Hi Folks
I'm very new to all this stuff. I have rooted my Desire and installed
[ROM] RunnymedeMod007 (Sense 3.5 | GB 2.3.5 | A2SD+) [STOCK | CM7] [v09 | 29/12
The Rom itself seems to be working ok but I get the following problems:
When trying to load applications it says it has stopped unexpectedly and is asking me to click force close.
Also, when turning phone on I get the message System UIDs Inconsistent - UIDs on the system are inconsistent. You need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable.
Any help would be great as I'm lost.
Wipe dalvik cache and cache. Run a full wipe before flashing new rom?

hey guys
i've rooted my mobile in order add language pack...
i started to see an annoying notificaton after rooting and flasing new room (modaco r3 )
everytime i try to install an app i get this message 'insufficient storage'
Is that has to do with the rooting ? or the room ?
It will be to do with the way in which you flashed.
Did you do a full wipe in Recovery Mode before flashing the MCR ROM?
By doing this, you will not only delete the dalvik cache but also your download cache.
Just installed
[ROM] StarBurst Froyo HTC 2.29.405 [17 Feb] Stable Data2SD | Unlimited memory | Stock
I'm now having problems with Market downloads, messages like "package file is invalid".
I've tried wiping the dalvik cache as per the FAQ but that only allowed me to install one more app. Funny thing is that the problem developed over time, with the first few Market apps installing trouble-free. Any ideas? I seem to be unable to post this at the StarBurst forum.
I´ve had the same problem and wiped my Dalvik-Cache but now my phone doesn´t want to boot :/
I just read at StarBurst´s blog that I shouldn´t have done it, but there´s no solution given for what to do if I´ve mistakenly done it.
Is there anything I can do now without deleting all of my data? It´s not important to save my personal data like contacts or something else, but I wouldn´t like to loose my app data
tried this rom but wasn't that good
I haven't had any problems w/ Market on StarBurst 1.3.3.4 or when I was with 1.3.3.5.
First, save all of your SD card data onto your PC hard drive, then do the 3 wipes: wipe data, cache and dalvik-cache. If you have synched your contacts and calendar, good. If you haven't, do it before wiping. ALso, did you guys partition properly? Remember the sequence: Partition the FAT32 portion first, then the EXT4. Starburst works best on EXT4, and won't work well with EXT1 or EXT2.
Do a nandroid backup, execute the 3 wipes, repartition your SD card using GParted, then reflash StarBurst. If you're wary of re-installing every app you've ever installed, then download TitaniumBackup from either Market or AppBrain on your PC, then save the APK into your SD card, then use File Explorer to launch it. TitaniumBackup backs up all your apps and settings, so you won't have to manually reinstall everything later on.
Wiping dalvik cache is on the list of donts.. Once wiped the kernel hangs at boot looking for dex files..it's a well known issue..
The recommended method to remove dalvik cache is to delete it in titanium.. Or with adb while system is running..
The market file parse error as mentioned is again on the list of faqs which should have been read.. It is because the system partition is full.. The solution too is on my site. It is to convert the W version script you have now, into the latest X script which had that issue solved..
Guys, read the faq page on my site when you have issues, or preferably before you have them.. If you have rom specific problems, post them in Starburst thread where experienced people can see it and respond..If you're unable to post there, tough..

Hello,
I have rooted my Desire Z 5months ago and used CyanogenMod7.
The last 8 days I have been using ICS (Andromadus Audacity Beta 1).
Today the phone freezes and stuck in boot animation after restarting.
In ClockModRecovery 5.8.1.0 I wanted to clean /cache but all I get was "error formatting /cache".
Then I tried the following things:
- full wipe -> error
- restore a backup -> "error formatting /system"
- full wipe via bootloader (vol-down & power)
- install audacity again
- removing battery and waiting
I have tried the above things in all possible orders.
Then, after removing the battery and waiting for 10minutes I could format /system/ and restore a backup from CyanogenMod 7.
Now everything is just working fine again.
But what was the problem?
How can I avoid this in the future? (It took me ~40minutes to "fix" it)
Is this a hardware problem?
Thank you
Tobi
ps: Thank you again for your great work and great support forum!
Tried superwhipe?
Sent from my Vision using XDA
No. What I have found is that it does the same as "format /system; format /cache".
But the reason for my post was not to find a solution (as it is working now), but instead *understand* what the problem was.
anyway thank you!
I've installed the CyanogenMod 11.0 | KitKANG | PRE-ALPHA | v0.8 rom on my htc desire, but I can't install the google play store.
With GApps it isn't installed on my phone. And when I've installed the play store (4.5.10) manually by an .apk I've downloaded, I am getting the message 'google play store has stopped working'. Does anyone has the same problem with this rom? Or a possible fix for this problem.
thx

So you installed the gapps but they won't appear?
Use a file explorer to navigate to system/app. Are the gapps there? Do they have rw-r--r-- permissions?
How did you partition your sd-card? Do you use a partition?

gapps won't appear in system/app.
First tried with the zip that is provided with the rom. Then google play services is installed, but not the play store.
I've also tried other gapps: CM11 and gapps from beanstalk rom. Then no apps are installed.
I've partitioned my sdcard: ext4 1024mb
I've used the following sequence for the installation:
wipe cache/dalvik
wipe battery stats
wipe data/factory reset
flash rom
install a2sd
flash gapps
My first installation I flashed the rom en gapps directly. At the first start I had low memory message, but I managed to install a2sd.
But I tought that gapps was not correctly installed due to the low memory.
Or do I have to completely format the sdcard => repartition ext4?
any luck resolving this?
I got the same problem...

With which rom are you flashing gapps? And btw our system partition is app. 800mb. The free space you were talking about is internal storage.
Whatever ROM you flash it installs in system partition , where in system we have about 800 mb free space but its not always we get 800mb because some in-build system files are included so flashing for example miui x.x.x any version we have about 700 mb size of miui official ROMs where as custom ROMs with 350-400 mb approx. So the difference is miui rom has its own system so when you flash miui through adb (not recovery) it will reset even system partition to its ROM so firmware problems can be solved using this and when you flash through recovery it doesn't matter much to the system. So comming to custom ROMs as said it takes about 400mb approx. memory and for gapps you should only use pico or nano from opengapps.org which has approx size of 80-150mb and can be flashed without error . or download Gapps aroma package and select what you want in Gapps to be included (for advanced users) . So for now just download pico and flash and after that manually download google apps that you want from play store ..
But I am flashing with pico package

Its not about internal space!! system partition is completely different and reserves many things including your recovery fastboot blocks (ext4/) file system which takes space . you might heard that when buying phone advertisers or specs says it has 8GB ROM but you get 5.60 Gb approx. So these partition blocks are coded with specific sizes so you install ROM .. !!! Custom ROM with Gapps pico or some nano... I have used including Gapps aroma package .. With all sorts of custom ROM ihve used ..Any how I wanted to know what's problem with Gapps pico !!
Sorry for my poor knowledge.here is that debug log

Yeah ..IDK what went wrong.
Just take back up of your data .. I promise you will be able to flash Gapps pico successfully using this method
Copy custom ROM to SD card and Gapps pico too
Note: Gapps pico should be only downloaded in opengapps.org for "arm" architecture and 6.0 or depending on ROM..
After copying
Just goto twrp
Goto wipe there select advanced
I'm advanced select these..
1. Dalvik/art cache
2. Cache
3. Data
4. Internal
Remember all are mandatory to be checked than swipe right it will be wiped.
Now open install section select external SD card
Firstly flash ROM you wanted to flash .. After flashing
Go select Gapps Pico version and just flash by swiping to right..
That's it reboot now after optimization apps.. Setup wizard and done
If any problem feel free to ask..!!

Internal memory is not mandatory and mean while you forgot to mention system. That must be wiped for not getting this error.

Nothing will be gone. Twrp has separate partition and only the rom will be wiped out.
As i read your gapps debug log. I noticed that you did not wipe the data that's the problem .. which lead to dirty installation.. To do clean fresh installation just wipe data dalvik cache , cache if wanted everything to be neat and clean install wipe off internal

Did you ever wiped system.. Like when you enter twrp .. There will be a pop up screen asking to keep system partition read only or rewritable like thing.. In your case just swipe with mount r/w system than wipe out system.. With ROM everything will be gone INCLUDING twrp
