these tweaks / control.
This topic is not ONLY about Voodoo Control / Plus... but it's mainly directed towards Voodoo tweaks in general. The OP wanted to know about Voodoo Sound, as you can see from his tweets. There will be sound tweaks and it'll most likely be called Voodoo Sound as its not a Wolfson Audio Chip but there will still be tweaks. I don't understand why you have to be so hostile with me if we are still talking about the same thing but everybody wants to get all specific and technological with everything.
@adrynalyne: It's not disagreeing. I was simply on point until you had to flip my words around. This is about Voodoo "tweaks" in general, the thread title is misleaded directed towards at Voodoo Control. It's obvious the OP is new and I have nothing wrong with that but many people have problems with people coming in asking these questions. He wanted a direction towards his OP post, and I provided more than that to him. So if you have a problem with me, direct it to me. Don't hijack another thread and go on a personal vendetta against me.

The OP modified his post. Before he modified it, he was specifically asking for Voodoo Sound technology.
The app doesn't work because supercurio hasn't started looking at Galaxy Nexus yet but is starting to do since his GN is SIM unlocked. It does answer the OP's question but it's obvious he (and myself included) wants Voodoo tweaks. I simply provided a official post with it.
Goal of this project is to:
- improve sound quality
- fix audio issues present in Samsung kernels
- unleash the powerful hi-fi headphone amplifier included in your phone and audiophile-quality DAC.
Every new feature uses the abilities of Wolfson Microelectronics WM8994 ultra low power audio codec, without affecting battery life.
Note: When Bass Boost EQ is disabled, signal takes the most direct path and is not processed in any way.

I provided the details with Voodoo tweaks in general for the Galaxy Nexus to lead him to the right direction even though it's not yet available but just enough to let him know that it is coming. When? who knows. But all we know is that it's coming.
The question was asked at the very beginning before OP modified his post.

Sir, I can clearly see that the post has been edited. I in no way said the OP wasn't asking about Voodoo tweaks in general. The OP has edited asking if there is a way to get the app to work, and there isn't. It is great that it is being worked on for our phones, and Franco even has what I would call voodoo color in his kernel. However I don't see how anyone in this thread was out of line by saying the app wouldn't work because it was written for a certain audio driver..
This thread has brought me so much lulz.

I don't understand why wording has to be so perfect. As I said before, what difference does it make if the app that controls the audio is in another name or form? It'll still have the same features.
I know that the app won't work because the app controls the tweaks that are made down deep in the kernel. Without kernel tweaks, the app ceases to exist.
All I simply did was provide details on Voodoo Sound for the Galaxy Nexus with the quoted tweets.
Because of "providing details" which I know isn't what the OP asked for but I included it because it was of relevance to what the OP wanted. I'm pretty certain that it isn't right if I'm going to get flamed and harassed (not by you but by that other particular person) who continues to do it to me in a variety of threads. Which I say again is a "recognized developer," so that is a really bad message (in my opinion) to say to others.
You aren't getting flamed or harassed. I was explaining that chopperthedog did not make anything up and you got upset.
'Recognized Developer' is not a title that means 'Must agree with every incorrect statement'.

Stupid question...
Is there any way to increase the base volume level on the Incredible? Listening to podcasts via the speaker phone is sometimes challenging in certain environments. I would like to be able to increase the levels if possible.
Anyone know if this is possible?
I also would like to increase the volume on this , Bluetooth and inbound calls.

Same, but for all audio out.
There was an app called LVH (Louder Volume Hack) in the market that I purchased when I had my Eris that worked PERFECTLY for this on CM5/CM6/Stock Sense. But the app doesn't appear to work on my Incredible. Which sucks Because I LOVED being able to crank the headset/bluetooth volume.. I would love to see something like this working on the inc..
!EDIT! Apparently I just didn't try enough times because I got the app working on the official OTA 2.2! The app appears to work but I do not think the volume is actualy being increased.. gonna try the 4.0 Beta.
Devs Page: http://androidaudiohacks.com/home/
LVH Apparently Doesn't work for DINC!
Hi Guys,
Purchased the LVH from Meltus, thinking that with root, I'd have no problem using it, but while it did run, and say it had successfully pushed the proper values, it didn't seem to increase the volume. I wrote the dev, & he told me it doesn't work with the Droid Incredible :-(
His site: http://androidaudiohacks.com, does have disclaimers and info indicating the app is for earlier phones like the G1, and Saphire, and doesn't work on Droid, or branded android phones, but not clear enough for idiots like me! He also said in his reply that Google had locked access to the volume files on later phones, and so increasing the volume requires modifying the kernel.
Incredibles are known for blowing out their own speakers. I recommend avoiding this.my speaker is a little blown just with normal use. I now play audio 2 clicks from max volume.

I've been looking for the same thing. Took a trip a week ago and could not hear a movie with my earphones on the plane ride. I just found a new post last night in the "themes and apps" sub forum titled Audio/Equalizer. It has a this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783737 to a DSP equalizer you can install. You must be rooted. Works well for me with a modest gain in volume and improved sound quality. You can simply put the zip in the root directory of your sd card and use clockwork mod to install the zip. (you may have to toggle signature verification off first). Just make sure to do a Nandroid backup first in case you encounter a problem.
Thanks guys! You both ROCK!

I didn't know about the speaker issue. My interest has been more focused on use with headphones, and in-call, which is a different speaker than the one I believe you are referring to.
I noticed the sound from the Incredible rear speaker was quite a bit higher fidelity than on other HTC phones I've owned, which may account for its being a bit more fragile, but that's just speculation. I'll be a lot more careful with it.

FOR AT&T LEAK BASED ROMS ONLY. NOT FOR CM9 or gingerbread!!!
Hi all,
No more call echo
This fix uses the proper T989 audio parameters so noise suppression actually works like it should (car dock should work too in theory). On top of that is Samsung Diamond Voice Engine which really makes calls sound great.
It fixes the issue at the core, within the audio libraries. The audio paramaters and noise cancelling routines now work as they should.
UPDATED
I think I finally fixed this f$cking issue once and for all. For real this time. Try out the newest update I have attached to this post (Diamonds.zip)
This patch is a breed of libraries from the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Blaze. It took me a very long time to put it together. But with a lot of work and hex digging I found the perfect combination.
I don't even think T-Mobile's ROM is going to sound this good
You might still have to turn down your volume a notch if you have a troublesome case, but I am going to make a bold statement and say that this should fix the problem for a 90% portion of you
Also--by its nature--this newest patch should fix the car dock audio problems. I can't test it to confirm. Please let me know if it does.
Report back with results!
Devs you are free to use. Credit is all I ask I spent lots of time on this and not enough time working on a project due tomorrow >_<
To the kind folks that donated to me in the past few days. thank you and I will thank you personally and address my PMs too. Been on and off the grid because of finals.

I know people keep saying he fixed it, but if he did. I would expect he would have released it. Unless he is doing the community a disservice and trying to squander the fix for him self only for glory or what ever other reasoning.
Also to the OP. What do the display firmware in /etc have to do with the audio echo? and i understand you're trying to fix the compass so is that why the sensors lib is in there?
Based on his new ROM being a beta I think TDJ is testing a fix same as Yaldak.
Hopefully they both work.

The approach used in the Darkside ROM is different. I did a library comparison to verify it.
While the approach should work because it appears to reverse the noise redcution switch (hence why the TDJ says to keep it on), this approach fixes the problem at its core--audio library side. Noise reduction will work exactly as it did in Gingerbread. Some people in that thread are still reporting the call echo issue because the audio paramters are off in all of the Skyrocket-based roms.
A LOT of work and experimenting was done to narrow it down to this one stupid file.

Hey Yaldak,
I'll test this out on RomChicago tonight, which is based on your base.
As far as the compass goes, I didn't even realize there was an issue with it until now. I'll check the parts bin to see what works.
This is why I use your bases, because you da man.

Darkside's ROM has another approach to this issue....so that is probably why.
It is also likely that--since you had the issue with gingerbread--your phone might be defective. My GB audio was crystal clear.
I'm up to 8 phone calls (2 incoming 6 out) in which the recipients reported no issue.
Is it difficult to apply this? Just asking cuz I never applied a patch. Switching roms, navigating thru root explorer, etc no problem.. but I don't want anyone wasting time explaining it if its something you believe is too complicated to do so. I'd just love to have call echo fixed so people stop telling me about something I already know. Never had call echo on GB. (I have tried the search but with how many posts there are with 'how to' and 'patch' in them its quite difficult and easier to ask)

I just picked up the UK galaxy nexus and am in love! I love this phone! Coming from its predecessor, the nexus s, I'm amazed at the jump in overall performance and data speeds. Everything is buttery smooth, especially its GPS locking (something that lacked on the nexus s).
However, being a frequent flasher of new goodies in the development section, it has led me to ask what roms are worth installing. Stock feels impressively stable and quick. Battery life seems promising at this point but further testing would have to be done to be completely sure. Is there anything missing from the new roms today that stock just doesn't hold up to?
Any input is welcomed! Thanks.

You should take a look at aokp m5. Great customizing options, good performance and stable as Stock rom. I use it with Lean Kernel and battery life is also very good.
I also tried Gummy rom which was very good too but has less options than aokp.

What's aokp got that has the edge over others (ie stock)
Is there an app for led control? Free flow has weird permissions that it asks for so I'm hesitant to use that.

You're asking for a app to customize your LED. In order for that to happen, the app must have all those permissions to know when to light your LED in that specific color that you set.

Not naive at all. As long as a app has popularity around the Android community then I'm fine with it. If it's a new app with no ratings or not listed on any websites, I'll look into it some more.
If you're being this paranoid then you should be paranoid about choosing a ROM and kernel because it may contain malicious code in it to steal all your info

It is being absolutely naive. Your reasons for trusting an app is completely base on public perception. Just because the census likes the app doesn't prove its safe.
That's just ridiculous. Please stop hijacking my thread.

Look at the permissions. They go with the app, it all makes sense. You want a app to perform checks on your phone. If that action is there, then it'll light up the LED in that particular color. It's obvious that you want a app to do a lot, in order to accomplish that you'll have to give permissions to that app.
If it's such a problem then don't install it. But if you want to customize your LED you WILL need to give access. And since you're flashing ROMs and all that, you're giving apps ROOT access. Are you going to question a app requesting root now? what about kernels and ROMs?
Someone uploads a radio, and so forth. When you flash ROMs, Kernels, etc it's a risk taker. Same thing with apps. Same thing with computers in general, same thing with life. Life is filled with risks and possible malicious attacks.
What's the fun in it when you're paranoid about every single little thing? Nothing. It's quite obvious that Light Flow LED is a app that ISN'T MALICIOUS as well as Google incorporated security measures to make sure apps being uploaded to the play store aren't malicious.
http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/2012/02/android-and-security.html
Not to mention Android is built on LINUX. There are viruses/malicious stuff on Linux but it's rare. Most malicious stuff come from third-party markets / downloaded APKs from unknown sources. Not from the Play Store, if it is on there then it will surely be removed.
If you're worried about permissions and all that of a particular party taking youre data? .. then that brings up the case of Google taking all your data for research and the whole debate of "privacy and Google."
Shall I continue? and I'm not hijacking your thread. You said,
Is there an app for led control? Free flow has weird permissions that it asks for so I'm hesitant to use that.

It's not a opinion. It's actually a fact. I even included a blog post from Google itself in regards to a sandbox with apps.
No, there is no way you can control your LED without giving it massive amounts of permissions. It's like saying you want a contractor to do several fixes around the house but yet you won't give them permission to be in your house to do the fix.
It's impossible for a app to control your LED and have it function properly because in order for the LED to come up. It needs permission to CHECK the state of your phone to do the LED actions. Otherwise, the LED would just be popping up randomly for no reason or LED wouldn't come up at all.
I don't get how this concept is hard to grasp. Maybe when CM incorporates "disabling permissions from a app" will make you happier. This was in CM7.

Released to market!
Remember all those nifty little tricks in Sense which you sometimes miss on cm7 and cm9? I thought about getting those features into an app which can be used with all ROMS. The main one I'm thinking of is the flip for speaker but there are also other ones like the loud ring in pocket and so on. It was really something that I wanted in an app. The closest one I found was Sanity which switched on the speaker as soon as the user takes the phone off his ear, which can lead to troubles such as in a classroom/meeting.
So far, I have a working version of the Flip For Speaker with an option to disable it of course. I'll will try to port the other features. I would like to get your opinion of small features that improve the usability like this one and I can try including them as well. They can be from other ROMS of other phones like say something from TouchWiz or MotoBlur. Post them here and I'll see what I can do.
Meanwhile, here is an alpha version of the app if you would like to test it out. If you run into errors, let me know. Try getting a logcat if you can. I'm open to suggestions.
Current Features:
Flip to Silence
Flip for Speaker
Pick up to answer (Meaning hold it up to your ear)
Changelog:
Version 1.0
Initial market release!
Get it from: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ajaykumar.sense
Version 0.6
Fixed the mute bug on pick up to answer
Version 0.5.1
Holo theme for ICS onwards
Version 0.5
Options for speaker volume and headset volume
Version 0.4
Pick up to answer
Version 0.3
+Should support other devices (Earlier had some issues with the sensor readings)
^Improved the usage of proximity sensor
Version 0.2
+Added option for flip to silence call
Version 0.1.1a
^Fixed bugs
Version 0.1a
+Flip to silence call
^Improved flip mechanism by including pitch and roll.
Version 0
+Flip for speaker
I would also like a nice name for the app so suggestions are welcome!(Don't want to use the word sense in case of any copyright issues later on when hopefully, I can release the app into the Market).
If anyone is willing to test on other devices, please let me know.

You can report issues and see the existing issues here: https://github.com/ajaykumarkannan/Sense-and-Sanity/issues?state=open
You can also make feature requests there.
Heres a good app to control flip to speaker: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.matthew.rice
Only thing is, its a paid app, but works very well for me.
Nice find!
I think I'll continue developing this app so that it can suit my purposes better and it's fun developing
I'm also thinking of adding flip to silence feature. Anything else you would like to see, let me know.

Had a bug in the earlier version I posted. I thought that only pitch would be enough so the speaker kept turning on at incorrect moments. I've fixed that I'll post an update tonight.
As for the sense clock, sorry. I'm not that good at theming nor do I have enough patience for something like that! Henry would be a better person to ask. You can also check out UCCW clock widget which has sense clock like themes.
For internet passthrough, you can checkout this thing called "Reverse Tethering". I haven't used it personally but it should work.
Fixed the issue with the roll and also added flip for silence working. Updated apk in the OP. I've tested it very briefly cause I'm about to head off to sleep. Let me know if you find some issues.
Updated with a few bug fixes and hopefully should now support other devices because I've changed the API now. Check the changelog.
Added Pick up to Answer. Updated OP.
'senseable speaker control'
or
'non-sense speaker control'
Just a couple of things that popped in my head
Is this still in development? I really liked this idea and would pay a full app to do the "nifity tricks" (my suggested app name )

Hey AceRoom, great work on the sense app hey. Features I know I definitely miss on CM7 and CM9 roms are the jus the three you mentioned earlier on - quiet ring on pickup - flip for speaker and pocket mode. The rest are not so important but if you could get those working on any cm7 or CM9 rom - that would totally rock!
Looking forward to more of your work
Cheers
thanks a lot, i was searching all over for these features.

Actually, no. It picks up fine but the caller can't hear me. So I've just turned it off till you you fix it.
For some reason, it mutes the phone when it does that. So I tried explicity unmuting the phone and it still doesn't work. You can unmute it manually but it kind of defeats the purpose anyhow!
It's actually a hack I found somewhere since Android stopped supporting the call answer API after 2.3 (But had it in 2.2 and earlier).
The next thing I'm planning on adding is a speaker volume and normal volume (Because I find that I have to increase the volume when I flip for speaker usually).
I've tested it on the WFS only on CM9. What ROMs are the rest of you guys using?
First off I'd like to say thanks for this great forum. I've used it many times over the years but just recently registered. I've never really had anything substantial to add (still don't). In the past I've had a Photon and HTC One M7, both from Sprint. I never really had the urge to mess with them at all. I recently bought a Note 4 and I decided to root it. I'm more of a computer person, building and customizing but never got into messing with phones.
With that said I'm in need of some help so I decided to register. Not sure if I have much to add at this point to become a contributing member so if anybody is hesitant to help I completely understand. I've been a noob on many other forums, and have also seen noobs come and go. So if anybody can help, that's great and I thank you ahead of time. If not, that's OK too.
I was completely torn between the new LG, an HTC One M9 and the Note 4........ I even considered the Nexus. The audio quality of the M7 that I had was and still is better than any other non-HTC phone on the market and it was really tough to convince myself to get something different. I wanted a big screen with great hardware. The Note 4 had all that except for the audio. The audio, speakers and headphone quality absolutely suck. I am terribly disappointed. I was going to see if HTC was going to release a version with a bigger display, I saw that it is a toned down version. If HTC made a 5.5-5.7" maxed out version like the smaller M9 I would have gotten it.
Now, I've rooted this phone and I've gone through all the steps of installing V4A and no matter what I do it does not function at all. The problem I see is that my phone upgraded to Lollipop. In order to properly install V4A the SELinux mode needs to be set to permissive. There was an app (I forget the name of it offhand) that could change the mode, unfortunately it is not compatible with Lollipop. Without changing the mode to permissive I cannot properly install V4A.
I've searched through this forum a couple times over and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Is there another way to change this mode? What about recommendations for one of the custom ROM's that has V4A in it? I'm really open to any suggestions. I'm really fed up with this phone telling me what volume level is enough. I use this phone for music all the time and the stock equalizer automatically cuts the volume down to the highest equalizer setting. I can hear the difference, when using Spotify if I skip to the next song the stock equalizer (SoundAlive) takes a split second to kick in and you can hear how it should sound without SoundAlive. For all this Note 4 has, I'm really starting to regret getting this over the M9. It would be a great phone if I can get some volume back as well as some decent sound quality.

You need custom kernel to set mode from enforced to permissive... or google there is away to enable V4A to work with stock kernel that involve romtool.
This phone imo is top notch in all areas but I agree with you on the audio quality, stock music player that is. I use PowerAmp and all of that changes, even through the phones tiny speaker. My suggestion is to revert to stock and simply install the app if you're just looking to improve audio quality. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah that's true. Sorry
I'd suggest using the Emotion r14 kernel. That will get you permissive and a much snappier phone as well as having tweaks specific to sound. It supports Faux 123 sound on top of everything else. You should find a link to the kernel in the original android development area.

Thank you for the recommendation. I'll check it out. If I can get the permissive setting I shouldn't have any issues getting V4A installed. Everything else that comes with that kernel is an added bonus.
OK, that kernel worked great! I was able to install V4A almost flawlessly. No disrespect to any of the equalizer apps out there but V4A is by far the best audio control I've used. I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get this installed. That kernel did make the phone a little "snappier" as you put it. I haven't had a chance to mess with Synapse, I might just leave well enough alone as it's now working he way I want. Thanks again.
im just curious do you still have data after flashing that kernal?
Do I still have data? Not sure what you mean.
Hello to all.
Can someone help me with the tunein radio not working with viper audio?
I changed my phone to permissive, and added the 2 zips somebody uploaded that changed the build prop. But i still cannot get viper and tunein to work together. Maven Pro audio works great as does iheart with viper.
Thank you in advance.

I'm not a subscriber of Tunein, I wish I could help ya. Does V4A work with other audio services?

According to this it's an issue with Tunein. It is a little old so not sure if there is a different issue since then, so take it for what it's worth.
