Are the G2/DZ ROMs on miuiandroid the same thing as the ones posted on XDA but without the minor modifications? i.e. is it safe to flash the roms on the official website weekly.
Also, would there be any problems flashing an official build of MIUI over a custom without a full wipe?
If the stock updates work in 'about phone' you will find that they actually download the stock version without any mods from previously flashed rom.
Also its fine to flash them over a modded miui but you may lose some of the mods like oc settings. I've done it a few times. I just flash bulletproof pack over the top.

As said above, the Bulletproof MIUI mod for instance states in their thread here on the site that it should work with any weekly release from MIUI, at least as long as it is based on the same Android version.

Why does rom manager only support two different roms for the g2 but has a much larger selection on other phones such as the droid or evo? I would like a little more selection than a kernel, nightlies for one rom, and one sense based rom to choose from. Anyone have some insight to why this is?

I never use Rom Manager to flash any Roms, I personally like to flash new Roms from recovery and actually go thru the process of wiping and installing the Rom myself. As for your question of why it only supports 2 Roms, I'm really not sure why.
EDIT: If found this LINK that might explain why, it looks like the ROM Dev's need to go thru the process of getting there Roms on Rom Manager, and maybe some of them haven't or dont want to go thru the process.
Exactly what he said. Its up to the rom dev to put it in rom manager and work with koush.

Is there more ROMs on the premium version of ROM Manager or does it just make it easier to update?

Premium just gives you access to the nightlies, sadly ... start asking the devs to submit their ROMs

I also manually flash my roms, and wipe caches and battery stats, but its just handy to be able to download it like a cm7 nightly and be notified about rom updates. Then from there I take over and flash it myself. But would like to see a variety up there that's all. I would be more inclined to try different roms I think. I've only had cm6.1.1 and about 75 different cm7 builds, between gridlocks build and when they became official nightlies.

What find are people using ??
I'm using Jikantaru's ROM - epic sense 2.1 (at least that's what the zip's called.) it's based on an asian rom. It's the best i've tried yet. And most recent i think which hopefully means active development...
I'm using it, too, with no problems for the moment.
A very good ROM and usefull apps with it (except Equalizer for is huge ressource draining).
A must have.
Yeah, Jicantaru's rom - best rom I tried on this phone. Bad that rom-makers didn't made port of MIUI - i think, that would be cool...
If the ufficial update is untill the latest version why you use custom rom?
would this asian rom work on european phones with english ?
There are a few (or more) ICS/JB roms that are fully running without any problems on DHD. Why CM doesn't make one officially? I'm using CM7 and I saw many ICS roms running smoothly on DHD but I'm not going to try it because I don't want to loose my stuff on current CM7. So I'm waiting for CM to build an official one. Why don't they build it?
And I found out CM only build an official one when the manufacturer release a official new stock rom. Right?
...
yes. Its correct and CM's you are talking about are custom roms and that's why they are diffeerent. Release of official CM is unknown becouse kernel for dhd is not released

Right now I'm using official cm. If I wanted to change to an unofficial cm, do I need to wipe data off?
I guess you mean cm7. I would always do a full wipe before flashing a new rom. It might be ok if you don't wipe but it's not worth chancing it because you could get problems later. Backup your apps if you need to first if that's what you're concerned about.
Hey,
So I found a MIUI 3.5 ver. ported from the GS3 in the Development Forums with some inexplicable problems with it (home button wont work, Play Store crashes, etc.) which I will address when I reach the 10 post mark, but I was just wondering when a MIUI 3.5 (V5) official version will be released, because even the latest 2.12 for the T989 is glitchy and certain apps crash and doesnt have some of the features and animations I loved in the experimental GS3 port.
So any news from Xiaomi you have heard or developed on?
Thanks, and if anyones wondering I'm running CM10.1 nightlies.
Nobody else has these issues, clean flash with infamous wipe scripts. Also follow the op's instructions for flashing (it says flash miui, get past setup screen, then flash 4.1.2 gapps). Do all of this and the only bug you will find is the camera

Been running it a couple days now with no problems, just downloaded a different camera from play store working fine.

MIUI v5 is based off 4.2. Look up things before you go telling people to flash older gapps. Not to mention I'm fairly positive (it's been a while) that you don't even flash GApps with MIUI because they have their own versions of apps.

Miui v5 is 4.1 and the 4.2 version of v5 came out 2 weeks ago. I do not include gapps in my ROMs(no one includes them in miui now a days) so 4.1 gapps have to be flashed

Hello.
My friend asked me to reflash his Desire Z, so I'm looking for some stable daily ROM (ICS or higher).
For now I chosen:
MIUI 4.2.28 multi
AOSP 4.2.2 Jelly Baby (really not sure about this ROM)
Sensei 1.3.0
Sabsa Prime v15
any other tips?
Thanks
Normally best dd ROM questions are not to be asked, but I assume sense you are doing this for a friend you won't easily be able to flash a bunch and try them out as what is normally suggested
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348266
You will find a list of all ROMs here, many will say the most stable and fastest ROMs will be gingerbread based as that's as far as HTC brought this device. But many 4.x ROMs are quite nice for dds
Best recommendation is to flash a couple of the "more popular" ROMs and make nandroid of each and place on SD card, then instruct your friend how to easily change between them so s/he can decide for themselves what is best

Thanks for reply.
I know that it's not possible to say one ROM, but on the other hands always exist ROM which can't be marked as very stable (e.g. KitKats build now)
I really missed your list, thanks for info
(Because I already found some list, but it wasn't updated for a long time)
Anyway thanks for you work
BTW the first 3 ROMs has same link in your list
