Hub Root
Hi,
I'm also an owner of LG Optimus HUB and I'm also intersted of phone rooting and flashing.
I have noticed that CyanogenMod have released a nigthly version of their ROM.
Thanks!
Just found your thread thru Google, because I wanted to see if there is already a LG Optimus Hub sub-forum here on XDA.
There is a same thread here with all the info you might need (my posts are relevant )!
Next time use the search function!
Hope I helped!
Thanks yani2000 for the link. I'll keep this thread up for any news or whatsoever regards to our device. Thanks again.
nothing's worked so far!
Well I started with superoneclick, it told me I didn't have any drivers and I chose the "force driver's option" before this the phone wasn't popping up when I hooked up the USB. It just show's on the phone "USB debugging connected". After that I tried running superoneclick and after starting the adb server it hangs up and dies. This is on win7 64bit with admin rights. I then downloaded the apk for gingerbreak and that just hung there for about 20+ minutes saying it would reboot if successful. After that I found a guide on how to install adb drivers, but after I run the "adb shell" command it tells me my device is not found. I uninstalled the drivers from my PC and i'm getting the same "device not found while trying to install adb drivers". Oh before uninstalling my forced drivers from superoneclick I tried unlockroot from unlockroot.com. It also said my device was not found. Not sure what the hell to do next! hope all this info helps you help me!
.
Thread moved. Would advise you to read forum rules and post in correct section.
just a stupid question, how can I go into Recovery Mode? I tried holding down Home key + Power button to no avail after shutting down the phone...
Recovery mode should be volume down+home key+power
But if you don't have a custom recovery on the phone all it will do is a factory reset.

Did you try that tutorial I posted in that another thread?
Here is the link to the thread I'm talking about (also posted few posts up by me).
And here is the direct link to SuperOneClick ROOT Tutorial!
Please report back how it went in that other thread!
Thank you!
Thanks yani! My phone was successfully rooted!
SuperOneClick no longer requires alternate ADB
I just rooted my LG Hub (or E510f, or Univa) with SuperOneClick 2.3.3: only connecting the phone, USB debugging, no mounting SD. No alternate ADB. Just SuperOneClick.

Hello. I ave ordered a Motorola Defy which should arrive in a couple of days from now. I'm pretty sure that it will be running on Android 2.1. So in all preparedness for the rooting, I have installed the Motorola Drivers and SuperOneClick V1.9.5(with driver pack).
So my question is, is all of this as simple as checking the USB debugging option, unmounting the SD card and clicking the root button. Sorry, I'm new to this stuff. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
-restart your phone while keeping the volume-up button pressed. This will get your phone into bootloader mode.
-Connect your phone to your computer via USB. Its bootloader drivers will get automatically installed.
-Restart the computer again and also restart your phone normally into Android this time.
-Connect your phone to your computer and let its normal drivers get automatically installed.
-Make sure USB debugging is DISABLED on your phone in Settings > Applications > Development.
-Launch SuperOneClick on your computer by right-clicking on it and selecting ‘Run as Administrator’.
-Click ‘Root’. It will say ‘Waiting for device…’
-Now ENABLE USB debugging on your phone in Settings > Applications > Development.
-Wait patiently till you see a prompt on your computer saying ‘Device is rooted’.
-Reboot your phone and you’re done!
All the best
What about the new version of SuperOneClick i.e. 1.9.5
I've read the same instructions on addictive tips. And they suggested an older version of SuperOneClick since it was written sometime ago. I've heard that there is an easier way of doing it with the newer versions of SuperOneClick. That's what I wanted to know.
I could not root my Defy with the newest version of superoneclick I used version SuperOneClickv1.5.5-ShortFuse the newest could not root my phone. You can try but if it does not work then use an older version.
You have to enable USB debugging and set usb connection to charge only, or else ADB cannot connect to your phone. Then press Root and wait till it says your phone is rooted.
Worked for me on my 2 Motorola android phones.
(owner of Milestone XT720 and Defy)
I use v1.7.0...and it works like a charm
Thanks
Thanks folks. I have a self of calmness in my mind now. I now have both the versions of SuperOneClick (1.7 and 1.9.5). I'll try it with 1.7 first. Can't wait to get my hands on the device tomorrow. Thanks again folks.
I've read that it is a must to unmount sd card. How do i do that?
Edit: Nevermind. Found it under settings>sd card

I can't post links so just go to tech journal com and search for root Motorola.
This just came out today, hope it helps. I'm going to try it and will report back.
Been looking for a while for something like this. It seems like there is nothing to it, at least going by other stuff I've seen.

I rooted my device 3 days ago (thats when i recieved my Defy) in all the phones ive rooted and all the rooting i ever did, i never bricked a phone.
No ive used the newest version and i did not work and no brick either.
For Android v2.1 I used 'z4root' without any problems. In v2.2.2 z4root don't work, then I use SOC 1.9.1 (for root) & 1.9.5 (for 'non market apps')
Hey guys,
I am facing this prob. for quite some time. Whenever I use flashtool and connect my Xperia Arc in flash mode, the computer hangs without any warning and I jus have to restart it. FlashTool says that drivers for the device is not correctly installed.
Pl. help me with regard to this.
I am presently running CyanogenMod 9 Nightly version.
Flashtool: 0.9.8.0

pls post it to right place -____-
Don't be so mean. Have you ever got into despair when having a problem? Have you though that the forum name is not the most relevant one? By the way, where should a question like this be posted?!
TO answer the question... it is not easy so solve. You will need to clean your PC of all possible traces of old drivers. To do that, with the phone disconnected, go to Device Manager on PC (google if you don't know how). Then, remove any possible references to your phone using the information from here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff184583.aspx
After that, install Sony PC Sync software. Follow the steps. At the end, it should tell you that you should connect phone.
Everything should work now (your phone will be finally re-discovered).
Before you do that, also try to disable Debugging on the phone and set the PC connection to MTP.
Good Luck!

Preferably on the flashtool thread, failing that the Q&A section, after trying to solve the issue instead of creating a new thread/post after the first failed attempt at something.

Try reinstalling drivers from flash tool/drivers

So about a week ago I rooted my zenfone 2. Ive NEVER rooted a device before so I though it would be cool.
A few days after I had rooted my phone it requested to update. I updated my device and since then it has been stuck on the bootloader. I've tried doing factory resets and everything I could think of. I have looked up guides on how to flash it but none seem to help. I tried doing the adb or w/e it is but for some reason my computer doesn't read my device anymore so when i go to look up device via adb device non can be found. Any help would be grateful. I am new to this and its a really bad experience so far. Mostly my fault. Anyways any help would be great. Thanks in advance. Asus zenfone 2 ze551ml
Note i have downloaded the usb drivers from asus. which are zip files. Not exactly sure how to install, and my phone doesnt get picked up by my computer. (ive tried using different usb ports.)

Thanks a lot for reply! I did everything it said and worked. Thank you so much! the intel driver you linked me finally got my computer to read my phone. That was probably my main problem.
I am trying to root the LG G# running on 5.0.1. I have tried every [email protected]#$%^ way and I am pissed. I tried it this way ..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197 , one way script way.with the LGoneclickroottool or whatever the name is and it gets all the way to 100% but the Root checker app says its not rooted. I encountered a few errors first it was the PTP ,it would get stuck at 90% then I switched to MTP and it reached 100%.
I noticed that everytime I unplug the phone or switch between MTP or PTP the phone makes a sound and it says its installing drivers again. Could that be the problem?
I need some help with this , I have been trying for 3 fu$#@%^ hours and I cant get it to work.

Seems your in a pickle.. I used this site and it worked http://lgg3root.com/
Also plug it in and if you are PC savvy look in the device manager and see if its listed. If it is remove it (it may be listed as unknown device). then unplug the phone reinstall the driver then plug it back in and try the root method again. Hope this helps! sorry no one else is bothering to even give a helping hand.

I didnt run into an error or anything. i was able to follow step by step the lgg3root website with no problem. And when it says done and i take the battery off like the guy says and turn my phone on Supersu does not appear on my apps or root checker say that it has been rooted. Im about to throw this **** against the floor.
And yeah ,nobody else has given me any help either. [email protected]#$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know how this happenned, but I bricked my phone. When I try to start it, it says cache/data/etc missing. I tried the MEGA UNBRICK guide found here, but it did not help, phone does not show up in the tool. I can still connect it to the computer and detect it with fastboot, ADB doesn't see the phone. Please help, thanks for replies.

You may have to try repeatedly, using method 2. I have read about it working after a few repeated attempts.
