Hi Guys,
I am having little problem here with my desire hd, Currently I am running Cyanogen mod 7 latest release. My phone keep enabling Car mode. Every 5 minutes its shows message that Car mode enabled. I tried to kill application and tried to remove from system apps but still the same.
I tried changing to other ROMs such as MIUI but still getting same problem, even MIUI doesn't have Car mode but I am keep seeing this Car mode message in notification.
It would be really great if anyone from you guys can help me
Thanks
Jack
Edit: I used Full Wipe and format memory card. But still getting this issue. Any suggestion will be appreciated.
Try to use 'Autostarts' app, maybe this helps you
I tried using Autostarts app but I can't see any process starting with Car mode. Because I don't have any Car mode installed on my device.
Is there any other way ?
Cheers
I'm having issue just like u , but only when I put in my external charger. The rom recognize my external charger as car mode .
Maybe you guys should full wipe and flash the rom again.. Strange though.. it notifies even though no car mode in the rom..
Edit: I have installed google car on the phone and its much better then htc one.. Try em..

Try cleaning the USB port and the cable connectors thoroughly.
Guys, I have tried reinstalling Cyanogen Mod 7 with Wipe Cache & User Data and Dalvik Cache. After that I didn't connect charger or USB Cable for 12 hours even that it started showing me Car mode enable.
So I don't think so its problem with USB Connection or Charger because if that It won't show me anything with fresh installation.
Any ideas?
Cheers
FYI: I did backup for my memory card and format my memory card in case if its showing because of some app in memory card but still same issue.

I was getting this problem too. As soon as I connected my phone to the charger after installing cm7 it would recognize the charger as car mode. here is what i did to fix it
Recovery - 3.0.0.6
Rom Manager - 3.x.x.x
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
mounts and storage -->format boot, format system, format data, format cache, format sd-ext
advanced --> wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats
Installed cm7
advanced - fix permissions
restart - fix permissions in ROM Manager.
That fixed the problem for me
One more thing "do not install gapps immediately after installing cm7"
first reboot ur phone, setup ur wireless, makes sure u r not in a country where some market apps are blocked (in some countries u cant find gmail or maps or youtube on the market. If you are in such a country install market enabler) After that reboot the phone to recovery. Install gapps and configure when you reboot the phone.
Hopefully this should solve ur problem too
Hi Guys,
Just to let you know that I tried full wipe. But still its same problem I am not using Wall charger, just using USB Cable from PC. And it shows car mode even its not connected to charging. Tried full wipe on MIUI and CM7.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Edit: I did full wipe, formate memory card and fresh installation of ROM but when its boot first time I can see that car mode enabled in the notification. There are no apps on the phone nothing on memorycard. I have installed miui which has no Car mode also tried same with CM7.

this is a bit late and you might have the problem solved but if you havent got it right yet .. try doing factory reset after installing .. another thing that you can do is install cm7 but dont install gapps.. download market enabler (only if gmail .etc doesnt show up in ur market) and install gmail and other google stuff tht u need. I dont think car mode is included in cm7 .. its the later gapps install that includes it (i think) if i am wrong ..please correct me .
EDIT: Are you installing cm7 via ROM Manager? If you are then i suggest you restart your phone in recovery and do it via clockworkmod .. again do not install gapps.
ANd if you have got the problem solved please share it here so that others might find it helpful
I had this a couple of months a go, posted it here somewhere. I found it was cwm, as this was the only thing that I had changed previously. I installed 3.0.0.6 again and was fine. I'm sure it was a bug in the then latest cwm, cannot remember the number. But have a look at that!!

in car panel go to settings and disable auto turn on .. see if that helps.. helped me

Try to downgrade to stock Rom.
Than unroot your device and place it in S-ON.
Remake root operations and S-Off Eng-OFF steps.
flash new cooked ROM (I suggest you mine) and it could go well.
Hey guys, got a strange problem here. I'm running MIUI-XJ 2.3.30 A2SD.
Had 8 apps to update via Google Play and 31mb internal left (over 600mb on sd-ext, too). In the middle of updating the apps I've got a Google Play crash followed by few other fc's, phone said my internal memory is too low to operate and such - so I tried the most obvious fix, which is of course rebooting the phone.
That was a mistake, apparently. Phone will not boot anymore - goes through the bootscreen and gets stuck on the yellow MIUI splash. It's not a bootloop, the phone just freezes and the only thing I can do is battery removal. Tried booting it up with no sd card as well, nothing seems to help though.
Is there anything I can do except full wipe via recovery? I had some important sms and spent quite a bit of time customizing the desktop, I'm not to keen on doing that again.
Is it possible to delete some apps via adb or something like that? Or is there a point in trying to install the rom again on top of my system?
Thanks in advance, help really appreciated!
Try clearing dalvik cache and cache from recovery and then boot. Thereafter clear some space or change your a2sd scheme.
Thanks for the answer! Makes me feel silly I did not think of that myself lol, sounds like an obvious solution.
Problem is, it still does not seem to help though - wiped /cache and dalvik-cache on data, sd-ext and system - still nothing, same problem persists. Stuck at MIUI bootanimation.
Any other ideas? I'm really kind of desperate to recover the data.
- Take a nandroid backup first. So you can start over if need be.
Some things to try
- Only flash ROM and see if it helps.
- Wipe data. Flash ROM fresh. Install Titanium Backup. With TB locate nandroid on sdcard and try to extract your data. Maybe restoring the launcher and messaging will do the trick. Not sure . Try. You can always start over.
- Fix permissions in recovery
There's an app called AROMA Filemanager that can be started from recovery and allows you to modify all phone partitions, all you need is to mount them before starting the app. Here it is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25911276
Tried flashing the ROM again on top of my system - no effect whatsoever, still gets stuck at bootanimation. Also, tried the permission fix as well as the RMD recovery "apk uid mismatches" fix. Still nothing.
Going to give the AROMA a try, having some problems right now though - using RMD recovery, no touch support. Trying to flash 4ext touch from fastboot somehow!
Thank you. Will keep you updated.
UPDATE//
Managed to get the AROMA up and running, deleted few apps from /data/apps, nothing to delete from /system really. /cache is cleared, so are all 3 dalvik-cache folders.
System still does not want to start.
Any ideas what might have happened? Seems like I'm running out of options and will have to do a clear install, after all.
You probably damaged some important system files so tho phone can't load system. The best solution is to restore some nand backup if you have, or to do a full wipe and start from scratch.

If that was the case, reflashing the ROM on top of my current system should fix the problem, while it didn't - right? Also, I find it hard to believe that "important system files" could have been damaged during routine Google Play apps update...
Than a full wipe and fresh install is inevitable...

Alright, my t989 is currently on CM10 nightly, and every time after I downloaded the update zip directly into my phone by CMupdater, it reboot into recovery and just won't do anything.
then I upgrade my CWM5.o.X to 6.0.2.7touch (by just installing the zip), and now it freezes when formatting cache, restoring cache and any other activities related to "cache". So I failed flashing cm10.1 because I can't even do a factory reset or wipe cache.
I tried to use CMupdater again after restoring to the CM10 nightly that i used to use, and guess what.....nothing changed. It still doesn't install new zip automatically after reboot into recovery.
Any solution to my problems? I am losing faith.

Ok, try this
From inside Android Download ROM MAnager from the market and open and grant Root
Now tap top-most option when it opens and install CWM recovery that way
I have never trusted updater that try to script the install and auto restart and do everything for you.
BE SURE YOU HAVE A GAPPS INSTALL ZIP TOO BEFORE RESTARTING TO RECOVERY IF YOU WANT TO HAVE GAPPS ON FIRST BOOT [not mandatory but most people then wonder why they don't have the market and cant log-in to google account though you can technically flash gapps zip anytime you wish]
Instead try the manual way go to mounts and storage and wipe /system and /data [may not need to wipe data but suggested to minimize possible tiny issues]
go back to main menu wipe cache and dalvick cache [in advanced and it may take a second as it sill come back stating /sd-ext doesn't exist but should only be a second not more than say 10].
Then tap the install from SDCard
tap to find your downloaded zip and tap it to install
Now do the samething but this time find the gapps zip you downloaded
When done restart the device and wait as long boot ahead [about 5 min the usual when it says android is upgrading and goes through the number of apps you have].

Thanks for the help! I already tried using Teamwin wipe and it works much better than cwm....I think i am gonna leave cwm then
What is the proper way to format a galaxy nexus? I want to clear everything possible and start fresh in an attempt to solve the abysmal write speeds I've been getting recently and I don't want to wind up bricking the thing in the process since I know certain partitions store the boot loader and more.
Other attempts to fix the write speed including fstrim, changing the mount command to enable trimming deleted files automatically, completely filling all free space with zeros then removing it, and none have helped yet. It gets approximately 0.10-0.15KB/s on random write with androbench, 2.0-5.5MB/s for sequencial write. I've never had anything less than 12GB free space, except when I tried filling all the free space
I want to format before reinstalling cyanogenmod and I understand there are risks involved that could brick my device so any instruction for what should and should not be touched would be greatly appreciated.
You need custom recovery installed (twrp or cwm). I have twrp. You need from recovery, for example twrp, wipe cache, dalvik cache, data and system from advanced wipe menu. After that, you should put in queue rom (which you are installing in zip format), then gapps(not all rom's need gapps, read install description for current rom) and custom kernel (not necessarily). After you just swipe on menu to proceed with installation and thats it

Make sure yu don't wipe "sdcard data" (there's a difference in System Data and SDCard Data). Marco207 mentioned that yu will have to wipe System Data. Rest yu may wipe anything, in fact, everything in case yu want a whole fresh ROM.
I went into recovery mode and wiped everything clean\reset everything, and then installed the last stable CM for LG G3 D855, but it keeps crashing all the time. I can't get past the wi-fi connection thing when you first start the phone. Though I can open "settings", but that's about it. It keeps crashing to black screen and going back to the first page when you first turn the phone on - where you choose language.
How can I fix this?
P.S.
Is it possible the last install corrupted something? Internal memory? RAM?
Now I managed to get past all of it, but it says memory is going low and there is not enough space for the system, while there is 24.5GB!
What can I do?
(all the apps keep crashing)

sounds like one of your partitions may be too small were they modified and did you install the right rom?
*edit*
to be clear make sure you are flashing the right rom for your phone
wipe system / data / cache / dalvik
flash cyanogenmod and micro gapps
wipe cache / dalvik
reboot system
tell me if problem persists.
if so which gapps did you install, try switching to micro version if the problem is system partition that should fix it.
Thanks. I tried that but it didn't work.
How to I change the partitions?
Fixed by installing stock ROM. Looks awful, though, so I'll try moving to cm13 again...
