[Q] Keyboard lighting settings change?

Is it possible to tweak the keyboard lighting settings because it goes off to soon imho....

Not exactly sure what you mean by this, but the question has been asked lots of times (just do a search on keyboard backlight) as many people complain about it. No great solution so far though unless you install a custom ROM (I know CM6 allows you to customize all of the backlight levels) or cover up your light sensor to keep it lit...
Alternatively, I think there they might be some apps on the market like Power Manager that keep the backlight on, but I have tried any since I use CM6...

It would only turn off if there's lots of light. There's no timer.

not talking about a timer, just the sensitivity of the sensor regarding the lighting on keys.... it just goes of to quick imo....

Here you can reports all your problems of the Quarx's CM10 that you have (not Epsylon's one sorry).
I think that this thread will be easier for him than look for all reports spreaded in the many pages of his thread
Before adding your problem(s) :
- Be sure to use the latest version of CM10 ! (check here)
- Be sure that your report is not in the 2 lists bellow.
Take a look here if you wanna know how to install the ROM, and few things like that.. : FAQ, FAQ 2 :good:
Problems list:
#X = Confirmed
#1: am/pm not displayed on the lock screen.
#2: Developer options go back to default after reboot.
#3: Unlock Screen with Volume-Buttons doesn't always work while playing music.
#4: Defy ROM Updater shows older builds ( builds before 2nd boot builds).
#5: Not rebooting into recovery
#6: Battery only charges up to 85% on MB525
#7: Settings is crashing when loading and saving default screen dim levels. (Settings > Display > Automatic Backlight > Use Custom > Edit Other Level > Load defaults > Save & Apply),
#8: Phone only vibrates for a second when receiving calls.

Seriously it would be better organized here, this thread would be only to report problems/bugs, and Quarx's post to speak about all the other things concerning the ROM

So:
- The buttons backlight is working if you set in display/automatic backlight the correct values and settings. At least for defy+.
- compass is not working
- the ascending ringtone is working only one time.

Settings for buttons backlight

Avi files are not supported in stock gallery video player on CM10?
Also some applications that play live TV not working, for example tn.apk (hd tv)

4mp wide camera mode
the preview and final snap is different in 4mp wide camera mode for all d builds.it gets cropped in d final pic.

- UPNP players does not find DNLA servers
- usb debugging starts after reboot, even if disabled (setting not saved)

- please add a checkbox for "config_enableLockBeforeUnlockScreen" (framework-res/res/values/bools.xml)

LED
Hy, I have a problem with the LED notification since CM9, it blinks, in other words flashes, when I get sms or anything else, regardless of the option that is "Always On", it is really annoying for me.
And I think that the new LED notification color picker is a s**k, because I can't pick clean green colour, but a red one...
The way of picking color in CM7 is far better, imho.
I use the latest, 25/08 QCMX.

add a bug from my side - opening animation of app drawer is sluggish

About Logcat apps,
App developers need to update their apps to support Jelly Bean ,
So it's not a bug.
Quick system info works perfect for logs.

I feel sorry that you did not understand me. It is my bad. I try to write down my problem by other words.
So, Settings, Display, Notification light, -> Selected
Below it, there is a menu, called Default (when you enter it, its name is Edit light settings).
So, in this menu I set the notification color (red) and pulse lenght and speed (Always on).
Unfortunately, it (notification led) does not work correctly because it blinks red.
I have asked several people, but they said that their notification worked correctly.
Otherwise, It works correctly on CM7.
I hope You can understand me.

1) Always on for LED notification does not work
2) Updated to 25/08 caused Play Store to disappear
3) Flashing GAPPs after updating causing persistent search bar in Trebuchet to disappear (may be CM Trebuchet issue)
4) On reboot Airplane Mode must be toggled to regain signal (I believe this has been noted previously)
5) Swiping to Camera Shortcut on Lock Screen opens camera but does not unlock phone

please put only confirmed bugs in the OP. there are lots of bugs which are caused by a specific, non-stock app, thus its not the roms fault. if at least one other member can confirm the bug, then its a bug of the rom.

I wrote in the OP if users could confirm reports, then I'll add something like [Confirmed] in the problems/bugs list .

#13 and #14 are the same thing.
It does not matter the color of the LED.
The problem is the fact that it blinks regardless of the option that is "Always on".
So it is confirmed, on the one hand by me and on the other hand by Qwertyuiop23.

Disable Touch Key Backlight on Google Edition

I hope someone can help me out with this (I guess most of my posts arent worth bothering with as they usually go untouched by anyone). I'm trying to figure out a way to disable the touch button backlight on a Google Edition ROM. I have been searching for an answer since the Google Edition hit. All I can ever find is how to disable on GSIII ROMs (non ge). If anyone can please help me out I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Screen Filter is an app that can disable the backlight of the softkeys. Set it to auto-start at boot and you should be good. I know its not a direct fix but its a low impact app that shouldnt effect battery life or operation.

Seems to work for me. Did it dim the screen at all (thats its main function)? Did you see the check box "enable softkey back light" (uncheck it) at the bottom of the app ui?

Yes, it did dim the screen, but if i uncheck the enable softkey back light, anytime I touch the screen the backlights still come on. Are you on a G.E. rom? I am currently on Infamouse G.E.

No im not. I am on AOSP (Slim Bean) though.

There are options to do this in AOKP and CM roms. Anybody know how those builds pull it off?

Give me a minute to shower and I'll write you an app. All you have to do is install my app, reboot, grant it root access, and profit.

Okay i am having troubles setting it to off on boot. But here is a "toggle" version of it where you can toggle them on or off. Will try and fix the boot issue tomorrow.

[Q] Use Menu and Back button as notification LED

Hi there,
is there a way to use the Menu and Back button on the bottom of the phone as a notification LED? Just let it blink if there is a notification in the system?

I have tried several apps (BBS Notifications, ButtonLED) to accomplish this, unfortunately without any success.
The BBS Notification was able to control the button lights, however when the screen is off the lights do not work. Some phones do not allow the lights to go on, when the screen is off and as it seems S4 Mini is one of them. I also hope someone will find a solution for this, preferably one that will not cause too much battery drain.
Another option might be BLN mod. However, I read that the BLN modification in kernel might cause battery drain exactly because of the necessary changes in power management in order to allow the button light to work when the screen is off (the BLN mod for Mini does not exist yet as far as I know).

I think the BLN kernel solution is better than any noLED app or other.
So I am very interested in a BLN supporting kernel.
Were can a user as me ask for this or can see the progress in building such a BLN-supporting kernel?

You can try noled it uses your screen led for notification but drains battery

As I wrote I this the BLN is much more better.
If you look at night on your superAMOLED screen while a noLED sign is there, the whole screen is lighter.
As far as I see this app (noLED) is not able to let our wonderful AMOLED screen totaly black but gives a little light on the whole screen.
So: were can a "new" user as me, with 2 years CM experiance at his Galasy S I can ask developers to create a BLN supportet kernel?
I dont want to post it in the wrong place here in XDAdev.

if you can wait for cm 10.1 i think you will get bln or cmLights support ... afaik this is needed to get this to work and @arco68 allready included this ... correct me if im wrong

I remembered to see the backlight somewhere on a todo list, but now can't find it. Is this now available in the stable release?

no it isn't. Still on the list.

Anything new yet? My girlfriend uses se S4 mini and is annoyed of the missing LED. NoLED drains too much battery...

Hi all! Sorry, I can't speak enough correct english, but you can understand me.
I have a problem. My screen is too light by colors or gamma not by brightness. How can I change it? I reseted by flashing and all what i can, but not works.
edit: When I close with power, its do it. Earlyer android version sometimest newest android always.
