Links I click in browser aren't opening in the appropriate apps - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

It used to be when I clicked a link to the Android market in the browser, it gave me the option to open it with the Market app. Similar things happened for Youtube, Yelp, and Wikipedia, which I had apps for.
I'm not exactly sure when it stopped working, or if it even worked at all on my T989, or if I'm remembering back to a previous phone. Does it work for anyone else?
I've tried this in different browsers (Samsung stock, Opera Mobile, Dolphin HD), and I've tried clearing the default app on web browsing, as well as using Default App Manager to clear the default apps set for Web Browser - www.youtube.com and all the other websites.
It just isn't presenting me with the option, and the web browsers are just opening the links themselves.
Any idea what's wrong?

Youtube not opening by default on click

Afternoon all
Did a search but couldn't find anything dealing with this particular issue (if I've missed something, please point it out.).
When I use the native browser and hit a YouTube link, the browser opens up the HTC flash player/streaming media player. But I want it to open the YouTube app, like my HTC Hero used to.
I've tried clearing the defaults for the flash player, streaming media player, youtube app and internet but no joy.
If I try the same test using the Dolphin browser, I get the option to open youtube links with the youtube app, which is what I want the native browser to do!
Does anyone know how to get the native browser to handle youtube links with the youtube app?
Cheers

Bueller? Anyone?
anybody..
It's the same on mine. Can't see any way of changing it. I wonder if this is in anticipation of full flash support in the next Android release?
AFAIK it *should* work - it worked fine on the Hero and it works with the dolphin browser... I'm completely stumped

For those whos browsers crash with Flash content

I have just installed Skyfire Browser (beta) from the Market and the sites that crash for me using the Android built in browser are fine in Skyfire, ie BBC , sites that embed justin.tv videos.
i mainly use flash to watch football and the framerate is superb using Skyfire.
Hope this helps some people on here.
So you don't have todays Flash 10.1.95.1 update skewing the comparison?
5MB more gone...

No........... but ive just installed it and my usual sites are still crashing with the stock Android browser and fine with Skyfire
Here's a test then. How many embedded videos can you see and playon this page with the Skyfire browser? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/9004741.stm

I clicked your link and it crashed
and even worse the sites which were ok for my about 10 minutes ago now crash!!!!!!
what have you done?
got it working again after uninstalled/reinstalling.
this is weird as the football videos on the scottish premier league section of the BBC website play fine.
I have the "Enable plug-ins" option set top On-Demand and when i try your link i do not even see a box where the flash videos should be.
If i set "Enable plug-ins" option to "always on" and try your link then the browser crashes.
Thanks for trying and persisting
It's pages like that giving us weird problems, like crashes, lag, no embedded video showing, etc.
There should be two Flash vids on that page to play. I too have plugins set to on-demand and if I change it to Always on, then try that page -> crash. I don't know what it is but it is limited to a few sites in my case so it doesn't bother me as much.

tried dolphin browser too but same problem

[Q] you tube app

A small question:
I am using insert coin gb rom v25.
How can i configure the browser to launch the you tube app, when i click on a youtube link?
If you have the YouTube app installed then it should ask you whether you want to load it in the browser or the app, that's if you haven't defaulted the browser. If you have, then just go an clear the defaults.
Internet has no defaults, and youtube has also no defaults, but the browser does'nt ask me what i like to use.
If your viewing YouTube videos directly in your browser then it will just use the browser. It only asks what you want to use when you select an external link.

Youtube app won't open links

The browser and youtube apps both are both clear on the defaults and BaconReader actually lets me pick my intent, but no matter what I do I can't get Youtube links to play in the app instead of the browser.
I have reset data on both Youtube and the Browser.
Uninstalled Youtube and tried the factory installed Youtube.
Removed /system/app/YouTube.apk and installed the version from the market
Moved the latest market into /system/app/
I have plugged my phone into the computer and looked at logcat, what I'm seeing is that youtube is called but I get an error "invalid intercepted URI".
Has this happened to anyone else?
NINJA EDIT:
Well apparently it's only BaconReader, the browser was sending me to m.youtube.com which I guess isn't read by the Youtube handler. I found a vanilla link to a youtube video and it worked fine. Guess I'll be writing a developer.

YouTube videos won't open in Chrome

I have a rooted VZW phone, and when I do a search in Chrome for a video, and choose "videos" at the top of Chrome, any of the YouTube videos that show up, do nothing when I click on them. Videos that are on another site, work when I click on them. If I switch from "videos" to "web" at the top of Chrome, and click on a YouTube video, they open fine in the YouTube app. I've tried clearing the cache and settings in both the Chrome and YouTube apps. I installed FireFox and the videos work fine when I sort them as "videos".
