[Q] Going on a trip..Which rom for battery life?

Im a mad flashaholic ive been that way since the g1 was first rooted. I switch roms a lot here on xda and i was wondering what you all think is the best right now in terms of battery life ? im going to see my gf in San Antonio this weekend and i need something to last me the trip (not bringing my laptop lol). 4G would be nice to have but i can do without it for the weekend.
So what do you guys think? CM7? CM6? A good sense rom? Any kernel and rom recommendations?
Cm 7 or mikfroyo

was wondering if theres a rom that saves batteryh for inspire 4g.. need that
For most people It's AOSP + Tiamat or SZ kernel + undervolting + underclocking.
Try the newest ROM by Deck with the newest Tiamat SBC kernel and viperMOD to UV.
Juice Defender is nice as well, configure it to your liking so it will govern your data/WiFi usages and save battery for you.

Plus you're in the wrong section of the forum to be asking that

ROM Recommendations.

I Would Prefer an AOSP ROM,but last time i did that the PRL was outdated and my coverage was such garbage i had to use wifi.if i flash the latest radio and whatnot,THEN an aosp rom, which one?...im not big on sense,i have alot of apps,so apps2sd enabled is preferred, possibly a custom kernel but idk if the evo can even be safely over/underclocked.and also,i had an amazing experience with godmode in synergy,is there any other rom that comes close to that kinda performance...im being picky hell id cook my oen,but no PC.
Shooter Evo 4G
Cm7 latest version with Tiamat 3.3.7 kernal. Can get 24 hours depending on usage.
World peace with no regard for human life.
Whats a good sense rom thats stable?i mean everything ive seen has somethin messed up like 4g,sms errors...multiple bugs.i need something stable, where u dont need to keep flashing back n forth.froyo gingerbread i dont care my main concerns are a smooth performance with optimal battery life,i possibly wanna put in an SBC kernel....

How about for myself.
I have my EVO flashed over to MetroPCS and currently have Metrodroid2.2 running on the phone. Would I be best to continue running with that ROM, or switching over to CM7.1 along with a patch from the Metrodroid thread for MMS?
What is best for me?
SNS Gingerbread v1.4.1
I like the SNS Gingerbread v1.4.1 because it has a smooth, simple look. Also, I noticed a little boost in battery life.

Oh, sorry.
For stability, try MikG. No issues for me. I quite personally use r3chargeD, it is so awesome and I have AMAZING battery life. I think the update to come for it will make it impossibly awesome
ChopSuey kernel is my personal preference

Give the latest SalvageMod AOSP ROM a try you can use Tiamat's SBC kernel if that's what you prefer. Coming from CM7, I like this one more.
Ive tried r3charged,i had multiple sms errors, now im on stock rooted deodexed,i havent had any issues.by stable i mean a RC that has no bugs.i know that may be asking alot, but i cant afford to not have all my features intact.also,i had issuea with multiple different AOSP roms, poor signal and weaker wifi, even with the latest radio combo pack....so im gunna steer clear of CM7.

2.5 is smooth as butter, I highly recommend it. That plus ChopSuey make for great battery life. I underclock to around 758 MHz and no lag for me

Just got to experiment, man. Try different ROMs and kernels and such, that's the beauty of Android (and especially the Evo Development, we have great devs!)

CM7 + Tiamat kernel + vipermod = Game winner. I can get 3 days on it. Though I have tested leaving my 3G on 24/7, and I have pulled 1 day 6hrs @ 44% battery life, so its a win-win either way.
Can you bring those Links to this post and I'm having horrible signaled in on latest radio ATM and never see more than 2 bars

Bring 2.2 kernels for gingerbread please!

What's with the gingerbread kernels? IMO they suck! I try different Roms & slap a chop suey or freedom on it and i get the same results... Battery drain like hell... I only get 4-7 hours depending how much I use it but with a 2.2 froyo rom I can get 13-16 hours with a 2.2 kernel. What gives? No SBC for gingerbread? I like sense but also like aosp because I can use Tiamat 3.3.7 (excellent by the way). Is there a way to remove CIQ from a 2.2 froyo rom? Otherwise I'll stay with aosp.

Yes I believe there is a app and a script you can use

4-7 hours is about what i got with my evo 4g. my best life was with CyanogenMod and even then it was still like 9 hours at most. also remember to give at least 2 days before jumping to a new rom because it takes a little while for the battery to adjust as well as a full cycle is needed for optimal life. one more thing to mention is its a good idea to wipe battery stats after flashing a new rom to help it get adjusted to the new settings. well i hope this helps you get the best battery life out of your evo and merry christmas!
