Bro, please post questions on a appropriate thread

Hello,
I recently bought used in mint HTC Desire. It had already S-OFF'ed, Rooted, Recovery Installed (CWM) and Custom ROM flashed (MIUI).
After few days, I noticed the issue of screen backlight is flickering when I set manual brightness setting to low or dim. Mostly at night times. Though could be ROM issue but when I flashed different ROM, there issue persists.
Later of researching, found that this is known issue in mostly Desire Z. When I set above 31%, backlight won't flicker so it means the LCD tolerance of low voltage is not good.
Now I cannot send it back for warranty as its 2nd hand and I don't have bill. Of course, international purchase.
I use 3rd party app to set 31% whereas default low setting is 20%. I would like to modify the default low brightness setting to 31% so that I can use default brightness manual slider and won't be needing of 3rd party apps.
Can anybody please help me where I can find the setting file? Or atleast a app to modify it.
Thanks...
Best Regards
Bump...
Someone please help me.
I'm new to android and cannot figure out solely.
I'm using Runnymede AIO V5.0.2 Special Edition ROM. Please help me how to modify the lowest/least/dim backlight setting. I sure its not so hard but I really don't know where to edit.
Please help guys!!!
Thanks...
Best Regards
Sebastian today uploaded new mod for auto-brightness settings...haven't tested it very well yet, but give it a try. It's downloadable from addons (names include "autobrightness", don't forget to chose correct HBOOT).

Yeah noticed. I just downloaded and flashed v5.0.2 few hours before he released v5.0.3.
However, I don't think that will solve my LCD flickering issue because my LCD is faulty or doesn't work with low back light (tolerance), otherwise.
Backlight percent shouldn't go below 31% otherwise, my lcd starts to flicker. Default low setting is 20 I guess.
Thanks...

Thanks. I was doing that itself while you posted!
First time I used APKMultiTool to modify framework-res.apk and when I pushed to phone and reboot, it sucked at animation loop.
Had to reflash to get back to working device. Then I tried Apk Manager 4.9. Pushed the file and after reboot device is working fine.
But still same issue.
Things I have modified:
config_lowest_autoBrightnessLcdBacklightValuesDown
config_lowest_autoBrightnessLcdBacklightValuesUp
config_lowest_autoBrightnessLcdBacklightValues
Edited to 31 lowest in place of 30.
Edit: looks like thats different or otherwise related to auto brightness setting. Mine is with manual brightness setting. Anybody know where that will be?
Thanks...
Best Regards
did you wipe dalvik? I could be related to rc tweaks too as they have commands how to control those numbers... I don't that knowledge just learning that...

No, thats different. Its auto brightness settings. Do you see or used Default, Lower and Lowest option in rc tweaks? Yes those settings are found in framework-res.apk. Thats what I have edited but it will not change manual brightness setting bar (in quick settings).
I guess manual brightness setting should be in kernel.
Im using Lower option and Im happy with it... Lowest is too low for me... try pm Droidzone he made kernel for seb15...

Wish my device was also same but its LCD has low backlight tolerance issue. And the device is 2nd hand nor I have money to buy new lcd. Thats why I'm struggling to fix it myself.
Tried some 3rd party apps. Worked fine but they didn't suited well for daily usage.
Droidzone has disabled PM and seb15 has denied asking questions via PM. I tried to post the issue in his thread but no body responded.
Thanks...
Best Regards
tried to ask on his website?

I know it's a software problem because I have a beta ICS rom.
So, I'm asking if there is an app or a script to enable the light whith a shorcut ?
Thanks to read it and sorry for my bad english

I'm assuming you do not have auto-brightness enabled? Because it won't know that its dark enough to need the keyboard lights... if you don't want to have full auto-brightness or you want to control it i would flash andromadus cause they have a really good customization for the auto-brightness levels : cyanogen mod style
owwh yeah you're right! thanks a lot!!
But there is no way to activate keyboard's light whitout auto brightness?

Currently...no. This seems like a temporary fix since the devs are working on more important things, i.e Camera... Once they work that out they will probably move on to the "facelifts".
I know there isn't much of a point to me saying this - but be sure to post questions in the Q&A forum!
I think it is just on Virtuous Beta Rom, on Andromadus, it seems to work
Sorry for created the topic in the wrong section
Indeed I'm on Virtuous Beta Rom.
There is a free app called "Backlight off" that help to force the light of hw keyboard on!
It's only for rooted phone and I have tried this on the various beta of ICS for Desire Z and sometime it worked...
Sorry if there aren't link for download but are still not enabled!
Every time a reboot my G3 [D855 - V10e-EUR-XX - 4.4.2] the brightness will be set automatically to max (100%) and auto-mode turn automatically off.
Can I disable this and set the brightness as I prefer?
Thank you! :good:
PS: Bad English, sorry!
Simply use Lux

Do you guys notice that auto brightness still On even when its turn off, i mean when certain images on screen change, the brightness change a bit depending on how dark or light the image is... Has nothing to do with light around you.
Try browsing a vibrant picture then change to dark picture..
Anyone get this issue on your T2 ultra ??
How to fixed that ??

i dont know any fix but have you changed any thing in your phone
installed any conflicting brightness or some sort of keep device wake up kind of apps
last thing you can do is take a back up of your current states
then do a fresh install wipe every thing
that can solve your issue
coz from where i can see settings for sensor is messed up

I'm using xperia z ultra and having the same issue, had this problem on 4.4 and 4.3 but never on 4.2. I guess its a 'feature' called Content Adaptive Backlight (google it) and can't be disabled.

Guys, is there any possible non-root way that I can adjust the contrast on my OP5T? it's really high and for some reason the default adjuster is not doing the fine work. I believe this happened after the last beta update(open beta 31)
Please help me out.

You posted in the ROM section.. tisk, tisk.. There is a specific place for questions and you are more likely to get the answers you seek there. Also there are several apps on and off the play store that could probably help.. googling it will help you narrow your search for a solution that will work for you.
