Hello my friends
I have a Galaxy Nexus phone runs on Android 4.2 Is there a way to increase the strength of the wireless network?
And also is there a way to increase the battery life? Is there a way to detect the health of the battery (Is it time to replace or weakened)?
Thank you

I use an app greenify and it increases battery life immensely

There s no way to increase range of wireless, you can try ak kernel that have better WiFi driver but nothing exceptional. ..
Battery life is related to use, IMHO use app like stamina mode or greenfy is stupid for simple reason: disable data or wireless and force sync is not fix, IMHO don't increase battery life, the only fix is set notification timeout to 1-2 hours and remove stupid app:]

Open up your phone, solder a 6dBi antenna to the wifi antenna.
I like to use Tasker. When my screen is off turn wifi off, wait a minute after the screen has been on to turn back wifi.

Why would you use tasker to do this when this functionality is built into the Os?

Okay I'm nearing the end of my first day with my new nexus. 5h 23m on battery with about 20 minutes of in car charging halfway through the day. I'm currently at 14% with 2 hours of screen time this seems pretty bad compared to my older Droid 2, will the run time improve over time?
I'm a average to heavy user so I was considering the extended battery but it wasn't in stock at the store. If anyone who owns an OEM extended battery or the seidio 3800mah could give me some insight on whether they think it is worth the extra money.
Thank-you in advance.

Stay on 3G until you need LTE.
Your Droid 2 was 3G only.
Is there an application or Widget that can make the process faster or easier?

I use the aokp rom and it has a built in toggle. And your battery life in a lot better than mine lol.

BAMF has a widget as well, that can also be used with Tasker.
I searched BAMF on the market and didn't see anything what should I search for or is it an off market app?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
It is part of the rom.
Or here.

Oh. Well I promised myself I would leave this stock for at least a month but I'll keep that in mind.

Well that's half of your problem. You're on a buggy battery drinking 4.0.2 base.
good day.
Is it really that bad?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Yea it sound's crazy but I am really not able to find the settings for increasing the screen turn off time.
Any help guys ??

Vicious and xenon HD have decent batter life, so does cm10, if you don't want to sacrifice features buy and external batter case, I got mine from cellmac

Dude, that's absolutely normal. The screen is basically the biggest power consumer. My screen takes usually around 60%. It all depends how you use your phone... If you let it sit around and don't use it for over a day, you'll notice your battery accounts for a smaller percentage of overall battery consumption. If you spend over 4 hours browsing the web non-stop, the phone will run out of juice in that time period, and your screen will probably show its taking up something close to 80 percent. Which makes sense...

Right I would say I'm a moderate user I also have a sgs3 and I think I got spoiled with the battery on it

Yeah, not much to do about the basic fact that the Gnex's battery, simply put, sucks.

Problem solved upgraded battery to 2100 for 25 bucks at local store should be bit better now

Also, flash ThatDudeButch's Diet Kernel, which you can easily find over on the Team BAMF forums. I'm getting fantastic battery life using that kernel with BAMF Paradigm.

Maybe not the answer you're looking for but why don't you get a car charger and/or an extra battery.

1) I'm on a bus....
2) I want to look cool (being with iPhone people) and not change my battery 4 times (yet I do have 4 batteries)
I just want to see if there was a better way...

Haha dude I dont see why wouldnt you look cool with your Gnex. When I was out the other day wih a friend and some chicks and friend with iPhone 5, guess what phone impressed the girls? All of them got 4 or 4S and when I put out my Gnex, they were so impressed by it, even only by design and size of screen. My sister said that she doesnt like iphone 5 because it looks like her tv remote.
You cant do anything much to get much battery life since our phone has much bigger screen. If you want to play games while on trip, get your batteries ready. For myself, one battery cycle is enough since I listen only to music so I can get 10 hours.
If you are running Franco (Which you said you were) open up the Franco app, go into Power Modes, load up the Presets and use the BeastlyBattery, also make sure you turn off Auto Sync and turn your screen brightness to the lowest setting that you can handle. All of those will get you better battery life than playing with voltages all day.
Uv wont help too.

Hey guys,i currently own a LG 4X HD,and i started thinking about to buy a Gnex again, but i dont know would this be a huge mistake or not. So i need your thoughts on this.
Have in mind that 4X has:
-A TERRIBLE battery life (srsly tho,2 hours on screen is very very good.)
-Overheating
-Slooow,since i must underclock it to 1ghz and use only 1 core to get 2 hrs screen on. (Pretty sad, since it has 5 of them..)
-Low development section (but devs are good and kudos to them)
-freezes,stuttering sound, seriously considering to eat the phone.
Now,i dont know the pros of Gnex, since i dont remember nothing about it. And im pretty shure X4 has no pros. So please, give me your opinion on this

1. This should be in Q&A section and not in the general section.
2. I don't know nothing about lg 4x HD.
3. Galaxy nexus doesn't get official system updates anymore, since Google dropped the support...
4. Anyway... I recommend galaxy nexus. As it's still powerful and soon maybe it even has working 3.4 kernel...
Well if you are searching for a good battery life i would search elsewhere... While for performance and devs still working on it it's still a good choice for the price you can find it these days
Inviato dal mio Galaxy Nexus utilizzando Tapatalk
Well, the battery life doesnt mean much, such as normal usage does. And system updates also, since X4 got 4.1.2 last. And cmon, its a nexus,it will always be updated.
Sent from my LG-P880 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
From what you said seems like Galaxy Nexus is better phone in overall although I didnt know 4X is that bad. Anyway, if you can get it for not too much money, why not? :good:
It's hard to say really. If you can get one cheap then it's fine. You could also have a look at the Moto G.
