Dude, that's absolutely normal. The screen is basically the biggest power consumer. My screen takes usually around 60%. It all depends how you use your phone... If you let it sit around and don't use it for over a day, you'll notice your battery accounts for a smaller percentage of overall battery consumption. If you spend over 4 hours browsing the web non-stop, the phone will run out of juice in that time period, and your screen will probably show its taking up something close to 80 percent. Which makes sense...

Yeah, not much to do about the basic fact that the Gnex's battery, simply put, sucks.

Okay I'm nearing the end of my first day with my new nexus. 5h 23m on battery with about 20 minutes of in car charging halfway through the day. I'm currently at 14% with 2 hours of screen time this seems pretty bad compared to my older Droid 2, will the run time improve over time?
I'm a average to heavy user so I was considering the extended battery but it wasn't in stock at the store. If anyone who owns an OEM extended battery or the seidio 3800mah could give me some insight on whether they think it is worth the extra money.
Thank-you in advance.

Stay on 3G until you need LTE.
Your Droid 2 was 3G only.

BAMF has a widget as well, that can also be used with Tasker.
I searched BAMF on the market and didn't see anything what should I search for or is it an off market app?

Haha dude I dont see why wouldnt you look cool with your Gnex. When I was out the other day wih a friend and some chicks and friend with iPhone 5, guess what phone impressed the girls? All of them got 4 or 4S and when I put out my Gnex, they were so impressed by it, even only by design and size of screen. My sister said that she doesnt like iphone 5 because it looks like her tv remote.
You cant do anything much to get much battery life since our phone has much bigger screen. If you want to play games while on trip, get your batteries ready. For myself, one battery cycle is enough since I listen only to music so I can get 10 hours.
If you are running Franco (Which you said you were) open up the Franco app, go into Power Modes, load up the Presets and use the BeastlyBattery, also make sure you turn off Auto Sync and turn your screen brightness to the lowest setting that you can handle. All of those will get you better battery life than playing with voltages all day.
Uv wont help too.

Thanks for the reply. As a heavy business user making and receiving 40+ calls a day (a lot of them 20 minutes plus) is why I ask. I have the HTC ONE XL on AT&T now and I burn through the battery by mid afternoon and with no removable battery it's very inconvenient to say the least. I've been thinking about buying the note 2 because of it's battery size and thinking it could be more productive because of it's screen size and software for documents etc...
Thanks again

Google Now on?
All Location services on?
Edge? 3G? LTE? Wifi?
Screen brightness?
Google now and the location services in google maps are HUGE battery users, but I never see if people use them or not. All these 7h, 1day battery life people are NEVER on LTE as seen in their screen shots, its ALWAYS Wifi (which uses less battery) or i don't even see a data indicator at all.
All these variables makes these battery claims baseless. Case in point: my roomate turns off data on her Galaxy Ace II, she gets 6 days battery life.

I'm a power user
I have my phone in my hand all day.
I also use maps and navigation often it's rare for me to get over 4 hours of screen time.

I guess under the perfect conditions this phone could get 10 hours. I've never done it though.

I appreciate you guys chiming in. I have everything running full blast in the background as I don't want to have to manually turn stuff on and off as I use it. I'm just too busy to deal with it. After having a phone that I can't swap batteries in, the note 2 may be the ticket.

What is everyone's best screen on time? Please note if it's on blur or aosp. Thanks!

this thread is kinda pointless. no offense. Without a good kernel for AOSP, blur battery life will destroy aosp. If this was started, 2 maybe 3 months in the future, we might have different result.

Currently for ASOP I'd consider 3 and a half to 4 hours good. On blur maybe 5 to 5 and a half. I've gotten 6+ before but it isn't a common thing.

I work in a building with a terrible signal, so the battery life I get is definitely not as good as some of you guys, but I just can't seem to kill this phone. I'm also on gsm, which apparently eats battery quicker than cdma for some reason. I'm on deadrage 1.2.
I think we may actually get better screen on time than the maxx hd guys. I saw a thread like this and it looked like about 4 hours in a day was typical. Makes you kind of wonder, what DOES get better screen on time than this?

So does any other phone get close to 5 hours screen on time?
Love my RAZR M
I actually sat down and played TD Bloons 5 on my phone this morning straight for 3 hours 15 minutes before I hit 14% battery from a full charge. I had a crappy/no signal the entire time with mobile data on (no wifi). Thought this was interesting. Since living in an apartment that's partially underground (constant poor signal), I've noticed a massive decrease in battery life. I think 3 hours of hardcore gaming under those conditions is pretty impressive!
about 3.5 hours doesn't really get affected by roms it seems
I actually ended up swapping for a note 2 and it blows the m out of the water. After 3 hours of use in the same conditions, I'll have 45% battery on the note

There s no way to increase range of wireless, you can try ak kernel that have better WiFi driver but nothing exceptional. ..
Battery life is related to use, IMHO use app like stamina mode or greenfy is stupid for simple reason: disable data or wireless and force sync is not fix, IMHO don't increase battery life, the only fix is set notification timeout to 1-2 hours and remove stupid app:]
