Are there any kernels available to use on the stock ROM? I would flash another ROM but then I wouldn't have working MMS since I'm flashed to Cricket

Why don't you just do apn backup and restore? You back up your stock apns and then any new ROM you use you would just delete those ones and restore your stock ones. I do that to all my 3.5 roms and that's how I get mms to work

No. I'm going to do that and flash it then report my results.
EDIT: Just did this. Wifi is still broken =/
Honestly don't know. I've used that kernel on a stock rom no problem. I would say maybe a bad download? Otherwise I got nothing.

It seem your phone can not flash new kernel. You must root the stock kernel before flash drell's #21
Flash this one first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133169, do not reboot, then flash #21
Check setting>about to sure you have new kernel.

It is also for people that flashed ZVB from ZV9 with a stock rooted ROM, and did not take the radio update in the processes. You should be able to use this on ZV9 too.

I haven't tested it in CWM. All I have tested it in was TWRP. It may or may not work.

I'm new to rooting on S3. When updates come out can I just flash the new one on top of my old one without doing a factory reset. I am stock. I don't want to have to reinstall and configure all of my settings. Will it work if I just flashed the odex version? Or can I just use that app OTA Root Keeper?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I have found it to be better to wait for someone on XDA to incorporate the new OTA into a new flashable rom.
Then you do not have to worry about trying to save root or your data, because you were just clear the cache partition and dalvik cache and then flash the update.

So just clear the caches and flash the rom? Will all of my apps, text, homepage icons and settings still be the way it was before the new rom was flashed?

Please don't tear me apart if this is the wrong thread...
So I'm currently running CM 10.0 and I'm trying to upgrade (through CWM) to 10.1.2 stable, but I am running into a status 7 error. I have done the following (In no particular order)
-made backup and wiped phone (including cache and dalvik cache)
-flashed the latest bootloader
-double checked MD5 sum and it was a match
-upgraded to most recent CWM
-tried fixing the assertions (as highonandroid suggests)
So what am I doing wrong?

Do a search for status 7
Because you've updated your cwm than your bootloader is out of date.

What do you mean do a search for status 7? I've searched all I can, those were all the solutions I came up with. First I updated CWM, then I fixed the assertions, then I redownloaded it for a clean start and then flashed the latest bootloader, and none of that worked.

Well this is the issue. Status 7 is
Out of date recovery
Out of date bootloader
So you have no other options really...

You can have an old bootloader and have a newer modem.
Modem is your current baseband.
Here's an example. My bootloader is LK4 which is good for flashing and my modem (baseband) is MF1
Go in terminal emulator and type
su
getprop ro.bootloader
It'll tell you your bootloader if it's different than your baseband
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
And now is where I feel like an idiot...
The bootloader does not match my baseband, so since I am clearly incapable of flashing a new bootloader, can you provide me with a link that would help? Preferably one that could work with mobile Odin since access to a computer is limited for me right now

Use same fresh install method listed in any of my rom threads... I'm not sure about restoring messages I never do it but system data is usually a no no if you have issues with titanium download super su update your binary with the recovery method then go into titanium preferences and click the back up folder location option and change it from sdcard0 to legacy it will ask you if you want to move your back ups say yes then restart titanium and world will be right again
