Hey everyone,
I'm barely getting any juice out of the Galaxy Nexus and I was wondering if this is normal. I'm on Android Revolution HD 2.1.2 on the Jame Bond kernel oc'd to 1.4GHz and heavily undervolted. I mean I know its overclocked but that little battery?

Overclocking runs the battery down faster. That's just life.

That's worse than a non rooted gnex lol

Why would you want to oc anyway? There's nothing bogging the GN down.

As you are on a custom rom it could be down to a few factors.
1. overclocking is generating more heat and your battery is dying faster
2. bugs or issues with battery life on the rom you flashed
3. kernel is causing the cpu never to go into sleep mode
4. badly written application causing the phone to stay awake much more than it should.
Two hours screen on time isn't the worst I have ever seen..

I would think that since Google plus and Facebook account for 14% of that part of your problem is there. And your kernel. Undervolting probably just offsets the GPU @ 384 mhz. And overclocking seems unnecessary if that is your typical usage.
I was getting 4+, almost 5 hours display time on cellular data earlier this week in 8-9 hour rundown and my kernel is completely stock. If I had uv'ing I probably could've cleared 5 hours display.

That battery life is nothing to sneeze at. It's pretty good considering the OC settings and running apps imo... As long as you have a charger handy I wouldn't worry about the battery that much. You have the phone equivalent of a Porsche - no need to drive it at 25 mph to save on gas mileage

varies from phone to phone.
you need a kernel that has the values for overclocking.
Well, the furthest I've ever seen a GNex do was 1844.2 MHz, on both cores.
But as far as I'm aware, the furthest you can go with, by downloading a kernel from here, is 1650 MHz, with imoseyon's kernel.
I tried overclocking my Gnex before - it worked fine but as you already asked: Why? I have not find any reason to stay overclocked. In my opinion everything already is very fluent.

Yes, I noticed that a few hours later, after posting ^^ But then again, he asked for stable, my GNex was literally melting and constantly crashing, after I flashed Glados... (Back cover got replaced...)

No one can tell you what the highest stable overclock for your phone will be. Sure, they can tell you what their individual hardware can achieve, but that does not extrapolate into what your phone can or cannot achieve. There's normal variance from phone to phone even if they're configured exactly the same.
Also, this is one of those things that, if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be doing. Not having a firm grasp on what your doing and the consequences thereof is a fast and easy way to end up with a paperweight.

I agree with najaboy, if you don't know how, don't. You'll probably break something.
Look up how to do it instead so you learn.

I've had a strangely smooth and good experience on Franco's kernel on cm9 with the conservative governor on the stock frequencies. Scrolling seems less jittery and the battery is excellent. It must priorities the threads differently than other governors.
I am on 196 512 gpu. Easily getting over 4 hours screen on time close to 5 on my vzw nexus.

Franco kernel on CM9
I was trying Franco kernel on CM9, but I noticed that System settings would FC when I went into Storage. Thought maybe they aren't compatible. If you've been using that combo for a while with no other problems, maybe I'll give it another shot. Are you pretty confident with it?

Dude, that's absolutely normal. The screen is basically the biggest power consumer. My screen takes usually around 60%. It all depends how you use your phone... If you let it sit around and don't use it for over a day, you'll notice your battery accounts for a smaller percentage of overall battery consumption. If you spend over 4 hours browsing the web non-stop, the phone will run out of juice in that time period, and your screen will probably show its taking up something close to 80 percent. Which makes sense...

Yeah, not much to do about the basic fact that the Gnex's battery, simply put, sucks.

Hey guys I'm getting four hour screen time on my audio super battery. On three g and no GPS wfi or BT . Is that the average? Was kinda of expecting more. I did do as their instructions said so wanted to know. Thanks
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I have the hyperion 3800 extended battery, I get 4 hours on screen and still have 10-15% left(Around 15 hour day). I keep LTE and GPS on and have brightness set to auto. Using PA + Franco milestone 5. That is my average, but I heard the seidio is better so I dunno.
I get two and a half on 2100mah
Pitiful compared to my old eptouch tho
Weird I am on bamf jb . Did you do anything train your battery or stuff?

I don't get much better time from the Seidio 3800 than I do from the standard extended life battery. Not enough to carry that big block thing around with me. I got it with my phone bundle so it didn't cost any more.

Same here. Stock gsm battery. Stock rom. Trinity kernel, but I got the same on screen time with Franco too.
Maybe OP is running cdma?
can someone post a link, for the trinity kernel, and stock rom for vzw gnex? I want my nexus fully ICS stock, rooted/unlocked, but still on stock rom, and will try trinity kernel.

So next week I'm going on a road trip and don't want to have to worry about my battery life.... So what Is the best kernel to use on my Verizon Nexus?
And I'm not an android noob, but I am a complete noob to ov/uv(ing) the kernel..... what Is recommended?
I right now am using Xenon HD and Franco kernel nightly 361
Also my processor governor is set to interactive
I want to use Spotify and access my phone to play random games.
thanks so much in advance!

Maybe not the answer you're looking for but why don't you get a car charger and/or an extra battery.

Haha dude I dont see why wouldnt you look cool with your Gnex. When I was out the other day wih a friend and some chicks and friend with iPhone 5, guess what phone impressed the girls? All of them got 4 or 4S and when I put out my Gnex, they were so impressed by it, even only by design and size of screen. My sister said that she doesnt like iphone 5 because it looks like her tv remote.
You cant do anything much to get much battery life since our phone has much bigger screen. If you want to play games while on trip, get your batteries ready. For myself, one battery cycle is enough since I listen only to music so I can get 10 hours.
If you are running Franco (Which you said you were) open up the Franco app, go into Power Modes, load up the Presets and use the BeastlyBattery, also make sure you turn off Auto Sync and turn your screen brightness to the lowest setting that you can handle. All of those will get you better battery life than playing with voltages all day.
Uv wont help too.
