Hey guys, I was wondering which ROM would be the best for battery life. Currently I am running Damage Control and have it set on Battery Saver. If there is anything better can you please suggest it to me. Thank You
I use baked snack and got about 73% battery left and my phones been on for 8 hours
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
yea baked snack is also what I use, and compared to the 8 or so different roms I've tried (numerous versions of these roms) it gets the best battery life of all of them.
I've had my best battery life on fresh. Tried dc, baked snack, and a few others I can't remember, ended up going back to fresh. Just try a few out, find what works for your particular usage style.

As the post states I'm coming from a rooted dx. I had pretty sick battery life and I know I'm going to take a hit on the dinc.
I've tried a few roms and haven't done much with kernels. Any suggestions or tips so I can make it through the day.

Aosp roms are supposed to get better battery life and I like the invisiblek kernels I'm sure I typed that name wrong but I'm on my phone.

I've tried just about every Rom out there for the incredible and I've found that the Super-Z Rom with the included Ziggy kernel is hands down the best Rom. The battery life/battery charge rate is absolutely outstanding. Additionally, the Rom itself is the fastest I've tested. With it slightly overclocked you can hit mid 1800 benchmark scores. Needless to say, this is my every day Rom and I don't see myself changing for a while. Probably not until I get a new phone actually.

I Just lou's senseless rom with this #4 kernel. a whole day with heavy use, and 2 with medium use
Warm TwoPointTwo RLS5 with the ziggy kernel that comes with it. Heavy use on the stock battery from 8:30 am until 6:30 pm and I'm at 66%
Thanks for the suggeations. Are you guys using the stock battery. I was using a few today and the battery went from 90 to 45 in just a few hours of playing around. Are there any special settings that i should stop. Ive also read about underclocking?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I'm on the stock battery. It's a stock flash of Warm RLS5, except for the transparent titlebar mod and the Warm3 boot animation. It's truly excellent.
No lie, OMGB 6 and invisiblek 28 are awesome on battery life. Only problem is some apps aren't compatible with Gingerbread yet, so if you use a lot of emulators, then you might want to go with MIUI (better than most imho).

Not to threadjack or anything, but is there a way to get MIUI an apps drawer?
I also enjoy MIUI. It's rather good for battery life.

Heh i figured it is, but I like drawers MIUI does get good battery though, even on stock kernel for me
So I've had my evo a couple months and just realized how bad my battery is compared to people on here. Some people I've seen can go more then 24hrs without charging, id like to know how?
Basically I charge my phone all night wake up at 7 go to school (don't get great service if that matters) I might have the screen on and texting/internet about only 25% of the day. Then by the time I get home at 3 im around 20-30 percent? I'm running miui rom i also have my email refresh to never, have setcpu to the lowest when screen off and screen brightness usually 50%. Also I'm using the stock battery but going to buy the gallios 2000mah or whatever from ebay.
Sorry for writing a book i just need better battery. I've seen threads everywhere about this but I just want to hear everyone's tips. Thanks

yours just like me, my phone is on 8 hours (while inm at school duh ) and i say i use it for about 2 hours while im at school. i use a sense rom (AOSP roms give me horrible signal) and when i leave school im about 90%-96% . i use SBC kernel and give it 3 days to settle in you wont see the battery life instantly. try it out
Thanks. Will an sbc kernal work on miui? I've never used a kernal...do u just installed them like roms? If so what data do I wiped? Sorry for all thames questions.

I reccomend the savaged zen HAVS CFS kernel...I'm on stock battery on CM7 nightlies / with WiMax, and I have had my phone unplugged since 8am, and still have 48% left...I'm able to go about a whole day.
http://mirror.munkibizness.com/
I also have a question on kernels while we are talking about them. Is there a certain way to install them or do i just install the zip through the boot screen? I installed the newest ziggy kernal, dated nov 24th but didnt notice a change in battery life. Any help?

Download the 8th one from the bottom
its named :
Savaged-Zen-V0.0.5-CFS-HAVS-SBC-WiMAX-Froyo-Signed.zip
and yes it works on miui clear cache and dalvik cache and flash the bad boy. you might see bad battery life for hours or day but kernel has to get use to the ROM it will start to work out. and once your phone gets to 100% on battery it is still charging
Is that the same for all kernels? They take time to adjust to the rom? Or just the kernel you are recommending right now?
All kernels take a couple days for the to "set in."
Ya that's the reason I want it I let my phone charge overnight to 100. So with this rom it will keep charging all night? If so ur saying it won't work in the morning if i install it tonight?

You can use SBC on MIUI, I'm using the one posted in this thread already, works great.

1. Boot into recovery
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. Flash your current MIUI rom (I've had the best results flashing kernels this way)
4. Flash the kernel.
5. Boot
6. Drain your battery low and boot into recovery and wipe batt stats.
7. Boot back up and let it die.
8. Charge to full.

What hardware do you have? If you have an 003 or 004 you may have issues with the screen waking up with this kernel. If so, flash the Savage 1.6 CFS SBC http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18860340/Savage-Kernel-v1.6-CFS-HAVS-WiMAX_SBC.zip.
Set your setcpu profile to conservative. You'll get the best battery life that way.
I'd recommend downloading Battery Monitor from the Market and putting the widget on your homescreen. When the mAh drops into the teens, your battery is full.

Im planning to go back to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=935275 CM7-GX4(EX+4G), is that the same one you are using, if so, are you using another kernel then the one suggested? If so which, because I also only get about 10 hours on cm7, I want to use this on my main evo. Miui 1-14 is the one i use for my ipod evo it last 45-50 hours on avg.
Just to jump in real quick, I am using Myn warm 2.2 and the battery life is amazing and I don't even use a different kernel than stock. I'm talking twelve hours easily with heavy use

I have never found juggs to be a battery friendly ROM. It's a power ROM. Better for gaming, shooting live video etc. If you want the 15 to 20 hour battery some are getting then switch over to darksides ROM DIGITALWARFARE. It's powerful enough for gaming just not like juggs.
Also usage plays a roll to. If your gaming for 4 stright hours don't expect the phone to last that long because no phone will. Running Juggs with darksides kernal is kinda doesn't mix.

Download 2x battery from the market, it's done wonders for my phone and i use it with any rom i flash. Not to mention i ran that same setup for quite awhile and the maximum time out of a battery i've gotten comes using juggs 5 and v1 darkside kernel.
I'm running Juggernaut 5.0, with Eugene's Streamline kernel. I'm getting about 17hs. I'm also OCD, so I play, and tweak every setting possible. I game a lot, and usually get about 6-8 with that. It depends on a lot of factors though. I agree though, it's kind of an oxymoron to use Darkside kernel with that rom. They kind of clash.....I guess you could say, as far as battery goes anyways. I had the same issue when I used that kernel. Just my experience anyways. There's a lot of setups you could go with, so. Best to just test everything once, till you find your happy place.

what are you using? are you experiencing poor battery life as well?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
Your battery life also depends on a number of other factors as well. Do you have animations on or off? If they are on, turn them off. What brightness is your screen? I turn mine all the way down. How many widgets are you running? I don't use widgets. Is your phone constantly syncing with Facebook, Twitter etc? I only turn my sync on for Gmail and Google. Is your GPS on? I have mine off at all times. Do you stream a lot of music/videos? How many programs do you have running in the background? I make sure everything is closed or off except for the programs that need to be on. If I need to use a program/app I will open it, I don't need it constantly running shortening my battery life. Etc Etc.
I also recommend using the app Juice Defender. Yes it runs in the background at all times, but, it greatly improves battery life. I use it all the time and it's fantastic.
I typically have my phone on for 15-17hrs a day and by the time I go to bed I still have over 50% battery left. I am currently just on a stock ROM and not Juggs, but my results with Juggs were around the same as well, even with the Darkside Kernel. Peace

+1 I don't use juice defender on my device since I am happy with the battery life I get so far. However, I have Juice Defender on my wife's SGS2 with custom settings and her battery life has improved a lot. Before her phone would only last 10-12 hours with moderate use. Now she gets over 20 hours with the same usage.
Use tdjs ROM

I'm using aokp now but I found this to be the best setup for battery for me.
I recommend you try this and see if you still have this issue.
Juggernaut + synergy + juice defender on aggressive mode = awesome battery life.. awesome enough for you to have multiple MiniBaths. :banghead:

Hey guys i was wondering if the battery on this rom could be tweeked [ROM][ICS 4.0.3] :ARKSIDE.EVOLUTION.3:: [v1][UVLE1][WiFi CALLING][6.12.2012]...ive noticed that the battery tweak on the DArkside Ucle2 Has IMPROVED ALOT!! was wondering if anyone can relay this request to TDJ? Due to my limitation of post i am unable to post anything on his thread...Thx
No it just sucks at battery life. I went from a full battery to 30% in under 6 hours with only 1.5 hours of screen time vs the 16+, 3 hour+ screen on time with the att base. Ucle2 is much better with battery life until some kernel adjustments are made. No battery tweaks though. I suspect the radio or kernel and since you cant do anything about the latter, try flashing different radios. Try the modified LDE radio. Its the one I used to eat sweet ass battery life with ucle2. Report back with your findings. I had a few issues with the new tmo release so I didn't even bother to try it. I had flashed the lc8 radio with the tmo release.

Yeah I heard the Telus is way better on battery life. For right now I'm sticking with UCLE2 beta 7 with the Telus radio. I been getting 17 hours average on heavy use and I'm happy with it for the time being. My suggestion if you are going to use the Tmo release, try Telus radio...calibrate battery and set all apps to manual sync, so they are not running trying to sync airpush info.
Edit: almost forgot, try to keep your screen low as you can get it. Auto is a waste of battery

I get that it just released etc. Its just that for me the initial performance and battery life has been worse than every ics build I've flashed. Even when when the bases were initially released like this one. I have no issue staying on evo 7.1. It runs flawlessly. It'd just be nice to join the other users having a great experience with it instead I get a broken rom with crap battery life. And before anytime says "its too early let it settle in idiot!"
I flashed back to evolution 7.1 ucle2 earlier. From a full charge on its initial drain I'm at 63%, 11 hours, 2.5 hours of screen on time. Certainly beats the 6 hours and 1.5 hours of screen on time for the tmo release on its initial run don't it?

Hey I'm all for what works for you but the overall feedback from other users as well as myself running my second battery purge just isn't consistent. Anyways I'm not going to debate what sucks and what doesn't suck. I'm only asking everyone to chill out with the slander on peoples work. I mean Mr X and TDJ are rolling with things but dammmmmm, the overall @ss woopin they are taking is ridiculous.
Oh no!! I hope I'm speaking for others as myself but I in no way blame the devs. I'm flaming T-Mobile for this release not them lol for god sakes these guys are our saviors from a ****ty phone experience. As someone stated before. It'd just be nice for one of these multi billion dollar companies to release a fully working rom for once. Instead of enhancing experience like the devs want they spend it fixing the crap churned out by these companies. I've owned my share of android phones and can't think of one release that went smoothly for everyone as a whole.
