Hi , iv been lookin' in most of the posts , seen a lot of prints of sgs desktops and iv seen so many nice wallpapers , live or no live . Now i was wondering if u all want, or any of u want to add his wallpaper from his sgs here would be cool to share it. would be so nice to see what wallpaper's everbody is using high quality and best fit would be perfect to post! i will post mine soon as i can .
So after seeing demonstrations of Sense 4.0 at MWC, there wasn't much that I was jealous of when compared to stock ICS. However, I was impressed by the implementation of multitasking that HTC has put into the new version of sense.
I haven't seen a thread about this, so I wanted to ask...What are the chances of any brave devs out there working on porting over the sense 4.0 task-switcher to our beloved Galaxy Nexus?
Personally I would rather see a wp7 multitasking, I dislike the tilt on sense 4.0 screens
That's actually a good point. I'd take either. Right now I'm settling for an AOKP customization where the task switcher is horizontal, but the app previews remain the same size.

If you would be pleased by just getting the app previews smaller, that's just a simple xml edit in SystemUI.apk
EDIT: Here's a link on how to do it.

The previews still look pixelated though,
Need a higher quality image

They look pixelated because this is how it can show them quickly and not waste too much memory on it. Otherwise imagine 30 opened apps with high quality previews
Also, at our pcs they look more pixelated than in our phones.

It's not so much the size change that I'm looking for, it's that slick, smooth look and feel that WP7 and Sense 4.0 have for multitasking. Image preview quality doesn't concern me too much as I hopefully won't be looking at the images for long if I'm just quickly switching tasks.
Pretty slick : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXqdiCe2_yk&t=2m52s&hd=1

thread is here : [MOD] Change ICS App Switcher to Windows Phone 7 Style
for nexus s only...(sorry i don't have galaxy nexus.. )
but i wrote guide for this mod : [HOWTO] Change ICS App Switcher to Windows Phone 7 Style
WP7 style is WebOS style and has been implemented in AOKP/CM9 Rome for a while. Swipe up/down to close. You can view more screens the traditional ICS way but no different except we have a transparent black vs solid blue, but that could be changed with a replacement image.
Nothing new here, fyi
The 3D effect of sense would be a welcome addition though but functionality wise we already have this, just not as pretty
Asus TF101 ICS 4.0.3

I see most ROMs always trying to reduce they size. All well and good but why is it we don't see more on the other end of the spectrum. I don't mean full of crappy bloatware but lots of high rez wallpapers, high quality sounds, large elaborate themes and maybe a beta app they are working on.
That was my thought now the request. Might we see one or two big fat over weight monster ROMs with obscene amounts of useful features and other content. I mean we have 32gb of internal memory lets make use of it.
Please.
More content requires more time. That's why most dev are trying to implement standardized theme packages so work doesn't have to be duplicated.

For every person that wants tons of wallpapers and themes, there are a several who don't want it. So the way to make the most people happy is to not add tons of generally useless stuff.
Why can't you bring your own wallpapers and themes to do your ROM how you want it?

Same reason people throw money at artists and say "Wow me plz."
I have no skill making themes or even dressing myself well I have no sense of fashion or style.

Having owned a desire HD for 2 years I have decided to move to the HTC one X. Overall I am quite impressed with the phone but have a couple of niggles that I hope someone can resolve.
1) when I pinch to zoom there is quite noticeable lag when the text reflows to fit the width of the page. This is much more then the desire HD. How can this be when comparing single vs quad core?
2) What happened to HTC news? I thought this was one of the best widgets for news. It has now been replaced by android news and weather which I dont like. Is there anywhere that HTC news can be installed again as this is one thing I will miss.
Thanks

A couple of reasons. The "HD" display on the Desire was 800 x 480 wheras as the One X is 1280 x 720. That's 30% more pixels to move. It's also why the graphics benchmarks for the One X are lower than the One S which has the same resolution as the DHD. Samsung ditched reflow completely in the SGS3 to avoid lag. Owners are none too pleased. The "read" function that strips out graphics and expands text is lurking in the background even if you don't use it and is probably adding some weight to the screen painting. The browser is the stock browser tweaked (to death) by HTC. We're on 4.0.3 and there are browser improvments in 4.0.4 which is coming in the next update. HTC's made some browser changes in the 2.X update so hopefully that'll improve things. Meanwhile, the answer most people will give you is to usa a different browser from the market. I stick with stock because I really like the read function on mammoth text heavy sites like the WSJ.

30% More pixels? Seriously?
840x480 = 384000
1280x720 = 921600
So that's over double the amount of pixels on the One X.
You are right about the browser changes though, although from what i've read the browser does consume a little bit more power in the new firmware, I think i lasted 15 minutes less on a full charge. Worth it if the browser experience is much better.
I am using the Chrome for Android anyway, much better than the standard browser.

It's 480x800, not 480x840. And One S has 540x960 resolution. U both failed.

It was also a double fail as the phone screen is portrait, its not a TV. so its 720x1280 not 1280x720.
Also in reply to your questions>
1. Use Google Chrome the stock browser is ****E!
2. Use BBC news widget.
hey guys.
I really like boot animations and having nice ones.
I've found a few on here that the concept is nice for (Blue Helix and Havoc from FreeGS3 thread) but they are very low res and don't look good in the phone.
I know how to make my own but all of my old boot animations are for lower resolution phones and wouldn't stretch out well.
what other similar resolution phones/tablets have boot animations that could be used for our phones and look HD?
any already available?
thanks.
I believe ROM tool box has a few.
