Hey guys,
I've galaxy nexus a month ago and from the first day I noticed some problems.
Sometimes the phone reboots itself without even touching it, and sometimes I experience dead screen so I have to take the battery out and then restart it.
I've contacted the seller (phones4U company) and I had a replacement so I was hoping for a new phone having no issue. Unfortunately, I'm still experiencing the same issue with the new phone.
Anyway's having the same issues?
I'm on Orange network, UK and the phone is not rooted
>> it's on 4.0.1
Bought mine two weeks ago. Had one random reboot, but with only 5% battery remaining, so I dunno if it could have something to do with that.
Will report back if it happens again and under which conditions.
No dead screen for me yet, just one time I think I had to press the power button three times to wake it...not sure tho, could well be that i was just too dumb to hit that button correctly

I have a brand new TP2 from work - direct from HTC so not locked to network.
Have had it since Tuesday and have had to remove battery to get phone back three times already.
The phone goes into sleep mode like it should and screen goes blank , normally its fine and one press of button on top and screen comes back to life.
However 3 times now I've gone to use the phone pressed the button and nothing . tried holding it down (in case I've powered it off) and again nothing. Only way tp get the phone back is to remove and reinsert battery. Has anyone else had this fault ?
Is it a known issue or should I be returning the phone as faulty ?
I think you should send it back, even if it were a "known issue" that happens to a few units, that kind of problem really shouldn't happen to a phone that is over £400 and is only a few days old.
Never heard of this issue, so I would send it back. I've had my TP2 for about 4 days now and haven't had anything like that.
Has anyone experienced any issues where the power button suddenly stopped working then started working again a couple of hours later? I just wanted to completely rule out any other possibilities before sending it in for warranty service.
It happened to me twice, the first time at work when I was using the phone all morning then I went to pick it up at some point then the button would not register clicks. I pulled the battery and reset it a couple of times but no luck. Eventually I just left it, then maybe 2 or 3 hours later it worked fine again.
The second time I put it in my glove box because I was out playing sports, then I came back and it stopped working. Pulled the battery a couple of times and no luck, then the same thing a few hours later it started working again. Was about 8 degress C outside, if that matters, but it was only in there for about 2 hours.
When it's not working well it will sometimes intermittently register clicks or a click will register as a hold (brings up silent/airplane/power off menu), but for the most part when it goes offline it's completely offline. Then a couple of hours later after just letting it sit there it will work again without shaking it, blasting it with air or anything more than pulling the battery and leaving it. Very weird.
Was wondering if anyone has heard of issues like this or it's just straight up a hardware defect that needs fixing?
I'm running stock Rogers 4.0.1 yakjuux and had the phone for just over a month.
Hey guys, I download a couple of launchers to try out (in case it matters) and then left my phone on the charger. About 20 minutes later I went to check on my HOX and the power button was unresponsive! I held it down for a few seconds and the bottom 3 touch-buttons flashed a couple of times but the screen was still blank. I then unplugged the phone and held down the power button again, the touch buttons once again flashed a couple of times and then all of a sudden HTC One X screen showed up and the phone restarted. I now have the phone plugged and shut down. Any ideas on what just happened to my phone?? I'm really worried as this is my second HOX and my replacement period has passed long ago.

when you press for 10 secs the power button + vol down the phone restarts, it is norma, it's a kind of reset... by the way this is not overheat

The phone was hot during the whole process (sorry, I forgot to mention it). And if it's not overheating what is it? Oh another detail I forgot to mention is that when i unplugged the phone, the red led stayed on until the phone rebooted.

It boots up fine now. It started getting hot while i was trying out the different launchers but I thought it was because I was using it, so I decided to let it charge and to cool off. 20 minutes later the phone was unresponsive and even hotter, I held down the power button and the touch buttons flashed a couple of times, unplugged the phone but the red LED was still on, and finally I held down the power button again and the HOX Screen appeared and the phone restarted. That's about it, the phone is cool now and charging just fine, but I'm worried because I doubt that the phone would overheat just by switching launchers, I'm afraid that it could be something bad.

It probably just got stuck calculating something, sending it into overheat, preventing it from charging until it ran out of charge.
I'd worry about it only if it continues, sounds like a software bug.

Okay, Ill keep that in mind, thank you!
One X can take high temps with no problems.
My CPU was already at 94 degrees celcius and often above 80 degrees celcius and sometimes the phone even smells a little burnt but it keeps on running

Hello, I've been lurking around this forum for awhile and this is my 1st post! I've used the search feature and many other websites for my problems but cannot find anything similar =[.
My phone is 100% factory and the battery energy was around 80% at the time of incident, what happened was I received a text message but didn't check up on my phone till 30minutes later where then I pressed the home button to turn the screen on but the screen didnt power on but the phone's audible volume was working and the other 2 keys next to the home button lit up. I could click around my phone and function everything properly with no visual image to the screen (I even started my music player). I got frustrated so I attempted to soft reset it multiple ways and problem still persisted, I then decided to leave the battery out overnight to see if it would fix things, I did so and the same problem persisted, so I decided to plug it into the original usb wall charger and when I did i left the room, came back 10 minutes later tried turning it on and it doesn't even power up any more. Anyone have any ideas? The phone doesn't even turn on while plugged into the wall charger. (I do remember something about a phone update on my notifications list)
I had dropped the phone 2 months ago and the screen cracked but functioned normally and I'm afraid that I will not be able to claim warranty because they will blame the cracks.
Factory reset the device by booting into recovery.
If the screen will not function in recovery mode, or after boot. ...it's not good.
The digitizer may be toast. ..g

sounds like the drop has caught up to the device. as the post above if it doesnt work in recovery the digitizer is TOAST
why would the digitizer be toast if it logged my screen touches while the screen went dead before not being able to power on? I cannot get into recovery mode mode because the phone will not even turn on =[.
bump... can anyone help?
Sounds like the phone is gone if it won't even show charging or any kind of screen. Is there any flicker or anything?

I don't think they will, you're probably gonna have to eat this one.

Agreed. ..
You could try. ..but they will likely reject warranty and offer a repair. ..
Or offer a refurbished device at a reduced price. ..imho...g
If u bought warranty you can eat the cost of deductible. They have open enrollment til May 30th I think. I am not sure what the requirements are.
I have recently purchased the A50 and love it. However, this morning I woke up late for work as my phone had switched off during its overnight charge. There was no way to turn it back on until at least 10 minutes after taking it off charge and frantically running to work. Once the phone was on, it had 100% battery.
Does anyone have any idea why this happened? Could it be an overheating issue?
This has never happened to any other phone I've owned.
I have been charging with the cable the A50 comes with but with the S7 plug. Could that be the culprit?
If that's the case I will just use the A50 plug itself.
I have looked everywhere for an answer. This only happened today and may never happen again but I would like to know other people's opinions.
Don't know why this happened, bug somewhere, software update, don't know, but do you really need to leave the phone on an overnight charge,
The treakle charge at 100% is known to cause heating issues, and I hear the a50 is not the most durable phone,.
Strange that it would just turn the phone off completely

To be honest, it could have been as simple as electric fluctuation. I have no idea.
I didn't charge last night as I as slightly reluctant to do so.
So far, the phone is working flawlessly and hasn't restarted or shut off on its own. I will eventually charge it once the power drops to almost 0.
Will update so as to let everyone know in case there are similar issues out there.

When it happened to me it was the second time I had charged over night, the first time was fine.
I haven't done it since and so far the phone has been fine.
During Update my phone A50, I just press Power button+Vol down button together. After that my phone was off and can not on till now. I tried to press vol up + power button together but it did not work. Can you please Help.
My Samsung A50 just went off by itself after power went off and has refused to come up. Truth is i have charged it several times using this same power and i can tell power is almost stable except that i am using a different charger head to charge for some time now. Wont sill come up, any help or suggestion?
We have several of these A50's and up to now we had 3 of them with this problem.
At the moment that it refuses to turn back on i noticed that the back of the phone is warm , between the top of the phone and the word SAMSUNG . The rest of the phone is cold.
I left the phone alone for about 4 hours without power cable plugged in , after those 4 hours i plugged it in and after a minute it started charging with a indicator of 0% .
You can also try a forced reboot ( hold volume up and down + power button for 5 sec )
Did anyone manage to solve this issue? My girlfriend's A50 has shut down twice overnight now, and the only way to turn it on is by pressing power and volume down for 10 seconds. She has the May update.
Same issue here, i reset my phone to factory settings then install all of my applications and since do that, the issue doesn't occurs any more till now (1 week)
Same here!
Same situation here!
It turned off during the night 3 times now!!
I was late to work The first time, now I have to activate the alarm on my wife's phone, because I don't trust this one anymore.
To turn it back on, you don't need to wait 4 hours, you just have to press power and volume down.
Samsung has to do something about this!

That doesn't sound like it's actually turning off. More like it gets stuck with screen off and you're making a forced reboot with the button combination.

Yeah that might actually be the case, and it's completely hung since alarms won't go off. Apparently it does not seem like an isolated case so I guess we'll see what the store says.
Same situation at my A50 to. No notifications,no reaction, no alarm, no reacttion after simple power button press, only black display. It get alive only with described buttons combination-power+vol up .
The problem occure only after night charging time, in the morning.
I was advised not to leave on charge overnight. I have just got this phone and was asking live chat about something else and she mentioned new smart phones did not require full overnight charges and unplug as soon as it’s finished charging.. also that fully discharging battery to 0% is not recommended either and should be charged around 20% to increase the life of the battery. I think I will try that advice. Always had Samsung phones and been happy with my S5 for many years..but it’s very outdated and decided on upgrade but can’t justify the price of S10 lol.
