Livekey on LiveSound doesn't work - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, I bought a LiveSound headset online which arrived this morning. Plugging it into my phone the volume controls work fine but setting up the Livekey doesn't work. Pressing the button does nothing, even holding it down. I've read through the instructions, and have Liveware manager installed but the manager also only recognises the headset as 'headset' and not a specific LiveSound headset. I am running the latest Android 2.3.4 thanks for the help.

Go into headset, tick enable app launch then choose yoyr app

Problems Using Nokia HDw-2 with XDAII

Having problems with above! I can pair the devices, and the XDA asks me if I want to enable as a bluetooth headset, to which I say yes. I then enable the BT headset mode, and the sound still comes from teh XDA speaker (also, the headset buttons do nothing).
Is the headset compatible withe the XDAII?
Have you enabled headset mode on the phone. You do this by either clicking the headset icon at base of screen or through the menu.
yes mate, have been doing that - just no joy whatsoever!
Problem is some headsets just wont work, I have a nokia headset here that wont work with the xda 2, its the hbh-15.

Am I missing something??

I'm confused. I can't get any audio from my BT headset. (Dell BH200 stereo)
I've paired them, and the play/pause works with WMP. but no audio.
Any clues?
So....
okay then.

How about this. The "Audio Manager" will play via the BT headset, but not WMP.
Any way to make the Audio Manager app access my music (.m4a) on my sd?

when you paired the device... did you goto the Bluetooth Settings, press and hold the stylus on the paired device and select 'Set as Wireless Audio'??
Yup. I did that. I can hear the "Connected" tones in the headset.... WMP keeps playing via the internal speaker. I can play music in the "HTC Audio Manager" via BT without a problem. except it's a crappy app
Check the "speaker" setting for your audio player.. you may need to point to headset.
Also when pairing there is 2 modes that the Dell BH200can support togather
1) As a hands free - Phone mode
2) As a high quality stereo headphone
Paired with Asus P535.. works the remote control buttons worked on Windows media player as well as Core player v1.1.1
By the way if your PDA has other bluetooth device in the pairing list.. delete them all b4 pairing. Also press the reset button on the BH200 b4 you start the pairing.. just power up the headset and press reset.

[Q] play/pause with headphones does not work after s/w update

I recently got Xperia Arc where I was able to play/pause music & answer/end calls with the mic button on original headphones.
But after I updated the software on my phone this button does not respond while playing music, although I can still answer calls. I have tried another xperia headphone & it did the same, even tried a reset Any1 else facing similar issue after update or any fix for this, please help!!!
Hey no replies yet
Last night I updated my software to 2.3.4 & even downloaded Headset Button app.
I still does not work, I cannot play/pause music from my headphones, even with the Headset Button app I can hear tiny beep when I press it once but not response, however if I press it twice it skips to next tack & everything else is fine.
My only problem is I cannot play/pause music when I press the mic button on headphones....any help would be appreciated

Try Headset Control it's trial version but does the trick

Flashed ics, now headset no longer works.

Title says it all. Before flashing, headset worked, with the exception of the volume controls, now nothing... Just a warning. Btw I now have 2 Sony branded headsets that do not work with this phone. Why can't there be one standard???

I think this is standard 3,5mm port. I'm using iPhone headset with microphone with no problem. Try this app to check your phone

Works fine for me. Sure your headphones arent dead? Backup and reflash is always an option as well
I'm having the same problem. I have Klipsch X10i headphones which have iPhone controls. When I plugged them in with GB it would say some functions of the headset were not available but they worked, just not the buttons of course. Now when I plug them in nothing happens. The phone pretends there's nothing connected. The Xperia S was also known to do this with iPhone headphones.
Yeah, this was the same for me. My old headset was for my Sony X10, never worked on Ion. New headset is Sony brand (for iPhone) worked (without button control) until I flashed ics.

One way to get around this is to use a headphone extension cable. It's annoying, but it works. I'm pretty sure if you put tape around the data band it would have the same effect, but I'm worried about it falling off inside the phone and breaking the port. I suppose yet another solution would be to get the MW600 Bluetooth adapter and run them that way.
Thanks, but I just went ahead and got a new set. Skullcandy, they work fine.

keep pressing the vol up/down on the headset while plug it into the phone, then it will work fine.

Hahaha I can't believe this worked! I just hold down volume up while plugging it in and it works! As a bonus the play/pause button works, and double tapping it works for skipping tracks. Haha, nice hack.

Weird trick. Worked for me too. Thanks!

Any thoughts on a nexus one headset not working after flashing ics? It worked with gingerbread (well the controls didn't, but I did get sound out of them). With ics it doesn't even act like I plugged anything in. The headset doesn't have any volume controls, and the skip track buttons do nothing.
I've tested the headset on another phone and they still work. I've also reflashed ics to see if that would help (well help this and a random rebooting issue I've been having).

Clear your cache for whatever app runs your music maybe? Kinda sounds like if you have a broken driver on a PC ya know?

Can you test the phone with a different set of headphones?
Is LiveWare active for headset?

I used another set of headphones, and they worked. It's not a headset like the ones I'm trying to use, just plain headphones. LiveWare sees the headphones just fine and sound comes out of them. The headset however does nothing. LiveWare doesn't even see them. As stated before, the headset works just fine with other phones so I'm kind of at a loss as to what exactly to do about it.
It seems that the headset has to have volume controls to actually be seen by the phone for some reason. Just tried my fiancee's iPhone headset and it worked as long as I was holding one of the volume controls while plugging it in. Kind of disappointing, but maybe once we have an unlocked bootloader and custom ROMs I will be able to use my Nexus One headset :crying:

Headset button

I received my new Bose MIE2 mobile headset. Anyone have any idea how to gain control over the button? I'd like to use it to mute/unmute while I'm on a call. It seems to end a call instead. I tried various headset button controller apps in the market but they all seem to fail taking control of the button despite their debug mode showing they are interpreting the button press (any idea what setting is retaining control over the function)? Thanks!
Just see if Bose has an app on the market. If not then you might be sol

I've done a ton of reading. Its not a Bose issue. Its an Android issue. They changed something in Jelly bean that carried into Kitkat where the phone call app owns all the headset button input. There are third party apps out there that worked prior to the change. If you debug you can see the phone receives the button presses but the apps just can't control them. Seems ridiculous that we can't even program one button whereas iPhone has three button headsets that work.
