In my Xperia Play launcher I'm seeing duplicates of Crash Bandicoot and a PSXperia title I recently loaded. Any suggestions on removing them?
Read this How can I move games to xperia launcher?
read 3rd post . I think you can edit xml file and delete codes of the games that you don't want to see them in xperia launcher
I appreciate the response, but that doesn't really apply to my situation.
^ It actually does. It is a much easier way of customizing and controlling what appears on your launcher.
Another way to deal with this is by using Titanium Backup. Backup all the duplicate games then uninstall them via Titanium. Then just restore them + their data and you should only have one instance of the game in the launcher.

I dont want the xperia launcher i just want to use android market for downloading apps, can i delete the xperia launcher files, and use the market and phone without problems?
This 2 files:
com.sonyericsson.androidapp.storefront.apk
semcsuite.apk
Thanks.
bad idea
i think you need them
I've deleted both of those, with no problems that I know of. Most of the "com.sonyericsson.*" is gone from my phone, in fact.

Thanks! i will take a look tonight and decide if i finally remove them.
i want to remove them for 2 reasons:
Get games (com.sonyericsson.androidapp.storefront.apk) is constantly running in the background wasting battery and space.
i dont use Xperia launcher (semcsuite.apk) and is taking a icon space in the cell and also wasting space.
safe to remove and won't cause any problems other that not being able to do what those apps do.

Guys, now that i have rooted & updated my Arc with ICS 4.0.4; I had a question about the Performance Assistant application that is embedded in the upgrade.
For now it shows 2 applications added in there i.e. ANT Radio & Facebook for Xperia.
My question is, is there any way more applications can be added to this list ? If yes, then I'd request to know how it can be done.
Since you're rooted, just use Titanium Backup to freeze all the apps you find unnecessary.
Performance Assistant is basically doing the same thing but limited to ANT+ and facebook.
And no, I don't think you can add apps to that list. Like I said, use Titanium Backup to freeze what you don't require or even get rid of those pesky apps.

thanks a lot dude..!
I am completely stock and I have never rooted my phone or done anything other than use Go Launcher Ex up until a month ago. I recently discovered that I don't have to use the TWLauncher but that I can in fact use the regular Launcher on my Epic 4g Touch. So I uninstalled Go Launcher and started using the regular launcher (I'm on FI27 by the way).
The problem is all of my widgets dissapear off of my home screen after each and every reboot (and yes, I wait for Media scanning to complete. Still nothing). This is true for stock widgets and 3rd party widgets. The only issue I've found like this in my Google searches are people that had their apps/widgets moved to their SD card. Mine are not. I'm completely stumped. I really don't want to use the TW launcher and as much as I like the flexibility of Go Launcher EX I really really like the smoothnes and simplicity of the standard launcher and would hate to have to go back either of the other ones.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to do a wipe simply because I am really lazy and don't want to have to reinstall my apps again, but if you think that is necassary please recommend the best way to make the app download and reinstallation as quick as possible for my lazy behind.
Thanks!
App Backup & Restore from play store will backup the apps but not data. There are similar apps for backing up sms and call logs too.

So I'm guessing from your reply that you either A: Have not heard of this issue and therefore do not know of a fix or B: You have heard of it and the fix is to restore my device.
I'll give it another day or two to see if anyone else has come across this and found a fix but I guess I'm gonna have to try a wipe. I just hope that works.
Thank you for your suggestions sir and I will start researching further to try and make my restore as fast as possible.
So recently I had to reflash my Xperia Play, and I've found that my PSOne Classics titles that once appeared in the Downloads list on the Playstation Mobile app no longer appear at all. To make things worse, they don't seem to be added to my Playstation Network account on any other Sony Media portal, as I tried a suggestion from Playstation support to try get them through Media Go, yet it was going to make me repurchase them as I did not have them on that downloads list either. I guess my question is has anyone else lost their PSOne titles and managed to get them back, and if so, could you share your method to do so?
I did reflash to the Lupus Kernel and am running the ICS stock rom I got off the Xperia Play development board, if that helps at all. Also, I did try backing these apps up with Titanium Backup Pro before I reflashed my phone, but upon trying to restore them, the app just loops. The backups themselves are usually only a few bytes big as well....

You've just answered your own problem. Your on the "unofficial ics" go back to stock GB and you can have your games back.
Hi, I just got my ZL two days back and I notice there is a slight battery drain. I've checked on the running apps and there are a bunch of running apps which I do not use (eg. Facebook, Sociallife ... etc). Does anyone know if there is a way to remove or stop these apps from running?
Also, I noticed that there isn't an option to remove certain apps like Facebook, Google+, SocialLife ...etc.
Any advice? Thanks.
It's not safe to delete stock apps, but you can freeze those apps so it won't run and won't appear in app drawer. You need Titanium Backup and your phone needs to be rooted to do so

The best way is doing root & use the 3rd program likes Titanium Backup or Root Explorer. Regarding battery life, u should do 3 times full charge at least and it will get better day after day.
If i understood your question you want to remove some apps thar you dont need but are stock , you can root your phone flash a custom rom and when you install it you can untick the apps you dont need , also use titanium backup if you downloaded some apps and need to restore them

Thanks for your input. Do I need to discharge it completely before recharging again? It dropped about 10+% in one night
Thanks all, I will try to root my phone and give Titanium Backup a go.
Does anyone have a list of apps or services which are deemed safe to stop/disable?
