Bring it on! Super excited for my next mobile and a move back to WP.
im pretty pumped myself
Good for you that your getting your new device. Congrats!
For me, its an uninteresting week ahead.
I have gotten a new device two weeks ago, but since I live in Europe I don't think we are really affected with devices announced there. And since my Lumia 800 is only two weeks old it has to last at least two/three years until I get a new phone But I do hope for some software announces regarding Skype, Tango and some Nokia Apps...

I'm due an upgrade in a couple of months so I'm hoping the 900 is gonna be around in Europe too.
I am so pumped hoping for Nokia on sprint. SprintFeed.com was invited to the event so that means something right. Fingers crossed

It's too late for my time zone
Not excited at all because i know Apollo won't be announced. Probably not even Tango.
I'm not that interested in LTE wp devices because of battery issues and AT&T lack of coverage. They won't get LTE in my area until late 2013 and even then will still have a 2GB cap.
What happens on monday?

I just repair myself my HTC TyTn II.Plan to make a dual boot.My keypad isn't working should have check it earlier and order the parts altogether.
I'm excited because it marks my inevitable return to AT&T lol. Never thought I would go back, but the combination of T-Mobile's declining network service, customer support, and overall experience with their lack of high end devices other than the balls of Android they're attached to tagged with AT&Ts commitment to WinPhone and their announcements today leaves me no choice. I may regret it, but my shiny new 900 will soften the blow.
if the price of 249 on two year contract is true I will shake my head at nokia, at&t and microsoft
there is no good reason why the price is more than the gsII, the iphone 4s, or anything comparable on the market. Plain and simple
and it may not be penta band (no AWS support) so I'm grasping at the why of this myself. All I know is we will see pricing is important
It would be a wonderful surprise if it was a dual core device but that's not happening...

livestream has a video stream going. I saw the AT&T keynote live. Was really looking forward to them talking about windows phone but android is all they care about (6 devices).
To anyone who might want to see this...
Here is a live blog of the new Nokia 900.

Very very happy man today. Could care less about price, the only thing that worries me is moving to LTE might take away unlimited data. I'll have to look into that. But!
My next mobile is the 900. I'd trade the GN I've been using, instantly, for one right now.

I want a WP7 so badly on Verizon. To have all my services (Xbox Live, Zune Pass, Netflix) on one phone is what I have been waiting for years now. Since I don't want to miss out on hacking I probably will get a Android tablet this year. But yeah hurry up VZW!
wait for it...
you'll want to wait for some upgrades so you can use data and voice at the same time...
imagine the buyers remorse of all those iphone users in a month or so...
I may be the minority but I barely talk on my phone and I use it all the time
Hang in there for a little while longer. I'm a live/zunepass user as well and having everything in one device has been great. If I want to send a message on xblive I just use the phone rather than the controller. You already know how great zunepass is, now I have one less device to carry.
Soon it will be yours!
CDMA support is in this coming update and the phones will be released shortly after. I think you will be seeing it sooner rather than later.

How about six days? They are clearly not going to release a WP7 phone for Verizon in six months. It will be WAY earlier.
don't be in such a rush. i was at tmobile and verizon last night in the mall and both are just pushing android devices. verizon is also advertising the heck out of the iphone now.
tmobile only had one hd7 out and they told me it is not selling well at all. they didn't even have the dell venue at all.
i got to play with the hd7 and while the design is great the os lacks very much. too simple for a high end user and tweaker such as myself.

My post.
Everything so far points to before the end of Feb (before/after the Cut&paste update comes) but, other reports say by then end of Jan. Others say any day now. So, no one has a phuck'n clue so far. No one is saying anything nor even hinting. I even have people in 5 Verizon stores who will text me when they know something and they don't know anything as of yet.
I'm sure by at least mid Feb we'll have one or at least know when we will get one.
I'll take one in 6 days if you can prove it.
Verizon WP7 by summer. IPhone will rule.
My bet is that Sprint will release a WP7 phone before Verizon.

Yeah, and AT&T sort of pushed the iPhone. They still sold the BlackBerry Torch upon launch. I think they are pushing WP7 now since they seem to be the only carrier with commercials.
I think Sprint will release their WP7 phone(s) before VZW.
So far, the only phone I've heard that is coming to VZW is the HTC Trophy (?), a super-generic (about) 3.6" touch screen phone.
The only WP7 phone out now that I want is the HTC 7 Pro. That will be coming to Sprint, and my fingers are crossed that VZW picks it up also since there will be a CDMA version already.

I really don't think that Verizon will get the short end of the straw for WP7. Something tells me that they might offer the some sort of Omnia device (maybe the Omnia with the keyboard). But I am just guessing because they offered Samsung Omnia phones in the past.

and how often does that come up??? And most times I try, even on 3g, if I wasn't already using the data, it tells me that I can't because I'm not on 3g (even though I am). There's a reason verizon is number 1, consistent data and voice services that don't cut out on you.

The Pro 7 has a Sprint logo on the top next to the speaker.
Last week I noticed that they discontinued their providing of the LG Quantum, and just now I was on there and see that they have also discontinued the HD7. No wp7/wp7.5 choices at all at the moment.
I can never for the life of me find out future phones coming to Canadian providers, so I'm not sure if they're making way for the Titan et al, or if they've just given up.
Must be temporary
Chad Saliba, Portfolia Collaboration Manager for Nokia Canada told MobileSyrup that in 2012 multiple Windows Phone devices will be released in Canada, across multiple price points and on several carriers, including Rogers, Telus and Bell, who are all sourcing Windows Phone 7 handsets.

Used to be the case - now we routinely get devices before the US. For example, Galaxy S II.
In the UK, only one carrier (Orange) is offering a WP7.5 phone (the HTC Radar), O2 still have the Mozart and HD7, nothing on Vodafone, nothing on 3. Naturally, they are all going big on the Iphone 4s which will no doubt result in queues in every mall in the country, If you want WP7.5 in the UK now, you pretyy much have to go with a 1st gen handset on contratc or buy your own SIM free (which is what I did). Microsoft really need to sort this out, most people here go to the carriers for their phones and get them on contract - they are never going to see Windows phone at this rate let alone buy into the platform.

How many 2nd gen devices are there? 2? I seriously doubt a lot of carriers will stock the Titan. It's way too much money to spend on a Windows Phone when a year old model can do the exact same things. Only a serious fanboy would buy it and WP currently has very few of them.
The other is Radar, which would have slipped past their radar in the midst of all the spanking new Android devices. You can't blame carriers for not carrying any WP7 phones when there aren't any to stock. Mozart, HD7, Trophy are old and outdated.

That depends on how much changes are made to the reference design by the carriers. If all they have to do is change the radio bands, then of course it will come much faster there than here. Carriers here like to have a bit more freedom with the cell phone design than in Canada.
Sad that we still have no mention of any WP7 new phones coming out of Bell (or any of the providers in Canada).
Next to no marketing of them I guess doens't help.
Everyone I show my phone to loves it...need another one for work and would rather not get an iphone...
I really don't want to wait for 2012.
has anyone contacted Bell to see if the LG quantum will be getting the tethering firmware update?
the stores in my area have no wp7 phones at all..
LG quantum is selling at WalMart for 120 as a pay as you go phone.
It sucks that they are pushing customers away from wp7.
They're probably waiting on new phones.
It's funny...the latest Futureshop cellphone advertisement "booklet" in the local paper has pages upon pages of android phones and blackberries but no wp7 phones...however, Microsoft have a big advertisement at the end about WP7...
What a waste of f'ing money...why advertise something you don't even sell in Canada.
Microsoft is doing a terrible job with this phone in Canada...horrible...you cannot buy a wp7 phone even if you want to...
What a f'ing joke.
omg is anyone as frustrated and pent up as I am that the titan is not quite here yet?!! I am in a horrible situation with t-mobile. I have horrific coverage at work and am there 60+ hours a week. I can't return text messages, web browse, send recieve emails, my calls drop, i'm literally carrying a huge paperweight when I get to the office.
I have to leave the building and go outside to use my phone, compound that with the fact that I have had my hd7 for an entire year, im dying to get a new phone. I have grown tired of the hardware and can't wait for the bigger screen, front facing cam and to be on a network that actually works!!
i should have never left at&t, i had unlimited data the A list and now those features are gone! tmobile lured me with the big screened hd7 only to find out months later its release for at&t big fail...
i've even gone to the nearby at&t store and they're clueless imbeciles! and also i am currently in a month long dispute trying to break my contract with t-mobile because of my horrible service at work, i blow up their customer relations fax # every business day, faxing them my 4 page letter of discontent, still pending...
either way , im bouncing from tmobile as soon as this phone hits, I just wallow day after day in frustration over my current carrier and old hardware
sigh!!!!!

I gotta say, my titan has been re-boxed in favor of the dell venue pro. It's a valiant effort but it's still HTC build quality and until Nokia has some U.S. Devices my dvp is the best wp7 device out after the fixes.

Just pre-ordered the white Lumia 900 from Negri Electronics! W00t!

Same here. It was crazy spontaneous, but I am in LOVE with the hardware, and have wanted a white phone (but not an iPhone) forever, LOL. I've been only iphone (couple years ago), and since then only android. Not sure I'm ready for the WP7 switch, but willing to give it a go!
Do you guys think these will be LTE capable? It says so on the Negri Electronics order page, BUT I'm reading articles that say it's the international white version that won't be LTE capable...

Interesting. Personally, I don't live in an LTE area, so it won't bother me if it is only HSPA. I'm hoping the white lumia is released earlier than the locked ATT version.

Well, now that LTE is available in STL, I'm going to wait for the Cyan AT&T version. HURRY UP!
I'm also considering the white lumia 900. I have the Titan now but the locked internet sharing by ATT is pissing me off (especially since I'm using it unlocked on a Canadian carrier) and the fact I have one of the early models with defective ram is enough for me to want to switch phones.
BUT I will miss the bigger screen size, loud speaker and HTC apps.. Also interested in comparing the LTE speeds to 4G. I've heard that the external speaker on the lumia 800 sucks. As well I heard the battery life is significantly worse than the Titan. I'm curious if these "cons" will be translated over to the lumia 900 as well.. These are all possible deal breakers for me.
Can anyone confirm that when the unlocked model does become available if this model will support the ATT bands 100%? I really need the unlocked tethering this time around.
I pre-ordered it the first day of availability from the MS Store in Costa Mesa. They seemed to know all about it, and said yes it would be 4G/LTE on att. Can't wait to get my hands on it, but why wait so long after CES to release? Especially when you lose all the positive press and with the Ipad3 release comming the same time. I would have thought they would have released it quickly.

I'm just as anxious as you to get it. My guess is they will announce the date come MWC next week, which should get quite a bit of press. Hopefully the date will be sometime early march!
I was never this excited about the Iphone. I used to have a HTC 3125 that was windows based, and I really loved using it. I don't mind the Iphone, and I love the fact that just works, but I have had to fix it 3 times, (broken screen, water damage, etc) and now to upgrade to a 4S or 5 and have to pay 400+ dollars, thats too much for a phone. If the rumours are true and the 900 comes in at $100 bucks, I'm thinking this could spell a lot of trouble for Android phones.
I also saw a rumour that Instagram may have the an WP7 app before they get an android app out. Give me that and a Pandora App, and Words with Friends, and I would be completely happy.
This is the WP7 device I'm interested in. I've been interested in it ever since they made it official. Nokia makes the best hardware IMO, and their reception and call quality is top notch.

AT&T has a habit of releasing new phones on Sundays, so April 8th part of the rumor lines up nicely.
AT&T's releases though are usually on the 1st and 3rd Sundays according to the manager of my local corporate store. I still have my fingers crossed for March 18th if we could get that lucky.

Well, 18th is a third Sunday of the month so maybe we will see it even sooner then rumored April 8th date.
Has there been any rumors/whispers/overheard a conversation in the bathroom news of any future WP7 phones that may be coming to sprint?
Sprint will launch a new Windows Phone about a month after Apollo RTM. You are looking at September period.
The device will feature Snapdragon MSM8960 and LTE.
Source: The Verge
Sprint's network currently sucks too bad to support any kind of phone.
Maybe it will change in the future.
This is a bummer. I'm on Sprint now with only the HTC Arrive and I do want to stay on it. Unfortunately I've been sold on the Nokia Lumia 900 so I'm gonna jump over to AT&T once that's out.
Kinda annoyed that both Sprint and Verizon both have exactly 1 Windows Phone. Seriously lame.
While Sprint may be releasing an LTE "Windows Phone 8" device in September, I'll believe it when I see it. Either way, they are so far behind in LTE that it would take a few years for it to be readily available around the country.
I've been with Sprint for about 4 years, and ditched them today for the Lumia 900 and AT&T (pre-ordered). Sprint has shown ZERO support for Windows Phone since it's launch. I remember being laughed at for trying to get the $50 pre-order gift card for my HTC Arrive when it launched last March.

I hate to admit it, but I've been thinking of leaving Sprint for the Lumia 900 too after their lack of support for the Arrive. I'm trying my hardest to hold out though, I don't want to feel buyer's remorse when I see the snazzy new Apollo-based handsets come out a few months later. I know I'll want one of those instead simply because it's new.
I also went to my local Sprint store and asked about that $50 pre-order and nobody had a clue what I was talking about. They eventually called the manager who told me there was no need to pre-order and to just show up on the Sunday release date because there wouldn't be any lines or sell-outs for a Windows Phone. I'm glad I followed his advice because I saved $100 by ordering from Wirefly and still got it within days after it was released.

I may be reaching a bit but I think Microsoft may be party to blame here, if you remember Windows Phone didnt have ANY CDMA support when it was initially released in November 2010, it wasnt until 6 months later when the Arrive came out that there was a CDMA windows phone anywhere maybe if there was CDMA and GSM support in the beginning Sprint and Verizon would have put in more effort
Meh. Sprint and Verizon chose to use, and keep using, a cellular technology that very little of the rest of the world uses (some in China, and I few other countries, but the majority is overwhelmingly GSM). NoDo wasn't *that* long in coming, and it's been more than a year since it shipped. At the rate that phones come out these days, that's plenty of time.
I have no problem with sprint releasing another EVDO WP.. So long as I continue paying $40/mnth

I totally agree. Pre-orderer the Nokia Lumia 900 and am saying bye to Sprint. Thanks for the low cost plans Sprint but you guys suck when it comes to having actual good phones.
I really love the Lumia 900 but I went to price plans with AT&T and it costs almost 40% more than what I have with sprint, not to mention the fact that data is capped. I'm definitely frustrated with Sprint's lack of focus with 4G and WP7 but 40% is 40%.

I will agree that Microsoft was partly to blame for the INITIAL sludge in to the CDMA market with Sprint and Verizon... however, it has been nearly 13 months now since the Trophy and Arrive were released on the two carriers. There is further opportunity for new devices, but both Verizon and Sprint have put their marketing focus behind iPhone (and some Android).

My problem with Sprint isn't the price, it is the speed and availability. I travel weekly, and have resorted to carrying a back-up phone (Samsung Focus unlocked on T-Mobile) due to limited service and speed on Sprint's network. Sprint is perfectly fine in major metropolitan areas, but smaller cities (like Fort Wayne, IN where I was last week) leaves a lot to be desired.
If and when Sprint decides to make the jump to LTE, they are going to be at least 12-18 months behind the competition in network expansion. I'm more than happy to pay a premium price for a premium service.
Sprint has always been good to me. It sucks they only have one wp7 phone but for some reason cherish the iPhone.
I have been with sprint for almost 10 years now. In the last 2 years I have seen them add a $10 fee per smart phone(on a family plan that is an extra $50 a month), they increased the cost of my additional lines, they have taken away the premiere program, while in a 4G city I can't get 4g, and their their 3g speeds gotten have extremely slow. I would like to stay with sprint because it is a big hardware investment to switch carriers but sprint hasn't made it very easy for me. Now they are lacking in the windows phone offereings. I have a couple of Zune HD users in my house and they really want a WP7 phone but are not pleased with the idea of the arrive. I think sprint was banking too much on the iphone giving them a jump start because of their unlimited data but it has panned out as well as they had hoped. I think this is why why they have ignored the WP7 platform.

Not surprising. I'm sure they want to play the "wait and see" game after the Palm Pre didn't do as well as they hoped and they want to go with something that has already proven successful on other carriers.
I would've stayed with sprint but their 3G speeds were getting far too unbearable here in Chicago and the suburbs, plus so many broken promises on when they would fix the towers,it just wasn't worth the $97 I was paying, now with T-mobile I get 10GB of full speed, 500 talk, unlimited text for $100 and my speeds are better than they ever were on sprint, even my throttled speeds are faster than sprint.
Sprint has a LG phone on the way. Its been articles on the net today.
AT&T is way over priced.

Is the LG phone gonna be better than the Nokia Lumia 900?
