@popcorn1122
I followed the steps given by you but when I rebooted the phone, I could not get service. I waited overnite just to make sure that this is not a temporary network issue. The service has not come back. In the meantime I have rebooted the phone many times. Also, I did a complete wipe of data, cache and dalvik and re-tried all the steps again to no avail. Please help.
TIA

Hi there I am new to the defy. I bought it locked so I unlocked it. Next thing I did was Debrand it by flashing firmware the latest t-mobile flash. I now have moo working Market. Everytime I try to download an app is says download paused. So I though ok let's try a factory reset. Only problem is when I press erase everything it does not work does absoluly nothing.
Forgive me for being stupid I have no idea about flashing rooting.
Thanks
Unchecked Data Saver...from settings ur download from market will work....
Sent from my Toilet using Motorola DEFY...
still does not work at all. i have tried all that already it keeps saying download paused and the market is still on original not updated
thanks
also des anyone know how i would restore my phone as i hit restore under privacy settings and does nothing thanks
Enter stock recovery. Reboot phone, then hold power button plus vol. Down. Then push vol up and down at the same time. Choose wipe data.then power to select. Then reboot
Sorry, for restore, you either have nandroid or titanium . Instead of booting into stock recovery, go to cwm.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
ok how would i do that? i just flashed it. i have no recovory or backup options and when i try to restore it wont let me. is there any way i can flash irt back to original retial settings as i would prefer 2.1 tbh thanks
uncheck the "data saver" option in settings and wait for few seconds..if download doesnt start then open market and the download will start..
i m sure this will work...try this..
hi yes i have already tried this
if i cannot do this i would like to reset to factory settings or downgrade to 2.1 thanks
i had the same problem and that trick worked..well if nothing works then its better to flash ROM again.
or else do one thing..uncheck data saver then open market....then go to downloads..if u have any app updates then do tat..if the download starts, the other paused download will also resume at the same time..OR else try to download anything from the market..
remember do this with data saver unchecked!!
hope it works
i dont know exactly the problem but it could be the baseband problem. or the signal.
i suggest first root ur phone, and after that install this baseband switcher. switch the band to ur country, and try again the market
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052745
try using wifi to download and see if you can do that. if still can't, try to go Application > Market and wipe cache/data. if all else fails, root your phone, and flash the new gapps zip file. you can find it in the CM7 Dev folder
So, i have been quietly been looking over the forums and have noticed that alot of users have "accidentally" deleted/disabled/removed their stock LG Launcher (com.lge.launcher2). This causes you to swipe UP to unlock your screen and be presented with a blank black screen.
While everyone is freaking out/pulling out their hair/swapping phones with their local dealer, i have come up with a way to get back to a launcher and go from there. I am not saying this is a fix for the stock launcher, i am merely showing a way to get back to a launcher PERIOD, the rest is up to someone more qualified than I.
This is assuming you have Rooted your phone (which got you into this mess in the first place)
1. If needed (as in, you can't get emails etc) then Hard Reset (battery pull, hold power and volume down, push power button twice)
2. when it reboots, go through the wizard and setup your email.
3. Using a computer, take the .APK i have posted here (ADW launcher) and email to yourself as an attachment. your phone will sound off when that email arrives.
4. Swipe down, open the email and install the attachment.
5. Reboot and Welcome back to the launcher!!
This worked for me when my ADW Launcher was wiped by a backup (my own fault, i will admit) and i just reinstalled GO Launcher from the market after that.
I ran into this little problem the first time I rooted my phone. I debloated it and then thought of running a factory reset - the problem was I froze the stock LG Home launcher so I had no UI.
I was able to fix it by texting myself a www.google.com URL. I read the text through notifications, clicked the linked and it opened the browser. From the browser I entered the Market's URL and I navigated to NoBloat's page. I went to install it and there it gave me the option to open the app from which I was able to to unfreeze LG Home and then restart my phone
Well there ya go, another way to get around this problem!!
Thanks aimhelix for your alternate workaround! Let's keep this up, i am sure these aren't the only ways to fix this problem!
hard reset

aimhelix, a bit unrelated question... was reading your other post about debloating and you've mentioned doing a hard reset.
So, here it goes:
Is going to Settings -> Privacy -> Factory data reset and resetting data does the same thing as
- Turn off phone, wait a few seconds.
- Press HOME + VOL DN + POWER until you see a warning for Hard Reset
- Press Power 2x to confirm?
Thanks in advance.

It's hard to do that when you don't have a launcher...and by the way, you don't need press HOME button or pull the battery out, VOLUP + POWER is enough
I just threw the battery pull in for the noobs that didn't know when the phone was actually off! lol!!

No, not quite. A hard reset will wipe your internal SD card. I factory reset won't but it will also wipe user account info from the phone.

Well, actually there is an option to wipe the microSD card using Factory Reset method. If you check this option, the card will be wiped.
While looking for an answer on other threads, my take is - these two methods are the same. Just wanted to get an extra opinion, since I'm completely new to android. Actually, this is for my son's Nitro phone
Thanks for your reply though. I followed your directions disabling the bloatware, very helpful

Just go to the site, login with your google account (the one you used on the phone)
Then hit the "install" button of the app (this all on the site, nothing need to be downloaded to your computer)
All this assuming you had added google account on the phone before the problem started.

Hi guys! I'm not sure, if i did the threat the right way but i hope so)) Please help me! I just flashed the new Cyanogenmod10 unofficial firmware by jellaxy.com and I'm confused: I don't have any lockscreen in my phone. When I press the power button it just shows the screen-off animation. When I press the button again, it shows me the home screen without unlocking. HELP!!!
Did you wipe before install?
Also try messing with the settings maybe something turns up ( settings -> interface -> lockscreen )
But I just think you didn't do a wipe and that makes everything messy inside the phone
Thanks

This Paranoid Android 4.5 BETA1 for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 seems to be stable build except it has few bugs related to WiFi.
After upgrading from Paranoid Android 4.45 to 4.5, WiFi stops working and it deleted saved WiFi Access Points. Any changes you make in WiFi Settings seems to be giving error " FAILED TO SAVE NETWORK CHANGES".
This WiFi bug is still exists even if you revert it back to 4.45.
Waiting for another fix update.

No, I'm not using any one of them... The WiFi issues start appearing after I've upgraded to Paranoid Android 4.5 from 4.45. But even if i downgrade to 4.45 the wifi issues remains there.
I think I only have one option to clean format and install it again. But I do not want to loose all of my custom settings.

Did you make a backup before you flashed the update? I did have this problem 3 months ago with an update and a clean flash fixed it and it was stable. I have found that rather than dirty flashing updates I do a full backup in TWRP, full wipe, flash ROM, gapps, addons, and kernel, wipe cache and Dalvik, reboot, let sit 10 mins to settle, reboot recovery, wipe cache and Dalvik, restore just data, wipe cache and Dalvik again and reboot. I've even dine this switching to other Roms but it won't work with all.

Guess what... I think i have solved my issues with just un-checking one of the option in settings. LOL
I realized that I made some changes right after installing the update which I totally forgot about it. So I went back to those settings:fingers-crossed: and checked which one was causing this problem. And WAHLLAA It was definitely one with Cast Screen settings causing the WiFi problems.
HERE ARE MY SOLVED STEPS:
Goto >> Settings
Then >> Display
then >> Cast Screen
then go to the Option of Cast Screen on top right.
SIMPLY uncheck the option [Enable wireless display].
Then REBOOT is required.
You should have working wifi without any changes to the wifi settings.
DON'T FORGET THE """"THANKS BUTTON"""":highfive:

@mkdroid - I edited this thread's title as well due to your direct copy of the Development thread's title - this is not a good practice as it can be very confusing both to those actually looking at the forum and those searching through both XDA & Google/etc.
Please refrain from copying development thread titles for your threads and leave the [ROM] and other tags for the appropriate places. You should use the [Q] tag if you want to use one at all in the Q&A section.
Thanks.

Same issue in Yureka Plus
Screen locks for a few seconds while using and sets wallpaper to default wallpaper .. Cannot believe it is an official ROM. How can a company treat its customers like **** ..Powerful specs ,only to be destroyed by the worst software optimisation :crying:
screen getting off while using mobile
I'm also facing same issues..is there any fix available?
It is the common problem facing by most of the members in cm12.1, the solution is use the system theme rather than any other theme.
My yureka is on CM 12.1 and Android 5.1. Now when using the device it locks automatically and wall paper changes to default automatically. The screen locks freequently. I cant use the device or cant even set a wallpaper for sometime as it changes automatically.
Same problem with me
When I contacted customer care they stated me to do flashing. But still it has not gone away. After that they said that we will replace your device. I don't know whether they will give me a replaced 2nd hand mobile or a new one. Should I go for exxgange or is it a software problem that will fine in future.
Hey I have got a solution for this . Go to your device settings and then Privacy. Then go to privacy guard. There are three dots on upper right corner. CLICK ON THAT AND SELECT SHOW BUILT IN APPS. Now search for Google play services and hold on Google play services. Scroll downside and search for auto start and keep awake. Turn them off. But keep sure that (keep awake ) is enabled.
If it help you please thanks me.
If Finally your Problem is not solve then install Flash File of 12.1 from Below Link and again Flash then use without any issue.:-----
